Allies: Eternal Empire

Eskk had landed among the first of the invasion forces. His special sensory organs were going crazy. There were powerful force sensitives everywhere and it made Eskk hungry.

He was walking down the street of an industrial section with a squad of ultranauts behind him. Their mandate was to cause as much damage as possible while avoiding civillian casualties. Eskk came to the sealed door of a factory.

"Blow it open," he ordered his squad and moved back. The men moved quickly to the door applying explosives to it. A few moments later with a loud boom it was blown off its hinges. The troopers went in first securing the building and arresting anyone inside who didnt resist. Eskk waited a moment and followed. There were several vehicles being assembled.

"Take the prisoners outside," he ordered his men. "Set more explosives in the building. I want this place leveled. Eskk called his purple lightsaber to his hand and began using it to demolish the vehicles in various stages of production.

A second had not fully diminished when the first blaster shots rang toward the opening abandoned by the sliding doors of the transport she and the small band of soldiers accompanying her. With highly genetic reflexes, the Sith Lord managed to weave gracefully from the impending kill shots; where as those amassed around her where not as lucky, nor others on the nearby surrounding transports. The enemy knew they were coming, so much thought into planning was not needed, only to simply assault the enemy and their strongholds with enough brute force to overwhelm and crush their opposition. While the troops rushed out around her, their weapons singing in response, she simply watched the events unfold around her. Meticulously, flavored with malice, her eyes plotted several points of attack. To her dismay, the enemy was properly fortified. Frontal assault only.

Casually she made her descent down, stroking the ramp with her boots while slowly removing her twin hilts. She craved conflict, chaos, and destruction in all capacities, but she was patient and intelligent enough not to dive straight into the fray; where so many others have already done before her, their corpses now decorating the streets and gutters. Halting her advance, spying a break in the defenses, she ignited her weapons in unison charging toward the breach. Closing the gap in haunting fashion, she reached the opening the same time three enemy soldiers did, hoping they could seal it before an enemy infestation.

Swiftly her blades struck down either soldier on her right and left, leaving her to stare into the eyes of the lone soldier. She took pride in watching the soldier freeze in terror, his blaster rifle shaking. Powering down her right weapon, she struck out clutching the soldier's throat; pulling him close to her, positioning her mouth around his left ear as she cryptically,
"You should have shot me."

And that soldier died not a hero, but a blabbering coward as she drove her other blade up and deep into the cavity section.

It was almost nostalgic- could droids get nostalgic? -to be fitted inside an astromech slot once more. The tight, snugness of the starfighter's cold walls around his spherical body, the Delta-7B's navigational computer already wiring itself up to the astromech's internal systems, a symbiotic link that would get BB-610 prepped and ready for the upcoming stream of diagnostics in mere seconds. He wasn't sure whether to be excited and happy to be in such a natural position again, or to be downright terrified that this is his first flight against a major faction.

The droid's head twirls around to glance at his partner- the togruta- to see her flustered features. It was adorable, truthfully, and BB-610 would be lying if he said the image of it didn't bring him some smug satisfaction; something that's further confirmed by the low series of chirps that sound an awful lot like childish giggles coming from him.

' Running diagnostics - All functions within the Delta-7B are at their peak and raring to go. Ship interface has been accessed and successfully linked; ready to go when you are. '

Somewhat nervous, BB-610 would shuffle with mild anxiety, his photoreceptor watching the handful of remaining technicians tend to their duties as they await their orders. Whether his first proper battle resulted in a loss or a victory, BB-610 was willing to give it his all. If not for deWinter, then for himself. To prove that the First Order had been wrong to treat him like a servant. To prove that the Resistance had been wrong to exile him for his faults. To prove that Bella, his first assigned partner in his new life, had been wrong to dismiss him in an instant.

A quiet whirr.
' We typically do not receive the same gestures as organic pilots do. To most, we are simply tools to aid in your survival. To me, we are half of a unit tasked with a specific mission. And to you, I am your partner. My life is in your hands, much like yours is in mine. ' BB-610's head circles around one last time, and he would stare with an unblinking optic, and nod.

' Godspeed, princess. ' A playful chirp, followed by another set of metallic giggles.

Auteme Auteme was not the only one surprised at the invitation to provide aid.

The young Nightbrother did not claim to understand the Jai. But, it seemed that they were organized into Clans, much like his own Witches of Dathomir. The Order of the Silver Jedi was one such Clan. The one which his people were familiar. There was another Clan -- the New Jedi Order? -- and these were also Jai, but different.

Different, how? Jorah would not have claimed to have understood the Jai or what they believe in the first instance. Let along the differences between them.

The Mistwalkers preferred to tend to their village. They sent envoys to the stars so that the Clan would have some understanding of the larger universe, but more so to give warning of any potential threats to the Clan. Their home on the moon of Alaris Prime allowed for the Wookiees to manage foreign affairs on their behalf. This ordinarily involved the interstellar cooperative known as the Concord. However, the Mistwalkers were aware that there were several such governments among the stars.

The Galactic Alliance was another cooperative. Jorah did not know these people, but it seemed that the Jai of the New Jedi Order called this Galactic Alliance their home.

On Alaris Prime, the Mistwalkers heard much discussion about the Sith. The Mistwalkers understood the Sith. As descendants of Mother Talzin's Clan, their histories and the stories passed down through their generations spoke of the Sith, the false promises of the Sith, and the betrayal of the Sith. It was, perhaps, the one common ground that the Mistwalkers had with the Jai. They did not like Sith.

Through the connection with the Concord, the Mistwalkers had come to learn of another threat. Perhaps one even greater, or, at least, of more immediate concern than the Sith: the Bryn'adul. At Chalacta, Jorah had seen firsthand the wounds inflicted by these beings.

The Galactic Alliance was not under attack by Sith or Bryn'adul. That was, itself, of interest. A third threat? And an opportunity to observe these New Jedi Order and their Alliance brethren up-close? It was an opportunity to gather more information for the Clan, both on potential friends and possible dangers. It was not one that the Shaol'maka could pass up. So, through their ties with the Silver Jedi, the Clan had asked for the Nightbrother to be allowed to aid the Jai.

Being that they were Witches of Dathomir, they expected a polite declination. Instead, it seemed that the government of this planet called Coruscant was either too occupied to have noticed or else open-minded enough to have allowed the Nightbrother to proceed.

He was younger than the medics from the Alliance had expected, but when he had shown up at the emergency aid station it had not been his youth that had unsettled the aid workers.

They had expected a Jedi.

With his bone ornamentation and tribal tattoos, Jorah was clearly not that.

The energy bow slung across his back, the boy's duties seemed to consist of primarily directing evacuees from out of the industrial sector of the city -- and some of them seemed more disturbed by his appearance than they did the bombs that were dropping.

What strange people, these non-Dathomirians...

The two groups sat outside of the system, a slow and methodical approach had been taken given the difficulty that even the most recent updates to the star maps could not remedy. It had taken some time to position the two fleets properly, but given that another group had gone ahead of them, they had ample time to setup their next move.

The Fleet Admiral stood aboard The Dancer, waiting quietly as the news of the ground parties slipping past made it's way to him. His personal fleet was behind the main attacking body, watching quietly as they organized themselves. His eyes wandered over the ships, watching as the ships organized themselves into a flying v-formation. The carriers were behind the Monarch's, the space between each Monarch filled in by a Disruptor Class Corvette to avoid rogue starfighters trying to fill the gap. He abhorred this tactic, despised the loss of life that was about to occur for not only themselves, but also those defending Byss.

He rubbed his face with one hand, wishing this to be finished already before the battle had even begun. Pressing the intercom system, he addressed Sapphire Squadron( Bella Bella ) waiting in his hangar.

"Sapphire's, you will jump with the main attacking body. There will be a fallback position on the outermost section of the system transmitted via the Courier and Messenger. Means pay attention to your comm-links and don't overstay your welcome." Dimitri sighed into the link. "We are helping the Eternal Empire, but that doesn't mean throw yourself into the grinder. Dimitri out." His own words rang in his mind. Don't throw yourself into the grinder. Exactly what he was doing with the main attack fleet.

His head was already aching when the chronometer was being read. The countdown had begun to a micro jump into the system. The two fleets separating here as the personal fleet lumbered in quietly on their own power at painfully slow speed, having made the edge of the system around Byss. The main attacking fleet micro jumped into the system around the planet, just past the nearest moon as the starfighters inside began to deploy.

The droid starfighters deployed quickly, wings unfurling as they sped into battle. They did their best to bait the enemy into following them before deploying rear facing Cluster Missiles at the enemy starfighters. Their laser cannons firing away as they took zig-zag patterns, barrel rolled, and even pulled what would follow them back towards the main body of the fleet.

The Monarch's began charging their proton pulse cannons upon dropping out of the jump, the hypervelocity cannons ripping as each pair aboard the vessels let loose with their own volleys. The turbolasers of each vessel focusing one target at a time ahead of them. The Messenger began relaying information through its encrypted signals back to the personal fleet situated on the very edge of the system while simultaneously deploying its signal blocking jammer in an attempt to block backward scans.

-Elsewhere-
Dimitri had a splendid view of the whole system from where he and the darts sat. The engines were pushing them at a painfully slow pace, the coatings of each ship and the baffling on each engine and attitude thruster working their best to keep their signatures to a minimum. The darts had been spaced out, four hundred meters apart from each other as the data slowly began to trickle in.

Enemy coordinate data, the planets shield going up. Ground forces cut off from any further assistance. His lip twitched as the darts went to blackout mode. The Dancer sat in silence as the vessels settled into position. Micro adjustments were made, miniscule pockets of baffled engine power to the nose of the ship possibly ignored given the fighting that was occurring by the main fleet.

Each dart focused on a singular target, all twelve focusing their main cannon in their preparation to fire all at once upon the Fleet Admiral's command. Each dart was in blackout mode, silent as the grave with no energy signatures, listening to The Dancer for instructions as the crews focused on reloading the weapon. All the while the ship's systems were dedicated to recharging the gun.

Lori loved puzzles and mysteries. She kind of got that from her Mom NPC Treasury NPC Treasury . And not long after the Commenor Systems Alliance fell, she had spent her time hunting treasures and exploring old temples. She had even found a special item for her parents, only to have it lost shortly thereafter. But it didn't really matter anyways. Both of her parents were dead. There was only herself and her twin brother, Caedyn Arenais now.

Having arrived in her newly acquired ship "Jaster's Delight", Lori had managed to cross the Galaxy to Byss without any Eternal Empire interference. Just as much as she was a nuisance to them, they had doubled their efforts to become a nuisance to her. Yet her new ship was sure to help slow them down!

Upon hearing of the mysterious tablet that needed translating, and with the possible links to the Eternal Empire, Lori couldn't just let that opportunity pass her by. She NEEDED to come. She NEEDED to help and get what information that she could. Other members of the Eclipse Rebellion had arrived too, so she wasn't alone on this one. Thankfully. Some of the soldiers were keeping watch of the perimeter, while Lori worked on the tablet's decyphering.

She couldn't help but feel some strengthening in the Force here. It was odd, yet not in an alarming way. The very nature and knowledge of the existance of a Force Nexus was unknown to her, having never had formal Force training for long. And for a moment she thought that she could sense her brother. But really, why would he be here? If he was, she hoped that it wasn't to keep an eye on her. He had rescued her far more than she was comfortable with. And more than she wanted to admit.

Chatter came over her commlink; ~Little Sparrow, this is Green Raptor. Infinity Trolls are disembarking.~

Lori frowned. Great. The Eternal Emlire was here. That was all that she needed. "Little Sparrow to Green Raptor, start peeling your taters. Let me know when the water starts to get hot."

~Understood. Green Raptor's heading into the kitchen.~

Code phrases were silly things. Yet the Eternal Empire had plenty of spies and a vast intelligence network. She couldn't be too careful.

Voth looked out over the system as his flight continued towards their waypoint.

"You Good back there?" Asking his backseater his status, trying to keep the new ordnance officer's mind off of the battle they were about to plunge into.

"Just making sure Deck didn't throw us to the bantha trough again." The backseater was frantically running through the weapons systems, making sure everything was online and their assigned payload was in order. Last time they'd responded to an alert the deck officer had neglected to load half the squadron with warheads, and with all of a single flight of Vornskr squadron available for this battle, it wasn't going to be pretty if they were left hanging

"Might want to strap in, this is going to be some fighting," he keyed his commlink to key in his wingmen, " 1, 2, scout ahead and mark targets for us. 10, you're on my tail - stay close, I'm not writing any letters today."

With that, two of his wingmen broke off and sped ahead, keeping an angle on the space battle to give them, and their sensors, an advantageous look at what was going on. As they neared the battle line, Voth rolled his fighter over, popped open his S-foils, and dove into the chaos, his tail mimicking him almost perfectly.

Keying in to the encrypted Galactic Alliance channel, Voth keyed through the active ships until he could find something approaching a commander. "This is Vornskr 5, ready to provide fighter support where needed, please advise."

They had known they were coming.

The Galactic Alliance Defense Force knew.

The New Jedi Order knew.

Hell, even the citizens of Byss knew.

Everybody knew that the attack was coming. And they had planned accordingly.

The Jedi Knight was embedded with a military unit, watching over one of the multiple quadrants where attacks were expected to be. The marines lined the roofs of an opposing warehouse. With his macrobinoculars, he eyed the factory that Eskk Jannik broke in to. Beside him, the Marine Captain had seen the same thing.

"What do you think, Master Jedi?"

"There could be more nearby."

"With the shields closed, they won't be getting anymore forces on the ground."

"Easy cleanup."

The Marine Captain bobbed his head up and down when Shaka finished the thought.

Peering into that visor, the Thyrsian shook his head as he rose up, the figure that had been leading Eternal Empire's forces disappearing inside the factory. His hand lowered to his belt, reaching for the simply made hilt before closing his fist and straightening.

"I'll engage them directly, Captain. Circle the building."

There were agreements all around, and as the Marine set about to distributing orders, Shaka's form leapt, with the aid of the Force to close the distance to the broken into building. Landing outside, he peeked in to see what was going on. He immediately caught sight of the lightsaber wielding man slashing apart a vehicle.

Stepping in, his right hand flew up, the Force wrapping around the mans wrist to stop him from further destroying the vehicle and then tugging in an attempt to draw the weapon out of his hand, or better yet, pull the man backwards and away from it entirely.

"Ever heard of, 'you break it you buy it'?"

Objective 1

Eskk's special sensory organs had not detected the approaching force user due to the sheer concentration of force users nearby. They were overwhelmed by the amount of potential targets and Eskk was starving as a result. So it came as a total surprise to him when he felt his wrist gripped, stopping his assault on the vehicle, which he had already hacked into several pieces.

Eskk instinctively tightened his grip on his lightsaber as his wrist was gripped and a moment later he was pulled away from the vehicle. This caused him to spin around and face his opponent. This being, whoever he was, was heavily armored where as the only armor Eskk possessed was his thin Durasteel facemask.

In that regard his opponent had an advantage on him. "Put it on the Eternal Empire's tab," Eskk responded to his quip. "I dont suppose you'd care to introduce yourself?"

Eskk didnt bother waiting for the man's response. As far as Eskk was concerned his name was dinner, because that's what he was going to be. Eskk reached out with the force and grabbed the largest piece of the vehicle he had been destroying and sent it flying towards his armored opponent.

As soon as he launched it, Eskk drew his second blade which he had stolen from Loreena Arenais and corrupted. The blade had a dark grey center outlined in bright red.

AS YOU KNOW,

War.

Politics...by other means.

Politics.

Economics...by other means.

It was time to cash in on all three today. The Eternal Empire had begun to engage in posturing maneuvers against the Galactic Alliance. Something which of course, Gat praised and admired as he postured on every living soul he approached by sheer presence alone.

At the very least, they had the courtesy to make due on their posturing and finally embark on a full fledged attack on the United Core.

Iconic.

What came next, was Gat to fulfill his obligations. The Trade Federation, as ordered by Federalist Chancellor Adhira Chandra Adhira Chandra and approved via vote of the Galactic Senate was to enforce the newly imposed sanctions of the Galactic Alliance unto the Eternal Empire. And with their force outright laying siege to the Alliance world of Byss, Gat was called to impose his will unto the Eternal Fleet. And thus, emerging from hyperspace, Gat's taskforce Godhand entered the field of play. Sparing his pride and joy in the Tambor-pattern Lucrehulks which acted as the heads of the cerberus to his formation, the rest was mostly cobbled together from ships off Alliance commission or in refitting and repair at Trade Federation drive yards within the Core.

Never the less, the Lord of War was here and the Trade Federation had an obligation to fulfill, a blockade in particular.

Thus, it arrived in force because...

AS YOU KNOW,

OUR BLOCKADE HERE

IS PERFECTLY LEGAL

A surprise to be sure!

Arriving at the edge of the system, Gat surveyed the battle laid out before him.

The Eternal Imperial fleet had arrived in line with the AGENTS OF CHAOS. A terrorist threat which Gat swore had been eliminated not so long ago. Which was a true and genuine shame as they seemed to be the kharmic vengeance of the financial world on the Confederacy for their 'CIS First' Mandate.

No matter.

<:: Director, we have arrived to the system of Byss...what are your commands? ::> The tactical droid stood near the holo map display sounded out to Gat who peered to him with widened eyes beneath his pressure goggles.

Gat knew that, of course. That was their destination after all.

"OERERERERERWEWEEERRR- Let us see...it seems Sularen has begun to coordinate the Alliance's defense...as one should expect given his relation to the world. There is no greater motivation than to defend one's home wouldn't you say?" He proposes, glancing the way of the droid who looked back at him with inhuman, crimson photoreceptors.

It would not say actually because it was a droid and didn't well and truly have any material attachments to anything at all but of course, this was Gat Tambor it was addres-

<:: Most certainly, Director. ::>

"Most certainly indeed...well, it seems they've brought an adequate force to handle the threat of the Eternal Imperial armada...do you have a comms signature to their flagship or- commander that is, Blambor?"
He inquired to one of the other Skakoan helmsmen on the bridge of the Lucrehulk.

"OWERREROEROERRRRRRERRREREFFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE- To the Galactic Alliance's commander? Shall we stand by for commands?"

"No no nooo no no- the Eternal Empire, I wish to address their admiral directly, wherever he may be."
Gat...frankly? Didn't like taking commands from anyone at all.

"Ah- yes, Director. I shall engage a comm scan."

"Excellent. As soon as you can open a line to the commanding officer, ping him to me and we shall speak. While the Eternal Empire has indeed consolidated a great deal...I'm not sure he is aware of the implications that a war-in-the-Core will have for his people."

<:: You wish to conduct diplomacy? ::>

"Of course! After all...now is a pivotal moment...and if we are able to prevent bloodshed here? That may very well bode well for our influence within both Eternal and Alliance space...and perhaps even a means to overthrow the Black Sun as the primary institution in control of the Eternal economy but for now...we wait."
Gat said tapping the tips of his fingers against one another before his green head twisted toward the entrance to the bridge at the beckon of the door's metallic hiss, wondering who might have just entered his command bridge.

Let the Mayhem and Destruction Begin!

One can fight ten thousand wars in full control of every battlefield situation thrown at them. Yet there will always be that final battle, the one where the soldier finally falls. There will be a day when the Galaxy fights its final war and every last soldier still fighting will fall. The dark will pitch their souls into the fires of entropy that will consume the last breath of the universe. All that will remain when entropy's fires die out, is the Goddess of Creation and Destruction. Who will rebuild the Universe once more from the ashes of the old.

A diminutive figure that did not even reach a full five foot (1.52 m) tall stood on the ramp of an unmarked old Etti Lighter. At the figures left side was a hover sled full of explosives of all kinds and to the figures right side a child that could not be more then ten years old. The Child had a collar around their neck, and it was an easy bet to guess it was an explosive collar.

The figure slowly walked down the ramp their Grav boots clanking on the metal grates all the way down. The Child and hover sled followed alongside the figure as they moved off the ramp into the streets of industrial area. The Figure was well armed besides the explosives on the hover sled, very visibly hanging off Their left shoulder was a grenade launcher.

The figure just casually walked along like they did not have a care in the world and really, they did not. The Dark had called them to this place of conflict as it had a few times in its past. They had seen the destruction of Byss before, shame someone thought to revive this cesspool of world. The hover sled if anyone looked closely could tell it had a protective shield over the explosives, also among the explosives was also a not powered hyper drive sitting in the center of the sled.

To their right was the child who nervously walked by the figure a human boy who stood just about the same height as the figure themselves. It could visibly be seen he wanted to pull at the collar around his neck but did not dare touch it. Fear was clear in the boy’s eyes, that fear of a person who was not sure they would make it through the day. The figure let the dark guide them towards their destination in the district which was a small military encampment.

Task Group Lucre

Amid the typical chaos of a battlecruiser bridge during combat, a red series of holographical numbers projected above the crew rapidly climbed. The significance of the figure was not immediately clear - it did not align to the number of vessels in theatre, nor the number of munitions fired, nor the amount of fuel expended. Certainly, it jumped when a friendly ship was damaged or destroyed, but the number was far too high to be a count of starfighters lost. While the numerals always ticked up, the rate did fluctuate as the battle progressed, moving back and forth between rapid and slow growth.

Senator Aerarii Tithe of Aargau knew exactly what the number meant.

Seated in a command chair next to the captain’s, the corporatist divided his time between studying the tactical holos and inputting data into the keypads build into the arms of his chair. He looked around the bridge as various updates from the battle were called out by the crew, sometimes pausing the consider the information. Occasionally he took a call by comlink, conferring with colleagues on other battleships.

The more observant of the bridge crew noticed that the holographic figures above their heads reacted more significantly when Tithe entered data into his system.

Even if the significance of the figure wasn’t clear to all, what was clear was that Tithe was growing increasingly frustrated at it. Large jumps in the number elicited a groan or shake of his head, while a pause in the skyrocketing figure coincided with his shoulders untensing. For all intents and purposes, the Senator was more concerned with the holographic figure than the battle raging around him.

When the figure ticked pass 500 million, Tithe muttered an Aarguun curse.

“I don’t, ah, like the look of these numbers,” he announced over comlink to the other members of the Trade Federation.

His hands flew across his keypad as Tithe entered countless variables into his formula - volume of ships salvaged for scrap, consumables being transported to the ground forces down on the surface, the average starfighter fuel burn versus the current Core hyperfuel price accounting for the gravitational pull of Byss. Few in the galaxy would have the ability to calculate the costs as quickly and as efficiently as the former banker. Interesting, the lives of the pilots didn’t appear to figure into his calculations.

“Byss is a revelatory world, but this is a significant investment.”

The tide of the battle moved subtlely as the Eternal Empire forces repositioned themselves. Tithe continued his work.

Accounting the cost of war.

If she was set on karking up her life, least the spy could do was get some new material. A flight joke? What was this, the Old Republic?

The Detective rolled her eyes at the Corellian's poor attempt at humor, opting to instead focus on the speeders currently doing their best to chase them down than offer even a pity laugh at whatever that was supposed to have been. Her saber lanced out as she twisted in her seat, hand gripping the head rest as she turned a full one eighty to deflect a series of stray bolts that lanced in their direction, batting them away into the shattered remains of a fruit stand Allyson had massacred only a few seconds before. "You know how it is. Inflight meal was overcooked, screaming baby in the row behind, not enough leg room..."

She trailed off, stilling her saber hand as she concentrated on the nearest driver. While the finer aspects of mentalism were far beyond her skillset, necessity of her job - both past and present - had given her an incentive to pick up a few tips and tricks here and there. Sometimes the smallest of them came in the most handy...

Maris tightened his hands on the wheel as the speeder took another corner at a kamikaze style pace. Even before his enlistment, his skill behind the wheel was beyond reproach, learning how to navigate the winding backalleys on a beaten up swoop his father had restored during his youth. He'd earned his confidence the hard way, which was more than could be said for Gaius, his hamfisted gunner. Spraying erratic blaster bolts like he was back in the Stormtrooper corps.

"Try aiming for once in your life, ijit!" Maris yelled over the sound of the engines, his gaze flickering towards Gaius to continue his rant before...

Suddenly things became disconnected as if waking from a dream, his sense of self and the world around him becoming fuzzy and disjointed. He blinked owlishly, shaking his head in attempt to remove the fuzz that settled around his brain. He was supposed to be doing something, he knew that for sure. Just... What was it again?

He was confident he could think of it, if Gaius would just stop yelling in his ear about the cor---

Seniya snapped back into her seat just in time to watch the fruit of her labor playout. On cue, there was a vicious explosion behind them as the lead speeder failed to make the necessary turn in time, not even bothering to slow down as it drove head-on on into an oncoming armored troop carrier coming in the opposite direction. The second and third were forced to slow down as they dodged and weaved precariously through the mayhem, flames licking at their sides as they continued the pursuit. Clearly undeterred - or perhaps motivated - by the deaths of their comrades.

"You know I'm gonna charge you extra for this, right?" The Kiffar yelled as she was forced to steady herself once again, almost falling out of the side of the speeder as it increased its speed and banked hard to take advantage of the small lead they'd just earned. "I'm pretty sure this counts as the literal definition of hazard pay."

Hitos and his team had arrived two weeks prior to the invasion to make preparations. They scouted the general area and have set in motion a series of bombings to create panic and disrupt the coordination of resistance efforts. They secured a staging area nearby where they set up their various explosives and went over maps to finalize their plans. Hitos tapped his comm unit to report that the operation was underway.

"Gorgon to Guardian," his voice was calm and collective.

"We read you Gorgon," the command and control operator responded briskly.

"Care packages are ready to be delivered."

"That's a copy I'm sure you will put plenty of smiles on their faces, maintain minimal comms when the operation begins."

"Copy Guardian minimal comms will be maintained," Hitos turned to the rest of their team they were dressed like administrators like himself, and gave them a nod. "We got the okay operation Crimson Tempest is a go," that they packed their kits and began to move out to hit their soft targets. Something was tugging at his gut. Hitos has a feeling things were going too well, their scouting was practically unopposed, and things were coming together too easily.

He and the team moved around the perimeter setting explosives at the locations they pre-determined. Things were good until he saw a muzzle flash nearby, Hitos dove for cover as one of the Blackwatch commandos dropped. "They know we're here, GET TO COVER!!!" the Commandos dove as another crack of blaster fire nearly hit another commando. This was bad, taking in a deep breath he peaked out to try to catch the sniper and ducked down as he nearly caught the blaster bolt.

"Gorgon to Guardian do you copy?"

Silence.

"Gorgon to Guardian do you read me?"

No response, they were compromised, someone had known about the operation and had been stalking his team as they prepared. "Northeast building fourth story, I will give suppressive fire push forward," Gorgon let out a salvo of blaster fire as his team began to bound toward the building.

---------

A strange voice dropped into Loreena's comm channel.

"I have a present for you, a group of rats in the temple market. Courtesy of a friend in Blackwatch, I will keep in touch...."

The Channel was well encrypted and the voice seemed modulated.

Byss
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The Alliance and Sith Empire had been at war for years now. For years, Alliance fleets had only played a supporting role in this far-off war, while the core seemed safe. Never had the Alliance led its own offensive, and in its few years of existence, the Galactic Alliance had never been forced to lead a defense against an outside threat. That changed with the attack on Korriban and Felucia.

My corvettes hadn't been ordered into the attack. Most of the fleet was still busy halfway across the Galaxy, which left the Alliance in a bad position for when the Eternal Empire launched an attack on Byss. Byss. I'd heard that they'd repeatedly voted against pro-Jedi bills and had been giving the government trouble with their Imperial leanings. The 253rd was one of the first Naval units to arrive at Byss when news broke of the incoming invasion.

The fleet at Byss was very...different compared to most GADF fleets. Many, many imperial-style ships were in orbit. I'm still not sure how we came to have so many, but I recognized one Star Destroyer as Vel'alari's flagship. Several battle cruisers in the distinct wedge shape belonged to the Governor of Byss. And still, more and more ships were arriving. Lucrehulks from the Trade Federation. Starhawks from the GADF. And of course, the Imperial fleet was arriving as well.

The 253rd was holding behind Byss's third moon. Comms would have to be our eyes for now. The plan was to attack the rear or flank of the Eternal Empire's fleet when they moved past the moon, but I wasn't sure that they'd make it that far. Byss had an impressive series of Space stations, and with the fleet here as well, the Imperials would take some heavy casualties as they approached.

The group were located near the edge of the industrial center. The nearby factories and control plants had long since been evacuated in preparation for the battle. Ben stood on one of the walkways near the roof. Up above the space battle ensued. He watched as the sky lit up from explosions and bright lasers. From where he was he couldn't tell which side was winning.

Static brought Ben back to reality. He looked down below to see the troopers huddled together listening to something. Ben only caught some of the words, "Planetary shield deployed-" "Reinforcements delayed." He frowned, that wasn't good. Now they were stuck on Byss with no further aid from the Eternal Empire or allies. They were hopelessly outnumbered. He walked down the stairs of the warehouse towards the rest of the group.

"New objective, take out the planetary shield. Otherwise we're stuck here outnumbered." He sighed, "Best bet is to locate the others and form up with them. I expect a heavy security force wherever the shield is." The troopers nodded in agreement. The lead trooper took over. She pulled out a compact datapad and pulled up a map of their location. "Here's where we are." She pointed to a group of small red dots on the map that represented each individual. Trackers were located within each trooper's helmet which linked to Blackwatch headquarters.

"We're about 14 klicks from the center of the capital." She guestered at several small and large rectangular blocks spread all across the map. "These are various factories and warehouses. The backbones of Byss's industrial operation and our target." She paused, "According to Blackwatch Intelligence, the buildings have been evacuated except for pockets of Byss planet security and Galactic Alliance troopers. Jedi are expected."

Finished, she allowed Ben to takeover once again, "
Thank you captain, questions?" No one spoke up. He nodded and motioned for them to get started. They would begin by placing timed explosions on large machinery located within the warehouse.

As Elpsis was making her way through the accursed castle, she heard the cries of pain and death resonate through the Force. Each life that was extinguished left a echo, however brief and feeble, and she was empath. Each life that perished on these grounds fed the nexus. The same would apply to any life she took. Without hesitation, she swiftly made her way towards the castle entrance. She happened upon the intruder who, wielding twin swords, had cut a bloody swathe through soldiers that tried to stop her. Elpsis sensed the Force radiating from her weapons, but she sensed an even greater presence surrounding the woman. There was something very off about her.

While a normal human - insofar as a Forceful being could be considered 'normal' - Elpsis did not perceive the world as most people, even Force-Users, did. She had not been born without physical sight, unlike the Miraluka. A reactor explosion aboard the Omega superweapon had robbed her of sight. She had stared into the nova, her eyes had burnt and died.

And the Lifeweb had blessed her with a different form of sight. One born from the Force alone. Sometimes, she found it difficult to remember what the faces of the people she had known before that day actually looked like. To this day, she did not know what the face of her friend Laira Darkhold really looked like, which upset her more than she wanted to admit. Certain tasks were difficult for her. For instance, piloting and slicing was pretty much out of question.

But she saw auras. Sometimes she could see things that eluded those who had use of physical sight or were more difficult for them. Sometimes she could pierce the fog of illusions and deception. And to her this woman did not appear human - or alien for that matter. Her aura was all twisted and wrong. The Force permeated her, as if it formed the core of her being.

Holding the weapon in both hands for balance and accuracy, Elpsis fired her Uproar Blaster. Two shots aimed at the head of the sword-wielding intruder. It was a sonic pistol - a hard-sound gun to be precise. Such weapons excelled at breaking bones, messing with organs or bursting eardrums. They could also not be blocked by glowsticks. It was a bit difficult to harness your magical powers if your ears were bleeding. Inferno remained on her belt, but was ready to be drawn. At the same time, she started to gather the Force inside her.

Captain Kovacs watched from the forward command post as crimson coloured stormtroopers, Alliance soldiers and others who had come to Byss' aid made their final preparations. A Sanjini marine approached him and handed him a holocommunicator. "Sir, the Governor is on the line." Kovacs nodded and took the communicator "Captain Kovacs. General Vreth has notified me the 1st Division is deployed and while I trust his judgement I find sometimes the words of junior officers to be more... truthful." The captain nodded. "Of course sir. You'll be happy to know the General was right. The 1st has taken up defensive positions throughout the capital. My men of course are ready as well." as he spoke a loud explosion was heard nearby. "Well Captain I'll leave you to it." Kovacs nodded and handed the holocommunicator back.

He began jogging towards the main barricades and as he got closer the explosions got more frequent. As he arrived he felt bits of dirt ricochet off his armour as an artillery shell landed 10 meters from him, taking apart two crimson stormtroopers carrying a box of ammunition. Kovacs payed little attention and instead turned to a Sanjini marine beside him, the platoon sergeant of his squad. "Status report." he asked and the marine looked to him and nodded. "Seems like these Eternal buggers are really trying to take this place apart. Byss planetary defence force got a shield up a-" but before he could finish another marine spoke up. "Sir, two targets, approaching the base." Kovacs shuffled over and looked through the scope of his rifle. "Must be some civie." he heard the marine continue. "Tell me marine. What sort of civie walks through a warzone with a hoversled and child chained up." the marine stared blankly before looking down his scope once more.

Kovacs looked to his sergeant and spoke. "Keep watch from up here. Give us overwatch. Corporal you're with me, lets check this out." he said before vaulting over the barricade with the other marine. Kovacs levelled his rifle before adjusting the sound setting on his helmet. "Attention civilian. This is a restricted area." Kovacs said as the hooded figure approached with the child. He turned to the corporal and motioned him to approach Tegan Starfall Tegan Starfall . The marine slowly walked forward with his blaster levelled until he stood 6 meters away. "Under the Defence Force ROE you are being detained under suspicion of colluding with the enemy drop the collar and step away from the cart." he stated in a stoic voice.

The GA was seemingly fighting a war on two fronts, pressing an attack against the Sith Empire and now defending against the Eternal Empire, allies of the Sith and a troublesome time for Kat. She was not one for wars, especially after all the fights that she had endured over the years, her young adult years were filled with combat, of victories and losses, lives of men and women she promised to protect snuffed out due to her leadership and drive to fight. Kat had grown sick of the conflict and did not want to seek it out but here she was, in the thick of war again and questioning why she decided to enlist when she despised fighting people. However, there was one thought that kept lingering in her mind whenever she thought about not fighting, what if this was Eshan? What if she decided not to fight and people lost their home, their loved ones because of that? Then she could not forgive herself and this was why she was here, this was why she entered every battle even if it was done with a heavy heart. She couldn't rally the Rangers to her in time to keep the civilians safe and escort them off-world but she made sure she was at the Nexus, hearing that the Eternal Empire wanted to be there and the danger that lingered around there.

Stepping off the ship, she felt the nexus, it was strong and a heavy presence in the air. Kat felt the pull to the Dark Side, there were Sith and plenty of those connected to the Dark Side around here, she knew that she needed to move cautiously since was always the risk of being caught by people far more powerful than herself. Holding her rifle, she stepped forward, her eyes narrowed as she surveyed the surroundings. She spotted two friendlies not too far away from her. Making her way over, she moved from cover to cover, avoiding detection as best she could. Nodding to her allies, she fired upon some enemies to drive them back into cover as she called over to her allies, "So, what's the plan? The odds aren't looking the best but I think we can survive them!" She offered a friendly smile.

Sighing, this was certainly going to be a tough situation that she had found herself in.

Location: Industrial District
Objective: Remove threats to Byss
Equipment: Raven Wing Pack, VSF Fennec, Varos Cloak, Kits Yelp Bracers, Vulpesen's Lightsaber, Shadow Fox Amulet. three EMP grenades, two frag grenades, 10 miscellaneous lightsabers, Three totems of Familiars(kath hound, Kreehawk, Acklay),

Sitting upon one of the buildings within the industrial area, Vulpesen gazed down at the battle below him, his tail flicking in anticipation. Battle. War. How long had it been since he had felt these old friends pump adrenaline into his veins. It was the forge that had created him, the furnace that had tempered him into the man he was now. "Harlow, you have command. Keep their men pinned down. I'll take the commander," He spoke into his comlink as he placed his mask over his face. Passive as ever, the golden visage betrayed none of the nerves that ran through him. Still, it wasn't fear that set his senses alight. It was like coming back to an old passion. The jitters that ran through him would make him fast, keep him quick, and ensure that his mind remained sharp and clever.

As Ladybug Ladybug touched down, he watched as his men opened up their first volley, heavy repeaters opening up on those that attempted to exit the doors. For some it might seem safer to have stayed inside the vehicle... at least until an anti-material rifle opened up on it, sending a large powered bolt through its fuel tank. Being a supporting element, the Vitae forces had positioned themselves on the buildings and behind the main defenders, though they wouldn't be afraid to get a bit messy when the time came.

Keeping to his perch, Vulpesen waited patiently until his mark appeared. Eventually a woman with crimson hair and blades would emerge, making a lethal entrance as she took her first taste of battle. Three lives taken in the blink of an eye. He could sense the sadistic pleasure that coursed through her, sending a shudder through his spine. "There you are," the Valde whispered to himself as wings slowly extended from his back, giving a gargoyle like appearance to the figure atop the old warehouse. "Now lets dance..."

Vulpesen wouldn't offer much in the way of warning as he swooped down, his raven pack pushing him towards the dark woman. His hands extended, he sent out his first attack, a volley of explosive darts aimed at center mass, each lunched by the bracers that rested upon his arms. Perhaps it was a bit rude, but if he could take her out before she had a chance to react, the chaos in the enemy ranks would come in handy. And if she survived, then perhaps she was worth the curtesy of offering a surrender.
