STRENGTHS

Badass Longcoat: A micronised songsteel mesh is concealed beneath the outer layer, granting the coat a much higher level of protection than it would otherwise appear. Norris root dye also dramatically increases the coat’s resistance against lightsabers and plasma related weaponry.

Coat Full of Contraband: Because it wouldn’t be TOTT if it didn’t have some kind of twist, the coat also features a Baffleweave lining to obscure any cursory scans, making it ideal to conceal items in those handy inner pockets.
Masquerade: The Shadowrunner boasts a Concealed holographic disguise matrix capable of altering the wearer’s appearance and voice at a moments notice. The device holds up to three disguises at any given time.

WEAKNESSES

The Weakest Link: While impressive in other arenas, the Shadowrunner Coat offers very little resistance against acids, sonic attacks or EMP/ION. It is also rather obviously not rated for vacuum.
Conspicuous Trenchcoat: Hides items from cursory scans, not overly zealous pat downs. Military grade sensors will also cut through that baffleweave at close range.
Pull the Thread: The holographic disguise matrix is sadly not without flaws. It cannot stand up to physical inspection or high end military grade scans, and is also subject to signal interference from devices such as a holodisruptor. It also doesn’t make you a galactic class actor or provide you with any information that might be critical to maintaining a disguise.

DESCRIPTION

Hoi, Chummer. On the surface, the Shadowrunner ain’t nothing more than a fairly decent, if somewhat a little dated greatcoat. Soft black gorraslug-leather, warm charcoal synfleece. Stylish. Practical. The kind of coat you might want to ward off those cold, long nights spent out around the town. But nothing really stands out at first glance - or even a second or fifth for that matter. And that’s kind of the point right there.
Your Shadowrunner ain’t meant to stand out from the crowd. Standing out is deadly in any line of work, so ka? That’s why it features a baffleweave lining over that mesh of micronised songsteel its got sandwiched between that leather and fleece combo. Keeps it nice, tidy and discrete. Like a true unsung hero, like a true professional, it doesn’t need the spotlight. It simply fulfills its role when you need it the most. Like when that razorgirl gets a little too handsy or a Johnson decides to renege on his end of the deal. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that there’s a little bit of good old norris dye in the mix. Adding that extra something something should things really hit a proverbial fan.
We've all been there, amirite?
But that’s never plan A with this coat. Plan A comes in the form of that cunningly hidden holographic disguise matrix. That little number, triggered by a discrete switch in the inner right sleeve, allows you to adopt one of three pre-programmed disguises. Perfect for slipping away from trouble or even slipping in should the need arise. We ain’t gonna judge.
You do you, runner. You do you.
