Intent: To give Vulpesen a personal artifact, as well as a new trick on the battlefield.

Development Thread: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/62804-soul-searching

Manufacturer: Vulpesen and Lavania

Model: Shadow Fox Talisman

Affiliation: Vulpesen

Modularity: None

Production: Unique

Material: Force Imbued Durasteel and a Blue Crystal.

History: Created By Vulpesen and the Nightsisters of the Spider Clanthe shadow fox Talisman was formed originally by the finest of Zorren armor smiths, with the sole purpose of being a marker of Zorren leadership. When Vulpesen rose to power as the Zorren Valde, it was only logical that he inherit the necklace that came with it. Several years after receiving this pendant, Vulpesen would make his way to Dathomir to meet a nightsister by the name of Lavania. After a day and a night of very unusual negotiations, he would return three months later and start on the creation of his talisman. With the weapon then successfully created, he would leave the planet, training with the Talisman on the way home and in his spare time until his use was near flawless.

Description: The creation of this amulet was made with ancient nightsister spells and rituals that while naturally darksided, were participated in by Vulpesen who's grey affiliation lightened the orientation of the object, keeping it from being completely dark. Otherwise, the ritual was fairly normal in that it binds the object to what the NIghtsister's call an ur-spirit, a manifestation of the force that takes on the life of a creature. This particular ritual bonded the Talisman to the ur-spirit of the veran fox, allowing Vulpesen to take its form fairly easily. When activated the talisman transforms Vulpesen into a Veran fox, though the process only targets his body, leaving his mind unaffected by the change, though it does add the instincts of the animal as a sort of basic manual.

Due to the Amulet being what links the Ur-fox to Vulpesen, if anything were to happen to it, Vulpesen would be left unable to shift forms, no matter what shape he is currently in, whether it be the Veran Fox, or himself.

The talisman is activated simply by focusing on the pendant and calling out the name of the Ur-Fox, Varos.

Strengths:

Capable of surviving low grade blaster shots

Shifts Vulpesen into a Veran Fox upon command. This transformation only takes a few seconds though Vulpesen undergoes a breif moment of incredible pain as everything shifts into place. Though, the pain can be lessened by unedrgoing the transformation at a slower rate.
Gives a minor boost in connection to the living force.

Weaknesses:

Covers minute amounts of the body making it fairly useless as a reliable piece of armor.

Any Clothing that is not usually worn by Vulpesen is susceptible to ripping during transformation.

If broken while Vulpesen is in fox form, he will be unable to shift back.

Powerful bursts of force light could cause the Amulet to malfunction or break. Possible malfunctions include increased amounts of pain no matter the speed, or incomplete transformations(could also be quite painful).

It is possible for Vulpesen to loose himself in the fox form, forgetting who he is if he spends too much time in the shape. The time required for this depends on his concentration and willpower to hold back the instincts of the fox from taking over his own mind.

Ok. Forgive the phone posting here.

Firstly, 100% canon. And supported by an impressive dev thread.

Talisman of the Raven

Could you please describe or provide a hyperlink to the species that this turns you into? Also, please work the above hyperlink into a Precedent section.

The current description you have seems to be all History. Could you please relabel it as History and write a new description that explains the what, how, and limitations of this artifact? Possibly with a few more risks or other weaknesses to balance it out?

Could you please elaborate on approximately how long the transformation takes, and if there are any related side effects (such as pain or something).

Could you please clarify what sort of "malfunction" this could cause?
