Finally.

"<You all heard the Admiral. Oya!>"

"<Oya!>"

In an instant, the Tal fleet jumped into hyperspace. Every member of Clan Tal tensed as they waited, and Taozi felt her rage begin to bubble once more. Oh how she wished she had chosen a combat role instead. To burn, and destroy those monsters who didn't deserve to exist in the galaxy. But today was not her day.

Taozi stepped forward, away from her student, as the fleet entered the system. She took in the naval battle, and clenched her fists.

"<All ships, scatter and fly as fast as your engines can take. We can not afford to lose any ships to those monsters of the Sith Empire. Feng, open frequency to all allied Eternal ships.>"

"<Yes Alor! Opening comms now.>"

"This is Alor Tal, my fleet has entered the system and is beginning recovery operations for the injured and deceased. I am requesting cover fire if possible as we descend into the atmosphere. My ships are able to take hits, but are not suited for combat functions."

Taozi nodded to Feng, who ended the message there, as the Jahaal'gots scattered from the Fuyuan as their Alor commanded before. The Alor tensed as she watched her Clan descend into the midst of battle. Her body stilled, as she looked over the chaos, and mapped a route for her own ship in her head.

"<Descend down into the atmosphere, staying below the battle as much as possible. We can not afford to fall to the Sith.>"

As the ship's pilots maneuvered to descend into the atmosphere, all of Clan Tal made their final prayers to the Manda.

Kyrel was moving to leave from the Rebels. Most of the soldiers did not stop him, standing in awe of what just occurred with the leader they had. He had not time to settle old scores with Jedi. No, the Force had a purpose for him on this day. He could feel it, and yet even as he moved. One man motioned trying to blast him to kingdom come. Kyrel narrowly managed to dodge, with his armor taking a good brunt of the blast. Gritting his teeth as he looked at what to be a raging Mandalorian. It was nothing surprising, Mandalorians were nothing more than blunt instruments. Thinking more with their guns rather than what is really at stake. Kyrel did not seek to fight, he had an Imperial Knight to save. One that had a path to walk alone, and his that he was certain his own would end today.

With blazing yellow fury forming his eyes, Kyrel's own rage threatened to take hold of him again, and yet this brutish man would not be the one to earn the honor of his wrath. Kyrel only looked at him, using wreckage of the Battlefield to put distance between himself and the one who mistakingly wanted to kill him. "Simple-minded oaf! I saved your leader's life just now, and now you seek to kill me when I wish to destroy the common enemy we hold. Think less with your guns, and more with you mind. I have no quarrel with you.... If you wish for me to meet my death. Be it at the hands of a Sith, then some Mandalorian trash... Now begone from my sight!" At the end of his words, The Force may be hard to use upon his kind, but not to the world around him. Letting out a grunt, as he motioned with both hands. Taking much of wreckage scattered around him, forming a wall of sorts to separate the two. Time was running out if he didn't move to engage the Sith Lord now.... Then it would have all been for nothing, and as of now he had no time to play and toy with some brute he wrongfully sought his death when he should tend to his leader.

Hoping to at least buy time, he concentrated on his own energy, using the dark side as a blazing inferno to speed his way to the location of the Imperial Knight, knowing that the task in of itself would not be difficult. He could only hope that he had time. At least before the Mandalorian was hunting after him. Concentrating on the power of the Force. It wasn't long before he saw the Knight. Rurik Fel Rurik Fel looking upon his foe. The Sith in front of him seemed to remind Kyrel of himself, and yet he would find such a task interesting. Two Masters of the Dark Side seeking to combat each other. Kyrel looked back to see if he was being followed, before looking at the Knight.
"Leave while you still can Knight. This is my fight I think.... Don't wait for me even... Leave if you still can." He said as he stepped forth. His staff reigniting. "I believe you have a fight with me Sith... One of which my intent is to kill you. If I have to take you with me I will." He declared looking upon his new foe.

One of the Eightgun-Forge pairings, already locked onto the tail of one of the X-Wings as it broke off to strafe the outpost, began to ferociously open fire on the X-Wing they were pursuing. The other five pairings continued to engage the remaining fighters that had not yet broken off from the frenetic dogfight going on. It opened fire, launching a seeker cluster missile whose submunitions were targeted at the three fighters. The distraction had admittedly lessened ground fire towards Dash and the rest of his squad as the anti-air beam weapons were being concentrated against the attacking X-Wings. A shot on one of the ground turrets jammed its traverse while another had its dish shot off.

Vanessa, eager to reduce the chances of the hostiles aerial superiority, focused upon the engines in one of the X-Wings, attempting to, as she had with the warhead in the dropship, cause them to be destroyed, forcing the fighter to crash and hopefully killing the pilot inside it. While her attention was being summoned up, one of the attending officers came to her.

"We have identified the communications frequencies of the dropships and their fighter and bomber escorts. Shall we begin dedicated jamming of their communications?"

Vanessa nodded. "I have a special track for them. Play on all identified hostile frequencies, and include jamming of additional secondary and tertiary frequencies as they are identified." The audio would begin to play on the communications devices of all rebel vehicles, spacecraft, and personal communications devices tuned to their standard frequencies within vicinity of the outpost and would, at least for a bit, disrupt their ability to focus and their ability to communicate.

-

On the ground, the two Oppressor Dark Troopers were unleashing heavy fire upon the dropship site, a microcosm of the other Darktrooper units battling against dropships worth of enemies landing elsewhere within the combat zone. Both were on one knee, helping to stabilize their fire even as their heavy repeating blasters reached a temperature most standard troops would be uncomfortable with. The jumptroopers once more leapt into action, launching more wrist rockets at the trapped rebels as they continued to offload blaster pistol fire at the position. One would even fly up and land on top of the dropship, dropping his three plasma grenades down into the defender's area. On the far side, opposite Will and Shavara, the radtroopers continued to advance with their radiation weapons, deliberately toxifying the environment with radioactive particulate releasing around ten kilorads worth of radiation on the downed craft.

The Oppressor that had Shavara attempting to force it to turn its fire on the flying jumptroopers struggled against it before letting go of the weapon, and throwing a plasma grenade at the dropship site. Elsewhere, more of the dropships had either been taken down by anti-air fire with any crash survivors fighting against the darktrooper and radtrooper units, or had established positions the Sith troops were looking to push back against.

"Reyn...no..." Lori tried to get up once she realized what her cousin was doing. It was admirable, surely, but he shouldn't of gone to attack Kyrel. The Ren had saved her, after nearly taking her life! Yet she wasn't able to reach him.

Her wounds were healed yet she felt drained all the same. And when she heard Curtis' voice, she couldn't help but smile a little. He was coming to her side. Lori sat up a bit, albeit a little too quickly which made her dizzy. At least she wasn't feeling sick.

Curtis arrived soon after, taking command of the situation as though he was used to this. But neither of them really were. ~Damn it! Don't be long. Our window is closing!~ Arla was just a little peeved. Or perhaps a bit more. She hurried through the cockpit, getting the Jaster's Sparrow ready for take-off. Without any witnesses, she could use her non-human speed to her advantage. All the while she prepared to plot a course that would get them all to safety.

"I knew you'd come." Lori wrapped an arm around Curtis' shoulder as he lifted her, while her free hand took hold of her lightsaber. The soldiers with them followed his orders to the letter. "Just don't tell my brother about this. Or my mom. They'll only worry...." They'd probably find out eventually, just as Curtis would be told how it happened too. Maybe then she'd learn how to fight off such sorcery.

Two eyes as one - two minds in sync - two women in tandem.

Few born without power could walk shoulder to shoulder with those who had known it all of their lives, but the Zeltron had not found herself aboard the Sith Saber as a mere subordinate - and the Sith Saber had not found itself among the Vong flotilla without her guidance. It boasted shields build for surviving bombardments from defensive fleets, and a reinforced hull for the bigger threats - like the proton beam cannon situated on the Arbiter - but even for all of these impressive defenses the battlecruiser was not invulnerable. The first shot struck the shield and almost immediately tore it down to half strength, the Zeltron was physically incapable of even making a visible reaction, in fact the synapses that fired to send visual feedback from her eyes to her brain were unable to process the information they were receiving fast enough for her to even realize the shields had been struck when a second firing depleted the shields and embedded itself just above the nose of the hull of the ship and sent a shockwave vibrating through the hull so strong it caused the battlecruiser to dip, aligning the nose of the ship with the planet below.

She didn't need to be told that every single person within one hundred meters of the point of contact was dead, nor did she need to hear that the shields had been torn apart. "How long?" Was all she said, referring to the shields, as she ignored the resurgence of signal jamming. "Eight minutes until we can project eleven percent shields, it seems the shields were overloaded by the force being concentrated into a single point rather than outright depleted, we can divert power to shields at the cost of mobility, but that would prohibit us from firing the autocannons again until shields are stable." Came the voice of a man to her front, a combat analyst whose entire job rotated around determining probabilities in naval warfare. "And if we divert power from thrust to shields?" She asked, to which the man nodded, though he wasn't facing her, and after running several more figures replied with a sigh of relief. "Seventy seconds to pump enough power to get shields operational, but hull integrity is fine, and the damaged area should have melted from the heat of impact, despite the buffering it faced from our shields."

"Excellent, divert power from thrust to shields, and fire our turbolasers and missiles at the dreadnought, they've been so kind as to alter our positioning for us so it would be rude of us not to take their gift." She instructed as she observed the scene visible through the viewport of the battlecruiser. She usually didn't find herself in situations where she felt she might have taken something for granted, but the general defenses of the Autarch were the only thing that had kept her from turning into space debris today - and she still wasn't out of the thick of things just yet. Even now, as she watched, two ships - cruiser in size - in the Vong flotilla succumbed to an overwhelming barrage of missile fire from the Eternal Armada. She did not know their names, nor who fielded it, but the crew of the Yorik Cresh and Yorik Onith perished with their respective Avec Liluunu, blown apart in nearly as spectacular fashion as the reactor that had been ejected from the dreadnought only such a short time ago.

Pink eyelids shut and then opened in a slow blink as the Sith Lord opened her own eyes, and her mind, to the Yuuzhan Vong once more.

It felt almost impersonal to be seated in her living throne, her mind only just a step away from unification from the rest of the ships and pilots in her naval force. The loss of communication between the villip choir aboard the Tchilatte Al'Yun-Ne'shel with the comms on the Autarch informed her of another play at jamming, only this time the noise, previously disregarded as a mere ghost to the sensing nodule, was filtered through by the villip choir and the general vicinity of the source of the frustration for those enslaved to their metal coffins was triangulated by the targeting brain aboard her ship. She'd liken it to sonar or echolocation if she had to vastly oversimplify the process of stripping noise and pinning it on a general area - and it still wasn't entirely precise - but it gave away the presence of the thorn in their side and that was enough.

It was likely a shocking sight, then, to see the Izai-tu Yammosk, a massive Yuuzhan Vong Us-hrok Izai, streak across the black expanse of space with its hangar of a maw wide, devoid of the ships it had already disgorged at the start of the conflict, towards the Fenris after its cover had been blown by the very EWAR system it was making use of. And, sure, the incredible array of heavy Yaret-kor and rock spitters unloaded themselves on the general vicinity of the ship as it approached, but its incredible size was meant for a far more simple task - ramming. Unlike the rigid superstructures common in a galaxy of metal ships and titanium guns, each ship in the Yuuzhan Vong flotilla, along with every piece of equipment and every weapon or article of clothing they wore, was a living creature, and the moment of collision would see its gaping maw used like a vice to drag the ship down as everything it had was fired on it.

Several dozen fighters deployed, surprising not even remotely to the number Alekto had anticipated when their enemy had revealed themselves, and she found herself, for once, comfortably confident in the fact that her own smallcraft far outnumbered the Eternal Empire, by more than two-to-one. She, of course, didn't even consider Taeli Raaf Taeli Raaf 's own fighter compliments, but as her own Yorik Oqa were deployed - and the Mailoc gunships firing on their capital ships already - she merely directed half of them to deal with the Eternal Empire's fighters, glad that they had been conveniently forgotten upon the arrival of the more conventional Sith fleet.

The other half changed their course as the watchful eye of the Triumvir of Power caught sight of missiles streaking up through the skies and into orbit through the visual feedback of her villip choir. With a fighter compliment so heavily outnumbered, had the Eternal Empire really allowed themselves to fall into folly? She knew their Emperor had grayed hair, but she hadn't taken him or his leadership for dotards - all the same the Yorik Oqa that had decidedly not engaged with the Eternal Empire's ships, which the sixty or so squadrons of that had were more than capable of handling on their own, pursued these missiles as they entered space with speeds that would have rivaled any interceptor worth their salt and fired on them as they drew close enough with firepower that could have put them neck and neck with any superiority fighter.

She smiled, though she felt it not with her body submerged in the cognition throne, as the trap was finally laid.

The Eternal Empire assumed that the Sith Empire cared about temporary reinforcements on a largely uninhabited world, that they were blind to some grand scheme that had escaped the grasp of their knowledge through sheer audacity - but that was the goal all along wasn't it? Play a fool to play the fool?

The Tchilatte Al'Yun-Ne'Shel had drifted somewhat after firing its rockspitter equivalent of hypervelocity guns, and it was purposeful - though she hadn't quite expected the effectiveness in her own maneuvering with the movement of the dreadnought caused by the strike from below and the front. Before her lay a straight line of sight from space to the surface of the planet, and where she could see, the rock spitters could fire. And fire they did - right down at the source of the missiles that had been fired at her ally's ships, albeit some minor adjustment to add some padding in distance from the observation post - as she assumed Sith forces would likely be on the ground in combat in an area near the source of the missiles, and yet closer to the observation post. Sure, it'd be far more localized in regards to an area affected by the kind of focused, kinetic, damage that the rockspitters firing their projectiles could manage as opposed to the purposeful explosive design of the Sith Saber's orbital autocannons, but unlike the autocannons these projectiles would be moving far faster than the speed of terminal velocity - and unfortunately for whomever had so hopelessly given themselves away, whatever sort of gains they might have potentially made by landing without her notice was pointlessly thrown away to risk firing into orbit - though splash damage from such a strike was certainly more than enough to rain on the parade of whomever had taken it upon themselves to fire into space at an orbiting fleet.

"Eternal Empire?" Came the hiss of a fractured voice mingled with the sounds of amphistaffs vocalizing at the same time. "There is only one thing that they will have made eternal - their audacity."

It was then that the seven Ro'ik Chuun M'arh, vessels that could fire all of their weapons - from their yaret-kor to their plasma missiles - all at once in a forwards direction, devastating ships during the Yuuzhan Vong war for their ability to overwhelm larger ships, fired upon the wounded dreadnought. She didn't truly expect much - even if the shields of the ship had been completely stripped it would have likely survived long enough to make an escape if the entire Eternal Empire put their focus on doing so, but it was a sign - as much a sign as her firing down on the planet below - that she didn't play by their rules, or rather that the Sith Empire did not.

Victory, for Alekto, was total. Strategy, despite her rather extensive use of it, was only a means to facilitate that.

One, two, four, six.

"Sniping a wounded civilian? How brave!"

Each red scream lanced through the tangles of jungle, illuminating the shaded terrain until silenced by a violent strike. They found quiet by hitting their target, or rather, their target hitting them.

Cara's arms glowed crimson as they met blaster bolts, the pair moving in an effortless sync to shield her already metal-plated torso. She wouldn't allow her stride to be slowed. This trooper was marked.

It was hers.

Nameless.

Faceless.

But its helmet would concave, visor shatter, and liquid stain her fist like an unfortunate number before it.

And it was unfortunate. To be perfectly honest she had no interest in war. Interest in the NIO? Obviously. But body counts were superfluous. A waste of time, a waste of technology, and such a waste of progress. Oh! The words she'd give that damnable imperator if he were there.

But as the sanguine blasts were splattered to the side she couldn't help but stir anger at their situation. Chuza would get out of here alive. If nothing else could be accomplished then his survival would be her offering on success's altar.

She refused to be a failure.

And the earth began to rumble.

An earthquake agitated the sediment. She felt her feet sinking, a certain death if she didn't change course. Arm outstretched she caught the bulk of a smaller tree, torquing her body around the post to wrench herself off her path. She tumbled then clawed through the fauna on the jungle's rumbling floor, fingers clicking as they sunk into the dirt.

Here, from on all fours, she regained sight of the trooper, himself slightly elevated. A steady throb in the back of her head warned her of the sudden wave of signals swarming the area. More soldiers, but from where? And so many… too many…

She refused to be a failure.

Pistons contracted. Servos whined.

Chunks of earth ripped out from beneath her hands as she flung herself forward, airborne with fist raised to wipe a drop from an ocean.

Then the sky grew red...

”We also prefer labs or excavations.” she replied to her disciple while she continued her task.

That was all she could say at the moment, although she may not have loved the battlefields either, she recognized exactly that it was sometimes necessary. Although simple duels were more comfortable than this. She did not care about the tremors and continued to widen the rift, but now she created more and more small thin fissures straight in the direction of the trenches. Meanwhile, the child was not idle either, she used the same technique as Xanesh, only in a smaller area. And apparently this also exhausted her, nevertheless, Xanesh saw the potential in the girl, that she can take a lot with proper education.

She just nodded at the words of the child, who really fainted after the ice wall was made. And then, just as she was prepared to plunge the weakened ground into the abyss under the units of the Eternal Empire, she saw the light of a projectile coming from space heading for their position. Quite exactly to the other half of the landing zone, but she knew that such an explosion could easily devour them.

”Force damn it!” she said.

Again! It seems it wasn’t enough for the mountain to explode on Wayland, and she nearly killed thanks for the Mandalorian. And but now this devastating shot, she should have stayed in the lab on Dromund Kaas and deal or experiment with sithspawns. Or be at one of the excavations. She felt too old for all this. She immediately stopped the alter environment Force ability, she didn't have much time, but the next moment she created a shield around herself and the child so that the explosion wouldn't devour them.

At least she hoped that. As it happened, the explosion melted the ice block in moments. Xanesh needed all her strength to keep the shield and survive while the heat and the explosion lasted. Here it was harder now than in Wayland, she absorbed a lot of life force there, nothing here. From exhaustion, the blood of her nose began to flow. The explosion and subsequent events subsided, until it finally reached the point that they no longer needed the shield.

The shield ceased and Xanesh fell to her knees exhausted, gasping for air. For now, she seemed to have survived .. they survived...

TL;DR:
After Hailyn Hailyn ‘s action:
- only natural earthquakes have remained, but they are continuous because of Xanesh's and Alekto's actions

The Sergeant had been right about Na'an's ribs hurting like hell. That was expected; falling as far as she had, only to jerk to a sudden stop, was bound to cause a few bruises. Fortunately, Vidalu Na'an was used to powering her way through far worse than a few bruises. By the time the battalion made their way to where she was dangling, she'd managed to catch her breath and regain some footing.

"Good eye, Sergeant," she said, angling her helmet to acknowledge the soldier above her. "You've got a decent instinct." He merely grunted at the compliment; his partner one line over, however, was whooping like he'd just seen the face of the Father himself.

"Good eye? Good eye? Star's END, what was that? What even WAS that?" The boy's feet danced along the tower wall, unable to contain his excitement. Na'an could feel the heat of her own flush warming the air inside her helmet, and once again she was grateful she'd chosen a full-face disguise. If he'd idolized her before for just taking out a few tanks, what she'd just done certainly wasn't going to help matters. "You just exploded a--with literally nothing but a--and Dag, you--you were amazing--I have never--"

Interestingly, that got a reaction out of the Sergeant--his coarse face reddened, and suddenly he was busy fiddling with the line on his wrist. "Shut it, private," he said gruffly. "We lost good men to that fighter, and we're not done yet. Stop squealing and focus."

"...Oh. Right."

The mention of their dead compatriots seemed to put the entire battalion back into a serious mood. The next 20 or so meters of descent passed in relative silence. Thankfully, the success of Na'an's little stunt seemed to discourage any fighters from breaking through the Commander's flight patterns and following after the first, so their only impediments were the occasional stop to blow up a turret.

Na'an had once again deferred to the Sergeant's direction during the descent, focusing more on their surroundings than on the progress of the men. For the most part, the chaotic prickle of lives--Light, Dark, otherwise--were all in conflict around them, but too far away to be a risk. She felt a familiar pain as they passed a certain floor (triple fire across the shoulders, hot dust and coppery blood), but it was inside the tower, distracted. He wouldn't even think to look farther than the black hole of ego he'd chosen to focus on, and telling the battalion they were just now passing the Eternal Emperor would only scare them. Instead, she simply urged herself down further to make room for the Sergeant, only sparing a second to scratch the itch at her shoulder blade.

Coming down from the outside had been the right call. They'd completely bypassed anything the men wouldn't be able to handle...At least, until they were five meters from the ground.

That was when the Sithspawn emerged.

Na'an caught the feel of them seconds before they emerged, while the Sergeant was prepping the first few men for dismounting the ropes. She stilled at the coppery zing of blind hate and bloodlust, her mind once again spinning fast and hot. Of course. This wasn't a lab, but of course there were going to be Sithspawn. The Sith of the Unknown Regions were pompous and arrogant and far too rich, of course they'd bring slaves to do their fighting for them. And these ones were nasty--Na'an caught a glimpse of massive vibro-axes, bright silvery armor capped with sharp-bladed wings.

"Stop!" Only the Sergeant stopped at first when she started yelling; she had to put a little effort into it to get the other lines to listen. "Hostiles below! I repeat, hostiles below!"

The Sergeant's partner caught on quick. He turned so fast those on the rope below him spun, bellowing at the top of his lungs to the lines Na'an's voice couldn't reach. "Everybody, stop!! We've got trouble below, you're gonna get killed, everybody, stop, STOP!!"

That was when the first of the Sithspawn heard them. Its head swiveled upwards to regard the battalion, dangling from ropes just overhead. Then, as Na'an watched in horror, its wings spread wide, and it let out a horrible screech as it leaped straight upward, aiming right for the private's line.

The private didn't seem to even notice, still trying to warn the other lines. Na'an opened her mouth to yell for him to stop, to move out of the way, but there was no time.

"If you don't stop you're gonna die, We need to regroup, the Jedi said--"

The first Sithspawn swung its axe. The Private's shouts were cut short, and at the sight of five more men falling to the ground, one of them missing an arm, it wasn't Na'an's voice that sounded next.

"Gorello!!!"

****

The Sergeant was gone.

Gone. Mindless. Lost. He was barely aware of the Jedi below him screeching, an echo of his own agony. Had he looked, he would have seen her reach out and up as if to grab the thing that had hurt Gorello--oh, gods, Gorello, no no no no--would have seen the being shudder to a stop in midair, only to slam into the side of the tower once, twice, five times, again and again and again until it was no longer identifiable as a being at all. As it were, all he could register were the rumbles of those impacts shaking through his boots, into his fingertips.

He'd watched a monster slice Gorello's arm clean off. He'd watched him fall. Watched him die. And just like before, he'd done nothing. Nothing. That boy, his boy, his Gorello was gone, and he hadn't even--there wasn't even a chance--

"Sergeant!"

The sound of the Jedi's voice was so far away, like it was coming from underwater. He shook his head, not wanting to hear it, not wanting to hear or see anything if it wasn't him, but it came again, too loud and shrill to ignore.

"Sergeant!!"

The Jedi was grabbing onto his boot, shaking it hard enough to make the rope wobble. "Your men need you," she said roughly. "I need you. We can save them, but we have to move!"

What? Save them? Dag didn't understand, but the Jedi let go of his boot and pointed down to the ground. The men from the cut line had landed in a pile at the base of the tower, with Gorello visible at the very top. The sight of the private, white-faced and bloody, sent yet another bolt through his heart, but this one was sharp, galvanizing, because the drop had been less than ten meters, probably not more than seven, and at the top of the pile of men Gorello was still moving. Feebly, barely, and with clearly great pain, but he was moving.

"You see it now?"
the Jedi said, and he did. He did. Sergeant Dag had seen what he needed to see, and now he'd be willing to follow this weirdo into hell if it meant saving his boy.

"What do we do?" he bellowed, already shouldering his rifle. A quick look around showed that one of the other monsters had taken to the air, gliding towards the other ropes. To their credit, his men weren't about to have more of them taken out the same way the first had. The lines were already swinging, in a way he recognized as being a less-nimble version of what the Jedi had shown them only minutes earlier. Even clumsy, their position gave them the advantage of being unpredictably mobile. One of the lines had even mastered the trick of slacking the rope to change directions in a second, leaving the monster burying their vibro-axe into the empty space their trajectory should have sent them. The beast howled in frustration, shrugging off the rubble as it pulled the axe loose, but the swing had robbed it of momentum, and apparently its repulsors couldn't support its weight in the air alone. It dropped, landing heavily next to the pile of men, and one of the other two took to the air in its place.

"They surrounded the tower, but they're only sending up one at a time. So they don't interfere with each other getting at us, see? And the way they're choosing targets, the fact that they're ignoring the ones that fell..." The Jedi fell silent in a way Dag was beginning to recognize; she peered down at the ground, watching the two Sithspawn there with a sharpness even he could feel. "I'm going down," she said suddenly. "Keep the men moving, and keep them LOUD. You want whichever one's in the air not knowing which direction they're swinging in. Yell, scream, fire any direction you want, but BE LOUD."

"What's that gonna do?"

"Hopefully enough."

With that, the Jedi reached down for her own feet, and without so much as an explanation kicked off one boot, then the other. Then, with a quick wrench of the rope at her ribs, she cut herself loose and dropped down silently to ground level. Once her feet were on the ground, she didn't go right for the monsters with her lightsaber, like Dag had expected. Instead, she tacked sideways, angling around nearby obstacles until she was behind the nearest one. She moved surprisingly quick for such a little thing--and without her boots, her footsteps didn't make any sound at all.

The Jedi was making a special effort to move quietly. The Jedi had told him to be loud.

And just like before, Dag suddenly understood.

He understood even before the Jedi sprang for the back of the nearest monster, landing squarely between the wings, and slid her sharp little fingers under the hinge of its helmet, into the tiny gap just under the chin. It bucked, but it couldn't reach around its own wings, it moved too slow to stop her from pulling, hard. The two grappled for a few desperate seconds, the beast flailing, the Jedi's arms shaking with the strain. When the helmet started to give it gave in pieces, each panel exposing some kind of tendril burrowing into the skin underneath. Those tendrils followed suit quickly--some of them pulling out out whole and slick with blood, others tearing like muscle. The helmet's faceplate finally gave way with fizzing wires and snapping tubes and spurts of mottled green fluid, and as the Jedi flung it away the monster gave a horrible strangled screech that said this helmet was far more crucial than simple head protection. The monster dropped the axe and dropped to its knees. It scrabbled desperately at its own face, and Dag now could see it had no eyes.

Blind. These damned things were blind. They were depending on the suits to hunt, through sensors or something. The Jedi had said she didn't want them knowing what direction they were swinging in, saying that they could manage that by being loud. Create enough chaos, muddle the air with enough pointless, hard-to-pinpoint noise, keep the suits from being able to tell good data from bad...

From the moment he understood, then, Sergeant Dag started screaming and never stopped.

He pushed off from the wall of the tower and swung, screaming the news to his men. They caught on quickly, to the broad strokes if not to the details. One repeated his cry, then another and another, until the entire battalion was howling 'blind, blind, karkin' blind' loud enough to echo off the walls. He shouldered his rifle and fired over and over, sometimes at the one on the ground, sometimes at the one in the air, sometimes at both when they traded off, and all the while he screamed. He screamed instructions, encouragements, nonsense phrases, ribald songs, obscenities in every tongue he knew, all the while dancing his line back and forth at random. He even threw one of his spare charges and set it off midair, and was pleased to find that two other soldiers had the same idea, exploding them near the beast like fireworks.
And it was working--Dag laughed when one missed him, howled his laughter right into its face, even daring a kick as it made its way back down for the tradeoff. Over on the other ropes, one, then another of the men fell to the axes, but that was fewer than it should have been, far far fewer, and even then they screamed like rebels all the way down.

Meanwhile on the ground, the Jedi was doing her job too. That first sneak attack had taken out the spare, but its dying had alerted the other two of the treat, and she'd finally regnited that lightsaber to take the one on the ground as it attacked. The beasts were bigger than her, well over a foot larger, the vibro-axes massive in their claws, but they couldn't match the fluidity and speed of the tiny Force-user. Wherever they swung, her scarlet blade was there to parry; wherever they moved, there she seemed to be, flying through the air like the ghost Gorello had claimed. In contrast to the men on the ropes, she made no sound as she traded blow after blow, staggering her attacks as they each took their turn at her. Before long, both of the remaining monsters' armor held glowing scoremarks where she had struck.
The fact that they were still taking turns, though, was a worry. Dag wondered, still screaming, if it were an advantage for them or not. Were they were too addled by the noise and confusion to switch tactics, or was this was a strategy to wear the Jedi out and keep the battalion too busy to help? But the Jedi seemed to consider this at the same moment he did, and must have decided to break the pattern before the pattern broke her. She landed from a high, arcing flurry of attacks, stutter-stepped back to put herself out of the range of an axe-swing. Dag almost called out in alarm when she reached for her own helmet next. But rather than take it off entirely, she tilted it just enough to expose her mouth to the air. As the monster roared, rounding back on her with its axe raised, she simply waited.

Sucked in a breath large enough to swell her lungs. Held it, her body shaking, until the moment the beast was on her.

Then the little Jedi opened her mouth and roared back in a Bellow loud enough to shake the tower stones.

Dag staggered, pulling at the rope to regain his footing, but the monster on the ground had no such luck. The Force of the Bellow hit it point blank, slamming into it with the impact of a train, and it hurtled backwards into the base of the tower. Before it could pry itself free, the Jedi was upon it. She used the moment of imbalance, to close the gap between them, raise her lightsaber and plunge it into the beast's blade-scored neck. The monster thrashed wildly, but for only a second. When the Jedi righted herself, it had already gone still.

Now all that was left was the one still in the air. Dag kept bellowing, his heart glad in his chest as the men all directed their fire at the beast gliding between them. The Jedi took the moment to put away her blade, but before Dag could wonder how she planned to kill this one without it, she threw both hands upwards like she was grasping the sky.

When her fists closed, the monster halted in the air only feet from the Sergeant, its body shuddering. It screamed at him; Dag screamed back, louder than ever, one last act of defiance.

Then the Jedi brought her hands down, furiously, once, twice, thrice, five times. The monster hurtled downwards, slammed into the ground once, twice, thrice, five times. Again and again and again, until it was no longer recognizable as a being at all.

The men fell silent. Dag fell silent, suddenly realizing that his throat was raw from all the noise. It hurt like hell. But then, you had to be alive to hurt like hell, didn't you?
At least, the Jedi would have agreed. She looked around, like she was looking for one more monster that needed killing. Once again, Dag found himself thinking that she looked a little lost.

When she looked back up at the men on the ropes, though, the moment had passed. It was like she'd finally assured herself the moment was safe for them. "You did good, boys," she said, breathing hard. Before she slid her helmet back down, Dag could see the shaky smile on her lips. "Now come get our wounded. We got places to be."

For once, Adrian was able to be stealthy, despite his aptitude for showmanship - as soon as battle was joined between the rebels and his Sithspawn, a message was dispatched to his shuttle, he activated his stealth... belt, and his companion led the way outside.

Focused as they were upon his monsters, he did not blame the rebel scum for their inability to see the shimmer that signified his presence as it followed a more invisible still presence through the shadowy corners of the central courtyard until it reached a set of external stairs, then silently made its way up towards the roof... well, mostly silently.

Maybe he wasn't perfect, but unlike Ingrid he'd hardly been trained for such tactics.

Smiling softly as he spotted his bodyguards looming over the broken bodies of a pair of infiltrators atop the roof - and broadly as the shuttle detached from his transport arrived - he turned towards the invisible redhead, tone playful. "It seems your carriage has arrived, my lady."

Noting the recent passing of the trio of Warriors with some surprise but finding the explanation in the presence of a Force User of some kind - she did not feel quite like any Jedi he had met - the Sith Lord could not help but send a telepathic message in her general direction.

"Not bad, not bad at all - if you ever tire of whichever silly brand of rebellion you currently adhere to, I'm sure the Sith could find a use for your talents."

She didn’t want this war…

Out there, the fight has finally begun. Ingrid nodded contentedly as Adrian activated his belt, if the man allowed it, she would put her own fingers between the man's fingers. She did this with that hand which fell towards the wall, so Adrian could move close to it. So that she might lead the sith lord, not to mention making it easier to protect the other.

Fortunately the terrain was not difficult and the sithspawns distracted the rebels quite well. However, it was unpleasant that their general was such a good Force user, she will have to notify them of this at some point. She chose the easiest terrain possible so Adrian could stay silent as well, or at least quite silent.

The earth continued to tremble, which did not make it easier to get to the right place. They reached the stairs, through which they could quickly ascend to the half-blown roof. Adrian's bodyguards were already there and some rebellious corpses as well, and finally the shuttle arrived. The explosion in the distance happened then, Ingrid turned her head in the direction of the landing zone.

She just hoped that there were as few of them as there were of their own, or of their own house. Adrian then turned to her, through the telepathic connection; the Sith Lord could feel that Ingrid was honestly surprised by the question. Under her helmet, her eyes also widened for a moment, before she suppressed that feeling perfectly. Nevertheless, she had a hard time finding the words, yet anyway, Adrian said them playfully.

”Do you really want me to go with you, my Lord?” her voice was also honestly surprised. ”If he ever find out I helped you…”

Her voice trailed off and she looked up at the bodyguards. She then realized that she was probably still holding Adrian's hand. So she pulled her fingers out of the man's, and just “dropped” her arm beside her. If Adrian says yes, she speaks a little bitterly.

”Then it seems as if you have kidnapped me… in that case, I can still go home later if things turn out that way, as if I had escaped from captivity. Would you instruct your bodyguards to shoot and beat me? Maybe if they tear off the armor from me it can be effective too…”

Nor did she try to hide how difficult it was to say these words, because they really were. That was not acting, that was a cursed truth! If Adrian agrees to this, she also removes her invisibility to make things easier for the sithspawns.

She didn’t want this war…

Plasmatic blades of crimson seared through plasteel armor and struck yet another three surviving Ultranauts down as they retreated through the thick the jungle. Tonight the beasts of the wild would have their fill. Armored boots guided the Sith to his victims and with his free hand he tethered himself to the dying troopers through the force, feasting one what little life they had left. With every traitor Venari returned to the force, Bastian was made safer and in truth, he was thankful for the timing of the Eternal Empire's betrayal. The element of surprise was now lost to them. The dark regime would have proved a far greater threat under the guise of a gathering war council on the capital only to spring their trap then or perhaps promising to reinforce against the NIO front only to support the Empire's enemies. The great pretender had been made a fool, he wanted the center stage spot against the Sith Empire and it was all too clear whomever had his ear offered Tacticus as much only to leave him to the wolves. The Eternal's potentially massive opening play had been wasted away for nothing. Short sightedness left the enemy weak. Was the intent behind their alliance not absolutely clear? While NIO troops had been littered into the mix of this folly attack, they hadn't brought their full might to bear. The Eternals had been made puppets left to die at the hands of the true Empire. A buffer that could only mean the Sovereign Imperator would soon strike again.

The barreling of myriad transport ships and other large vessels through the thunderous sky stood as the final desperate battle cry of the Eternals. At the least one could not say they weren't committed.

"Rally point's up ahead move, move!" More Ultranaut commands riddled through the jungle.

The amassing enemy would have to wait, for now the Sith Lord would cut off those existing ground forces that sought to bolster the new arrivals. Venari lowered to his haunches then launched himself further into the jungle deep. Sweeping overhead those rallying Ultranauts, the Sith Lord landed atop another tree branch. His floating arsenal sprung back to life and swept the five-man unit at knew level. Two were deprived their extremities while another spun at the whir of the blade.

"Above!" One shouted, letting of a burst of plasma fire.

Venari activated his personal saber and deflected the would-be headshots then dropped the grounds below.

"He's behind us, he's right behind us!"

"You could've stood among the great, instead you merely play the pawn," the Sith Lord muttered.

Crimson sabers spun about blocking each the Ultranaut's barrage. Venari darted in close and, with a spin, tore another trooper in half. From the furthest of the squad, one bolt slapped the Sith Lord's robes carrying him back a step. The alchemic nature of the garments left him unharmed but nonetheless the soldier would be commended with a swift death. Venari's free hand rose and let loose a bolt of Sith lightning frying the soldier in his armor. The last of the unit backed up firing wide.

"If I'm going down I'm-" Before he could finish his eyes set on the skies above.

The dark overcast was blown aside as the celestial sphere grew red with anger. A moment later a resounding boom blew through the jungle. Rapid winds grew hot Trees were torn from the ground as geysers of soil and mud took the air. With a raised hand Venari erected a shield of bogan power, pressing against the force of this rogue kinetic blast. He bared his teeth, pushing further until finally but he hadn’t put enough into the defense and ultimately was swept away. A moment later he crashed against a small rock formation. Signals of pain fired through his nervous system. The wash of kinetic energy had passed, leaving the world a blur. The Sith Lord's entirety pulsed and throbbed. The battered body proved difficult to command but did little to slow the mind, whatever had happened - it was an attack near the Eternals landing party.

And like that, the time had come.

Taozi ordered the jump, and stepped away from Sterling, though his hand lingered on her shoulder as long as it could, still giving her a small squeeze, as she took in the battle before them to give her orders. Sterling would not pretend to understand what he saw, or even begin to formulate an idea what they would be able to survive on this would-be suicide mission of sorts. Pierce the cloud of war, when they couldn't properly engage due to both ability and scale.

The idea of what could come sent shivers through his scales, being unable to do more than stand and watch as Taozi continued to let her anger speak while they could do no more than stand and hope death passed them by. Nothing that he could do would calm her, he surely knew that, but you didn't have to be as versed as him in body language to understand how desperately he wanted to do just that. His tail drooped, dragging behind him as he took just a few steps forward to again give her one more attempt at calming, as he had before already, before he too would step away.

In his heart and his mind, he let himself pray for the first time in years.

'Powers that Be, let fate be kind this day, let Taozi be spared her fate another day. Let today be not her story's ending, that she may see what danger sits beyond the threshold she stands upon. Protect Chieftain Tal, I beg of you, that her child may not live without his mother, that her tribe be not without her leadership. If one must end their story today, let it be the Demon, not the God.'

He took another another deep breath, and steeled himself for what was to come.

Her focus didn't even seemed to notice about that dance of animals in front of her. the Twi'lek had little interest in that, the eye, yellow as gold, remained in the aim of her weapon, but she didn’t dare aim Eris in the direction of the male, not in the beginning, she fired once with her cycle. three automatic shots at the weapon thrown by the golden hero at his pet. His intention with this was to neutralize one threat at a time, to systematically weaken his victim more and more, slowly draining his vitality, giving him small victories, small tastes of glory coming down his throat like poisoned wine so that she could make little effort to reap the fruits of your harvest.

As Saguine rose from his kneeling position, he sealed his two red lips with a loud whistle. Trained with that from a young age, the creatures raised their heads towards their master, one came running like lightning, still vital and whole, while the other creature hobbled up to Sanguine, half its body, like its front paw singed by the intense heat of the golden soldier's flamethrower. She bent down again, looking at her animals, her eyes assessing the damage of both creatures for a moment, while her lips broke into a smile.

"Interesting.", The arm spun quickly towards the injured creature, letting the disruptor fire its cycle against the middle of the animal's eyes. The other's surprised yelp almost gave Chills the back of the neck. “Typical mandalorian arsenal, I would say, but… their colors suggest something different… Sun Guard, perhaps? Yes?

His lips curved in a malicious smile, while one hand came free from the disruptor and went to his back. Her lekku started to wiggle behind her back.

“Pathetic excuse of a Mando Scum. Hopefully you are an Echani down there and that I can use.”, It was curious for her to remember that she had never dissected one of her kind. Even years ago she had never even achieved such specialization, the dissection of elfish humanoids was not something she could claim, at least not yet. “Pearls for the pigs, yes? Or better yet… A DAMN DISRUPTOR RIFLE FOR SITH SCUM!”, The last sentence she almost screamed as she raised her Eris, letting her finger sink into the trigger with more pure pleasure. But not as much as the pleasure of watching her triple guns spin like mad and smoke and gushing a flurry of red shots.

The air filled with the sound of gunshots and the desperate hum of Sanguine's laughter. The gun running around the sides as she tried to keep pace with the Sun Guard, but suddenly removing her finger from her trigger and noticing. If it strikes its victim with that weapon, the creature's atoms would fall apart at the atomic level, making it miss a beautiful opportunity to study a new specimen.

"But if I use a flamethrower, it should be fine, yes?", Her voice said to herself. Dropping the gun immediately to the ground, not even caring about the metallic bang of its impact. Sanguine's arm stretched out to the side, grabbing the flamethrower's fist and using all the strength of his arms to lift the weapon, a huge wide smile on his cruel lips, which soon fell apart when she realized her weight. Sanguine would not be able to move with that weapon.

The fingers instinctively went to the Nelvaanian sword at his waist, drawing the one from its sheath and lifting the energy shield from his wrist. Whatever it was the old way, she cared little more about how she solved it as long as she solved it soon.
"A dance it is.", She declared a little disappointed, as she lifted the blade in front of her face and rolled it to the side, lowering her body in an honorable bow and murmuring in a sober voice. “Allow me to introduce myself, I’m Sanguine Nocturnal, Directrix of Department of Technology in the Eternal Empire. Would you allow me to freely to do what I please with you after you died, yes?”

Without waiting a moment for an answer, she acted. Using his right foot, Sanguine put all the momentum of his energy to leap forward, covering the distance between the two with a single foot, while she raised her blade in the sky, firmly held in her fingers, descending with a single blow against the man. And using its links, if it jumped to the right, it would find the hungry nexu running directly in that direction in one jump, and if it went to the left, it would be able to easily start exchanging blows with it. Everything in life was that, possibilities and probabilities. Chance.

Finally. After much longer than Broka wanted his ships to leave the system, it appeared the ships he sent were on the very edge of the field preventing their escape. Broka was sitting frustrated on his throne back home on Nar-Shaddaa, and this showed through his holo-projection on the bridge of the Chelandion flagship. Then, the signals became normal in comparison to being in the the field. They have flown past the edge. It was now time for the ships to jump into hyperspace. Now they get to go home.

Broka won this day. It did not matter if the Eternal Empire or the Sith won. His organization fulfilled the job they were hired to do here to the letter, and the ships escaped intact. The captain on the bridge gave the order, and the the six ships jumped into hyperspace, back to across the galaxy in Hutt Space. Now Broka sat back with ease, and relief. This escapade of his prized fleet is over. There was no nonrepairable damage on the runners, and the flagship was not blown to pieces. These ships were expensive, and it was good to not see them blown up across the galaxy. He would not have to use the credits promised to him by the Imperials to buy replacements if the worst case scenario happened.

All this success was working up an appetite though. So, the colossal Hutt motioned to his servants to bring him food, and banquet for himself was wheeled over on a tray. When it was in position in front of him, Broka began gorging on it almost like a ravenous animal.

With the way this ‘mission’ had been talked about, she’d expected to have been out of bandages by now. Or dead. But she didn’t dwell on the thought long, lest she accidentally will it into reality as she hunched down to apply some cooling disinfectant salve to the badly burned wrist that’d been thrust in her face.

Nova checked her pockets as the soldier hustled away, taking quick stock of what was left, which was most of it. Even your most basic Eternal Empire foot soldier was very capable. Most didn’t seek out a medic unless it was truly horrific or really interfering with their abilities.

She craned her neck, watching the surface-to-orbit missiles rocket through the atmosphere with deadly purpose. Maybe she was still in shock from the crash, but Nova felt hollow observing the scene, knowing full well the destruction they’d bring. There should have been something, patriotic excitement, hope, pity for their enemy, fear… instead there was a vacuum. In the quiet moments between patching cuts and setting bones, it seemed to expand, swallowing any emotions that did break the surface, leaving her numb and disconnected.

Perhaps this was what her elder sister had been trying to explain to her, the phenomena that’d left her so…cold when she’d returned home.

Standing around doing nothing didn’t help the matter, Nova decided. Moving did. So the medic picked up her pack, pulled out her handheld scanner, and marched herself towards the first person who looked like they needed help.

Just do your job, she thought, the voice in her head monotone. Do, don’t think.

As the woman laid there oblivious to the world outside her mind she began to dream incomplete memories.

A slap cam across her face knocking the girl to the floor, her own hand raising to the cheek clenching where the pain would come from. The dream continued to her reading and training with every moment not under the vision of the sith slave owner. Her feelings of hate the desire of survival fueled the girl. Once more the dream did not stopped as it moved on. The sight of the man stood by the desk that quickly turned into her throwing hot food and drink at him as she charged with a knife. A move that was all for nought as she got sent flying back. in the blink of an eye things changed further the man was stop trying to prye the saber from her hands sill it ignited, although on the sound came out feeling distant of the hum it made.

The dream had completely changed. This one was worse than the once before as her surroundings was filled with a dingy and low lit room. It was hazy from the drugs that pumped through her to keep her paralyzed. The pain remembered in this memory was intense, it was bringing the woman back to the feeling of the flesh on her hands sliced open and gashes down her back. The Lamanium been wrapped around each bone in her hand and nails been torn off to make room for the remodeling by the captor. Her back throbbed as some kind of experimental orb of flesh attached itself inside the wound.

All the outside world see in these moments was the sweat that came down Teresa's the small movements in her body that showed struggle and the expressions showing that what was coming through her head was not pleasant. Teresa's eyes opened confused and in a haze as to what was happening. Stood above her at the side was Xanesh and around them flames that was been diverted around them. Her eyes of black and orange focused on the struggle of the womans face as blood ran down from her nose. She was doing everything to not just protect herself but Teresa too. Instinct had been right to rust her.

As Xanesh fell to the floor on her knees Teresa pressed the yellow circular button upon her wrist. A hand reached out just catching the sith lords knee by the tip of her finger as if to grasp her attention for a moment. "Thank you." She said quietly that could not be heard over the deafening sounds all around. Even though it could not be heard the lip movements was obvious to what she had said. Her eyes met with that of the Sith lords who was now also exhausted. As the girl moved to sit up in a world that kept spinning from dizziness. She leaned closer towards the sith lord. "My shuttle will be here in a moment. I've called it to us." She said now closer to ensure the words was heard.

Teresa looked around at the scorched ground with deep scars. "Looks like it is our chance to get away. I don't think I could take another step. How about you?" Teresa said before flopping back down onto one of her wings and extended the other out incase Xanesh fell to allow a softer landing.

Moff Tithe, now armed and armoured, hurried out through the entrance of the observation post and half dived-half tripped to get behind cover. The battle was a maelstrom of chaotic energy. Sith-Imperial soldiers and battle droids pounded the Eternal Empire’s positions, who answered with counter-barrages and the arrival of more dropships. The ground continued to shake underneath his feet thanks to the aftermath of a massive Force Storm - the word from the command post was that Ardana Vorco Ardana Vorco was the responsible party. Rebels harried the Sith defenders as they retreated from the outpost, now aware that they had been lured there under false pretences.

And because this was the Sith Empire, whose unofficial motto was ‘Overkill’, Dark Councillor AMCO AMCO had unleashed his terrifying Sithspawn to stalk the battlefield.

All-in-all, this was no place for a career bureaucrat. Tithe would need to make this quick.

He spotted his target, a Mandalorian identified by the command centre as R Reyn Australis , son of K Kaine Australis . Dealing a killing blow to a hero of such renown would help to elevate Tithe’s position within the Sith-Empire, perhaps even more so than the lucrative contract he had just negotiated with Malicar Malicar .

Then again, a ferocious battle was raging all around him. Alone, untrained in combat and armed only with an oversized metal club, Aerarii could see a million things that could go wrong. Every time he peaked behind cover, he saw another justification to fall back to the safety of the Observation Post. Everything out here had the potential to kill him, be it a stray blaster bolt, the ground collapsing underneath him, a poorly timed bombing run, one of Adrian’s manic Sithspawn…

No. High-yield investments, both on the stock market and in regaining his reputation, took gall and decisiveness. Who knew when another opportunity such as this would present itself. Reyn was at his most vulnerable, stuck behind cover and cut off from his allies.

Tithe thumbed the activation stud on his SI-HB-2 Power Mace, which hummed to life in an electrifying display of carnage. He powered up a small device fitted around the grip of the power hammer - an AvXRD Melee Weapon Assist produced by Avernus Avernus . The device would help guild the Moff’s weapon and adjust for the inevitable user error.

Screaming out an ancient and rarely used Aargauun battlecry - because what citizen of Aargau would waste their time fighting when there was money to be made? - Aerarii leapt from behind cover and charged toward Reyn.

He wasn’t even a couple of meters into his charge when a blaster bolt caught him square in the centre of his gammaplast and knocked him to the ground. He was unconscious before he even hit the ground.

Taeli watched impassively as the barrage began from her ships, even as the enemy began their jamming yet again. Honestly, every commander of any fleet nowadays thought that electronic warfare, sensor and comm jammings, and so on were the keys to success. Gravity well generators from both forces were active, so it seemed a bit silly to her for the enemy to activate theirs at the moment. Gravity did not discriminate what ships it stopped or pulled upon. But there was something to be said about trying to fight two enemy forces by yourself.

"Looks like heavy damage on one of their destroyers, and a cruiser destroyed," Lord Admiral Sentongo muttered from beside the Lady of Secrets. Their position afforded them, even with jamming on their sensors, a very good view of the enemy what they planned to do from their viewports. Not that it mattered to her.

"Enemy fire incoming!"

The Eternal ships reacted, their bottom mounted weapon systems obliterating three of the Bolt-V corvettes that were screening the Haazen. The Haazen itself started guttering out flames as missiles and torpedoes through its weakened shields and cracked it in half. All those lives lost suddenly. The enemy continued, more missiles and torpedoes streaking out to explode against the Ommin, its starboard side shooting out debris and fires into the vacuum, but it wasn't quite dead in the water yet.

"It would appear Lady Alekto is attacking our jamming problem," Taeli mused aloud. She couldn't feel them in the Force, they were Vong after all, but that meant they left a distinct lack of anything as they moved. If one was trained and sued to being near Vong, as a veteran of the One Sith would be, it was second nature to track the void in the currents instead of the individual presences.

Another corvette, the Claw was ruptured from a well-placed hypervelocity round through the bridge, it's death spiral to burn up in the atmosphere of the world beginning as gravity took its due.

"Our shields are holding at 67%, my Lady. Vilip communications from the rest of the task force is coming with damage reports from their barrage. But we're still blind while our countermeasures clear out their jamming. Won't be long."

"Then we shall provide some eyes for our people," Taeli replied, closing her eyes and connecting with the dark side parody of a Force meld she had instructed her Order of Shadows on how to create. Scattered among the ships of her task force were her Sith acolytes and adepts, all of them either on a bridge or near a gunnery crew. It was something they had employed to great effect during the siege of Mygeeto during the storms there.

For all of the enemy ships contained life, large concentrations as only starships could be, and that made them easy to sense. From their mistress, the command to fire came. They would not rely upon such crude instruments as sensors until they were cleared. The Force would guide the unleashed salvo from the turbolasers, mass drivers, and all the other types of missiles, torpedoes, and hypervelocity rounds employed by their forces, all the more accurate this time and spread out to cause as much devastation on the enemy formation as possible. It was a slugging match that the Eternal fleet couldn't keep up with her attacks and Alekto, not by itself...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Air Marshal Visena Triia was not amused with the situation. She had launched with the first flight of Sith starfighters to help establish the defensive screen to keep the enemy fighters and bombers off Task Force 74. Not that it seemed to matter as the enemy sent most of their fighters barreling into the Vong's teeth if what she was seeing from their efflux trails told her. Damn targeting jamming though. Meant a pilot could only rely on their eyes and their squadron wingmates, and hand signals until the bigger guns did their work.

A spectacle of sustained heavy fire from the Sorzus Syn and its attending Star Destroyers and cruisers began to lance through the limited space up into the enemy formation. That was when the missile flew right past her fighter to impact against the Derriphan as it provided deflector shield coverage for the core Sith ships. The shield frigate started leaking atmosphere from the explosion, but was still in working order. Another explosion further off looked like another missile strike.

Gesturing at her wingmate, she made the sign for missile and then intercept. Suddenly, she cringed as a foreign presence entered her mind. The Sith adept attached to squadrons to keep them connected to whatever meld sorcery Lady Raaf was working on this time.

Lady Arcanix wishes us to intercept the missiles, the message is being sent to all defensive fighters.

Oh is that all? Triia knew it normally wouldn't an issue, but with targeting being jammed, it meant relying on their eyes. Made it trickier, but they had plenty of fighters out here. Her finger depressed on the trigger of her fighter's flight stick, green lasers flashing and detonating a missile before it could through the screen.

Tell the others to form up into concentric formations, three tiers so if they slip through one or two, the third can keep damage to a minimum, she ordered the Adept attached to her squadron. The message would be relayed along the meld, the Sith fighters breaking into their positions, lasers flashing. Another Bolt-V corvette was blown apart, but they were moving to support their interception mission. The larger corvettes kept their screening place among the core formations.

Suddenly another Bolt-V, nowhere near the attack from the ships, but on the outer edge of the task force, exploded. She hadn't seen missile trails heading for it...

Missiles are drifting in, stay alert!

“Now the ‘fun’ begins…”

"Touché," Karisa answered smartly as the light freighter broke out of the lower atmosphere and into the upper where the main theater of naval battle was raging. There was a ship to ship slugfest and dogfighting going on.

Malicar was a very skilled pilot and especially behind the controls of his baby, who he knew inside and out. She trusted him with her life, but still -the path before them was not going to be easy to get through unscathed.
“55% shields to starboard," Malicar called out as he evasively flew the ship out of the direct line of fire of some starfighters going after one another.

"On it..." she responded, though it wasn't a moment or two later that a turbolaser strike blossomed just a few hundred meters below the Shadow Hammer's belly, sending a shudder throughout the ship.

"Okay, now that was a little too close for comfort," she exclaimed in a calm voice yet inside a bit of anxiety was beginning to build as her fingers flew across the dials to reallocate and balance out the coverage of the shields again.

Crimson orbs briefly checked the damage-control board. It was still all in the green. Thank the Force.

"Correction 50% with no damage alerts noted though now the comm frequencies are being jammed it seems. Looks to be from Sith Imperials...

Just then the crimson fury of a rolling barrage erupted ahead and began to advance towards the Hammer.

"Watch out!" she cried out urgently though Malicar was already taking evasive actions sending the light freighter into a steep dive to avoid being struck.

The barrage passed over the stern, bucking their ship hard and straining her body up against the crash webbing. A glowing red disk appeared ahead now, then quickly expanded into a sheet of half-molten metal that had once been part of a... corvette?. A few escape pods sprayed from the ruptured vessel like shooting stars along with bodies into the void of space. Momentary fists of flames kept punching out through the breaches in the hull until it was completely engulfed as the ship's remains began to burn up in the atmosphere upon reentry.

It was a gruesome sight to observe and hoping upon hope that didn't happen to them because there was still too much-unfinished business the Chiss needed to sort out between them personally... They just had to find a way out of there. This just couldn't be their end, not this day.

"I know this isn't the time nor the place... but Malicar, I want to have a child," Karisa blurted out very uncharacteristic of her, leaving that bit of mic dropped information to hang in the tension-filled air for a tick before adding. "To carry on the Sabosen line of my late father that is. I thought you should be aware of this future desire of mine."

The Chiss noblewoman was sure the shipping mogul's reaction would be priceless be it positive or negative.

She was still gasping for air, hated that if she had to overwhelm herself without being able to "eat" properly before. And here she could not, their own old bodies might have withstood all this better, but the body of this child was much more fragile. Xanesh wiped the blood flowing from her nose, at that moment she heard the disciple's voice. A shuttle, it seemed that the child might even be useful.

”That's great!” she replied.

She tried to stand up, managed to kneel for the first time, after that came the harder part, she was a little tired though. If her life had been in danger, she would not have been such an old woman, but now apparently she no longer had to worry about it. She finally managed to stop at her feet. The beautiful vegetation was over in this area how many valuable plants and animals were lost there that they could not yet examine. And if they are nowhere else on the planet, they are lost forever. What a shame! She hoped that someone would save the samples they had collected earlier, or complete research into recent times would prove futile. Which would also be unfortunate. After looking around, she answered the child's words.

”If you gave us some victims from whom we can drain their life force, we'll be fine” she said.

Fortunately she was proficient enough in such a field that it would be enough for her, until she answered the shuttle also appeared and landed a little farther, where there was no danger of the rift breaking under its weight. Xanesh turned away from the battlefield and walked to the shuttle, she looked around the environment once more. There were many possibilities on the planet, so she definitely wanted to come back here later. When her disciple joins to her on the board of the shuttle, she gave the order to the pilot:

”Let’s go to the fleet, find a safe ship for us away from space combat!” she ordered.

The shuttle took off from the ground and set off for the fleet…
