ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Versatile Destroyer: The Marr-class is a robust and capable Star Destroyer, quicker than other Sith-Imperial ships its size and packing some decent firepower to boot. Unlike its predecessor, the Ascendant-class Star Destroyer, the Marr II-class could field a maximum of eight starfighter squadrons from lateral portside and starboard hangar bays as well as its standard ventral hangar.
WEAKNESSES
  • Rear Blind Spot: Like all Imperial warships designs to emulate the ancient Galactic Empire, the Marr-class lacks dedicated weaponry near its engines. A commander should always press the attack, and never retreat unless total defeat is unavoidable.
DESCRIPTION

The Marr-class Star Destroyer was a marvel of Sith-Imperial engineering, built upon the foundations laid by predecessor Sith states and the naval geniuses of the First Order. Since its introduction into the Sith Armada, it had served dutifully as the backbone of the Empire's conquests and campaigns across the cosmos. At one-thousand-eight-hundred-and-fifty-six meters from prow to stern, the Marr-class was longer and much bulkier than contemporary Imperial Star Destroyers, most of which preferred to rest at one-point-six kilometers. It also possessed a series of lateral hangar bays in conjunction with its singular ventral bay, which could launch an entire starfighter wing of strike fighters and interceptors as well as two additional squadrons comprised entirely of bombers. This was enough to provide the Marr-class with a suitable fighter escort without the aid of additional support vessels, making it well-suited for independent operations.
When the Empire began to modernize it's Armada, which had seen a gradual change over the past decade of innovation, the Marr-class was one of the first ships to undergo reevaluations. Its hull composition was strengthened, and its weapon-systems increased and symmetrically spread across both dorsal and ventral hemispheres. Internal systems, which had suffered as upgrades were sporadically applied to some areas while others languished, were made uniform, and had their interfaces simplified which cut down on crew requirements, although not to the same extent as the recently produced Tormentor-class Star Destroyer. An optimal crew ranged around twenty-five thousand officers, deckhands, technicians, and other naval personnel, but the Marr was capable of operating at minimum efficiency with only a crew of five-hundred if need be. Typically, these variances in crew composition were dependent upon the warship's role, with vessels relegated to low-threat systems being crewed to a lesser degree than those in a high-risk system.
An enlarged internal bay also enabled the disembarkation of large ground vehicles, which could be used to supplement or even spearhead ground invasion maneuvers. Built into the roof of the ventral hangar was a specialized turbolaser cannon that, when charged sufficiently, could fire a concentrated beam of energy powerful enough to bore through shields and cut through starship plating. The disadvantage of this weapon was immediately evident, as it was placed on the inside of the Marr's ventral hangar and not on the outside hull. This was partially done to provide greater defense for the warship's underbelly, which frequently served as the focus of enemy attack, and because the power generators needed to power the weapon were safer deeper within the ship than closer to the outer hull that an externally mounted cannon would require.
The Marr-class Star Destroyer carried a complement of hundreds of tanks and smaller vehicles alongside dozens of walker variants. The ventral hangar bay of the Marr was capable of docking two Phi-class heavy dropships, which were used to ferry the destroyer's complement of ground vehicles to and from the battleship. An entire battlegroup of Imperial Legionnaires was garrisoned on a single Marr, a large enough force to assault most planetary facilities. They were provisioned by a minimum of six years of consumables and nearly forty-thousand metric tonnes of cargo.

Looks good.

Two of these most notable designs include a stygian crystal cloaking device and gravity well projectors, with plenty more rumored to secretly be in construction.

These specific variants may require their own submissions in the future, especially if they're going to be used competitively.
