Code Of Silence

The Jewel of Moonveil’s Crown, “The Spire” towered over Coruscant’s landscape, stabbing skyward like an ancient obelisk to some long-forgotten deity. Ships of every size, inhabited by beings from across the Galaxy, criss-crossed through the sky - going about their daily lives unconcerned with the happenings behind the scenes within the grand Galactic Capital. The impressive structure dominated an entire section of the skyline, with its impressive array of Holo-Net Broadcast Towers at its very apex. The powerful antennas were responsible for providing much of Coruscant’s Holo-Net Access, and also provided a direct uplink to Moonveil’s satellites - which orbited around the glittering ecumenopolis in High Orbit.
Employees of the powerful Corporation staffed the building at all hours of the day, with activity dwindling only somewhat during the night. With the bright mid-day sky overhead, Moonveil’s offices were abuzz with activity. Beings from across the Galaxy passed beneath the wide arch-way of diamond-crusted concrete which decorated the promenade outside, coming & going in pursuit of private business with the Mega-Corp, while the offices & hallways of the towering Spire were alive with voices chattering away.
High above Coruscant, in the top-most levels of the grand obelisk, overlooking the wide open sky & urban sprawl, the most powerful members of Moonveil’s Corporate Elite were unconcerned with the hive below their feet… Instead, they had greater concerns upon their minds. Namely, the mysterious visitors arriving in droves - unfamiliar faces, each well-dressed & bearing the highest clearance, and each settling themselves into one of Moonveil’s finest meeting rooms on the Penthouse Level. Joining them, standing guard & ensuring only a select few gained entry, Moonveil’s professional APD - The Asset Protection Division - stood silently; masked sentinels of authority.
Already present within the meeting room, seated upon a lush sofa of the finest Corellian Leather, Ivory Stroud - Donna of The Family - greeted each individual who entered with a smile and an offer of refreshments; an open bar to one side of the room, near one of the massive floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city below, was readily stocked with the finest refreshments money could buy. One could even find an entire cabinet stocked with Fiora-Brand Liquors… which Ivory had availed herself of, cradling a crystal glass of the finest Fiora ‘Mogano’ Bourbon.
The Donna wore her customary dress, double-breasted coat buttoned across her midsection, and wide-brimmed black Fedora which dipped low over her eyes. Her hair, colored so black it seemed to absorb every ounce of light cast upon it, cascaded down her back in an intricately-braided tail which must have taken her hours to complete. Upon her feet were a pair of expensive heels with silver buckles (to match the silver buttons on her coat), and around her belly was a black belt with an intricately engraved silver clasp. Upon one finger on her left hand, she wore the symbol of her Station - The Black Hand, a Signet Ring which bore the symbol of The Black Oak upon it - and hanging from her bare throat upon a silver chain hung a sparkling violet stone which matched her eyes; a Kyber Crystal, which vibrantly pulsed with its own internal fire.
Seated beside her, her Caporegime & Second-in-Command,

While one would meet the uniformed officers outside, none were present within - instead, black-suited bodyguards (each a Veteran of The Syndicate’s power-base) stood guard over the proceedings; two moving about the room like wraiths, while a handful of others had taken up positions in the background.
The Donna had “requested” every member of The Family’s inner circle be present in this meeting… which, strangely, did not take place within their customary secure location beneath The Star Lounge. Instead, she’d instructed that each member of the criminal Syndicate dress their finest and issued them secure clearance which would take them to the very heights of Coruscant’s skycutters. One would not do well to be late or fail to show…
