//: DOSSIER - DESCRIPTION //:
Ivory Stroud has lived two entirely different lives in the time she has been alive. In her first life, she was a Jedi named Drystan Marakos Drystan Marakos - a Jedi Shadow, trained in Espionage and serving as one of the Silver Jedi Order’s top-most Deep Cover Operatives. Having been born & raised in poverty on a poor, anarchic back-water planet in the Outer Rim, a 10-year-old Drystan began her journey into the ranks of the Jedi after defending a young boy from violent thugs; hefting a metal pipe and using it to bludgeon the attackers into unconsciousness. A passing Jedi Master, on a mission with the Silver Jedi Order, witnessed the event and, having recognized a spark of The Force in the girl, offered her a life unlike any she could have imagined. Fifteen years later, she had become a Jedi Knight: first becoming a Sentinel, then being selected to join the ranks of the prestigious & secretive Jedi Shadows. She has all-but mastered the arts of espionage, subversion, and infiltration - using these skills to seek out, engage, and destroy threats to Galactic Peace as a trained operative for Justice. Alongside her colleagues, she would go on to further develop her skills; plying her trade against such enemies as The Empire, and the ever-present threat of the Sith.

Some time during this phase of her life, a mysterious invitation addressed to her criminal alias appeared, catching the Shadow’s eye. The Jedi Knight would attend what she’d later go on to describe as a “Recruitment Opportunity”, and would further meet the mysterious & alluring woman known only as “The Donna”. A dark, secretive organization known as “The Family” had been seeking recruits from the ranks of the Galaxy’s Criminal Underworld, and under the moniker “Crocell” (a terrorist & career criminal wanted in numerous star systems for a multitude of crimes), the Jedi Shadow would both attend and further be offered an entry-level position within this highly-organized, dark, and mysterious cult-like organization.

This chance meeting would go on to entirely change her fate, and the course of her life, forever.

Assisted by resources available to her within the Jedi Shadows as well as a plethora of skills acquired over a long career as a professional spy, “Ivory Stroud” would dive deeper into the dark & dangerous underbelly of the Galactic Underworld than she’d ever gone before. She began to distinguish herself, surpassing her fellow recruits almost immediately, and drawing the attention of not only “The Donna”, but her Caporegime - her “bosses”. Ivory would participate in murders, organize rackets, and wield intimidation, cunning, occasional violence, and cleverness in equal measure - developing a reputation in the dark world The Family inhabited. Over the course of three years, Drystan would go on to juggle a double-life as both a Jedi Knight & a professional criminal; providing regular updates on her progress within the Organization to her superiors within the Order. Her efforts, not only within The Family, but successfully aiding in the defense of Commenor against a combined assault of the Bryn’Adul & Sith, would earn her the rank of Master.

This act of trust by the Silver Jedi, however, came at a price.

Drystan’s objective, to bring down The Family by any means necessary and end their insidious strangehold over the Galaxy, was to enter its third and final phase.

Whether it was merely timing or the machinations of The Force, an opportunity would soon arise for the Jedi Master to do just that. Shortly following Drystan’s private promotion to Master, she would further be offered an equally-private (but far more ominous) invitation by The Donna herself to join the ranks of The Family’s highest echelons: To become Underboss of The Family, and The Donna’s right-hand in all matters.

Ivory accepted, and both she & The Donna (finally introducing herself fully as a Ghurlainin named Ahtemis) disappeared into the depths of a nebula far from civilized space. What followed was a strange, pseudo-spiritual ritual involving a shedding of blood & an oath of loyalty - not only to The Donna, but to The Family itself. The Donna explained that it was a ‘family tradition’, and shared a number of secrets with Ivory… among them, being The Donna’s true identity as a Force User, and a Shapeshifter.

It was at this time that cracks would begin to show in Drystan’s private life. The pressures of a double-life, especially one lived on the razor’s edge of Life & Death, began to weigh heavily on her head. As “Ivory Stroud” began to grow in power within The Family, Drystan Marakos began to fade. Reports began to come less frequently. When they did come, they contained less & less useful information.

A year after her promotion to Underboss, Drystan’s leadership within the Silver Jedi had grown increasingly concerned, and had begun to discuss the possibility of removing her from the field - ending her association with the Galaxy-wide Criminal Syndicate and seeking other options to bring the powerful Mafia to its knees.

Again, for the second time, The Force would have the final say.

Without warning, The Donna announced her retirement from the Organization. This sent ripples throughout the shadowy group as, surely, the resulting power vacuum could have set off an internal war… but, by surprise, The Donna named her successor. Her Underboss, Ivory Stroud, who’d brought The Family wealth, power, and connections, would rise to take on the title of “The Donna” in her stead. The proposal was met with equal parts surprise and approval by a majority of The Family’s members, and within a month, the transfer of power was complete. Drystan, as Ivory, would take command of The Family…

It did not take long, however, for the Jedi to capitalize on this development.

Months after Ivory’s promotion to the head of the Syndicate, The Family would be rocked by weeks of unending raids on their assets across the Galaxy as an immense task-force consisting of Alliance Marshals & Military coordinating with local planetary governments descended upon safehouses, businesses, and numerous smaller operations in an effort to wipe them from the Galaxy. Billions in credits-worth of resources, from weapons & vehicles to real-estate, ships, and a fortune in stolen goods & illicit substances were seized. Hundreds of The Family’s members were either killed or arrested. The Caporegime, The Family’s ‘bosses’ were either killed or fled.

The Donna herself vanished without a trace.

Five years passed...

In that time, The Family had all but faded from Galactic Memory. Its surviving members drifted further & further from the underworld society which had given them purpose. A home. A place to belong.

All of that changed, however, when Ivory Stroud reappeared on Coruscant.

Since that fateful day, she has been the single constant within The Family. Wearing the trademark wide-brimmed hat once worn by her predecessor, Ivory has become a symbol of rebirth for what was once a rag-tag group of criminals loosely allied under a single banner. Years have passed since, and in present times, The Family has, in many ways, regained & surpassed the level of influence, wealth, and power they once had - wielding a network of surveillance, political power, and violence like an iron fist in a velvet glove. Ivory, now in her late 30’s, has matured; blossoming into a powerful woman equally respected and feared. She is a natural leader who supports those under her charge, but also quickly punishes any who fail to follow the iron-clad Code of Conduct members of The Family are expected to adhere to. She is involved in almost every aspect of The Family’s daily operations, but is supported by her very own Caporegime - individuals whom she trusts, and shares a life with deep in the shadows.

Any trace of the Jedi Drystan Marakos has been entirely erased; scrubbed clean not only from the records of the Silver Jedi, but from anywhere in the Galaxy. For all intents & purposes, she might as well have never existed at all.
