What's In Your Head?: The Tinfoil hat is designed to detect the unusual brain activity associated with effects of force based mentalism, at which point it will paralyze the specific section of the wearer’s forebrain affected by these abilities, with the aim of preventing the intrusion at the point of inception.
WEAKNESSES
Where Is My Mind?: The Tinfoil operates by comparing readings to a baseline established within the first minute of wearing the device. Obviously, if the user has already been affected by mentalism when they put this device on, this baseline will be skewed and its effectiveness compromised.
No Further ECT Required: The Tinfoil hat is subject to ionic/EMP energy. Because of the sensitive nature of the device and how it interacts with the brain, exposure to this kind of energy may negatively affect the user as well. Intense migraines, extreme disorientation and even mild brain damage are entirely possible.
DESCRIPTION
Despite what the market name for this device might suggest, the Tinfoil Hat actually isn’t made of tinfoil and would likely make for a very poor substitute for a hat in the most loosest of sense. Potential false advertisement aside, however, the device nevertheless can come in handy for those individuals looking to protect themselves from the rampant abuse of force users attempting to scrambling the old brain pan.
Comprised of an adjustable ring that sits around the wearer’s head, much like a questionably fashionable circlet, the Tinfoil Hat monitors brain activity and constantly compares it to a previously established baseline. In doing so, it is designed to detect the specific activity in the forebrain that is indicative of force tampering, upon which time it will paralyze the section in question and thus negate the attempt.
Due to the compact and adjustable size of the device, it could be potentially worn under a hat, helmet or similar piece of headgear. A talented individual might even be able to conceal and incorporate it into a more stylish headdress.
