OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Planet Name: Kestri
  • Demonym: Kestran
  • Region: Wild Space
  • System Name: Kestri
  • System Features:
    • Kestri Prime: The sun of the Kestri system, Kestri Prime is a small, yellow dwarf star and is estimated to have formed around three-and-a-half billion years ago.
    • Kestri: The main planet of the Kestri system. Used to be a temperate and beautiful world before it was plunged into an Ice Age by the technology of Clan Kyron.
      • Inuyahya'baar: The moon of Kestri, named 'Amethyst Body,' which hosts a system-wide communications station and accompanying support facilities. Every so often the moon will appear a shade of amethyst in the Kestrian night, a regular-occurring shift in the chemical composition of Kestri's atmosphere, interacting with how the light reflects from Saviin'baar. This occurrence is known as an 'Amethyst Moon' and is where the name for the moon is derived.
    • Kestran Asteroid Belt: An asteroid belt that rings the system, separating Kestri from Kestri II. It may contain commonly found metals, but no records exist of the belt's mineral composition.
    • Kestri II: A lifeless rock on the edge of the Kestri system, Kestri II has a very thin atmosphere and low gravity. The planetoid may contain commonly found metals, but like the asteroid belt, no records exist of Kestri II's mineral composition.

LOCATION INFORMATION
  • Capital City: Tor Valum
  • Planetary Features:
    • Cin'ciri Mountain Range: The Cin'ciri Mountain Range is a prominent geographical feature of Kestri, consisting of tall craggy mountains and deep, sloping valleys. Rich with mineral ore, it was the chief area that was settled by the original Mandalorian colonists who discovered Kestri. The Enclave has continued the tradition of chiefly settling this area, as it is not only resource-rich, but the mountains provide ample protection from Kestri's hostile climate.
      • Link | Vong Dead Zone: A massive valley carved out by the Jibr Glacier, the Vong Dead Zone is a quarantined area where the planet's remaining population of mutated Yuuzhan Vong has been corraled. Nested in a crashed worldship that sank into the glacier over thousands of years, it is the Vong's largest breeding ground with an expansive tunnel network carved into the ice from the Worldship. Too great of a force for Mandalorians to clear out and exterminate, the Vong are contained and used as fodder for Si'kayha commandos in training.
    • Cin'haastal Mountain Range: The Cin'haastal Mountain Range is a long, secluded mountain range, separated from the larger Cin'ciri range by the Htagir Sea and the windswept Grulvhetin plains. Named after a long tall spine of mountains in the middle of the range called the 'White Scar,' the Cin'haastal Mountain Range is much more sparsely settled than the Cin'ciri Mountain Range, considered rugged frontier territory even by Kestrian standards.
      • Cin'haastal Spine: The Cin'haastal spine is a long line of mountains directly in the middle of the mountain range from which the entire range derives its name. The highest 'ridgeline' of mountains on Kestri, apart from Mt. Valum, the spine is windswept and craggy with the summits devoid of any life or civilization.
      • Da'lepar Valley: A low-lying, densely-wooded valley in the middle of the mountain range. Thick moss grows under the snow and on the trunks of the trees in the valley, which sustains local animal populations. The valley, like the rest of the mountain range, is sparsely settled with many pockets of wilderness yet to be explored.
      • Me'suum'ika Tkadetr River: The Moon-mirror river cuts through the Da'lepar valley, running from tributaries beginning in the spine, widening throughout the valley until it meats the Htagir Sea. With a deep, dark flow of ice water, the river effectively separates the valley into two. Crossing is possible at the Vurel Ford where the river is shallow enough to be crossed on the back of an orbak.
    • Grulvhetin Plains: A low-lying expansive flat of land, the Grulvhetin plains were once an expansive and fertile countryside perfect for the growing of crops. After Kestri's climate plunge, however, the plains were turned into a windswept expanse of snow and ice. Storms are especially fierce on the plains without mountains to block the winds. Under the snow, moss and lichen grows well here. Some attempts have been made to cultivate the rich soil that still lies beneath the plains, though no successful settlement has been made yet.
    • Htagir Sea: The largest body of water in Kestri, the Htagir Sea is a major landmark of Kestri. Despite its arctic temperatures, and the fact that a good percentage of its body is perennially covered by a sheet of ice, the sea teams with native aquatic life. The coast of the Htagir Sea is characterized by deep, rocky fjords where many small Mandalorian settlements have cropped up over the years.
    • Dhatagir Polar Flats: Around the planet's north pole are the Dhatigar polar flats, a vast expanse of frozen ice. Both of the planet's polar regions feature the same flats, and are called Dhatigar; Kestri's North and South poles are referred to as Ghat'dhatagir and Ka'ghat'dhatagir respectively. Very little life, native or otherwise, exists here. As the flats are just ice, no sustenance exists for any known flora or fauna (though little exploration in the region has made it a place of unknowns). Near-constant hurricane-force winds and sub-zero temperatures that render the area near-inhabitable, and a lack of any known valuable resource, discourage settlement in this region.
  • Major Locations:
    • Cin'cirri Mountain Range
      • Link | Tor Valum: Capital city of both Kestri and the Mandalorian Enclave, Tor Valum is an expansive metropolis carved into Mt. Valum, one of the highest peaks in the Cin'cirri mountain range. The city was founded around four millennia ago by Clan Kyron, only to fall into ruin after their destruction at the hands of the Yuuzhan Vong. Rebuilt and expanded by the Mandalorian Enclave, Tor Valum has become a major hub for trade, industry, and Mandalorian culture. It is known colloquially as the 'Last Mandalorian City,' as it is the only city that can compare to the splendor of ancient Mandalorian cities such as Keldabe or Sundari.
        • Link | Clan Kandar Estate: Located on the outskirts of Tor Valum, the small minimalist structure is home to Clan Kandar. In spite of its Clan's small size, it is one of the largest of the many Clan estates that surround the city.
      • Link | Temple of Javarr: The Temple of Javarr, secluded in the Cin'ciri mountain range, is the forge of Master Javarr. It has the most intricate and austere architecture of the five forces and was often a gathering place for those who wanted to become inducted into the Order of Forgemasters. Now it serves as a semi-holy place for the Smithing Guild, and many weaponsmiths, metalsmiths, and even Forgemasters seek the temple's wisdom and sanctitude to complete vexing projects or solve seemingly impossible problems.
      • Citadel of the Kom'rk: Nestled in a mountain on the Cin'ciri range sits the Citadel, a massive fortification that is the host of the Kom'rk, the training and proving grounds of Enclave Mandalorians. The Si'kahya in particular favor this site as their rite of passage, living atop the cold peak while they undergo the crucible of the Kom'rk. Tournaments and duels are hosted here regularly, as well as different challenges and rites of passage for those who wish to pass a verd'goten or prove their honor. It is probably one of the most heavily fortified locations in Kestri apart from maybe the capital city of Tor Valum.
      • New Shuror Ruins: The ruins of the settlement of New Shuror remain standing on the outskirts of the Vong Dead Zone. Now in the no-build exclusion zone that surrounds the perimeter, travel to the ruins is discouraged and many do not like to speak of the place. Little of note exists there now, mainly the burnt-out husks of buildings and the graves of many Mandalorians.
      • Bes'curitr Mines: Some of the most productive mines of Kestri. The Bes'curitr Mines comprise an extensive underground and overground network of tunnels and dig sites, and produce a wide variety of ores that fuel Kestri's industry. On extremely rare occasions, small lodes of ore to make beskar alloy have been found and are in the process of being extracted and processed.
    • Cin'haastal Mountain Range
      • Link | White Scar Post: White Scar Post is a small settlement that primarily operates as the home of Clan Dragr on Kestri, and secondarily as an official outpost in the sparsely-settled Cin'haastal mountains. Atop the summit of Sur'ulur Tethr, a low-lying peak in the mountain range, White Scar Post is a favorite haunt of reclusive Mandalorians who prefer the post's quiet tavern to the hustle and bustle of Kestri's starports.
    • H'tagir Sea
      • Link | Reaver's Bay: A starport and settlement on the coast of the H'tagir Sea, Reaver's Bay is a community developed by the Mandalorian spacers who more often than not frequent the stars than any terrestrial abode. Many of Mandalorian's Bes'kyrade naval forces operate here, facilitated by the Iceyards and Nol'mani Dockyards of Kestri Hypernautics. Reaver's Bay is also the center of Kestri's fishing industry, providing sustenance for much of the Mandalorian population. Reaver's Bay is a considerably rougher town, populated mainly by grizzled veterans and Mandalorian spacers.
  • Force Nexus (Optional): N/A
POPULATION
  • Native Species: As a heavily terraformed planet, all bioforms found on Kestri in the modern day were either introduced by Clan Kyron or have evolved in the millennia since. However, given that they have existed on the planet for several millennia, the following species are considered to be native to the planet.
  • Immigrated Species:
  • Population: Moderate
  • Demographics:
    • Mandalorian [Various Species] 88%
    • Yuuzhan Vong 3%
    • Chazrach 8%
    • Other <1%
  • Primary Languages:
  • Culture:
    • The culture of Kestri is near-synonymous with that of Mandalorian culture, as its modern population consists of immigrated Mandalorians.

Mandalorian culture evolved from a religious warrior society, and although few still follow the 'old' gods of their distant ancestors, the skills and lifestyle of a warrior are perhaps most prized among Mandalorians. Mandalorians are not bonded by blood or species but by creed. Any person, should they prove worthy and follow the core tenets of the Resol'nare can be inducted into a Mandalorian clan and serve as a full-blooded member of the collective Mando'ade, with no bias towards 'foundlings' versus those born as Mandalorians. As a warrior-centric society, those born into the culture are expected to be fully participating members of their Clan by the minimum age of thirteen galactic standard years (for humans). able to wield a blaster and beskad adequately.

Just as all Mandalorians have shared cultural heritage and values, different sects and ages of the Mando'ade have had different values and beliefs as well. Two distinct generations make up the culture of Kestrian Mandalorians. The first, old enough to still remember the Sith Genocide, severely scarred by the event that nearly exterminated their people from the galaxy, is perhaps one of the most conflict-adverse Mandalorian cultures to have ever arisen. To say this generation are coward would be slander, for they retook Kestri from the unfathomably numbered armies of the Yuuzhan Vong, carving out a new Mandalorian homeworld for their own. But they recognize that the Mandalorian people are not invulnerable, and know that every action must be weighed carefully for both its merits and detriments.

The second, younger generation grew up with no first-hand experience of the Mandalorian Genocide, having lived in a safe world with relative comfort. Growing up during an era of waning Mandalorian power, they look out on a galaxy that scoffs at their strength and hunger for glory. Unlike their elders, they seek battle, bloodshed, and righteous victory to prove their strength. They have formed a quite more militaristic faction within the ranks of Mandalorians on Kestri.

As the former throne world of Clan Kyron, Kestri boasts a number of intricate architecture from the Mandalorian clan that prized beauty, intelligence, and creation just as much as warmongering (albeit most of their creations are in ruins). Knowledge and treasures are stored throughout Kestri, some still yet uncovered, that add to this rich heritage that Kestri has to offer, and these discoveries influence the culture of Kestri as well.

One unique tradition of the Kestri-Mandalorian subculture is the celebration of the Solstice of the Mando'ade, an annual holiday during the day with the longest daylight in the year during which Mandalorian culture and deceased ancestors are celebrated. Founded as a tradition to propagate Mandalorian culture in the wake of the genocide, it has become quite the extravagant affair on Kestri and other Mandalorian groups associated with it or the Enclave, analogous to Life Day in most galactic cultures. It calls for feasting, remembrance of passed-on Mandalorians, and usually many tournaments and spectacles.
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government:
    • Type: Nominative Meritocracy [Enclave]
    • Description: To label the Enclave with a specific form of government would be a misunderstanding of Mandalorian culture, at best. Little emphasis is placed on birthplace or citizenship within Mandalorians, and as such no official Mandalorian 'state' has ever existed as understood by conventional galactic politics. The governance and administration of Mandalorians within the Enclave and Kestri rely primarily on Mandalorian codes of honor and culture, which dictate suitable and unsuitable Mandalorian behavior.

However, that is not to say that Kestri is a decentralized world. The Enclave remains the ruling power over the planet, interfering in internal Clan matters only when necessary to keep the peace of the world. Cities such as Tor Valum and Reaver's Bay fall directly under the Enclave's authority, as well as the Karjr law enforcement. Si'kahya and Bes'kyrade military forces also support the authority of the Enclave on its capital. Settlements founded by and strictly affiliated with Clans are similarly allowed to be administrated by that Clan or organization, albeit said settlement swears fealty to the overall Mandalorian government.

However, despite administrative technicalities, the 'laws' of Kestri are quite simple and uniform: in large, respect the peace and do not harm fellow Mandalorians. The latter exists under the interpretation of Mandalorian culture, where bar fights are just as common as sleeping and drinking. Brawls in Tihaar sinks are generally disregarded unless under extreme circumstances, but extreme actions against the welfare of the Mando'ade are dealt grave punishment. More inferior laws, such as customs and duties, property rights, and others are often established by the ruling authority over a given city, port, or settlement and although uniform when possible, can often have discrepancies that would only result in the Mandalorian form of governance.

The bureaucratic body of the Enclave is nominally smaller than most other governments. Authorities are appointed as needed, based on their merits and qualifications. No written constitution governs the Enclave and Kestri, as Mandalorians defer instead to the ancient customs passed down generation by generation through the Resol'nare, and more recently the Mandalorian Catechisms, a cultural reform instituted by the Enclave. Its founder, the Quartermaster, disavowed the traditional title of Mand'alor and with it the authority to rule over all Mandalorians; this tradition has been continued by the Mandalorian Enclave. The Enclave is content to govern all those who wish to fight under its banner but claims no authority or responsibility for Mandalorians who disavow it.
  • Affiliation:
  • Wealth:
    • Very Wealthy | Kestri has an abundance of wealth, treasures, and technologies preserved for millennia from the collapse of Clan Kyron. Much of Kestri's material wealth can be derived from the unexplored resources in the planet's crust; chief among other lesser precious metals, coveted Beskar and even rarer Kyber Crystals can be found under the surface. Both resources are extremely rare in the galaxy, and prized both for their scarcity as well as their abilities; the protective and near-indestructible properties of Beskar, and the power generation and Force-channeling properties of Kyber Crystals. Alongside that, lesser ores and precious metals can be found in the planet's crust as well, and the many uncovered treasures, technologies, and knowledge that Clan Kyron left behind add to the planet's as well.

After many decades of rebuilding, expansion, and investment, Kestri has been transformed from a developing state to a true hub of industry and trade. Innovations and adaptations to the world have made it more self-sustainable, and its vast resources afford it the means for both production and exportation.
  • Stability:
    • High | Under the administration of the Enclave, Kestri is very stable. The planet is very well defended from external threats thanks to both a vast defense network overseen by the ancient artificial intelligence of the Mind Forge, as well as the various Mandalorian warriors that call Kestri home. Civil strife rarely threatens the world itself, as traditional Mandalorian customs create a cooperative culture that rarely sees disagreements spiral into true political instability.

While well-contained, the Vong Dead Zone does exist as a threat to Kestri's stability. Constant vigilance of the Dead Zone is required so that Vong forces can be culled before they would be able to mount a resurgence.
  • Freedom & Oppression:
    • By nature, Mandalorians are an extremely individualistic and decentralized society. So long as a Mandalorian is no disruption to Kestri's peace, they are allowed to do as they please; and the Mandalorian term for 'peace' is a definition that allows for a surprising amount of violence. Thus, there is little oppression on Kestri, as the Enclave is about an open-handed governmental organization as any Mandalorian can hope for, a far cry from the tyrannical reigns of Mand'alor's past.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military:
    • Kestri is a heavily militarized planet, even by Mandalorian standards; and Mandalorian standards are exceptionally high. Except for the extremely old, infirm, sick, and unabled, all Mandalorians can and are expected to fight. No matter their trade and occupation, all Mandalorians are adequate if not deadly with many different types of weaponry, and thus almost the entire population of the planet can be roused in the planet's defense. This also severely reduces the amount of civilians that would need to be accounted for in an attack, easing the logistics of defense and battle.

The military of Kestri and the Enclave is segmented into primarily two categories: forces directly under the Enclave's control, and levies marshaled by various Clans affiliated with the Enclave to defend it. The former primarily consists of the Si'kahya, extremely skilled warriors who fight to defend the Enclave first and foremost, and the Gar'tyatr, who serve collectively as the Enclave's naval forces. The latter are plainer, warriors fighting under the banner of their Clan Alor, levied in need. The latter fight primarily for their Clan first, and regimentation, levels of experience, and size of units can vary widely depending on the Clan, but in need, these Clan warriors will make up the bulk of the Enclave's fighting force.

No expenses were spared when it came to the defense of Kestri. Along the more populated areas of the planet are point-defense weaponry -- RMMD-M5 Mass Driver Cannons, RMAC-M10 Ion Cannons, RMAF-M9 Accelerated Flak cannons,
BWFC Araniik Point-Defense Systems,BWFC Morut Modular Turret Systems -- meant to create a network of anti-air defenses should the planet come under attack. Vast armies of MND-series Cernr-type Droid Frames supplement the organic forces that the Enclave brings to bear, and all artificial defenses can be automated and controlled by the Mind Forge, the ancient and powerful artificial intelligence crafted by Clan Kyron, now sworn to help build and protect the Enclave's interests.
  • Technology:
    • Even by modern galactic standards, the technology levels of Clan Kyron far surpassed anything previously dreamt of. That legacy still exists in the relics of Clan Kyron and the Mind Forge, the latter of which is still functional. Much of this technology was lost to either the Yuuzhan Vong or the multiple millennia that followed the downfall of Clan Kyron, but under the Enclave's supervision, much has been built and modernized. As a whole, Kestri sits well at the Galactic technological standard when it comes to infrastructure, and what has not been rebuilt is projected to still meet or exceed that standard.

With exceptional resources like the Mind Forge, the individual skill of Mandalorian engineering, and the many valuable resources at the Enclave's disposal on Kestri, the technological capabilities of the world stand to become far more advanced than most of the Galaxy; however, Kestri still for the most part remains a wild and untamed world, with vast swathes of wilderness. As a new homeworld for Mandalorians, it is quite likely that the geography of Kestri will remain this way so long as it is spared from the war and violence that seems to follow Mandalorians wherever they go, but with improvements to infrastructure, this will not affect the technological capabilities of the Enclave either.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Kestri was a world of beauty, unparalleled in its seemingly random yet fateful design.

Prehistory | ??? BBY
During the infancy of its system, Kestri was but a small ball of fire and molten magma, a new planet circling a new star. It's hard to date precisely when it occurred, but all tests and records from Clan Kyron scientists point towards a mysterious planetoid colliding with the planet during this period. The planetoid was estimated to be roughly composed of, among other materials, beskar ore, which in total comprised around 45% of the planetoid. The impact roughly doubled Kestri in size, reforming the world into the composition it's known for today.

Clan Kyron: Rise | Circa 3900 BBY
Billions of years later, Kestri was discovered by Clan Kyron in their great exodus from their homeworld of Rhen Var and known space, Kestri was to be their new homeworld of bounteous creation. Withdrawn from the charted galaxy, they could develop and grow without the risk of incursion by rivals or nefarious beings. And when left with the resources and peace to grow, they did.

The world, while inhabitable, lacked any sort of life. Thus it fell to the Clan, who lacked any great technologies that would come as the galaxy developed, to completely terraform the world. But such a task was no more than a small stumbling brick for the innovative clan. Drawing on the natural resources of the world, the five Forgemasters and leaders of the Clan established each of their five forges, beginning to produce the needed technology. Once their initial creations were complete, Forgemaster Elendi, Alor of the Clan, founded the great city of Tor Valum in the mountain that hosted his Forge. Low-level agriculture had begun to be developed, but life in Kestri was growing at a slow and challenging pace.

This changed when the five Forgemasters melded their knowledge into their single, greatest creation: the Mind Forge. An intelligent being completely capable of not only fabricating any technology, but independently designing technology and controlling it, the Mind Forge took to immediately terraforming the planet on a mass scale -- introducing flora, fauna, micro bacteria, and even changing the planet's atmospheric composition. The Mind Forge took what would have been a centuries-long rebound into a matter of less than a year.

With the ability of the Mind Forge, Kestri was transformed from a lifeless rock into an abundant paradise. Clan Kyron prospered, creating vast cities and discovering technologies that the rest of the galaxy could only dream of. They stored their immense knowledge in deep vaults and temples, and each of the five Forgemasters led their clan, all equal in wisdom. Yet no amount of learning could foretell the Clan of the danger that neared their borders, or forestall the doom that would soon fall on them.

Clan Kyron: The Fall | 3850 BBY
An unknown enemy had found the isolated world of Mandalorians; a splinter remnant of the Praetorite Yuuzhan Vong, who had been sent as an advance elite force ahead of their people to scout the new galaxy that lay before them. But they had inadvertently been defeated at Mandalorian hands; and when the survivors found a Mandalorian world unaware, they decided to wreak their vengeance there.

Completely caught by surprise, a fierce war was ignited for supremacy over Kestri. Fighting was fierce across the planet, with the fiercest of the fighting concentrated around Tor Valum, the capital city of the planet. The war dragged on for months, but even for all the power, knowledge, and technology of Clan Kyron, they were too outnumbered. All Mandalorians were slaughtered, and the world fell under the Yuuzhan Vong's control. But in a last desperate act, the Mind Forge used all of the terraforming technology at its disposal to plunge Kestri into an artificial ice age, Though they had been victorious, the Yuuzhan Vong forces there were sent into hibernation and would not wake until several millennia later, sparing the world and the galaxy from the Yuuzhan Vong's machinations.

Mandalorian Rediscovery | 863 ABY
It wasn't until the modern day, when Mandalorian scouts from the Enclave found Kestri via an ancient route pieced together from artifacts found in the dark corners of the galaxy, that the Yuuzhan Vong began to reawaken. When a vanguard team of Mandalorians digging through the Temple of Javaar uncovered the secret of Kestri -- that it was a world of Mandalorian heritage that had vast treasures to offer -- a second war for the planet began. Enclave forces first struck at the Sinking Docks, eliminating the Yuuzhan Vong forces that sat in a stronghold there. They then prevented the Yuuzhan Vong from finishing a system-wide jamming beacon made from an amalgamation of Vong and Mandalorian tech on Kestri's moon, happening to stumble and make peace with the exogorth living there.

The fighting finally converged once more on Tor Valum, the derelict city that had been Clan Kyron's capital and was now the chief stronghold of the Praetorite Remnant. Mandalorian teams fought across the city, in the lava tubes that served as the central heating and power network, and up the tallest spire to slay the leader of the Yuuzhan Vong once and for all. Once more, Kestri was Mandalorian. Once more, Kestri was free.

Reconstruction, aided by the Mind Forge that now served the Enclave, began in earnest, starting with the city that the Enclave had just won. With an army of labor droid frames and innovative Mandalorian technology, the city soon began the process of transformation into a true metropolis, a true Mandalorian city. Although the work still remains unfinished, it was enough to become habitable, and soon vast troves of Mandalorians were settling down in Tor Valum just in time for the celebrations of the Solstice of the Mando'ade. Settlements began to appear elsewhere as the reconstruction of Kestri's infrastructure broadened, and places such as Reaver's Bay, the Nol'mani Dockyards, and the Citadel of the Kom'rk were all constructed or rebuilt to suit the Enclave's needs.

Outer Rim Capital | 869 ABY
Kestri was propelled to greater galactic prominence with the emergence of the Mandalorian Enclave as a true galactic power. An operation that saw the capture of a prominent Sith Lord led to his escape through the means of subterfuge, which leaked the secret of Kestri to the galaxy. No longer the hidden Mandalorian safe haven it once was, Kestri embraced its new status as the capital of the Outer Rim's most martial power.

Though non-Mandalorian travel was not prohibited, Kestri remained a Mandalorian-heavy world, a replacement, and a new home in lieu of Mandalore. Although trade was encouraged with non-Mandalorians, immigration was highly discouraged. In contrast, Mandalorians were greatly encouraged to migrate to Kestri and make it their new home, to continue the work of rebuilding the Mando'ade. Kestri enjoyed great economic and infrastructural growth, as well as a boom in its population.

Diminishing Strength | 880 ABY

At the conclusion of the Second Great Hyperspace War, Mandalorian Enclave space was fraught with strife. The fireflash crisis had wrought a terrible toll on Enclave space, though Kestri had been spared from the plague. A succession crisis in the wake of the Quartermaster's death, unsatisfactorily resolved by Warmaster Romul Saxon's assumption of leadership, seriously fragmented Enclave power. While Mandalorian influence on traditional Enclave territories waned, Kestri became more insular and isolated. More Mandalorians moved to Kestri from fringe frontier worlds, seeking protection in numbers as the Enclave's ability to project power diminished. The world -- and the Enclave -- spiraled into stagnation.

The beginning of this era was also marked with the New Shuror Tragedy. The settlement of New Shuror was a promising community of immigrated Mandalorians, on the outskirts of the Vong Dead Zone. Assumed to be protected, both by the Dead Zone's natural barriers and the patrol of Enclave warriors, this would not prove to be the case. In the first and only breach of the containment zone since its creation, a horde of the mutated Vong escaped and massacred the overwhelmed and unsuspecting inhabitants of New Shuror. By the time an Enclave task force could respond, it was too late. The settlement was left in ruins, the Vong curbed and reigned back to their dead zone, and a new exclusion zone on the perimeter of the Dead Zone was proclaimed to ensure no further repeat of the tragedy would occur.

Nevertheless, the New Shuror Tragedy only added to the lack of faith in Enclave leadership. Warmaster Romul Saxon would voluntarily abdicate, and the Enclave and Kestri would be left to a council of Enclave administrators to run the day-to-day of the world. With no strong leader in place to drive the Mandalorians forward, Kestri would experience a recession of sorts.

Resurgence | 902 ABY
With the turn of the century, a new leadership triumvirate would emerge to take charge of the Enclave and Kestri. Fueled to reclaim what was theirs in the galaxy, Kestri would see a resurgence as more Mandalorians flocked to the world. True change was heralded by the first-ever bloom of Vormur flowers since the Second Mandalorian Excision, a sign that a new era was beginning not only for Kestri, but for Mandalorians. Though the future is ever uncertain, one must assume that a dawn awaits for Mandalorians and Kestri on the horizon.

Where are you on this sub? Would you like more time to complete it or is this ready to be moved to live judging?

If I don't hear anything back within a few days, this submission will be archives for inactivity. If you would like it pulled back out of the archives so that it can be worked on - Please make the request in the Submission-Modification Thread.

The Quartermaster The Quartermaster

This is a truly beautiful submission. Everything is written out in detail, and with clear thought to creating both a recognizable Mandalorian cultural hub and a world that is interesting in its own right. There is already a rich Chaos history here, clearly, and that only adds to the wonderful level of detail in the descriptions. I can think of nothing to add or tweak.
