- Mind Forge: The original and primary functionality of the Mind Forge is to be a sentient forge of creation; that is, to invent, design, and fabricate without any organic intervention, functions that the Mind Forge excels in

The Mind Forge, or Artus, as it styles itself, is a fully-sentient artificial intelligence. Created by the ancient Mandalorian Clan Kyron, Artus's central core is housed on the frozen world of Kestri, where it once served as the chief defensive and creation system of the Clan before the Clan was attacked and wiped out by a faction of Yuuzhan Vong, forcing Artus to plunge Kestri into an artificial ice age as a last measure to prevent the Yuuzhan Vong from taking control of and destroying the Mind Forge itself.
Artus is not just sentient, but ultra-intelligent on the verge of omniscience. This can be attributed to its extremely advanced processor systems, in-depth databases with quantum-level random access memory, and heurisitic learning processors that allow Artus to evolve and adapt with experience. The artificial intelligence literally has the capability to rewrite the code of its own programming and others, allowing it to evolve itself to meet and surpass galactic technological standards. It also has its own personality, corralled by a set of morality and mandate parameters that ensure it suddenly doesn't go genocidal and is an asset to Clan Kyron, or in its current iteration, the Enclave. This personality has been coded as male, but any further developments -- naming itself Artus, after Mand'alor the Vindicated, and preferring to converse in Mando'a -- are evolutions of the artificial intelligence's own design.
The primary function and purpose that Artus was created for was to be a sentient Forge. It is therefore coded with 'inventor' protocols, which essentially give it creativity. It is able to completely design the concept of, schematics and fabricate technology, weapons, items, gear, ships, and anything else that could possibly be dreamed of without any intervention by smiths at all. This allows the Mind Forge to be extremely automated and efficient; when Clan Kyron first colonized Kestri, it allowed the Mind Forge to rapidly increase the production of needed equipment and technology to tame the wild world, as well as automate and control it -- this being the same technology that the artificial intelligence would eventually use to turn Kestri into a frozen planet as a last measure of defense against encroaching Yuuzhan Vong forces.
The inventor protocols ties directly into the secondary purpose of Artus: defending the Kestri system and those that fell under its protective mandate. This mandate used to only expand to Clan Kyron, but in the advent of their extinction and the end of the Enclave-Yuuzhan Vong war for Kestri, Artus is now a defender of the Enclave and its territories and peoples on Kestri as well. With a wide variety of military-oriented programming collectively termed as 'Warmind' protocols, Artus is able to directly and indirectly control a vast array of defensive systems, weaponry and other technology, of which can be limitlessly trimmed, upgraded and organized as the artificial intelligence sees fit.
Artus, Tkiriyr Nau'ur Kad, is the pinnacle of Clan Kyron's creations and perhaps one of the most advanced and intelligent creators in the galaxy. And now awakened, there is no telling what revolutions the Mind Forge will ignite.
