PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • A tri-barreled design allows for the RMMD-M5 to fire three projectiles at once, greatly increasing its damage-per-volley output.
  • The RMMD-M5 can integrate with any sort of weapons or tracking technology.
  • A sybarium-crystal generator allows for greater energy efficiency in generating the required power to electro-magnetize the gauss coils of the mass driver.
  • SACG-23S shock-absorbent gel placed in the base and barrel of the cannon acts as a coolant for the weapon, allowing for greater sustained fire without the potential chance of internal damage. The shock-absorbent gel also reduces the recoil of the weapon.
  • A coating of liquid aenite prevents the RMMD-M5 from being capacitated by EMP or Ion technologies.
  • Each mass driver unit contains its own individual shield generator.
  • The RMMD-M5 can be controlled remotely, increasing the convenience factor of where the weapon can be placed. In addition, the mass driver cannon can also interface with any type of targeting system.
  • The RMMD-5 can toggle between automatic and manual fire modes, as well as be firelinked in multiple weapons groups.
  • The RMMD-5 can both be installed as a shipboard weapon as well as a defensive anti-orbital ground installment.
STRENGTHS
  • Pure Destruction: There is no way around it; the maximum destructive potential that the RMMD-M5 is extreme by any circumstance, and can be of a great detriment to shields and ships alike. With a tri-barreled design and the technology to hurl the incredibly lethal RMAP and RMHE shells at extreme speeds, the RMMD-M5 is an extremely destructive cannon.
  • Reinforced Design: Both the barrels and core of the RMMD-M5 mass driver cannon are built with SACG-23S shock-absorbent gel which reduces the recoil of the weapon as well as acting as a heat-sink and coolant for the cannon, allowing for continuous fire without the possibility of internal damage. To prevent the cannon from exterior harm, the entire mass driver is plated in tempered military-grade duranium under a coating of liquid-aenite to protect it from EMP and Ion attacks. In addition to that, the RMMD-M5 features an inbuilt deflector shield generator designed to protect it from any further exterior harm.
  • Versatile: The RMMD-M5 offers a lot of flexibility when it comes to installation and usage. The mass-driver can be installed virtually anywhere as long as there is a sufficient power source for it and enough space for the cannon to operate freely and can be controlled from a remote location which increases the convenience factor of where the weapon can be installed. When in use, the mass driver is able to toggle between automatic and manual fire modes as well as being firelinked in multiple weapons groups, which gives more options to a ship's captain and manufacturer in terms of crew priorities and automation.
WEAKNESSES
  • Big Boy: The RMMD-M5 is a powerful cannon, but it is also a big one that packs a large recoil punch. Ships that are less than six-hundred meters in length do not have the power capacity to handle such a massive weapon and the deflector shield generator that comes along with it, and thus only ships that are heavy-cruiser sized or larger are able to reasonably install this weapon.
  • Easy Target: The RMMD-M5 is quite a large weapon, and despite its reinforced protection and shield generator the mass-driver is still an easy target for enemy ship systems and starfighters.
  • Not Anti-Fighter: Due to slow movement speeds and turret tracking, the RMMD-M5 is extremely ineffective against starfighters and similarly-sized ships.
DESCRIPTION
Roble Manufacturing set out to build an extremely destructive mass-driver cannon that would, in many cases, be a game-changer in naval and land warfare. And build one they did; the RMMD-M5 is both on paper and on the field a terrifying weapon for any enemy to behold. Built to fire massive 320mm projectiles at unimaginable speeds, the RMMD-M5 has an extreme damage output that can be attributed to both its lethal projectiles, fast-firing velocity and tri-barrel design. In addition to that, a coating of SACG-23S shock-absorbent gel helps prevent the weapon from overheating while firing and keeps components from suffering negative effects of recoil, greatly reinforcing the interior design of the weapon.

Primarily hampered back by its large size, which makes it unable to counter starfighter-sized starships as well as making it an easy target for enemy lasers, Roble Manufacturing built the weapon with an externally-defensive mindset. The entire weapon is made with tempered military-grade duranium plating, reinforcing the weapon and making it resistant to many types of weaponry. A coating of liquid-aenite reinforces its resistance to EMP and Ion-based weaponry, and perhaps the most defensive aspect of the cannon is that it features its own inbuilt deflector shield generator. This shield generator is separate from a ship's internal systems and is smaller, due to it only needing to protect the mass-driver cannon. And while this does add a significant strain on the power supply for the cannon, the payoff is that the mass-driver is protected from the intensive fire that it will likely receive on the battlefield from starfighters and laser cannons alike.

All in all, the RMMD-M5 is an extremely powerful mass driver that has the potential to be the crown of any ship's arsenal.
