SETTING INFORMATION
  • Military Base Name: Fortress Imperious
  • Classification: Military Installation
  • Location: Concordia
  • Affiliation: The Sith Empire
  • Population: Crowded
  • Demographics:
    • The majority of the Fortress' personnel are Imperial Legionnaires, who comprise the bulk of the Sith Empire's occupational force within the Mandalore system. The rest are non-combat personnel such as technicians, mechanics, and civil officers tasked with maintaining the upkeep of the Fortress and keeping in contact with the Empire's other assets in the system.
  • Accessibility:
    • Only Sith-Imperial Military Personnel and members of the Sith Order are allowed entry on Fortress Imperious grounds, with the occupying garrison given orders to eliminate any trespassers with extreme prejudice. Civil administrators may be allowed on the premises as long as they are under military escort.
  • Description: A hulking edifice of the titanic technological advances of the Sith Empire, Fortress Imperious was designed with abject oppression in mind. The moon upon which it was constructed, Concordia, was completely taken over by the Sith and converted into a fortress, with Imperious serving as the seat of military power in the system. An entire mountain range was hollowed out to build Imperious, the labor of doing so taking several months to complete before the Fortress was anywhere remotely operational. Because Imperious was built within Concordia's crust, it was considered to be one of the most fortified and unassailable strongholds not only within the Mandalore system but within the entire Sith Empire as well; with the throne-world of Bastion serving as an example of a more fortified location.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Barracks: To house the soldiers of the Sith Empire required a great deal of sufficient space, which was achieved by the construction of skyscraper-sized habitation blocks built deep under the snowy earth. Hundreds of levels comprised entirely of austere living quarters, mess halls, and refreshers large enough to hold thirty to forty off-duty Legionnaires. The barrack complexes were directly connected to the armory, hangars, infirmary, and general living by both corridor and tram system.
  • Hangars: Built into cliff walls and mountain slopes are hangar bays tall and wide enough to store several squadrons of starfighters, varying from strike craft to gunboats and everything in between. When not in use, the mouths of these cavernous hangars are covered by ray-shielded turadium blast doors, which can be opened and closed from the hangar flight control booth located in a protected observation platform above the flight deck.
  • Assembly Areas: Gargantuan underground caverns of durasteel and permacrete, these huge expansions are large enough to fit an army's worth of vehicles and troops in rigid assembly formation in preparation for deployment. Several chasms cordoned by turadium doors enable dropships and transports to move between the assembly areas and the surface.
  • Supply Depots: Massive storehouses, larger than most destroyers, rest just beneath the surface, filled with dehydrated foodstuffs, mechanical items, medicinal supplies, and everything else an occupational force would need to keep themselves fed, clothed, and healthy. These depots are among the most closely guarded sections of Fortress Imperious, administered by specialized officers who answer to their own authority within the Sith-Imperial Corps of Engineers (SI-CE).
  • Armory: Part munitions warehouse, part manufacturing plant, the armory of Fortress Imperious is the primary hub for the manufacturing of weapons, armor, and vehicles on Concordia. Connected directly to the Corporate City by hundreds of kilometers of uninhabitable tram canals, the armory receives several metric tonnes of processed and raw materials on a daily basis. Building sized molecular furnaces convert raw materials into useable pieces, which are then combined with the pre-processed items shipped by the Corporate City into new articles of warfare.
  • Military Assembly Hall: A massive assembly chamber large enough to hold two-hundred-thousand personnel was located near the heart of the mountain complex and was a regular location for highly propagandized speeches, holo-reels, and other activities organized by the Ministry of Truth to improve morale.
  • Infirmary: Placed throughout the Fortress were many infirmaries dedicated to treating members of the Imperial Military stationed at the Fortress. They included state-of-the-art bacta and kolto faculties, surgical droids, trained staff, and dispensaries for caf and cookies.
  • General Living: Connected to the barracks and infirmaries were the general living quarters, which were essentially off-duty zones where soldiers could practice recreational activities and engage in leisure hobbies between duties. It was outfitted with all the amenities a battle-hardened soldier of the Empire could want, including a brothel where soldiers of all sexes could de-stress and vent their frustrations in a non-destructive manner.
  • Emperor's Quarters: Despite the possibility of underutilization, the Emperor maintains his own private quarters on Concordia in Fortress Imperious. When the Emperor and his retinue are not present, the quarters are kept functional and pristine by a staff of robotic servants in preparation for his next visit.
  • Dark Council Chamber: Whenever the Dark Council convenes in proximity to the Mandalore system, they make use of this highly guarded and reinforced chamber. Shrouded in secret even from the overseers of the Fortress, the Dark Council chamber is outfitted with bleeding-edge technology designed to keep the congregations of the Dark Council a secret.
  • Underground Tram: Interwoven within the depths of the snow-capped mountain is a monumental tram system that connects all of Fortress Imperious together and tethers other outlying outposts and strongholds to the massive citadel. The trams are highly regulated to prevent abuse by insurgent organizations and can be remotely shut down from a highly protected control center deep in the heart of the mountain.
  • Construction Yard: Adjacent to the mountain is a massive canyon twenty kilometers long, eight kilometers wide, and eight kilometers deep. The Empire carved this massive indention in the earth out for the express purpose of planetside construction, primarily of warships such as destroys and battlecruisers. Shafts located at the bottom of the canyon transport building materials from the Fortress' armory and other nearby assembly lines.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

When the Sith Empire planted their flag on Mandalore's surface, they turned their gaze up towards one of the two moons orbiting the beleaguered planet. For centuries Concordia had been a lowly populated satellite of the more important planet below, but in recent years the moon had seen an increase in population when ArmaTech established one of their Corporate Cities there.
As the Sith arrived on Concordia, there were fears that they would turn their wrath against the twelve billion civilians living and working in the Corporate City. Instead, the Empire only killed those of the highest echelons of power and spared the rest beneath them, replacing those killed with loyal Mandalorians and Imperial officials. Industrial production was thrown into overdrive as the Sith looked to the far north, to the frozen tundras of Concordia's northern pole.
Frequent traffic over the North Pole continued for several months, vast surpluses of the Corporate City's exports being moved by underground rail to a massive construction project at the highest peak in the pole. The Empire gutted the mountain, hollowing it out and replacing stone with sterile durasteel and dark gray permacrete, transforming a once tranquil and unpopulated mountain into the central hub for Sith power on the entire moon; in the entire star system.
They called it Fortress Imperious, for there was no better word to describe the edifice they had constructed to Imperial arrogance and vanity.

Submission moved to pre-codex as per writer request.

Please remember to include a list of changes when you tag a member of codex staff to move the submission back to live judgement.

This is a pretty solid submission, and I always love the sheer level of thought you put into these, and the submissions that you use. Tehre are just a few points I'd like to raise with you before we move forward.

1) Location

The Link to Concordia is broken, could you please replace that with the correct link?

2) Template

In the Setting Information section of the submission, you have missed out the Accessibility field. All fields of the template must be included in a submission before we can approve it. I have included the Accessibility field below for your ease of reference.
Accessibility: [ Describe logistical information on how easy it is to find/access this location. Is it hidden? Is it isolated from society or is it in the middle of civilization? Is it guarded? Open to the public or private access only? ]

3) Security

I noticed that the WG-114 Mobile Rocket Artillery 'Hailstorm' is affiliated with the Wraithguard and not TSE, could you please provide me with the evidence that you are allowed to use this submission in a TSE submission? In a similiar manner, could you please provide the proof/authorization that you are allowed to use Corondex Arm's Self Propelled Howitzer 'Powerhammer'?
In terms of the Legionnaires, you've used a lore submission here, but I was wondering if you'd created a NPC Combat Unit submission for the legionnaires?
