SETTING INFORMATION
  • Astronomical Location Name: Concordia, the Fortress Moon
  • Classification: Moon
  • Location: Orbiting Mandalore - Stationary Orbit
  • Rotational Period: N/A
  • Orbital Period: N/A
  • Size: Medium
    • 2,700 kilometers
  • Affiliation: The Sith Empire
  • Population: Moderate
  • Demographics:
    • When the Sith Empire conquered Mandalore they took possession of Concordia, one of the planet's two moons. They maintained the large corporate city's population, though they removed any lingering judicial or militia elements and replaced them with a massive occupation force that would not only safeguard the moon but also serve as overwatch for Mandalore itself.
  • Accessibility:
    • Concordia is a military-only zone within the Mandalore system, as only members of the Sith Empire with sufficient clearance are granted entry into the moon and into the moon's surrounding orbital space. Those without such clearance are to be terminated with extreme prejudice.
  • Description: Concordia was one of Mandalore's two moons, the other being the frozen Tra'shebs and the only one that was considered to be hospital by the people of Mandalore. Covered in lush verdant forests and foothills from the equator up towards the tundras and mountains around the poles, Concordia was known by many as the sparkling jewel of Mandalore for its rugged beauty and tranquility. In recent times, however, the Sith have transformed the moon into a fortress, a dagger pointed directly at Mandalore's heart. Renewed mining operations have torn open great wounds on the moon's surface, exposing the exceptionally valuable beskar veins beneath the surface.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Fortress Imperious: When the Sith took over Concordia, they constructed a massive fortress in the moon's northern hemisphere. From here they could project their might across the entire star system, keeping a watchful eye on their newly conquered subjects.
  • Bayr Tki'r: A Death Watch fortress built into an old abandoned mine somewhere in the foothills of Concordia. The fortress was gifted to aspects of the Death Watch that remained loyal to the Sith Emperor after the Siege of Mandalore and was outfitted with a new underground tram that connected it to Fortress Imperious in the far North.
  • Corporate City: Built by ArmaTech to revitalize the industrial economy of Mandalore, the Corporate City of Concordia was quickly overtaken by the Sith once the battle had been won on Mandalore. They killed the leaders of the city and replaced the police force with their own Judicial Militia. They demanded only one thing of the twelve million inhabitants, to continue working as they had before the Sith's arrival but now for the Sith instead of the long deposed Mand'alor.
  • Beskar Mines: Several mines litter the surface of Concordia, each one a valuable resource for beskar. The Sith, greedy for such a valuable resource, reignited the flames of industry and began to strip mine entire portions of the moon for Mandalorian iron. The scars of this over-industrialization could be seen from space.
  • Weaponized Equator: Massive trenches were dug along the moon's equator, reinforced with durasteel and permacrete, and riddled with weapon emplacements of gargantuan proportions. Orbital autocannons, orbital strike cannons, nuclear missile silos, and dozens of other powerful weapons capable of leveling vast swaths of Mandalore's surface should the Empire levy them against the planet.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Concordia was settled by the early Mandalorians, the Taung, shortly after they had settled the planet Mandalore. Chiefly an agricultural colony, Concordia's native beskar deposits gradually become the fixation by Mandalorian mining companies as the Clans continued to wage war across the galaxy, with ugly mines growing to dot the moon's landscape. These mining operations became so widespread that they began to kill off the moon's lush forests, with arid foothills spreading to replace them once the mining had ceased.
Over the centuries Concordia changed hands multiple times, from the Death Watch to the Black Sun to the Galactic Empire, and finally falling back into the hands of the Mandalorian Clans.
When the Sith invaded Mandalorian space in 859 ABY, Concordia became the fixation of their post-invasion efforts to strengthen their tenuous hold on the Mandalore star system. They flocked to the moon en masse, building a massive fortress in the northern polar region of the moon while carving out Concordia's equator and transforming it into a repository for planetary weapons perpetually aimed at Mandalore. They reignited mining operations and began to violent stripmine large portions of the moon's surface, the damage so incredulous that it could be viewed by the naked eye from Mandalore's surface.
