STRENGTHS
- Adaptable Carrier: The Dakhan-class is capable of ferrying a multitude of different vehicles into battle, from a group of four SI-TIE fighters to pairs of walkers. This allows the Dakhan-class to serve multiple rules depending on the needs of the commanding officer.
- Weak Solo Vessel: While it isn't uncommon to see a single Dakhan-class patroling Imperial space, the vessel works better in groups or as support to larger warships. On its own, it can easily be overwhelmed by enemy forces.
As the Sith Empire expanded, more and more ships needed to be produced to police the ever-expanding web of hyperlanes and trade junctions that intersected the multitude of star systems under its control. Though already possessing several frigates and cruisers that had been designated for patrols and planetary defense, the Empire needed something smaller yet versatile that could be delegated for the security of the interior territory.
Thus the creation of the Dakhan-class Patrol Carrier was necessary.
Though a small corvette, the Dakhan nevertheless was able to ferry four Sith-Imperial TIE Fighters into battle on ventral racks for rapid deployment. These racks could be modified to carry a variety of walkers or other specialized starfighters. Following the collapse of the First Order in 856 ABY, modifications were made to the Dakhan's overall design following the acquisition of certain schematics.
