Aboard the Ironheart Isla watched the holographic projection of the Eternal empire Fleet being joined by a smaller flotilla of ships and line up to face her own.

"Admiral Draellix," called her comms officer, "we have received a message from the defending fleet and they wish to parley."

"Yery well," replied Isla, standing, her landers had already arrived on the planet and not been fired upon, but this likely only meant that they weren't in the position to do so, not that their threats were any less serious "It is good to know the art of communication is not lost by every fleet we face."

20210614-121554.gif

The Ironheart aimed a tight beam at the source of the communication and began to broadcast, also broadcasting to the rest of the fleet simultaneously on different channels, including to the newcomer Laertia Io Laertia Io . This would allow her to switch to a private conversation as required.

" Stirric Vetch Stirric Vetch , I am Grand Admiral Isla Draellix of the Ashlan Crusade, your request for parley is accepted and is most welcome." she smiled, warmly but professionally "You will understand why I am unable to immediately stand down my forces. You have my assurance though, that none of the forces under my command, including those already landed, will engage in combat unless attacked. I too wish an opportunity to prevent bloodshed today"

"The family you protect are guilty of horrific crimes including genocide against the worlds of the Ashlan Crusade amongst others, we wish them to see justice for what they have done. The Bogan must be cleansed from the galaxy, not only for our sake, but for that of our wider people and our descendants. If you too truly wish to prevent deaths, I suggest allowing us to complete this task quickly and cleanly, I await your response"

The communication channel remained open to allow the eternal empire admiral a chance to respond on the same frequency, she had stated her case and hoped she faced a light minded individual across to thousands of miles that separated them.

As she spoke, several of her own frigates moved into a shadowing position of her flagship, ready to engage as necessary, but currently reading as in a defensive stance only.

Ashlan ships and interceptors arranging themselves around the planet, beginning to approach craft trying to leave the system. Ashlan Flagship holding distance. Flagship now accompanied by escort frigates.

Aedan looked up as he heard the sounds of footsteps approaching mismatched eyes turning to look at the commander of the Red Fang on the planet as the Cragmaloid approached. It stopped near him and offered him a firm nod "Sire the enemy approach with significant numbers the men are dug into position and we await orders." Aedan sighs pushing himself to his feet and starting to walk through the defense line towards the front of their position looking back at the palace with a bored look muttering. "Only reason we are here is Tuuli would be most upset if anything happened Adara or her family. Oh well." He came to a stop at the front of the defense line looking out over the area before him turning to face his men arms spreading wide as he looks at his men. "TELL ME BRAVE SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF CLAN AKAATA WHY ARE WE HERE?! WE ARE HERE TO STOP THOSE WHO CLAIM TO BE OF THE LIGHT FROM SLAUGHTERING UNTOLD CIVILIANS IN THE NAME OF JUSTICE! WE ARE HERE TO PROVE THAT THESE SO CALLED LIGHT SIDERS ARE NOTHING BUT MURDEROUS LIARS!" He turns to point out towards the city eyes seeming to storm as he calls out loudly. "LOOK THEY ARE ATTACKING A CITY FULL OF PEOPLE CLAIMING TO BE AFTER THOSE WHO SUPPORT THE ZAMBRANO'S LIKE IT IS A CRIME?! THEY BLOCKADE THE PLANET AND THREATEN TO DESTROY ANY SHIP THAT LEAVES WHILE THEIR FORCES ARE IN ORBIT." His voices start to die out as he finally speaks in a bland tone his eyes glaring down at the city. "The same people that once long ago used my ships I had brought to help them against the city to fire upon a city full of civilians and than blame me for their deaths. No the Sith have always treated us fairly and equally even with the fact that I have fought against them long ago where as these lightsiders always claim that anyone who does not adhere to their narrow minded rules are dark and must be destroyed." His voice starts to rise once more as he turns to face those who stood before the palace his mismatched gold and violet eyes flaring with barely suppressed power as he looks at his men the handle of his scythe held in hand. "THEY WOULD KILL ME AND MY FAMILY MERELY BECAUSE I REFUSE TO ABANDON POWER TO PROTECT MY PEOPLE AND THEIR FAMILIES! WELL WE SHALL PROVE TO THEM THAT THEY ARE THOSE WHO WILL BE CUT DOWN SPARE NOT A SINGLE SOLDIER THAT APPROACHES THIS PALACE! KILL THEM ALL AND LEAVE THEIR BODIES HERE AS A WARNING TO THEM IN THE FUTURE!" He raises his hand up the scythe held over his head as he looks at his men. "PREPARE TO DEFEND THIS PALACE FOR WE ARE THE LEGION THAT STANDS IN DEFENSE OF THOSE WITHIN!" As his speech ends his men let out loud roars of approval the Cragmaloids of the Red Fang stomping on the ground as they heft their weapons up moving rapidly to defensive positions even as Aedan stands before the trenches that had been rapidly dug out glaring down at the city as he mumbles. "And soon we will march forth to defend the citizens of that city."

The sounds were the worst of it. Low rumbles and high pitched groans vibrated through marble, duracrete, through the alloys which made up the emergency blast doors surrounding the inner sanctum of the Palace. Gunnr Fitz-Kierke Zambrano gnashed her teeth with a snarl. Paced mad and scalded across the floor. Behind her, their toddler Taiya whimpered on a mat on the floor, her 8 year old brother Othyn slid beside the child, tried to get her to play with a set of dragon toys.

“I should be by his side! I belong beside my husband! Gortho, my armour.” She swore and thrashed an arm in the air. The lightsaber pole-axe veered into the matron’s hand, her beautiful freckled skin skewed with the grotesque frown on olive features. Calm in her hand,
Nussyn’s Glory radiated with something most of the universe thought of as mythic. False and unattainable.

Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex ’s love. Crafted of the fragments of Yasha’s Longinus spear, Carnifex dug through the ephemera and slag of the Sundari palace to collect each piece himself. To reforge his wife’s weapon with the fury and insatiable desire to claim the worlds they knew. Gunnr snarled and paced in front of the door, spoke more to the contingent of
Ri Ntima Irza than the heated, vibrating air.

“Momi?” The voice, soft and yet to find its’ adult timbre, was Girak Cadera Girak Cadera . Her oldest son. “Please don’t go.”

Carnifex’s Bride swerved to see her twin teenaged sons, Magnus Cadera Magnus Cadera so ready to leap forth into battle, Girak with his hands empty and the thoughtful emerald eyes she knew he got from his father. How long until the emerald descended to the black and red of his father?

“I am his wife, son. What kind of warrior-queen would I be if I did no fighting? I cannot leave Koe alone, he must know we are with him. Our people must see we defend them, not cower in the inner places.” She felt the turn in her stomach, the life inside as she stroked her hand along the small swell of her slowly distending belly. Girak-Kaine’s hand wove around the pole-axe’s handle.

“Maggi and I aren’t ready yet. Please. Father knows what he does, he’ll keep them away to protect us, I know he will. But… I’m not ready to… we can’t defend anyone without you. Please don’t leave us here alone.” The boy’s lips smashed together, in an attempt not to seem as soft as Gunnr knew of her son. She hissed out a deep breath, sought the eyes of her warriors, and felt outward to her husband. Connected in the back of his mind to see some glimpse of his trials.

“My son, soon you will learn your affection and care for the family is a strength, not a hindrance. Alright. Why don’t you and Maggi tell your siblings a story? They always love your stories.” She leaned down to kiss her son’s cheek, hug him close. “Don’t let it get too loud, lest sound carries.”

Gunnr set her weapon beside her on a couch large enough for her eight foot size, and made a fiction of relaxing into it, one hand on her belly. ‘We are with you, pi sezi.’

This was bad. Really bad. The last time he'd been on Panatha was during a rebel mission against the Eternal Empire. And before that? As a child of the Zambrano family. A time that had broken him and left him little more than a shell grasping at power to survive. He avoided anything to do with the palace last time, and yet here he was. Staring up at the walls among the crowd. He could feel them. His family. How many were here this time?

They weren't the cause of the chill down his spine. Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex was here. All around him he could hear the prayers of his people. All to avoid the label of being a coward. But wasn't that all Kahlil was? Seeking refuge in the life of a spacer to avoid facing down his family, his father. He'd of stayed where he was, acting little more than an observer. But he felt another. Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim . Too close to the ex emperor. Without thinking about it he walked through the palace gates.

Ingrid was in danger. With how much she'd already stuck out her neck for his sake, there was no way he wouldn't do the same. Even if it brought him face to face with the very being he still had nightmares over. He pulled up the hood of his brown cloak, hiding away his face. He could pass by the guards easily enough, but family would recognize him. He couldn't afford to be delayed, could he?

Forces: One battalion of Ultranauts and a contingent of port security

Panatha had been her home before the Corps. Wet, temperate, but a home all the same. It had changed in a myriad ways since she'd last visited; in a myriad ways it remained the same. Memories of simpler times flashed across her eyes as she looked about the nearly abandoned spaceport. Given time, she would have loved to spend a good few hours reliving them. But time was a luxury the Ultranaut could no longer afford.

For the crusaders had come, bringing fire and steel in equal measure.

Whether they intended to use the arsenal at their disposal was anyone's guess. For now, they had contented themselves with deploying troops to the city, their great ships blotting out the sky as they landed a dozen or so klicks from the capital's walls in order to deposit their death-bringers. Their warriors. Speaking honestly, Corin did not know enough about the Empire's political situation to have seen this coming. Indeed, a great number of her comrades had not either. If they had, well, they had refrained from telling her about it. Which sounded about right.

Soldiers were only told what they needed to know. And right now what they needed to know was whether these crusaders came as friends. Or foes.

Corin assumed the latter. Why else would they have turned up enmasse, armed and armored for war? Not for a quick cup of caffe, surely. Whatever the case might prove to be, Corin would do her duty. They all would. Surveying the concourse, the Ultranaut Major could only nod in quiet approval as her brothers- and sisters-in-arms finished up fortifying their end of the port. Ultranauts in the black-and-red of the Empire marched hitherto, putting on the finishing touches of defenses they had slaved away over for the last hour or two. A battalion in total, the Empress' veteran soldiers were prepared now for whatever might come. The lower levels had been reinforced, the hard points secured. Checkpoints and pillboxes had been erected at key positions so that in the event that things turned violent, they would stand a better chance of repulsing attackers.

There were artillery batteries up top, too. Fortunately, Corin didn't have to worry about them. Someone else had that command.

Which left her with the grunts. Marvelous.

"Sir!" Turning at the sound of the voice, Corin returned the salute thrown her way as a corporal stopped in front of her. Tall, as all Epicanthix were, the corporal had to look down at Corin to see her. Having hailed from one of the human colonies, the Major was a lot shorter than most of the soldiers under her command. The Tenth Regiment had been raised on Panatha after all, back in the days of Tacitus' reign. Though they'd taken losses over the years, the greater number were still Epicanthix. Which made this kind of awkward, really. "There's been a sighting on the perimeter. Looks like a forward party's come to take a look at us." Nodding, Corin gestured for the corporal to walk-and-talk as she began to retrace his steps.

Falling in alongside her, the corporal had to shorten his stride to keep from outpacing her.

"How many do they number?" She asked, putting out a hand as her wolf droid, Banish, padded silently alongside her. The cold touch of druetium coursed through her fingers as the corporal replied. "Five in all. They tried to be all subtle-like while they went about scouting out our defenses but the guys up top caught 'em before they could get too close, warned them off." Nodding her approval, the Ultranaut Major paused at the turnstiles. "Good. The less they know about our defenses here, the better. Chances are the main force is not too far behind them. We need to be ready when they get here."

"We will be, sir. War or peace, you can count on the third."

"I know, corporal." Cor smiled. "I know."

It reminded her of Generis.

At the very least, in terms of the number and size of forces arrayed in a singular location, all preparing to engage in the brutal ritual of war. However, it went without saying that the location was vastly different from that world’s humid jungles. Canthar was a city, teeming with sapient life and all of its trappings. Now, that city was under assault by a rogue state from the far edge of the Tingel Arm, which had brought a large fleet and army many thousands of light-years to reach Eternal Imperial space and by extension, Panatha.

Eleena couldn’t dare to guess why.

The pale, white-skinned Twi’lek was no student of galactic history, in spite of the imprinted knowledge which had been flashed into her mind during her gestation within a First United Astral Engineering biological processing laboratory over a year before. Unbeknownst to her, within the enemy ranks there were many women who were created in much the same manner and by the same company, albeit programmed to fight for the Ashlan Crusade, where Eleena had been created to fight for the Agents of Chaos, before her transfer into the Eternal Navy.

Now, she flew out to potentially kill them.

“Mermaid Nine, checking in.” The Twi’lek said as she banked her swoop to starboard, flying in patrol formation with her wing mate over the city in order to monitor the movements of the Ashlan forces. Angling the nose of her swoop slightly down, she closed in on the formations of Ashlan tanks, the roar of her machine’s powerful twin ion engines echoing across the area as she made a low pass over one of the tank columns, sharp eyes picking up their location and relative composition as she did.

“All signs present and accounted for.” Isena said. “Okay everyone, stay close to your wing mates and don’t let any of those fighters get in on your six. If they do, shake them off.” The Echani squadron leader added. “Be ready for anything, Mermaids.”

As she came down for another pass, Eleena’s eyes went wide as she watched the formations of tanks and heavy infantry, before looking ahead towards the hospital, alarm bells suddenly ringing in her mind. Immediately, Eleena set her comms to the Eternal Imperial Battle Net, sensing the beginnings of what could become a hairy situation.

“This is Mermaid Nine, reporting Ashlan movements in sectors 51 through 55.” She began. “Enemy forces are converging on Canthar Regional Hospital Number 2.” The Twi’lek reported in a decisive tone, the potential danger bringing out a confidence which was almost uncharacteristic for the diminutive swoop ace.

“I believe that they intend to utilize the hospital as cover. Human shields. We need additional support in those sectors, now.”

“Y’all swoop up in here, all ‘give us a couple people as a sacrifice’ on a war-culture full of fighting giants, and expect us to what, cower away, sweep the main thoroughfare and give ‘em to you!? Did you even go to xeno-cultural sensitivity training!? If y’all even stopped for five minutes to check if’n that line of fire’s feasible, you’d see we Panathans don’t bow to outsiders. Heck, we don’t even bow to our monarchs without a brawl. GIT. OFF. MY. PLANET.” Transmission Off.

Good sweet Nussyn’s bootie, I’ve forgotten how bloodthirsty my Panathan peeps get, when there’s a fight in the air. Course, we Epicanthix never go down without one, nor are we willing to ‘give up’ even a tyrant to some outsider mooks, who dare tell us what we ought to do as if they own part of our bottom line. If the Ashlan Crusade knew this prior to swooping in on their lofty over-righteousness and pitiful zeal, then they knew the sheer thought of Panathans giving up even one family in fear is as ridiculous as a Mandalorian fighting without their beskar’gam.

Speaking of Beskar’gam, guess what I’m wearing? Goes with my ire. Standing beside my riduur & adopted daughter Stardust, I cringe inwardly. Would this be as necessary if I hadn’t prodded Girak Cadera Girak Cadera & Magnus Cadera Magnus Cadera to bring their Mom and little siblings for a visit? Goddess if I didn’t want to see my daughter, even if she has no memory of me, or the life she knew. Hold my grandbabies… and now here’s Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex probably poncing in on a poof of Darkside ponce in an oversized black sweater, the lot probably think he’s playing the game for the game’s sake. Safer that way, for Gunnr and the kids.

“Adenn, love? Star? That’s our family back there… no one gets through.” These Crusaders might have their reasons, and as someone who fought and died to get my child away from such freaks (failed catastrophically, mind), here I am holding an incredibly powerful blaster rifle, with the majority of my family behind me. “Our grandbabies are in that palace… make me proud.”

I cock my rifle as Adenn speaks. To say there's fear is dang wrong. I'm not afraid for Panatha, as much as I'm cautious of what even a pregnant mama will do to defend her children, I want enough of us left to keep up the population. I'm livid they'd even try it, sanctimonious gatekeepers of what, exactly? The moral right? They lost that long ago, ain't nobody got the right to tell others what to do, who to love. And all because of this stupid forcie-business. What a joke. What an absolute laugh. The one time I break down and ask to see my babies. Of course it's the one time.

“And Noah Corek, you git in here right now, boy! Think we’re savin’ the Fitz-Kierke’s without you, silly as a helmet with a hole between the eyes.”

Lilanna hadn't initially believed the report that enemy craft were entering their space, and yet, before her an army had amassed. Clad in her warden attire, she approached with a degree of hesitation. With the Empress receiving guests, it seemed a tad ominous that drop-ships were arriving. Regardless, she recognized the mark of the Crusader marked on the dropships, and a frown formed under her helmet. She knew about the Crusade, in fact, she had been on Ziost when they had arrived with their token force. She had come forth to meet the invaders and inquire for their being, when a strange winged entity seemingly appeared from no where. A rather nice way to start an interaction.
Her Sith origins were probably going to mark her for death with these radicals, and given how wild jedi were about her, she doubted that the coming conflict could be resolved with words. In spite of herself, the dark-side still stained part of herself, and the presence of Onrai didn't little in hiding that; the entity spoke to her, caution in her voice. 'Treachery looms before you daughter, steel yourself, or you shall be swept away by it's power.' She grimaced, wanting to finally force the entity from her, but the strength that it gifted her allowed her to protect those she cared about. Still, the words were ominous for the Warden, as she had to ponder where the betrayal would come from. Corin had left some of her men on guard within the palace for the safety of the Empress, so that was an unlikely turn of events. Still, she kept several paces back from Eina as she finally neared, her senses pushing out as she felt the brief impressions of the soldiers before her.
Ever the vigilant bodyguard, Lilanna's hand drew the hilt of her saber, though she didn't ignite the blade. Her eyes looking to the masses aligned before her, and knew that this could very easily go south. Activating the comlink in her helmet, she contacted the two battalions on stand by. "This is 'The Lady of Steel', prepare for a welcome party." With the alarm raised, Lilanna looked to the invaders, and tried to take something akin to a threatening stance. "Forces of the Ashen Crusade, you are intruding on the grounds of her Majesty, and will be met with force if you do not deter. What reason have you for such an offensive stance?" She called out, the voice modulator in her helm amplifying her voice.
Then she stood waiting, her body anticipating the worst.
'Damn it Corie, why did you have to leave me here?'

As Taozi and her fleet traveled through hyperspace, she went over the footage of Ziost that Felix Aquila Felix Aquila had given her. It was being broadcast to every ship in her fleet, and to her vode in Clan Gred's fleet. Even though the victims of Ziost were all citizens of the Sith Empire, the traitors who crushed the remains of the United Clans of Mandalore under their boot so many years ago, they were still only civilians. They had no say in what their government did,

Nor did they deserve to be burned alive in their own homes like insects.

Taozi could feel the burning rage of those on the bridge of the Fuyuan and understood why. The footage mirrored that of the Sith's attack on Concord Dawn, where they unleashed acidic wasps to melt the populace alive.

"Damn jetiise..."

"These are no jetiise, dear cousin. They do not bring Mercy in their wake. All they bring is death, destruction, and lies, so do not delude yourself into calling them what they are not. Darlyn Excron Darlyn Excron is a better Jetii than any lightsaber wielding fool in the Ashlan Crusade. At least he's able to determine that the civilians of a government are not guilty for the crimes of their government."

"Right... Entering Realspace in one minute."

Taozi nodded at Feng from her place on the bridge, flanked by two large armored figures. Each with curved horns protruding from their heads, fingers ending in large claws, one dressed in red and gold beskar'gam, the other almost pure black. Admittedly, the red and gold figure looked almost asleep on his feet, which was a stark contrast to the figure in black, which looked like it was barely able to stand still. It flexed its clawed fingers constantly, and shifted its weight from foot to foot.

Once the blue glow of hyperspace faded away to Realspace, Taozi looked over Panatha's space, and grinned. She would show these Jedi pretenders just who they really acted like. She heard the voice of Adenn Kyramud Adenn Kyramud over the open comms, followed by his wife Aditya Fitz Kierke Aditya Fitz Kierke of course, and all Taozi could do was laugh. Her vode on the bridge turned in confusion to their Alor, as Taozi laughed and laughed. Even the figure in black tilted it's head to the side. Eventually, Taozi sighed with satisfaction, before standing straight, and smoothing out her doctor scrubs and coat.

"Feng, start playing the broadcast as prepared."

"Yes, Alor."

Seconds later, video footage of Taozi standing on the bridge of her flagship, the armored figures in the shot as well, would be broadcasted to all ships with open communication, and below her calm face would be side by side video of the Ashlan Crusade's attack on Ziost, and the former Sith Empire's attack on Concord Dawn. Anyone without the ability to see the video feed would hear just her voice.

"Greetings, Ashlan Crusade. I am Doctor Taozi Fuyuan Tal, Alor of Clan Tal of Tanaab. My Clan and I are here to evacuate innocent civilians from those amongst your ranks that would use your name to perform acts of violence that only the Sith that you claim to fight against would dare to commit. Really, you should keep an eye on that sort of thing, lest people believe you've become that which you seek to fight against...

"It sure would be a shame if the innocent people of Panatha fall victim to the same crime, now wouldn't it? Truly, only Sith would punish innocent civilians for the actions of their rulers, yes? Now, I shall give you a choice, Ashlan Crusade... Allow my Clan and I to do our job with no resistance, or attack a humanitarian fleet and have about five other Mandalorian clans baring down on your necks like a wolf to a sheep.

"I'll let you decide as my fleet begins our descent planetside."

"But this is Panatha, Cardinal! In this place, a six- to seven-year-old child is also considered a warrior, the members of the Epicanthix species will send the children too against the Crusade, because their culture requires this!" she said and there was helpless emphasis in her voice.

The woman, unlike her mother, often showed her feelings, like her father. Yes, there were civilians on the planet, immigrants; who were not members of the natives.

"Yes, you are here because of this. I may be on your side, but remember, formally I'm princess of the Eternal Empire. I cannot allow there to be a war between the two states!" she said firmly.

She did not say many times that she was related to the imperial family of the Eternal Empire, but the Valkyrja was like her mother in this matter.

"Are you aware that the local ruler is a neutral Force User? I find it disgusting that you want to blackmail someone with innocent lives to lure him out of hiding. This is what the Sith do, not the Light side, Cardinal! Please consider this! To the attack? No, I have to protect both sides here from the other." she would not let go of this, because Eina did not want the blood of either side to soak the land of Panatha. It wasn't worth it, simply didn't worth it.

Meanwhile, a young woman was trying to speak to them from the Eternal Empire. The Valkyrja didn't know who she was (Lil); She looked to Pietro for the man to answer her, after all he was the military leader, Eina just helped them. Last but not least, it can cause inconvenience if she responds in her own voice, and she doesn't want to change it. She always used the same appearances and her own voice for a reason…

She hoped that fighting and bloodshed between the parties would be avoided…

The good will the Crusade had gained with the EE back on Ziost was fragile at best. The imperials would have begun a violent conflict the moment the Ashlan army set down on Panatha were it otherwise, and they wouldn't need much provocation to do so with it either. He would trust Isla Draellix-Kobitana Isla Draellix-Kobitana and Pietro Demici Pietro Demici to act tactfully. Theirs was a game of a maneuver and diplomacy, one that Cedric played with a great deal of risk. Some might have said it was too much, given how easily he flitted around the possibility of another war.

Carnifex's presence here proved that the gamble had not been without merit.

The Sith Lord's insults were a return of Cedric's own, and inspired little in the Essonian other than anticipation. The Zambrano patriarch had slipped through his fingers for decades, either hiding behind his vast armies or absconding the moment absolute victory was not ensured. All the while, Cedric had given chase in one sense or another, be it by leading rebel militias in the heart of the Sith realms, or forging armies with which to tear down the walls of Carnifex's empire.

That malevolent beast was slain now, yet its progenitor remained. Panatha had never been of any true relevance, the greater Zambrano family targets for interrogation but similarly irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. This charade, what some might have considered to be the murder of any good relations between the EE and the Crusade, had served its purpose. Carnifex was here, no other obligations distracted him, and Ingrid suggested exactly what he'd anticipated she would.

"Far less than you have my emperor," Cedric replied to the Sith Lord, hints of amusement lacing his words. He turned toward Ingrid. "There will be no war between our peoples empress. You and your nation have played your part. My greatest apprentice is Epicanthix, I would not bring any destruction to Panatha. We only needed to play at a proper show of force to bring our prey out from its hiding place. The Crusade only intends to bring members of the Zambrano family known to have participated in war crimes to trial. There can be no peace without justice."

The exile turned his gaze once again to Carnifex, though he still spoke to the Eternal Empress. "As to your suggestion, I wholeheartedly agree. I doubt any lord that has been hailed as the Sith'ari in times past would run from the opportunity to slay a Jedi. Don't dissapoint me." Truthfully it did not matter whether he did or not. They stood in the Eternal Empire's court now, and he expected Ingrid would allow him to do his work whether the Sith agreed to an 'honorable contest' or not if it meant the continuation of friendly relations between their two nations. That he was surrounded by the Epicanthix and their warriors meant little. If Carnifex were to refuse, he expected the EE would take the side of the Ashlans, and the conflict would be decided.

Ession would finally be avenged, and then perhaps Cedric could allow himself to know some semblance of peace.

Frank would move around the first floor as he nodded to the empress without so much as a word noting they had tha front entrence handled. in response to this frank would make his way to the rear of the palace setting up sandbags with other ultranaughts as he began assisting in setting up gun nests and assisting in setting up killzones in the rear of the palace.

“This is Mermaid Nine, reporting Ashlan movements in sectors 51 through 55.”
"10/4 Eleena Salwa Eleena Salwa its good to see the mermaids havnt died out after the fight against omni." Frank stated without hiding his voice as he set himself up in a gun nest resting his D16 in his lap as he watched the battlefeild and the rest of the rear defenses were being set up by ultranaughts.

"You are correct," replied the Dark Lord, "The prey has been drawn into the trap, but you are mistaken on the predator."

With monolithic gravitas, the Dark Lord raised His left hand up towards the palace ceiling as electricity crackled between each of His fingers. The very stones of the palace rumbled in response, a seismic quake rippling through not only the floor beneath their feet but the entire city of Canthar as well. Above the city, dark clouds suddenly began to form directly overhead. A swirling maelstrom of wind and rain enveloped the city, the edge of the storm rushing out in all directions.

From space, it appeared as if the entire planet was being covered by a blanket of absolute darkness. The Dark Side of the Force rolled over everything, growing all the more oppressive with each passing second. Vibrant crimson lightning arced out from the blackened skies, crackling with the roar of an atom bomb, and slammed down with concussive force. Anything inorganic within the vicinity of these thunderbolts was thrown back violently, while anything organic was vaporized.

A howling gale accompanied the storm, the screeching wail like the moaning of the very damned themselves. Shadows obscured everything, the darkness so complete that it even began to affect sensor equipment. The feeling of dread and despair fell just as harshly on the city as the thunder, rain, and lightning did.

Controlled by the colossal will of the Dark Side, the storm churned as if a living beast to strike those who trespassed upon the planet.

Within the palace, Carnifex extended His hand directly outward. Black flames leaped from his fingertips, writhing violently before coalescing into a monstrous sword emblazoned with blood-red runes along the flat face of the blade. Darkness and evil radiated out from the sword, a terrible weapon of oppression and murder. Thousands upon thousands of souls were trapped beneath its polished surface, the echo of their final moments crying out for eternity. Carnifex's fingers wrapped around the sword's hilt, the weapon becoming a direct extension of the Dark Lord's body, as connected as any part of His arm. Through His insidious will, the blade would scour countless worlds.

He angled the tip towards Cedric, intent on violence when a figure appeared in His peripheral vision.

Mig looked at transmission as it came in from Taozi. It was heard to watch. He'd get up, looking out the Med I's bridge window as they prepared to revert to real space. It would be a trick for sure. Get in, and get people off world, while the Gred Fleet protected their Vod's evac vessels. And soon, they would appear. Or at least all of them but the Keros' Kad, which vanished into a cloak before anyone could lay their eye on it. Kaddie's computer quick timing should have left the Kad as a mere "error" to anyone who didn't know better. The Mandalorian would look at the other ships. The Atin'la and her Shields would position themselves between Taozi's flagship and the AC fleet, with the Shields' jammers activating to keep missiles from locking. At the same time, DF-1 Scarab droids poured out of the escorts' hangers, quickly flitting around and getting on guard.

Mig would soon hear Taozi speak, and would take a breath as he listened.

"Calmer than I expected vod. You've seemed... different this mission." After hearing her response, he would continue. "Med I and Exogorth are going to land with your ships. Figured I'd bring what I could, and we don't need Med I on the ground all the time now." And with that, the corvette and utility vessel would start to slip into formation with the Tal ships. Hopefully they could get people to safety.

He never really set foot upon Panatha until it was under siege, he only came to assist because he wished to protect his new family from annihilation from those who seem to have this deluded dream that they can permanently exterminate the dark by acting like they are above its influence. Hes been around long enough to know that the cycle will keep going no matter how hard one tries. He brought his strongest Gam with him and his hammer and his spear as he kept with Gunner and the children within the sanctum, He said nothing except prepared himself for attack if it was needed.

His gaze was upon the children and gunner and the one within her belly, whilst his senses where at Carnifex and the others location they seemed to be ramping it up but he will not approach unless Gunnr does his priority was to protect and he will live up too it as he prepared a few ...new surprises for those that wish to harm them

The fools, the damnable fools still came. It made Adenn sneer beneath his helm, how frakking foolish could one group be that they decided to face down so much power. How righteous were they to think this was the best solution. Watching as those landers came in and disgorged troops and tanks, Adenn couldn't help but snarl with annoyance. They came with such armaments, yet Adenn also received a report from a company Al'verde(commander) that the Ashlan areutii had called for parlay there, seeking to defend it alongside the local forces. Not only that, but there were other reports of parlays coming in, something that sat ill with Adenn. But he and his would not be the first to open fire, but they certainly would be the last.

However, though they would not be the first to fire upon the crusaders, they were still positioning themselves to prevent any noteworthy moves into the city. Wherever their tanks or troops moved, various tanks and walkers were marching to prevent inward movement. They could do nothing regarding the encirclement of the city without opening fire, but preventing pushes into the city was simply enough. Whether forces from Isla Draellix-Kobitana Isla Draellix-Kobitana or Pietro Demici Pietro Demici , regulars or transports, all would find inward pushes difficult. Every major thoroughfare was locked down by various forces, and there were countless more barricades and fortified buildings or bunkers strewn about. All manned in some fashion or another by warriors, whether Mandalorian, Panathan, or armor. And more often than not, some mixture of the three. And for those aiming to push in where the line was thinner, quick response forces would appear soon enough, never in large numbers, but always with the promise of more coming should anyone try anything.

As for the hospital, it was a mixed force that protected it. Forces from various forces were present, Mandalorian, Panathan, and machines of war. Surrounding the hospital were rings of pre-fabricated trenches and building bunkers with embedded locations for various tanks. Titan Tanks were in said locations, already in missile and anti-air configurations. Not only that, but a half dozen Hellwalkers were evenly spaced around the hospital and trenches. To top off the defenses was one Heavy Walker, standing tall before the hospital, a pale imitation of Hell's Angel before the palace. More than that though, there were dozens more vehicles and weapons bearing the marks of Panatha and House Fitz-Kierke present, with Epicanthix standing amongst the defenders with ease. Aside from the armor, there were also ground forces present, mainly located in the trenches and bunkers, ready to repel any attacking force. Amongst them were two primary individuals, the Mandalorian Al'verde, and a Panathan Priest. They had received the message regarding the hospital, and soon sent a message back, primarily worded by the Priest.

"Outsiders such as you are not welcome anywhere near our sick and wounded. Approach our hospital and holy lands any further, and we will drive you back with fire and flame. We serve the gods and they will see you driven from here for your crimes." It was the Priest who said those words, voice growling low over the comms. At the time he said that, the AC forces were around a hundred meters away from the furthest trench, which was itself around a hundred plus meters away from the hospital, followed by several more rings of trenches and bunkered buildings. It was evident they cared little for the outside forces, nor would they welcome them closer.

While talks with the Ashlans were short and to the point, Adenn himself had some matters to address close to home. As his broadcast had ended and now was only a waiting game, it was the time for discussions with his aliit. Turning to Star, Adenn nodded and responded in Mando'a only when she was fully finished speaking.
"<Aye ner'vod, but that'll spread them thin. It'll spread us somewhat thin as well, but any push will have to be where we are weaker. All that will result in, is them pushing inbetween our primary holding zones. And that means we can cut them off simply enough. Any push into the city will result in us taking bits out of them, wearing them down.>" Satisfaction was evident in Adenn's voice, along with pride that his clan had planned this so well. Of course siege warfare was their speciality, but seeing it fully played out was still very satisfying. "<I would welcome them to push in, as it means they truly don't hold to their word. Let them come, and let them die.>"

And then his c'yare came to him, bringing Adenn's attention to her in an instance. Smiling at her, he took the step closer and gave her a keldabe kiss once her own speech was over. She's still as strong as ever, and it makes Adenn's smile all the more genuine. Nodding to the family bit, Adenn places a hand on Aditya's shoulder, ready to assure her they would be safe. And then his reality shook at the bombshell she revealed next. Their grandchildren were in there, that much Adenn knew. But the way in which she said it, it meant there were more than just Girak-Kaine and Magnus were there. The way she said their family was there meant there were more present, more family. Not just the two grandchildren, but more, and perhaps another...

"<Aditya, riduur. The way you say that, do... who all of our family is there.>"

There was hope in Adenn's voice, of the possibilities of what she said. He knew he had more than just Girak and Magnus, but he doubted sincerely that Mig would put his children in such harm as to bring them to Panatha. By Manda, her saying grandbabies like that most likely meant there had been more children born, and that meant some form of Yasha yet lived, rather than the symbiote that had been. The possibilities of that, they shook him...

Hei Sogecki mounted on Loki flying high over the jungle and city

Thump...thump...thump...thump... The wings of the young Rancor-dragon made a slow beat as she soared high on the thermals above the warm jungle terrain below. Hei was maybe 6000m in the air and had a commanding view of the Ashlan landers as they streaked through the air and made their landing below. From up here the world looked so peaceful, he could see movement as the Ashlan tanks spilled out of the bottom of the huge ships and the starfighters swept from their hangars.

In the distance he could see the hospital complex, this would be the first Ashlan objective and an important one to ensure the safety of the civilians. His own ship was high in orbit, cloaked, a squadron of Huntsmen had been prepared and were landed not far from the Ashlan Bastion ships, these would be able to support Hei if needed, maybe he would find some wild creature to capture and study, maybe not.

Below him and a few kilometers away he saw a group of swoop speeders, he was not aware of the crusade using vehicles like that, so he could only assume they were defending the city. He radioed their location to the Ashlan commanders, just in case they had not been spotted, Hei understood the need for mobility in combat so this unit could prove a powerful foe.

He pushed Loki into a lazy banking manoeuvre that would change her path and take her onto an intercept course with the swoops. He wouldn't engage, that was not the plan, but he wanted a closer look.

[ Defence of Panatha ]
<"High Nelvaanian"> | ~ telepathic communication ~

"Gentlemen, please. It would have been easier to set a message on an asteroid to have a date here and not risk a war. And you're wrong, Lord Grayson. If you survive, you’ll still pay for this, I’m not going to let you out of here so easily." she said, still in a cold voice, her body language revealing that she was not thinking of a fight or punishment under the payment, but of something else.

After all, it was only by luck that GA and the NIO did not join the crusade. Then the war would really have been inevitable. She nodded gratefully to Cedric as the man agreed to the offer. Ingrid stood motionless when Carnifex created the Force Storm. It was time to present why she took on the role of judge and also that she might be able to keep the two men in check if necessary. For a while. The Empress wasn't happy about it, she didn't like to have to show too much from her own power.

"You were wrong to think that my role ended here, Lord Grayson, Lord Carnifex. I will be your judge and overseer. If any of you break the rules…" she started with her usual cold tone. Then she made an elegant gesture beside herself, as if dragging her forefinger along something surface. Her eyes glowed grayish-blue for a few moments as she conjured a spell. In principle, this should have been a dark side ritual, but the woman remained neutral in the Force throughout. The movement went from top to bottom and the movement opened a visible rift in the fabric of reality from which the power of Netherworld could be felt. "I will intervene and throw him there in person. To a part of the Netherworld from which you will never be able to return, never! If everything is good for Lord Grayson, you can get started. But, if you want Lord Grayson, I’ll smash the storm before you start if you think this is not an equal condition." she offered.

She has not closed the rift yet; good enough warning. If all is true, then Kahlil arrives; the woman just raises her hand and she speaks to Carnifex's son that way she doesn't look at him yet.

"I know you want to, but you won't interfere! That will end here today." then spoke into the communication channel. <"Start the evacuation of the palace and its surroundings, hopefully Lord Grayson will also send his men and not risk their deaths. Try to avoid the conflict with them! L'lerim out!">

The very palace shook, and Kahlil could feel why. Darkness, summoned by Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex himself. He found himself staring at the doors to the room this confrontation seemed to be reaching it's pinnacle. Fear gripped every part of his body. This wasn't something he wanted to face. And yet, Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim remained. Her will similarly seemed to extend behind those doors, ripping another hole to a dimension he didn't want to go back to. What was her plan? And who was this other person there?

He gripped the hilt of his lightsaber as he stepped forward.

Only to freeze once the doors opened. There he was. The once Emperor, standing with lightsaber in hand. Facing down yet another Jedi. The fear he'd been trying to push past was too much to ignore now. The hilt in his hand shook, unsteady in his grasp. He couldn't even ignite the blade. Why had he even bothered to show up? Ingrid certainly didn't need his help.

For the moment, her words fell on deaf ears. Kahlil couldn't turn his attention from the source of his dread.

"Father."

Her head turned towards Adenn Kyramud Adenn Kyramud , a chuckle escapes her lips as she crouched down and looked over the battlefield that she could. It was all just pawns on a chess board to stardust at this point. All of it was just a cosmic game played out a million times over and would play out again and again till the end of all, eyes turned towards the palace and its defenses, every inch that may get lost would cost the enemy before them ten fold if not more if stardust could ensure it.

Tilting her head she listened to the comms, chuckling stardust stood as she inhaled and let a calm breath out

their coming, but holding back, we may not see violence today. But I know these type of vermin, their blood thirsty and single minded, their like the vong are instead however they wish to see a single family eliminated...I fething hate jetii

Her trust in the jetii had worn thin in years prior, they were to stardust a facade at this point, the same could be said to the sith as well of course but at this point it was all games stardust knew too well. Rolling her neck she let a breath out in annoyance at the current situation

mmmm....gunnr is here...with her kids and lords shes pregnant too...I do hope she takes word and doesnt come to join us i... I cant let her repeat her past life again I refuse! I will let my soul burn asunder before that happens

Eyes turned back to the scene before her as stardust let a growl out, the dark side bathed over her body and she turned towards the palace as her eyes blinked

it would seem carnifex has met his opponent...battle comes soon ba'buir...I will join the fight when they get closer....for now I shall show them true judgement

She dipped herself into the dark side, feeling it course through her and fuel her as stardust took a seat overlooking the battle field and inhaled deeply before slowly letting it out. The air would grow warm but not yet catch flame

Hope could come through that no violence would come, but stardust was still eager now to crusade the crusaders
