STRENGTHS
  • Damage Output: The Kopa Khan has an extreme damage output for a weapon of its class, capable of defeating molecularly dense materials, including armor and chitin up to a light vehicle scale, functioning along the vein of an anti-materiel energy weapon. The Kopa Khan’s bolts also explode on contact, making them somewhat difficult to defend against for lightsaber wielders.
  • Powered Performance: When linked to a power generator, typically in a vehicle platform, the Kopa Khan will enjoy a longer effective range, allowing it to maintain optimal performance across the distances of most conventional areas of engagement.
  • Anti-Ray Shield: The energized plasma beams fired by the Kopa Khan possess a rare energy frequency, lending them the capability of bypassing ray shields in the manner of a solar ionization weapon. However, they can be intercepted by Molecular, Xythan Force, Arkanian, Verpine, and most other types of defensive barriers capable of defending against energy weapons.
WEAKNESSES
  • Heavy Weapon: Though average weight for a weapon of its class, the Kopa Khan is a heavy weapon, necessitating that it be treated as such. Firing on the move is generally not possible for an unaugmented human or a Near-Human operator. Linking the weapon to a mobile power generator will further increase the weight, however, this is typically only done for vehicle and emplacement mounts and very rarely for infantry use.
  • Rate of Fire: In a class defined by the ancient, yet still competitive Z-6 Rotary Blaster Cannon, a weapon capable of discharging "roughly 166 discrete full-powered shots per second", the Kopa Khan has an abysmal rate of fire by comparison, with a maximum cycle rate of only 15 full-powered shots per second. Naturally, the Kopa Khan is inferior as a suppressive fire platform compared to its ancient cousin.
  • Heat and Recoil Generation: The Kopa Khan's recoil primarily manifests as powerful physical kickback and quick heat generation, both of which may act as limiting factors to the weapon's sustained rate of fire in combat, though these effects may be mitigated, but never entirely eliminated, by firing the weapon in short bursts.
DESCRIPTION
As First United Astral Engineering's second attempt at a man portable heavy weapon, along the vein of a rotary plasma cannon, the FAE/W-05 "Kopa Khan" Rotary Particle Beam Cannon is intended as a versatile platform for both infantry and vehicle use, with extreme potential damage output at the cost of rate of fire. In terms of size and weight, it is roughly average in its class, though the weapon is still quite heavy for a man portable platform. However, the Kopa Khan's weight is offset by its effectiveness and potential lethality, with enough energy output to function as an anti-materiel weapon across its effective range. As such, it may be extremely lethal against infantry and light vehicles, with potential to chip away at the armor of medium vehicles when used en masse and/or with highly concentrated fire.

However, the Kopa Khan suffers from a strong recoil and overheating issues, both of which act to limit its effective rate of fire under typical operating conditions. Nevertheless, the designers maintain optimism for the weapon, with plans to integrate it into First United Astral Engineering's present and future lineup of vehicles, starships, and other host platforms.

Hello, now to start. This is currently 2 points over the limit for balanced. When using multiple ratings for an area the highest will be used.

Using kyber crystals would add explosive results if it is cracked. Even the small ones with energy going through it. THis should be reflected in the weaknesses.

Low Feedback Mode (Default Setting; Deactivates Active Scanners/Sensors for Stealth Operations)
Not being able to be detected by sensors would push this towards stealth technology in the weapon. Per the rule

Particularly rare or powerful special features may necessitate using a lower level of production (cloaking technology, personal cloaking devices, gemcutters, crystal grav traps, moon dust, equivalent stealth or anti stealth technologies), or rare canon technologies (Hyperwave Inertial Momentum Sustainers, etc) and their equivalents will only be permitted at Semi-Unique production.

More clarification will be needed as it is vague if this is just for the scanner or going across the entire weapon.

Damage Output: The Kopa Khan has an extreme damage output for a weapon of its class, capable of defeating molecularly dense materials, including armor and chitin up to a light vehicle scale, functioning along the vein of an anti-materiel energy weapon. The Kopa Khan’s bolts also explode on contact, making them somewhat difficult to defend against for lightsaber wielders.

After discussion, handheld arms like a rifle is not going to be effective against an armored vehicle. Unarmored is possible however.

Overall this is goign to need some work to reach snuff. If you want the stealth features then dropping production would take away the points you are over in terms of balancing. The damage output can be adjusted as needed and the weakness aadded for the kyber crystal.

When the edits are done tag me.

The extra points do not apply when the weapon is not attached to a power generator (Which correspondingly increases the size and weight of the platform). That was explained under the "Powered Performance" strength and "Heavy Weapon" weakness. I don't feel it necessary to add more to that.

I removed the Low-Feedback scanner, though to be honest, I'm not sure where this idea that passive sensors fall under stealth technology comes from.

The kyber crystal focusing system was removed as well.

I uhhh...don't see it mentioned that this weapon is a rifle or even comparable to one in size. If something was lost in translation there, I will try to make that more clear if necessary. That said, there is canon precedent for a weapon of this size and even smaller being used against vehicles (Including Tanks for the weapon in the first link) or at the very least, being implied as effective against them.

The points are there to illustrate how the weapon's modularity (In this case, being linked to a power generator) affects its performance. In much the same way that the Z-6 Rotary Blaster Cannon enjoys a higher ammunition capacity when attached to a power generator (Which by implication also makes the overall platform larger and heavier), this weapon enjoys a longer range when attached to the aforementioned device, which is illustrated in the separate ratings, for both the Power Generator and Mobile variants.

Okay so it can be mounted or unmounted it still requires dropping two ratings to be balanced. If you want battlefield range two it down in other areas. Just because the ratings don't come into play unless conditions are met doesn't mean you can have over ratings. If that was so someone could max everything out and have x condition activate it.

Once the edits are made we can move to the next parts.
