  • Phrik-coated Edge: The edges of the Lucius-pattern bayonet are coated in Phrik, giving them the ability to block lightsabers
  • Serrated Upper Edge: The upper edge of the Lucius-pattern bayonet is partially serrated, allowing it to be used as a multifunctional tool, thus giving it the versatility of a combat utility knife

  • Lightsaber Resistant: The Lucius-pattern bayonet features Phrik-coated edges which give it the ability to block lightsabers for a short period of time
  • Versatile: The Lucius-pattern bayonet is a highly versatile combat utility knife that can be used for a variety of tasks on and off the battlefield, such as cutting wood and opening ration packs

  • High Maintenance: The bonding between the Phrik coating and the Durasteel blade is fairly fragile and requires periodic maintenance, otherwise the coating may become damaged
  • Heat Transferrance: While the blade's Phrik coating can block lightsabers, it can only do so for a limited amount of times, as the heat from the lightsaber is transferred into the blade, gradually damaging the bonds between the Phrik and the Durasteel, causing the coating to become brittle and inflicting damage upon the blade

As the Eternal Army's combat doctrine places significantly more attention on hand-to-hand combat than the doctrines of most galactic militaries, the need for a versatile, more durable combat utility knife was made evident after the Battle of Eshan, where the Eternal Army's soldiers were forced to execute a bayonet charge against Mandalorian forces and their vibroblades were found to be underperforming in the task.

Developed as a replacement for the vibroblades previously used by the Eternal Army as and combat utility knives, the Lucius-pattern bayonet is a simple, versatile weapon that lacks any of the electronic and mechanical components used in vibroblades, thus reducing the instances of malfunction.

Manufactured by Karavin Concern, a Nelvaanian military-industrial conglomerate which supplies a large portion of the Eternal Army's equipment, the Lucius-pattern bayonet is an average-sized, double-edged Durasteel dagger, with partially serrated, Phrik-coated edges that give it a limited ability to block lightsabers. Unfortunately, while Phrik is nearly indestructible, the chemical bonds between it and the Durasteel, is not. Periodic maintenance is required and prolonged contact with lightsaber blades will gradually inflict damage to these bonds, causing the coating to become brittle and damaged over time.

The Lucius-pattern bayonet is issued as the standard combat utility knife of the various branches of the Eternal Empire's military, such as the Army, Logistics Corps and the Navy.
