PHYSICAL INFORMATION

Age: Five Galactic Standard Years.
Force Sensitivity: Force Dead.
Species: Sithspawn.
Appearance:

Naurdeimos looks like something bred purely for terror and battlefield dominance.

Its body is low-slung and predatory, as if crossbred from a Krayt Dragon and an Asharl Panther. Thick, overlapping obsidian-black scales cover its hide, each scale rough and uneven, giving the impression of natural armour rather than skin. Along its spine and shoulders, the scales rise into jagged, blade-like protrusions, some cracked and darkened as if scorched by heat or corrupted energy.

The head is broad and brutal, with a heavy skull and a short, powerful snout. Its eyes glow a violent crimson, sunken deep beneath armoured brow ridges, portraying a wild ferocity and primal intelligence. When its jaws open, rows of long, uneven fangs are visible, stained dark and serrated, clearly designed for tearing through armour as easily as flesh.

Powerful forelimbs end in oversized claws, each talon curved, thick, and capable of pinning prey effortlessly. The musculature beneath the scales is dense and coiled, suggesting explosive speed despite its size. Its hind legs are equally massive, built for lunging charges and crushing impacts.

Extending behind it is an elongated, whip-like tail, thicker near the base and tapering to a hardened, blade-shaped tip. The tail's motion looks purposeful, capable of sweeping enemies off their feet or delivering lethal strikes on its own.

Overall, the creature feels engineered rather than natural, a Sithspawn forged through alchemy and dark-side corruption. Everything about its appearance communicates savagery, obedience to violence, and a horrific display of primal strength.

SOCIAL INFORMATION

Sithspawn Name: Naurdeimos.
Alias/Pet Name: Shadow.
Loyalties: Kellan Dashiell Kellan Dashiell .
Notable Possessions: -
Personality: -

Naurdeimos radiates violence, an entity shaped by Sith alchemy and dark science, its very existence steeped in predatory instinct. In stark contrast to Kellan Dashiell, it is remarkable that such a creature displays unwavering loyalty and fierce protectiveness toward a young Force-user raised in compassion, mercy, and restraint.

Were it not for the biological conditioning embedded into the Sithspawn at its creation, there is little doubt Naurdeimos would have torn Kellan apart the moment they met. Instead, the beast appears bound to a singular purpose: to serve as Kellan's companion, shield, and instrument of survival upon the battlefield.

This bond, however, does not extend beyond Kellan, much to the concern of Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell .

Naurdeimos regards others with thinly veiled hostility. While it has learned to tolerate the Dashiell family over time, owing largely to Balun's role in discovering the creature and keeping it isolated during its early, volatile period, they are never left alone with it. The risk of violence remains ever-present.

To Naurdeimos, Kellan's word is absolute law; all other attempts at command, friendship, or familiarity are met with defiance, suspicion, or open aggression.

Training: Long-Term Behavioural Drift.

What makes Naurdeimos truly unsettling, and paradoxically fascinating, is that prolonged exposure to Kellan's compassion appears to be subtly warping its original conditioning. This influence does not erase the creature's violent nature, nor does it cure the instincts etched into it through Sith alchemy; instead, it complicates them.

At times, the Sithspawn hesitates where it once would have killed without pause, particularly when Kellan is emotionally distressed. When acting as Kellan's guardian, it has shown an emerging preference for restraint, employing non-lethal force where lethal violence would have once been instinctive.

Beyond the battlefield, Naurdeimos displays possessive, almost watchful behaviours, lingering close to Kellan even in moments of calm. None of this was ever part of its design or training, and it is precisely this unpredictable deviation that would deeply unsettle Sith alchemists and raise quiet concern in observers such as Balun.

COMBAT INFORMATION

Combat Function:
  • Shock Assault: Rapid, overwhelming initial attack designed to break enemy formations through fear and brute force.
  • Close-Quarters Elimination: Excels in confined spaces, using claws, fangs, and body mass to neutralise armoured targets.
  • Armoured Target Breach: Specifically conditioned to tear through plastoid armour and crush reinforced materials.
  • Area Denial: Uses size, aggression, and tail sweeps to control space and prevent enemy advance.
  • Guardian Interposition: Positions itself between Kellan and threats, absorbing or deflecting incoming attacks.
  • Pursuit and Hunt: Tracks fleeing enemies relentlessly, prioritising targets marked as hostile to Kellan.
  • Suppressive Presence: Emits growls, roars, and aggressive posturing to induce panic and hesitation in opponents.
  • Target Disruption: Breaks enemy cohesion by isolating and eliminating key combatants.
  • Command-Responsive Engagement: Attacks, holds, or disengages immediately in response to Kellan's commands or intent.
  • Non-Lethal Subdual (Conditional): When guarding rather than attacking, restrains or incapacitates threats without killing.
  • Battlefield Recovery: Returns to Kellan's side after engagements, maintaining constant protective proximity.
Force Abilities: N/A.

Strengths:
  • + Loyal to Kellan Dashiell.
  • + Unsavoury desire to kill on the battlefield.
  • + Land and airborne combatant.
Weaknesses:
  • - Innate hunger for death and carnage.
  • - Intolerant of all others.
  • - Creature of Darkness, inherently evil.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

To understand the story of Naurdeimos, one must first understand the history shared by Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell and Lady Falentra Lady Falentra , formerly known as Nouqai Veil, and the mother of Kellan Dashiell Kellan Dashiell .

Balun Dashiell and Nouqai Veil were raised together within the New Jedi Order, inducted as younglings and shaped by the same rigid doctrine. Both displayed pronounced antisocial tendencies, and in each other, they found an immediate and lasting connection. They lived, trained, and served side by side under the Jedi of the Galactic Alliance until their mid-teens, when their paths diverged in ways neither could have anticipated.

Nouqai, fiercely driven by her desire to become a Jedi Knight, ultimately failed her trials. The failure shattered her self-worth and left her deeply disillusioned with the Order she had devoted her life to. During a later mission alongside her Master, the two encountered Sith forces, and conflict followed. The Master returned to Coruscant alone, reporting that Nouqai had been killed in action. In truth, the report was a fabrication, born of mutual desperation. Nouqai chose to abandon the Jedi and pursue the Sith, believing they alone could provide answers about her origins as a Sithspawn. Rather than admit his failure as a teacher, the Wookiee Knight allowed the lie to stand, consigning her to the dead in the official record.

By this time, Balun had already fled the New Jedi Order for reasons of his own. Taken in as an orphan, he had been raised in a life he never chose, and over the years, resentment had taken root. He learned to keep others at a distance, and when the opportunity arose, he vanished into the lower levels of the city, surviving as best he could beyond the reach of the Order.

Despite everything, Balun and Nouqai remained in contact. Bound by shared trauma and mutual understanding, their relationship deepened into something intimate and complicated. Balun continued to pursue the Light, while Nouqai embraced the Sith and walked a far darker path. It was a relationship doomed by circumstance, yet neither foresaw the consequences it would bring.

Kellan's birth was kept from Balun entirely. Unknown to both father and son, another sibling exists somewhere in the galaxy. As a hybrid of human and Sithspawn, Kellan drew the attention of Sith scientists eager to study him. When he was taken from Nouqai, she was forced to turn against her own people to save her child from experimentation. Realising he would never truly be safe with her, she entrusted Kellan to his grandfather, Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell , knowing that Balun would ultimately find and protect him.

There is no love between Nouqai, now Lady Falentra, and Balun Dashiell today. Their last encounter nearly ended in her death when she attempted to reclaim Kellan, spared only by Balun's Jedi training and hard-earned restraint. Since becoming a father, Balun has poured credits and countless sleepless nights into fortifying Kellan's safety, ever aware that the boy's mother still lives and may return at any time.

It is against this backdrop that the sudden and deeply troubling arrival of Naurdeimos must be understood. One evening, Balun and Kellan returned home to find a massive crate waiting in their living room, addressed as a gift for their son. Despite every security measure and precaution, Falentra had somehow infiltrated their home without triggering alarms or leaving a trace. The crate was the only sign she had been there at all, and the only thing she wished her son to have.

"Knecaetis nuyak woyunuk, this gift was created just for you. Its name is Naurdeimos. May he keep you company. It is a cruel sorrow for you to be kept away from me. But our time apart will strengthen you, I am sure of it. It should be nearly time that you learn to embrace the force in full. My son, know that you are meant for great things; do not allow anyone to hold you back from reaching your full potential. Take control, and you will find your way back to me. Wonoksh Qyâsik Tu. Your sister and I are waiting for your return. Like you, your twin is kept at a distance, but I know she will want to meet you one day.

With love,
Your Dearest Mother, Darth Falentra tave Meloseyri iv Deimosza".

Combat Function: A rebel unit operating autonomously, often at the edges of the conflict where few dare to venture. They specialize in high-risk, high-impact missions, their actions leaving a lasting echo throughout the galaxy long after they've slipped away into the shadows.
Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): N/A.

Strengths:

  • Special Forces Unit: Task-Force Rebel Dawn is an elite, tightly-knit military unit, honed for precision and excellence across multiple theatres of war. Whether fighting on the ground, engaging in aerial dogfights, or battling amidst the stars in the vacuum of space, this squad excels in all forms of combat. As Tingel Arm special forces, they are expertly trained, heavily armed, and equipped with cutting-edge technology, making them the go-to team for high-stakes, high-priority missions that demand nothing less than perfection.
Weaknesses:
  • Five-Man Army: Despite their advanced training and formidable equipment, Rebel Dawn is a small, tightly-knit team that can be outmatched by larger forces under the right conditions. Their skill and firepower are impressive, but even this elite squad can find themselves vulnerable when they face overwhelming numbers or strategically unfavourable terrain.
  • Non-Force Users: Task-Force Rebel Dawn operates under the command of Balun Dashiell, yet its members are non-Force users. While they excel in combat and strategy, they face a distinct disadvantage when pitted against opponents who can wield the Force. Without the ability to tap into that mystical power, they must rely solely on their skills, tactics, and technology, making it difficult to compete with the supernatural abilities of Force-sensitive adversaries.

CONTENT INFORMATION:

Dating as far back as Kay Larr's successful election as president of Commenor, the House Arenais Humanitarian Trust lists and provides ownership rights to the collective assets of the family's three generations' worth of hard work and ingenuity, ranging from organisations that have continued business over the years, to military vessels, weaponry and valuable force artifacts that were safely witheld from the public, family estates to an entire civilian spacestations, personal documentation and accounts of encounters with the Sith, and battlearmor once worn by Jedi Master Veiere Arenais, passed down after his death.

As the Trust was created by Caedyn Arenais to ensure that all assets, organisations and financial equity remain within the possession of the once great family, those with access to the Trust, whether listed in the original document or having gained access via familial inheritance, are entitled to full access and use of all assets under the title.

Members of the Trust:
SUMMARY:
A trust agreement is a legal document that defines the rules intended by the trustor or grantor who originally owns the properties, which shall be held in trust by the trustee for the benefit of the grantor or trustor's beneficiaries. The usual objectives of the trust are to ensure that the assets of the trustor or grantor shall be managed properly and shall not be spent thriftily by the beneficiary by appointing a trustee to manage the assets, known as a trust for the beneficiary's benefit. This also helps in avoiding probate. This is, in a general sense, a contract where it shall be the obligation of the trustee to secure the well-being of the trustor's beneficiaries upon the death of the trustor until such age where it is believed by the trustor that the beneficiaries are capable of managing their own finances. HISTORICAL INFORMATION:

House Arenais was once a powerful and respected family, aligned with the light of the Force and committed to democratic, just leadership. In the modern galaxy, however, their name has all but vanished from public memory.

Veiere Arenais fell during the war between the Silver Jedi Order and the Sith Empire. After his death, Lady Kay withdrew from political life, choosing peace over power for the remainder of her days. Their son, Caedyn Arenais, continued the family line, fathering a daughter with Asaraa Vaashe before eventually retiring and dying of old age. Loreena Arenais pursued the path of Mandalore, uncovering her mother's long-buried heritage, an aspect of the family rarely spoken of. Public records ended with Caedyn's daughter, Kristyl Arenais, who was believed to have been killed on Naboo during the era of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Knights Obsidian.

In truth, Kristyl survived. She joined the Ascendancy and vanished into the Shiraya Expanse, withdrawing to a remote corner of the galaxy where years became decades, and anonymity granted her a fragile peace. That peace ended when the Imperial Security Bureau finally located her, murdering many of the family's friends and supporters in the process.

Forced back into the wider galaxy, Kristyl was driven by grief and a renewed hunger for justice. She returned to worlds such as Commenor, reopening old wounds and rekindling House Arenais' long-standing conflict with followers of the dark side. Operating in secrecy, she hunted those within the ISB responsible for the covert killings. It was during this period that she met Judah Dashiell, an encounter marked by a single drunken night that resulted in an unplanned pregnancy. From that mistake, new life was born, carrying the blood of the once-great House Arenais into the modern age.

In the present day, Judah is much older, and his youngest son, Balun Arenais Dashiell, has learned the truth of his heritage. Kristyl remains in hiding, still pursuing vengeance against the remnants of the Empire as they scatter across the galaxy. Though mother and son are estranged, Balun seeks to reclaim his legacy as the sole inheritor of House Arenais' remaining assets, using what is rightfully his to strengthen his already thriving business and secure a future for his own son, Kellan Dashiell.

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION:

  • Intent: To create a line of Jedi Apparel for members of the Jedi Order, within The High Republic.
  • Canon Link: N/A.
  • Permissions: N/A.
  • Primary Source: Jedi during the High Republic Era.
PRODUCTION INFORMATION:
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Classification: Multipurpose.
  • Weight: Very Light.
  • Resistances:
    • Energy: Average.
    • Kinetic: Average.
    • Force: High.
    • Lightsabers: Average.
    • Elemental: Average.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
  • Alkahest Infused: The Sythncloth, Armorweave and fabrics that have been utilised within this line of Jedi Garments have been refined at the molecular level, each fibre altered and strengthened through the infusion of the Light Side of the Force. As a result, these Jedi robes are both remarkably lightweight and exceptionally resilient, allowing the wearer to move with fluid precision and ease while maintaining a stronger-than-average connection to the Force.
STRENGTHS:
  • High Mobility & Flexibility: Designed with anticipated field service and the likelihood of conflict in mind, these robes move seamlessly with the body, without stiffness or drag, allowing for precise, fluid motion in both offence and defence.
  • Symbolic Presence: The gold standard: white and gold with subtle ornamentation, representing authority, peace, and hope. These robes emphasise the Jedi's role not just as warriors but as stewards of the light, symbols of peace, order, and of the High Republic.
  • Force Conduction & Amplification: Infused with the Light Side, the material subtly enhances the wearer's connection to the Force, improving clarity, flow, and responsiveness. Jedi will find greater ease in using their abilities and a consistent presence of the Light wherever their path leads them.
WEAKNESSES:
  • Limited Protection: While the apparel can resist minor kinetic force, it won't fully protect against blunt-force trauma, heavy munitions and ordnance, and serious injuries. The Order does not recommend being hit by a landspeeder whilst sporting this attire.
  • Limited Energy-based Resistance: While it can withstand glancing shots or low-energy impacts, direct or repeated weapons fire will still penetrate through the lighter material. The Armorweave may provide some protection to vitals, but only for so long.
  • Extreme Environments: Extreme conditions such as space, deep-ocean pressure, and toxic atmospheres still require additional protective gear, specifically headgear. The Jedi attire is not worn for a vacuum seal, as with a bodyglove, but is meant as general-purpose apparel in service to the Order.
DESCRIPTION:

Gloves: Crafted for both function and resilience, these gloves are fashioned from supple leather or reinforced armorweave, offering a balance between dexterity and protection. They come in a range of designs: from full-hand coverage to fingerless variants that allow for greater tactile precision. For those expecting conflict, gauntlet-style configurations extend beyond the wrist, shielding vital joints and providing added defence in combat.

Cloak / Robe: Draped over the tunic and tabards, the cloak serves as both a practical and ceremonial garment. It offers warmth against harsh climates while lending an air of presence and tradition. Flowing fabrics fall in elegant lines, available in hues of white, gold, yellow, brown, tan, and grey; each colour carries its own quiet symbolism.

Tunic: The tunic stands as the centrepiece of the attire, its design deeply personal to the wearer. Intricate patterns are often woven or stitched into the fabric, subtle yet meaningful. A clean white base is accented with refined gold or yellow trim, while tabards, varying in length and cut, add layers of individuality and movement to the overall silhouette.

Utility Belt: Worn at the waist, the standard Jedi utility belt is a quiet constant, unassuming, yet essential. Designed to carry tools, devices, and mission-critical items, it ensures the wearer is always prepared, whether navigating diplomacy or danger.

Pants: Made from durable Synthcloth, these full-length trousers are tailored for comfort without sacrificing practicality. Available in white, brown, or tan, they allow for ease of movement while maintaining a clean, cohesive aesthetic with the rest of the ensemble.

Boots: Built to endure the harshest terrains, these hardy leather boots are as reliable as they are rugged. Typically finished in brown or black, they provide stability, protection, and longevity, ready to carry their wearer across battlefields, starship decks, and distant worlds alike.

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION:

PRODUCTION INFORMATION:
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Classification: Lightsaber.
  • Size: Large.
  • Weight: Average.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
  • Focus Crystal: Integrated within Balun's lightsaber, the focus crystal helps him remain closely attuned to the Force, especially during moments of heightened exertion.
  • Crossguard Emmiter: This emitter configuration generates lateral blades at the hilt, shielding the user's hands while expanding defensive options. It enables more controlled engagements against other lightsaber wielders, offering additional angles for parries, binds, and close-quarters counters.
  • Bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse: This mechanism allows the lightsaber to ignite and function even while fully submerged, maintaining a stable blade in aquatic environments while safeguarding the weapon's internal components from water damage.
STRENGTHS:
  • Crossguard Lightsaber: Engineered with lightsaber-on-lightsaber combat in mind, the crossguard variant enhances a wielder's defensive options. Its lateral vents can be used to catch or control an opponent's blade, allowing the user to drive into a saber lock or slide along the enemy's weapon toward the hilt, creating an opportunity to disarm or overpower them in close-quarters combat.
  • Extended Chassis: The hilt has been deliberately lengthened beyond standard dimensions to support a secure two-handed grip. This extended design allows the wielder to generate greater leverage and control, channelling more force into each strike and fully committing to power-driven forms of lightsaber combat such as Djem So.
WEAKNESSES:
  • Self-Imposed Risk: Wielding a crossguard lightsaber demands a different level of skill and technique compared to a standard blade. The presence of lateral vents introduces a constant risk of self-inflicted injury if not handled with precision and awareness. As a result, its use can sometimes become telegraphed or predictable, and in confined spaces, the weapon may pose as much danger to the wielder as it does to their opponent.
  • Weight and Handling: Larger and heavier than Balun's previous lightsaber, the crossguard design demands greater strength to wield effectively. Its added mass carries more momentum through each strike, but that same weight makes rapid, agile forms such as Ataru or Jar'Kai significantly harder to execute with precision.
DESCRIPTION:

Balun Dashiell's elevation to Jedi Knight came without warning, catching him off guard at a time that should have been devoted to the recovery of a fellow member of the Order. He questioned the timing, even the decision itself, but his Master did not. She had always been guided with unwavering clarity by the Force, never once misreading its will. Trusting in her judgment, Balun set aside his doubts. Humbled, he accepted the Grandmaster's offer and stepped into the mantle of Knighthood.

Where others might have felt pride, Balun felt something heavier settle in its place: responsibility. A quiet, insistent pressure to do better. To be better. As an apprentice, he had not always embodied the discipline expected of him. His faith in the light had never wavered, but his commitment to listening, to truly hearing the Force, had often taken a back seat to instinct. He acted on what felt right rather than what the Force might have revealed through patience and reflection. That approach could no longer suffice. Now, he carried not only his own path, but the guidance of an apprentice, and the expectations of the Order itself. He needed space to think. To recalibrate. To become intentional. And so, as he always had in moments of uncertainty, Balun turned to creation.

The crossguard lightsaber became his focus, a project not just of engineering, but of meaning. Crafting it gave him the time to reflect, to plan, to anchor himself in purpose. Technology had long been one of his passions; his work with Dashiell Retrofit™ spoke to that, but this was different. This weapon would mark a turning point in his life: the end of his apprenticeship, the beginning of something greater, and a constant reminder that growth did not end with promotion. If anything, it had only just begun.

His recent encounters with the Sith had shaped his design choices. While he was well-versed in Soresu, adept at defence, precognition, and blaster deflection, facing another Force wielder in direct sabre combat demanded a different kind of readiness. Those encounters were unforgiving. Final. To meet that challenge, Balun chose the crossguard configuration, a design rooted in control and dominance in blade-to-blade combat. He reinforced the lateral vents with phrik casing, ensuring the emitter could withstand the punishing stress of direct contact with another lightsaber. The hilt itself he extended, allowing for a stronger, two-handed grip, one that would let him meet power with power when needed.

At the core, he installed a focus crystal, hoping it would help steady his connection to the Force amid the chaos of battle, keeping him centred when it mattered most. In the end, the weapon was more than a tool. It was a symbol. Not of mastery, but of commitment to growth, to discipline, and to the path he had only just begun to walk as a Jedi Knight.
