PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Overwhelming amount of power: Just as the predecessor, the R.I.A.R. or Repulsor Ion Arc Reactor, this reactor model is capable of producing an overwhelming amount of energy safely and more rapidly than most comparable reactors in its class.
  • Efficient systems: As there is only the need for fuel at the very production of the reactor itself, the need for constant refueling or renewing of fuel is a thing of the past. Thanks to an electromagnetic generator, heat and electromagnetic field remains can be stored within a seperate module, only to use it as the start up energy for the reactor when it needs to work again, allowing for the arc reactor to refuse the internal plasma fuel and yet again use the massive amounts of heat created by this process to provide near unlimited power.
  • Design flaws ammended: The built up fumes of the fusion within the reactor are sent through a system of tubes leading to the engines, allowing for a safe incineration of the gasses, which may also act as a prospective fuel for the afterburners through built up pressure. Additional exhausts also lead to the engine pods to allow for any additional gasses to be dispersed and safely burned should there be any need to do so, such as occassions wherein the reactor(s) are required to work at full capacity for longer durations of time.
STRENGTHS
  • Compact: Unlike the predecessor, this reactor is much more compact and efficient, allowing for better spacing when installed on a variety of ships going from luxury yachts to large warships.
  • Theoretically unlimited power: In theory this reactor is capable of powering an entire battle cruiser of enormous length and all its internal systems with relative ease, though even the company's own engineers advise that in case of using it on massive warships, the safest choice would be coupling two of these together for general safety and longevity.
  • Safe both internally and externally: The F.A.R. has a construction with a lot of nods to its predecessor, with many a safety precaution built in, in terms of radiation cancelling plating, heat resistant plating for conversion and condensation, allowing for the absolute minimum of unexpected discrepancies to ever even occur. However, one must realize this safety only counts in regards to when it is undamaged.
WEAKNESSES
  • ION and EMP: Though it does have a proper protective casing for heat on both in and outside, not to mention it's own electromagnetic field, a sufficiently strong EMP or Ion blast directly or near the reactor may cause insuffiiciencies, malfunctions and in worst case scenario: a shut down. In ships with a droid core this would be less of an issue, as it can be rebooted fairly easily, but for people do do it manually, repairs and rebooting can cost precious time and somethimes range from anything between ten minutes and ten hours: not ideal in combat.
  • HEAT: Though it is very well protected and durable, should anything breach through the defenses of the reactor that isn't of an ethereal or particle nature such as EMP or ION, this could have catastrophic results, as the heat generated within the reactor may escape violently or the electromagnetic field may get disturbed to such a point that it may cause an implosion and contemporary explosion. Both not exactly the most desired results in combat...but nonetheless effective to whipe out more the just a single ship.
  • Extremely Hazardous: Due to not only the Infinium 01458 core, but also the fusion of said material within the aforementioned core, this reactor is extremely poisonous and repairs will have the risk of being poisoned when done by the inexperienced. Damaging of this reactor may also result in a dispersement of the extremely poisonous material throughout the ship and beyond.
DESCRIPTION
For months and years no, the majority of ships built by Nargath holdings and by extension the N&Z umbrella corporation were powered by the older repulsor ion arc reactor, but as times change and technology rapidly progresses, teams of engineers, designers, electronical scientists and molecular physicists were set onto the task of creating a suitable successor, which could provide to be more compact without losing the selling point of the original RIAR: the immense power output.

After lost and lots of toiling, it was chosen to improve the design significantly, the design incorporating a chamber which would hold Infinium 01458, superheated by superconducting magnetic coils, using the principle of heating through magnetism and induction to turn the liquid metal into a plasma state, thus temporarily fusing the bonded contents of the alloy into an unknown combined substance. The heat and electromagnetic power thus in turn generated by this process far exceeds the imput by a number close to ten to the tenth degree, resulting in a massive flow of electromagnetic and heat energy being conducted through electrum wiring to an electromagnetic generator which would then convert and distribute the energy all around the ship or vessel it was placed in.

Built to a higher specification, while being mass produced and more compact, means sadly the FAR has a few more drawbacks than the original, but those pertain mostly to combat related activities, thus showing that outside of combat, this reactor is unmatched and only barely matched in combat itself.

This is honestly not something I am fond of. However, with some edits, I feel like this would be passable.

First, you have neglected to mention how poisonous the core is. Due to this acting much akin to a Radioactive Reactor, having something poisonous burning inside a core with, as much heat as you proclaim, would make the surrounding air non-breathable. Meaning this reactor would have to be isolated from the rest of the ship. If you burn something, that exhaust has to go somewhere. It cannot just stay in one place and build pressure. Which would require the ship needs to be built with this reactor in mind. Even if you have Radiation preventative measures, It doesn't prevent stench.

Should systems fail, not only would you have heat problems, but it would be leaking poisonous fumes into the ship.

I am also going to ask for more clarification on the sizes in which this reactor can be house on a vessel. You mention "Enormous" Sizes, but then also mention luxury smaller vessels. This range is way too vague, and pretty much includes any ship that is 100 meters, to 10,000 meters.

Finally, there is only so much power that you can use. While everything is "In Theory" realistically, there is only so much energy that can be pulled at once. You could have a Generator the size of a city, but if you have it pulling enough energy for way more than it should, The system has failures. When in an Electrical system, it just shuts off because too much was being pulled. However, in a Core of a Reactor like this, using poisonous materials, is going to be more akin to a massive Implosion/Explosion.

Vora Kaar Vora Kaar this is actually fun, you gave me a few ideas on further evolutions for the future, as well as possible creations that can come from these generators. I made a few changes to the modularity and special features which I hope accomodate a few of the issues you described. As for the theoretical unlimited energy, let's just look at it as more or less somewhat of a flair object, given normally hyperdrive systems and several other stuff already have an internal reactor (srs, it makes you wonder just how dangerous the destruction of a single spaceship could be xD), this is in the end more of an emergency gimmick with risks I reckon.

Also, should there be anything else, do not hesitate to voice your opinion, this IS an enjoyable learning experience after all.
