OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a starship for the Jedi Order that will serve as a mobile establishment of training for the reformed Jedi. This vessel is to exhibit the pacifist nature of the Order, carrying only defensive shielding and stealth drives, neglecting the installation of offensive weaponry. This mobile Academy will provide Jedi Characters the isolation for future development minimizing the risks as opposed to being found upon a stationary world and therefore invaded.

  • Transparisteel Domed Classrooms (Simulating roofless learning environments).
  • Arboretum deck and Force-Sensitive Tree
Strengths:
  • Stealth cloaking field - For the evasion of hostile vessels and potential threats, the Jedi Flotilla has been equipped with a cloaking field in order to remain an anonymity among the stars and scope of space.
  • Advanced defensive shielding - should the Cloak fail, the Flotilla will not be left open to weapons fire. With the lack of offensive systems and capabilities, the shielding emitters have been given priority, boosting power to the deflector array.
  • Automated countermeasures - in the event of being locked into and fired at by tracking ordinance, the flares that hare propelled into space behind the vessel leave a heat-signature meant to disable the projectiles sensor abilities and thus exploding pre-maturely leaving the vessel unscathed.
  • State of the art educational facilities - Due to the financial aid of the world of Commenor, the Jedi Order has been graced with the generously high tech learning facilities fit for the training and comfort of the Jedi while stationed upon the mobile Academy for extensive journeys.
  • Medical, research and development stations as well as Engineering facilities - providing care for technological and extra-curricular activities as well as the interest of hospital care between missions and assignments across various systems.
Weaknesses:
  • Zero offensive capabilities - In representing the heart of organization across the Jedi Order, the vessel was designed to intentionally neglect the installation of any military armaments. As it is not in the nature of the Jedi to bring conflict nor harm upon others, the same ideologies that they hope to portray across the galaxy being applied in how their new bastion of light and learning within the moving galaxy.
  • Slow moving - Due to the size and weight of the vessel the momentum required to carry her throughout space is much slower in pace compared to smaller vessels. Maneuverability is increased and lesser propulsion yet the vessels only true method of a successful evasion would likely be relying upon FTL flight as opposed to out running other ships in open space.
  • Civilian Class Vessel - In other words this vessel is not fit for war by any means. Both the lack of weapons systems coupled with the skeleton crew of non-Jedi or military personnel that have either volunteered or been recruited from worlds throughout the CSA's territory leave much to be desired should they be engaged by offending parties.
Description:

L3V3os1.jpg

The name of the vessel "Yutan's Legacy" has been suggested as a way of honoring the past history of the Order since the establishment of the Temple there as well as the Galactic Republic's original vision of peace and democratic leadership within the Galaxy. Under this vision, hundreds of Jedi Knights and Masters stood as the beacon of integrity and light amidst a society which heralded an age of darkness, the coming of power in the One Sith Empire.

Financed by the King and Queen of Commenor, the world of trade and capital of the Commenor Systems Alliance, Veiere and his wife Kay Arenais commissioned the Gyndine shipyards responsible for the manufacturing of their previous major naval vessels, to start on with this new project utilizing the basis of Corellian design in what was to become the new home of the Jedi Order at the behest of the Yutani Government harboring nothing but the want to distance themselves from dealing with the new movement.

Bolstering a rather significant passenger capacity of 10,000 on top of the skeleton crew of 1000, the Yutan's Legacy has been deprived of all military armaments and functions to instead be retrofitted with storage and living facilities, housing the needs fit for a five year long venture before needing to dock once more. The cargo hold of the Legacy can store up to 50,000 tonnes ranging from consumable supplies to maintenance and engineering equipment for the consistency of the vessels management.

Negating the use of offensive weaponry, the Legacy's Capacitor Banks and Overcharger provide consistent power distribution throughout all systems maintaining an optimal level of efficiency across the vessel. As such, the Cloaking Device that's used to conceal the vessel from outsiders is able to be operated with minimal deterrence to the rest of the Mobile Praxeum's system requirements. Designed to keep the Jedi aboard, safe from any unwanted attention.

Upon the bridge, the external sensor array is handled by the communications officers capable of collecting a readout of the surrounding sector of space providing visually enhanced imaging (Bio, electromagnetic, infrared, ultraviolet, optical zoom). Communications of all incoming and outbound interactions with the vessel are heavily encrypted in the hopes of avoiding a case where potentially sensitive information might become compromised.

Bringing us to the environment in which the Jedi Order will live aboard and train day in and day out. Due to the stresses of prolonged exposure to space flight, Commenor has included the use of Holographic display emitters across the main decks for the means of training within simulated environments to aid in the mental relief and the illusion of life at home within the Yutan Temple among many other programmable settings and environmental themes. Though not changing the shape nor layout in any means of the vessel itself, this will arrange the textures of the walls, doors and general area's to simulate a far closer depiction of the typical environments Jedi are housed within (Jedi Temples, Praxeum's or Academies for example).

The Arboretum deck is a place of peace in mind and body to the Jedi Order, a place of meditation within the lightside Force-Sensitive Tree that has been moved there from the world of Yutan's natural environment outside of the old Jedi Temple. Seeking to offer the Jedi a place of natural life and expression of the Force in it's most purest form, this vast open deck as been transformed into an indoor garden of peaceful reflection. The Force Presence here centering within the arboretum meaning little to those outside of Force Users yet enabling the Jedi to find their calm of mind as they explore the many mysteries of the force enveloped within the light-side aura that spans much of the vessel by result.

Multiple Arena's, grand halls and dojo's as well as other miscellaneous training rooms have been laid out across the surrounding decks for the use of the Jedi Order, these area's are rarely visited by the vessels flight crew who are instead based within the center of the craft as well as the engineering decks, security and comm's management and finally the bridge and primary command center. While the size and scale of the vessel is quite incredible from the outside, within it becomes blatantly apparent that it is no ordinary vessel and provides a unique blend between the use of technology while at the same time not steering away from the Order's want to remain humble in it's materialism and otherwise luxurious means.

Medical, research and development stations have been provided for those of technological minds, Jedi that seek to develop their skills outside of the primary form of training will be often encouraged to make use of these stations during the long duration of travel from port to port. There they can explore the creation of new forms of technologies, tools to further serve the Order as they look to serve the galaxy at large. Medical has been set up with the best of equipment accompanied by a set of droids of which will be placed under the guise of a Jedi Knight and experienced healer to cater for any training injuries or off world concerns while science and research will explore the viability of worlds traveled to and cultures/peoples likely to be encountered

Finally, the general make of the vessels frame and outer-hull is compromised of a combination of metals to protect the interests of all on board. surrounding the corridors and supporting the multiple decks and overall stability of the vessels interior is Titanium to which is then dwarfed by the Durasteel body and reinforced Quadanium Steel plating for higher defensive build up around all high priority sections (Crew quarters, the Bridge, engineering, environmental etc).

What kind of cloaking device does this ship have?

Stygium-based cloaking devices are what are more 'common' media-wise, as in it has been shown/written about more, but this also requires a restricted mission thread.

Hibridium-based cloaking devices are not as good as stygium, as they blind the ship using it from see what's going on outside, but it is a cheaper alternative.

Good catch actually, the Dev Thread had slipped my mind entirely.

As I would prefer the Cloak be Stygium-based, we will follow through with a development thread.

Go ahead and start one up real quick; no rush.

There's no post count requirement as long as it's a complete story! :)

Thank you!

It would appear I had tagged the right person in my request after all, I wasn't certain.

That should be everything we need for now, edits have been made :)

As far as I can tell, none of the development threads linked complete either objective for stygium:

Stygium Crystal (( Objective : Perform a mining operation, a raid, an excavation, or steal to obtain stygium crystals from any of the following planets: Aeten II, Maramere, Kelsier, Enigma Prime, Kazahana Asteroid Field –OR— kill a player character account who has more than 500 posts and get them to verify it.))
Unless I've missed any relevant posts, you can either complete an objective or use a different cloaking device (such as Hibridium as suggested above). @Mention me with edits or questions.

Moving a Force nexus into a starship is not possible. You can add in meditation rooms and such that enhance connections to focus and meditation-related powers, but a nexus itself won't fly.

Edit that and I think we're good to go, nice work.

Quote from: The Jedi Temple of Yutan

With each and every corner of the garden neatly cared for its center truly holds one spectacular site, a tree imbued with a strong light side presence of the force. Here force sensitive often start their journey to re-connect with their inner calm and tranquility when arriving to the temple before continuing further inside.
If the source of a Force Nexus is moved from one place to another, I might concede that it'd be relatively weakened for a time but having moved the tree itself that was imbued with the Force by one of my members In-character ([member="Alexandra Feanor"]), I do believe the Nexus itself would be moved. The Arboretum deck mentioned in the original post is basically one massive indoor garden where life will grow and be cared for by the Jedi aboard the vessel.

Could you please explain to me why you believe this is not acceptable?

Edit:
Just to clarify, would this be for OOC/SITE reasons or In-Character Reasons. If this is crossing OOC rules somehow then by all means do let me know.

In-Character however, in my opinion, it would fly.

The sub for the temple you're referencing does not mention a Force nexus anywhere: it mentions a tree imbued with the light side (like this one) which is fine to put in the sub but is not the same as a nexus.

If you're happy to have the tree as linked, edit that and you should be set.
