Traveling was very expensive, it turns out. Chi'no had gotten used to how much she traveled working her last flight attendant job, but ever since getting laid off she found herself struggling to get from place to place. She needed to get herself somewhere she could work and make a decent earning so she could replace everything she lost when the Galactic Empire took Sacorria. Not that she really owned much in her run down apartment, but it was a nice place to have to go back to. Naboo was her best bet for work, she thought. So many tourists that some random restaurant would surely be looking for more staff.

At the moment she was sat in a small bar on Toshara, her eyes glued to her datapad as she scrolled through inexpensive options for travel that would take her the rest of the way there. It was a bit mind numbing, so much so that she could feel her eyes beginning to glaze over. With each new travel offering she saw, Chi'no felt her wallet become thinner and thinner. How was she supposed to get anywhere? At this point she should start considering selling a few of her things to cover the cost...

While her attention was taken by her fruitless efforts to find a ride off-world, the bar around her shifted with new-found life.

Following a change in administration following the rise of the Sith Covenant in the Core, Sacorria's University for the Arts had been the subject of a corporate takeover. They recalculated student loan interest to be much higher rates, going back to calculate what those loans would be worth if they had always had those high rates. With a justification to themselves for an economic crisis they invented within their own institution, the University began to put bounties on Alumni with outstanding loans in order to quickly amass themselves a force of debtors, fully intent to use labor as repayment. One such BOUNTY was on an art student who had graduated two years ago. Chi'no, unaware of the sudden change in the demeanor of her old University, carried on like it was an ordinary day.

There was, however, a catch to any perusing the bounty. The University made it clear that they would only pay one bounty-hunter for a job well done, and they had no intention on specifying which hunter had the privilege of taking the job for themselves. Collecting would be a free-for-all, with the target required to be taken in alive. With only one individual able to walk away with the credits, the threat of the operation was clear; the civilian target was harmless. The real trouble came from a hunter's competitors.

None had yet made a move. The air was still with anticipation.

OOC: Hello. This is a really stupid idea I had for a dumb public thread. Basically a pvp free for all over the dumbest bounty I can think of. Only one person can get paid, so good luck lol. Also this thread may be a bounty, but it's open for folks to join and ramp up the chaos a bit. I wanna have fun with this one. Thank you all in advance.

Ahh Toshara, a windy hole of a planet at the bottom end of High Republic space. About summed it up in Kivah's opinion. With only one major settlement and a scattering of homesteads and criminal outposts, the amazonian cat lady didn't have to work too hard to figure out her target would be at the planet's singular and small spaceport. Tracking her that far had been child's play for Kivah, a youth of jungle hunting and tracking shaped by ill-spent years of mercenary shadow work and ramped up by the Force and Sith teachings was a bit much when pitted against an art student that didn't know she was being tracked or even had a bounty. Kivah's selected bounty hunting kit was likewise a bit much.

Her form fitting, shape-shifting biosuit with military style jacket was pretty much every day wear for her. And it was rare to see her without her eye protecting, vision enhancing, goggles. But in addition to her paired lightsabers, she'd added a long sword over one shoulder, hanging opposite a rifle that shot bullets thicker than most people's finger, naturally it had a small shotgun attached under the barrel. Strapped against the outside of each boot was also a pair of her favorite auto blasters, inexpensive pistols capable of filling the air with blaster bolts. Finally, wrapping her body from shoulders to knees were the straps of gear webbing, holding reloads for the ballistics and blasters along with smoke grenades and other various bits of equipment.

The dock master had pointed her in the direction of a bar as a likely place to find someone, and seeing as the city's... town's main thoroughfare led her straight to the front door, Kivah obliged. Upon entering, Kivah was certain she'd found what would likely be her favorite place on the planet. There wasn't much beyond the booze to recommend it, but she found the smooth curves of the stone walls reassuring in a bunker-like fashion. It was as her green eyes were sweeping across the bar's flowing lines, taking in the lay-out and checking out who was who in the local pecking order, that she spotted the blue Twi. Grinning, she started to head over, this really was too easy.

Ambling her way up to the bar, Kivah took a seat next to Chi'no and ordered a beer as she side-eyed her target. "Rough day?" She asked in a low drawl. A part of her wondered if she could somehow convince this woman to go with her without even drawing a weapon at all.

Braze had taken up an odd bounty, though he carried reasons of his own for seeing it through. He tracked the young woman to the establishment, pausing just inside the door to glance down at the bounty puck in his hand. Two small droids accompanied him; one nestled within the hood of his cloak, the other perched upon his shoulder as he made his way over. The little blue photoreceptors peered down at Kivah Kivah .

" Miss, Chi'no Su I presume? You've a bounty out for your arrest. I have come to claim it. "

"Rough day?"

"Huh?!"

Chi'no squeaked when she was addressed, a bit to absorbed in her search. She fumbled her data pad in her hands before she got it secure and let out an exhale, trying to calm her nerves. It was just a conversation was all it was. After a moment she offered a response to the Cathar stranger.

"I guess..." she admitted. "But it's probably not a big deal in the grand scheme of things."

It was about then that she heard speaking behind her.

" Miss, Chi'no Su I presume? You've a bounty out for your arrest. I have come to claim it. "

Chi'no looked back in a daze, almost like she didn't believe what she heard. She wasn't a criminal, or anyone important for that matter, but that was her photo. Right there being projected by the puck the other stranger had. It started slowly at first. Increasingly labored breath, sweat gathering on her brow, hands beginning to shake. She had definitely had nightmares like this, really stupid ones where she had been framed for murder or something and then couldn't sleep for like a day afterwards. What was she supposed to do? Run? Plead? Comply and hope she didn't die?

Finally, action was made. Chi'no went to move...

And promptly passed out from stress, slumping over onto the floor in an undignified manner.

Kivah had turned at Braze's intrusion, just barely taking in the walking armory that was the boy coated with weapons and explosives as he started talking. Another hunter after the bounty, she bristled, ears laying back as she started thinking of ways this could be used to her advantage. She was looking back at the Twi'lek when she fainted, just burbled something and began to collapse. Quick as a flash, Kivah had her arm under the girl, holding her limp body upright as she looked back at the masked and robed bounty hunter, suddenly knowing what to do. Pointing at him with her other hand, she yelled out, "He just fracking killed her!"

She hoped that the bar would erupt into righteous violence, of beings trying to gun him down in retaliation, but just in case she reached out with the Force, pulling the front of his cloak and poncho up over his head in the hopes it'd distract him while she jumped backwards and rolled over the bar, dragging the limp Chi'no with her. Ready to push anything or anyone away that may come sailing over the bar, Kivah pulled her goggles down to protect her sensitive eyes even as her biosuit folded itself over her head, sealing away her face and head in its protective embrace.

Then she was back up, Z-14 auto blaster in one hand as she drew the sword Lua with her off hand over her shoulder. Rising from behind the counter, one foot firmly on Chi'no's prone form to keep possession of the girl, Kivah was already hosing down the area she'd last seen her competition in before dragging her aim fully onto target.

"What the hell?" Braze squeaked as the cat woman assaulted him so unceremoniously.

Sharp voices rose with alarm as chairs ground against the floor as bodies jerked back or reached for blasters on instinct. Braze scarcely had time to turn before his poncho was yanked up across his vision, cloth dragged over his head and face in a tangle that stole the room from him in a smear of shadowed darkness.

He stumbled back a step from the sheer inconvenience of it; one hand snapped up clawing the cloth inelegantly back down as the bar erupted into motion. By then, his opposition was already moving with the girl.

He heard Kivah Kivah roll over the counter, the drag of Chi'no Su Chi'no Su 's dead weight, and the sudden shift in the room as patrons dove for cover and lines were redrawn in a handful of taut, tense seconds.

Then the blaster fire came flooding his way in a violent volley of fiery death. Braze's small figure moved in a blur of terrifying speed.

The Force rushed through his limbs in one sharp surge, as precognition flaring just enough to let him slip past the bolts where they were about to be rather than where they were. He twisted hard to one side, ducking and shifting with impossible nearness as red light screamed past him close enough to sear. One bolt grazed across a gauntlet and left its metal blackened and smoking with carbon scoring; a few others punched a set of neat holes through his favorite cloak. The darkened fabric and fur curling at the edges with the smell of burnt cloth. A third set scorched past so near he felt the heat kiss across his skin as he dropped low and lashed a hand toward the nearest table, sending it skidding and pitching up into the path of the volley as a desperate makeshift shield.

"She fainted!" he snapped back over the chaos, though whether anyone believed him was another matter entirely.

And there she was when he finally cleared the last of the cloth from his face: His opponent was sitting pretty behind the bar, weapon in hand, blade drawn, boot planted on the girl like a claim staked in durasteel.

Now his mission shifted to a retrieval with a room full of frightened idiots and one very live and obstinate obstacle standing between him and the prize.

"I'm going to give you one chance… and one chance only… to surrender nicely and say you're sorry for ruining my favorite cloak!" Braze called out.

Chi'no, limp and unresponsive, would offer very little resistance to the Kathar as she was laid down and held securely under the boot of the Hunter that sought to claim her bounty. The establishment was quick to explode into chaos, filled with more rivals than would be expected. It seemed many more were seeking the bounty on the young woman.

One such rival made itself known to Kivah. The ballistic roar of a Repulsor Cannon rang out, the blast aiming to hit her dead on and blow her away from tge target. There was someone small behind the counter that she hadn't taken account for, a Jawa looking to score good credit. And he wasn't alone either, as a horde of ten or so jawa's poured in through the windows and began to fire their repulsor weaponry wildly into the bar. Bodies and tables were thrown about in chaotic fashion. At there center was a tall fellow in a trench coat that looked particularly unstable, a large brim hat on his head and duel wielding Repulsor Cannons. To any who looked closer, it was clearly just two Jawas in a trench coat, who served as some kind of ring leader for the collective. This was clearly the work of the enigmatic bounty hunter that went by "Hive."

As the bar erupted into even more chaos, three Jawas would move to grav hold of Chi'no. If successful, they would attempt to scurry off into the backroom of the cantina.

"Noooo! I love her, you assassin!" Kivah cried out at the man's (boy's?), assertions. Trying not to laugh as she hammed it up, Kivah felt her tail go stiff and she whipped around just in time for a repulsor cannon toting Jawa to blast her square in the chest as her blaster came around, sending her own shot wide. The Jawa's repulsor beam threw her back into the shelf behind the bar and smashing a bottle or two of liquor. Snarling under the Udyr's helmet, Kivah swung her arm around and emptied the last of the auto blaster's charge into the group of Jawas making a run on her position even as the one with the beam kept her pinned up to the wall. She could feel the edge of every shelf pressing into her back and the broken glass grinding against her jacket, but her implants and armor had protected her from the worst of them and the impact.

Shoving the now-empty blaster into the gription clips her gear webbing, her green eyes settles on the one keeping her pinned. Reaching out, she yanked him to her through the Force as she stabbed out, running him through before pulling his now lifeless body off her sword and tossing it aside. "Filthy sand-rats." she muttered to herself, swinging on another as he tried to dive on her bounty.

Ducking back under the bar's counter, she reloaded her blaster where it hung, swapped her sword over to her right hand, and slung Chi'no up over her shoulder, holding her there with an arm wrapped around her. "Still, time to go." With the bar in full chaos from the Jawas and patrons, and Kivah wanting to avoid that other bounty hunter that could dodge through a hail of blaster shots (not that she blamed him, she'd done it before and knew it was cool), the Cathar went the other way. Leaping onto the far side of the circular bar-top from all the other hunters coming in, she was dashing off for the back rooms with a flick of her tail where she was fairly confident she'd find a delivery or employee's entrance to escape through. Or she could make her own.

Braze stood, drawing his chalcedony-teal blade in a bright arch as he began to deflect the smaller shots sent his way.

"Gidgit, get them on her. Subdual, please." he said to the small droid on his shoulder, who relayed positioning data to the three spherical droids outside.

B.L.A.S.T.A. , C.A.T.C.H. , and S.P.A.R.K. moved to the rear of the establishment in preparation. He leaped over the bar darting after her.

The band of Jawas hardly seemed to register the death of one of their own. Apparently it was a common occurrence for them. With little care for the individual they had just lost, their posse moved to run after the Sith as she carried off the target. For good measure, they continued to fire off their weapons, though they were hardly coordinated enough to land any of their shots remotely near their opponent. Even with the droids moving to secure the perimeter, however the employee backrooms of the establishment were not a clear path. Others were already present there, having hoped to use them as an entrance.

Two Gen'Dai were stood in the employee lounge, futzing around with comedically undersized aprons and paper hats. The Gen'Dai brothers Huk and Thork were bounty hunters of little renowned. One would assume that a near unkillable species would make for good talent, but the two failed to do anything notable on account of their sheer incompetence. Or at least, that is what those who have hired their services would lead one to believe.

Huk, the taller of the two, threw his apron and hat on the floor in rage.

"Stupid human proportions!" he howled in rage. "We should reduce this establishment to atoms!"

Thork, the more squat of the two, was quick to deck his brother over the head an let out a snarl.

"Moron," Thork barked in response. "We need the worm-headed thing alive or we don't get paid! Infiltration will be effective."

"Fethface..." Huk muttered back. "The hell is with this place anyways? It's loud as chit..."

"All bars sound like that," the shorter brother insisted. "It must be the in-wall bass speakers. Irritating contraptions... Come on. Let's just get the hell in there and try to blend in. This should be an easy job."

The two would walk in unison down the hall and opened the door of the employee backroom that exited to the bar. It was much shorter than their height, and clearly not wide enough for the both of them, but they hardly thought about that when they saw the chaos that lie on the other side. Both crouched down to get a better view.

"What the hell is this!?" Huk exclaimed before, only to get decked in the head by his brother again.

"Shut up!" Thork snapped, pointing at the Kathar. "That's our fethin' target! Pincer attack!"

With their paycheck on the line, the two brothers locked in and dove together, arms outstretched ahead of them as they attempted to leap through the doorway and tackle the Sith. The two promptly collided heads with one-another and collapsed in a pile on the floor, framed perfectly by the opening.

Gosh darn it, it didn't seem like any of these blokes were part of the Guild, at least that was what Gidgit had informed him as he moved to leap over the bar.

"Hey, kitty-cat, how are you planning on turning that acquisition in if you ain't part of the Guild?"

Filthy, opportunistic, bottom-of-the-barrel bilge rats were what he was surrounded with; the whole lot of them probably couldn't cut it with the professionals and had only taken the job out of pure desperation in hopes of joining the guild. Guild members went after the most dangerous criminals and killers when others fell short or failed. He'd gotten this assignment from a Guild contractor, and he couldn't turn it down.

Members of the Guild weren't supposed to kill innocents and shrug it off as an accident. They were supposed to prevent further collateral damage, not cause more of it.

"Why don't you side with me, and we'll split the bounty, hmmn?"

Precognition tugged sharp through him. He leaned right just as a blaster bolt snapped past where his head had been, heat kissing the air beside his cheek as he kept moving.

Droids buzzed in from outside the bar, swooping towards her on their repulsorlifts. One of them shot at her with a stun gun as the others angled in. Her jacket took the hit, sending a tingling wave of energy spidering across the side of her back not covered by Twi'lek. Gritting her teeth behind her helmet, Kivah spun, sword in one hand and slung Twi'lek legs in the other. Gesturing with her hand holding the sword, she swept the droids into one another like a bit in a comedy skit.

She made it another two steps towards the employee area, Jawas swarming the floor around her like toddlers at a youngling convention and bounty hunter practically on her tail, when the door burst open and two huge aliens came through. Her green eyes widened at the sight as Kivah adjusted to jerk away as they spotted her and called out. That hesitation had been enough, and the two smashed into each other, both falling in the doorway.

"Hey, kitty-cat, how are you planning on turning that acquisition in if you ain't part of the Guild?" The other guy chasing her called out, offering to split the bounty with her. She jumped the bungling Gen'Dai setting aside her disappointment that she wouldn't be matching herself against the two hulks, not when she had a bounty to extract. Speaking of...

"Why give you half when I can just drop her on the Dean's desk and just demand my money?" She shouted back. Sure, someone might try to cheat her or claim fees or whatever, but she had ways of making someone rethink their decisions.

"Bounty hunting doesn't work that way, kitten!" Braze called, bright with breathless irritation as he bounded up and over the mess between them. He kept after Kivah, but his attention snapped toward the bodies crowding the corridor, one hand scattering small goo-filled charges in a quick, vicious arc toward the hunters reaching for Chi'no, each bomb aimed to burst across their boots, weapons, and grasping fingers before they could close the distance.

Braze slipped into place behind her, guarding the path at her back as his chalcedony-colored blade came alive in a pale rush of light. Blaster fire cracked through the corridor, and he answered with sharp turns of his wrist, casting each bolt aside while Kivah pushed ahead with their prize.

With the Gen'Dai Brothers down, they were little issue to leap over. It was about then that Chi'no woke up, a bit dazed for a moment. It didn't take long before she realized that she was in the process of being abducted, so naturally she did what seemed most logical.

She screamed, blood curdling and at a high octave. Not only that, but she also began to flail in the Sith's grasp. She wasn't a superhuman of any kind, but it certainly was enough to be annoying.

"L-Let go of me!"

In the process of her flailing, one of her Lekku would smack Kivah in the face.

"Ah feth!" Kivah shouted out and jerked away as Chi'no awoke screaming. Between that, and the Twi'lek's thrashing, she began to slip from the Cathar's broad shoulder she'd been slung over. The lekku to the face was the final bit. Catching Kivah mid-stride, she tried to twist her head to see around the flailing appendage just as her stride dipped her shoulder on that side. With Chi'no's torso hanging off, Kivah tried to hold onto her legs, but ended up toppling over when she swung her sword out to the side to prevent the flailing girl from cutting herself on its razor's edge.

Laying on the floor, Kivha pushed back with her legs, trying to make sure she was covering Chi'no with her heavy body as her tail flailed around under her. "Okay," she said looking up at Braze, above them. "Maybe I'll split it seventy-thirty." She still had her sword, but it was all she had readily available weapon wise with someone already drawn on her.

Thought for a couple of seconds "...Deal."

Braze wasn't going to argue when their target could easily be harmed if they kept doing so. He flashed her a small smile. "Don't worry. You'll be okay after this, I promise."

He kept moving, doing his best to keep them covered and hold any other pursuers off their tail. It wasn't about the money this time, either. He wanted to get close to the person who had issued such a ridiculous bounty.

The Twi'lek would let out a squeal as she went to the ground, then an 'oof' sound as the Kathar pinned her below her. She flailed more, but to no avail, though she would stop when the two bounty hunters began to negotiate.

"...Deal."

"Don't worry. You'll be okay after this, I promise."

Chi'no stared at the echani boy blankly for a moment and took in his smile before she huffed and began to squirm again. Her Lekku would arc up and smack the Kathar again.

"H-hey, I object to the deal!" she squeaked out. "Don't I get a say?! I-I'm not even a criminal!"
