PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Heuristically learning droid brain: Like the Ori'akar, the Werlaara sensor data and a vast database of information about various environments, weather conditions and a myriad other factors and the sheer processing power of it's heuristically learning processor to allow it to almost perfectly match the environment around it.
  • Networked: Additional Werlaara suites can be networked together to better cloak larger platforms and reduce the strain on the individual system.
  • Manda Tactical Battlenet Compatibility: Compatibility with the Manda tactical battlenet ensures that the electronic warfare suite does not affect friendly Manda module equipped craft in the same network, and also provides additional sensor data to boost the Werlaara's sensor-augmented cloak.
  • Electronic Warfare Suite:
    • All subsystems of the Welaara's electroinc warfare suite can be automatically managed by the system,
      • DERP: The dedicated energy receptor projector on the Werlaara blocks incoming long-range sensor pings and transmissions broadcasted by enemy ships, rendering the craft invisible to most enemy scanners, targeting computers and incoming ordnance.
      • Static Discharge Panels: The static discharge panels scramble communications and subspace frequencies in a short radius around the craft. This allows the device to not only potentially jam incoming sensor pulses but also to jam a target's outgoing signals.
      • Full-spectrum Distortion Projector: The full-spectrum distortion projector module has the potential to block all scanners and targeting computers by using broadband transmissions to interfere with sensors attempting to target the craft.
      • Guidance Jammer: The Werlaara features a powerful guidance jammer designed to homing computers aboard concussion missiles and proton torpedoes.
      • Emissions Disguiser: The Werlaara disguises a craft's drive emissions, delaying the time it takes to lock onto a craft's engines, or pick it up at medium to long ranges.
      • Hyperwave Beacon Scrambler: Part of maintaining stealth is ensuring that your targets can report your presence, though the scrambler included as part of the Werlaara package is capable of potentially shutting down all hostile holotechnology in a short radius. Particularly powerful systems resistant to powerful electronic scrambling techniques may be able to remain operable. Networking multiple Werlaara modules, however, can increase this distance proportionately.
  • Stealth Systems:
    • Gravitic Amplitude Modifier: The GAM can spoof mass-detectors and similar detection methods as well as having the added benefit of interfering with the gravitic pulses sent out by Yammosks, effectively jamming the creature's transmissions. Similar technology to the gravitic pulse method used by Yammosks is also likely to be affected.
    • Anti-ion Emission Tracer: Prevents ships from tracking the Werlaara equipped platform's hyperspace jumps.
    • Cloaking Device: The Werlaara's cloaking device is based off the Ori'akar, and can bend light, sound and electromagnetic waves around itself , and is capable of raising and lowering the emitting temperature to match its environment nigh on perfectly.
    • Photon Absorber
    • Thermal Dissipater
STRENGTHS
  • Invisible: The Werlaara's cloaking device can bend light, sound and electromagnetic waves around itself , and is capable of raising and lowering the emitting temperature to match its environment nigh on perfectly. Thanks to its photon absorber and thermal dissipater, the Werlaara's mounting platform is that much harder to detect, while its GAM allows it to spoof mass-detectors and other similar technology. As far as sensors and visual detection methods are concerned, the mounting platform is indeed invisible.
  • Powerful Electronic Warfare Suite: The Werlaara's electronic warfare suite can augment the stealth capabilities of the Werlaara, or can give it decided advantages in a fight. Additionally, the Werlaara's EWAR suite affords it powerful communications jamming capabilities as well, allowing for operational security to be maintained by potentially preventing targets from calling for help or sounding the alarm.
  • Networked, Sensor-boosted Cloak: The Werlaara's sensor-augmented cloak allows to to fine-tune it's capabilities based on sensor data as well as based on data from other networked Werlaara modules. This networking capability allows the Werlaara to better cloak a larger target, as well as reduce the system strain on each individual model.
  • Resilient: The system's housing is well protected against kinetic, energy and ion/EMP damage.
  • Cloaked Weapons: While bright, high temperature weapons such as lasers, turbolasers and the like are unable to be hidden by the Werlaara, low profile weapons such as the company's MMOL-series of ordnance launchers firing missiles in delayed activation or coast mode can be hidden effectively by the Werlaara. This allows craft to fire off missile strikes against targets at long ranges without ever having to drop their cloak.
  • No Stygium/Hibridium: The Werlaara's lack of utilization of Stygium or Hibridium makes repair a question of skill and specialist tools rather than requiring rare and/or expensive materials as well.
WEAKNESSES
  • Shields or Cloak: The Werlaara's cloaking device cannot operate in conjunction with a vessel's shield generators. One or the other will have to be active at a time.
  • Field Disruptor or Cloak: The Werlaara's cloaking device cannot operate in conjunction with field disruptors that many covert craft make use of, one or the other will have to have to be active at a time.
  • Too Much Interference: Unless craft have a way to share data to reduce interference from the electronic warfare suite, then friendly craft in a squadron all operating the Werlaara will all have reduced targeting, tracking, scanning abilities and will find sensor and comms ranges affected.
  • Overload: At very short ranges, usually point blank, if exposed to very bright lights, loud sounds or intense electromagnetic waves the system will fail to bend that particular wave. If exposed to all three, the system will overload, shutdown and go through a recalibration and reboot cycle.
  • EMP/Ion: Because of the complicated electronics, should any EMP/ion damage manage to bypass the various protective measures, it will likely be damaged past the point of being able to be repaired outside of a return to the company's workshops.
  • Sensors: The Werlaara's cloaking device is highly dependant on the sensor suite of whatever it is mounted on to function as a true cloaking device. A low resolution, low quality sensor suite will result in it being little more than a fancy camouflage suite, but a powerful sensor suite will allow it to match and even surpass a Stygium based system.
  • Emissions: The Werlaara does a lot to mask it's mounting platform's emissions, that said, high speed maneuvers are likely to give the craft away if the engines themself aren't built to accommodate stealth craft.
  • Activation Time: The biggest disadvantage of the Werlaara's cloaking device is that it takes time proportional to the size of the mounting platform to activate.
DESCRIPTION
"To our enemies, we will be just that: a myth."
- Strill Securities Tra'ibahikan squadron leader Aenarr Kyrr
"Who the shab needs Stygium when you've got good old fashioned Mando ingenuity?"
- Breshig War Forge CEO Shuklaar Kyrdol
The culmination of years of research and development, the Werlaara represents Breshig War Forge's best foot forward on the front of both cloaking devices not based on Stygium or Hibridium, but also on powerful electronic warfare suites. The Werlaara is capable of being mounted to a variety of platforms, from vehicles to installations. The Werlaara maintains scalability, allowing multiple suites to be networked together to combine their processing capabilities to reduce the strain on each individual module when, especially when being used to cloak a large ship or installation. The lack of reliance on either Stygium or Hibridium sets the Werlaara apart from the majority of other cloaking devices on the market.
The Werlaara's cloaking device can bend light, sound and electromagnetic waves around itself , and is capable of raising and lowering the emitting temperature to match its environment nigh on perfectly. Further augmenting this is the provision to be able to fine-tune it's capabilities based on sensor data as well as based on data from other networked Werlaara modules. This networking capability allows the Werlaara to better cloak a larger target, as well as reduce the system strain on each individual model. The cloaking device is as a result, highly dependant on the sensor suite of whatever it is mounted onto function as a true cloaking device. A low resolution, low quality sensor suite will result in it being little more than a fancy camouflage suite, but a powerful sensor suite will allow it to match and even surpass a Stygium based system.
There are a few problems with the cloaking device, however. At very short ranges, usually point blank, if exposed to very bright lights, loud sounds or intense electromagnetic waves the system will fail to bend that particular wave. If exposed to all three, the system will overload, shutdown and go through a recalibration and reboot cycle. The device cannot operate in conjunction with shields nor field disruptors, and as a result only one of the three systems can be active at once. The biggest disadvantage of the Werlaara's cloaking device is that it takes time proportional to the size of the mounting platform to activate.
The Werlaara's photon absorber and thermal dissipater shrink the sensor profile of the mounting platform such that the task of cloaking the target becomes that much easier. It's GAM allows it to spoof mass-detectors and other similar technology. The Werlaara's GAM has the additional advantage of being able to jam the gravitic pulse based communication methods used by Yammosks, as well as any other technology that works on a similar basis. As far as sensors and visual detection methods are concerned, the mounting platform is indeed invisible.
The electronic warfare suite is extremely powerful, and serves to maintain two aspects of stealth in addition to aiding the platform once the time for stealth is over. The dedicated energy receptor projector, hyperwave beacon scrambler and full-spectrum distortion projector all provide scanner jamming and masking, generally ensuring that what few signals are produced by Werlaara equipped craft aren't detected at both short and long ranges. The scrambler is more obvious, however, and the enemy is going to know that their sensors are being scrambled. Guidance systems jamming is also provided by the DERP, but by a dedicated guidance jammer as well. The DERP's multifunctional benefits end with long range communications jamming, while short-range jamming is provided by static discharge panels. In totality, the EWAR suite of the Werlaara only serves to augment the capabilities of the device's advanced, powerful cloaking device.
Compatibility with the Manda tactical battlenet ensures that the electronic warfare suite does not affect friendly Manda module equipped craft in the same network, and also provides additional sensor data to boost the Werlaara's sensor-augmented cloak. This, however, leads into one of the notable problems with the Werlaara. Unless craft have a way to share data to reduce interference from the electronic warfare suite, then friendly craft in a squadron all operating the Werlaara will all have reduced targeting, tracking, scanning abilities and will find sensor and comms ranges affected.
Finally, the Werlaara is built to take a beating. As far as Breshig War Forge Consolidated is concerned, a fragile cloaking device is entirely pointless. Due to the presence of complicated electronics, however, should any EMP/ion damage manage to bypass the various protective measures, it will likely be damaged past the point of being able to be repaired outside of a return to the company's workshops.
