Faction Trouble Finds Trouble (The Family)

Caporegime - Cyber-Intelligence Division

POiQqoG.png

Everyone's Datapad Lights up as a small hologram of a ball appears almost descending from the ceiling of the shuttle.
Mission Brief - Beltrix III
"Hello everyone, I am Dee, Dedata's personal VI. Over the next few moments I will be going over the mission you all are about to be part of. The facility we are heading to is a facility that makes its money with cheap labor and wartime profiteering. It has been determined that prototypes, schematics and relevant information that can be used or sold off is our primary target anything that does not fall into useful is to be destroyed. The facility is made up of three sections, first section we will encounter will be security, from security we then traverse onto the factory floor, then below that is research and development. There is no telling how many guards are patrolling nor will we know they full layout other than the basics; because of this there will be three teams to ensure the plan goes as smooth as possible." With every word spoken the ball appeared to glitch tough was nothing more than a visual feature.
Strike Team Datamine
The screen on everyone's datapad changed displaying more information. "Strike team Datamine's task is to follow behind Strike Team Hunter as they clear the way of hostiles. For the first phase you will offer a supporting role using your skills. Once you reach the R&D that is when phase two begins. You are to examine the tech and schematics and decide to take, copy or destroy."
Strike Team Hunter
"Strike Team Hunters task is to take lead infiltrating your primary goal is to ensure the safety of Strike team Datamine. This means your group will be the first in to clear any first contact. You will receive support from slicers and engineers on the way to the R&D facility. There should be a very minimal civilian presence so be sure to check your fire, we are after the one percent here and not the people. Rule of thumb, they shoot at you shoot or stab back. Once Strike Team Datamine is in place you are to then create a defensive position until ready for extraction."
Strike Team Defender

"Strike Team Defender has perhaps the hardest job. The facility has state of the art security alert systems that have yet to be determined the locations of. This means there is a high chance of either security or mercenaries comming to check things out. There is a high possibility they will come in packing more dangerous equipment. No matter what is thrown at you, you must protect the extraction point and prevent any hostiles from gaining access to the building".
Extraction Plans
"Once Strike team Hunter and Datamine has finished inside, they are to double time it back to the extraction point with the haul. Before calling a shuttle immediate enemy's must be cleared. Once clear the shuttle can be signaled for pick up. However in the possibility the perimeter can no longer hold a secondary extraction point will be the roof of the facility. In the event this happens charges will be placed through the building till reaching a shipping container on the roof for a fast pick up."

The small shuttles flew low over the rooftops of factories and their stacks letting out plumes of smoke and steam. Looking out the small slit window of the sliding door no one could make out what was outside as the night shrouded their approach. There was even the harsh patter of heavy rain slapping against the exterior. Dedata looked at everyone inside the craft with her, as they readied themselves for what was about to come. Even she herself felt nervous, this was not how Dedata would normally do things and a target as lucrative as this would have taken months of preparation. However this time, it was different. She did not have months to plan how to pull something like this off alone, that was the thing though; Dedata recognizes that she was no longer alone.

The family offered resources that in the past was never an option. She was also a leader and in a way that made it seem like something to prove. Looking at the map displayed on the HUD showed that they where not far. She placed the Datapad that was in her hand into the largest bag on the harness then delved into a second. The Caporegime began pulling out small devices that appeared to hook onto the ear and passed them around. With a gesture she hinted for everyone to put them on and waited for a moment. Her eyes shifted to the map once more and moved closer to the door. "If all of you put the devices on I will hear you on a secure line, and what I say will appear as text in front of you. Make sure to keep these on for communication.
4TsQGPK.gif
"

Just in the feel the shuttle began to slow down till stopping and lowered down. Dedata's hand pulled the latch by the door and with a hiss it pushed out and slid open. Heavy rain began to pour in as it created a mist making things hard to make out. The woman stepped out of the craft and looked back to wait on all of them to disembark so she could signal the driver to go hide and await the sign for pickup. "Okay the factory is up ahead, stay low stick to the shadows. This rain will cover us well until we are on top of them, beware because the security has the same advantage. Strike team Hunter you will advance with me. Datamine follow us after and Defence team you will take rear.
4TsQGPK.gif
"

Dedata moved over to the tall industrial concrete wall. Peeking around the corner she issued a quick hack to turn the lights off on one side of the few meter wide path. "On the count of three we get ready to move." Her hand lifted up holding three fingers. "Three, two, one." Each word a finger fell and on the last the woman began to move quick on the left side of the path where it was darkest.

I’m Kardek, He’s Alpha
Strike Team Hunter
Dedata | Celty Ree Dedata | Celty Ree and others

Kardek shifted slightly, trying to keep his foot from falling asleep as he sat along the inner hull of the shuttle. A large, thick trench coat covered his husky frame. Underneath it his modified mandalorian chest armor made of beskar could be seen, a souvenir from another life. His expression was one of focus with eyebrows slightly furrowed, making him look almost angry as he sat there, his face illuminated by the orange hue of his cigarra, and eyes flashed with a piercing green hue.

Alpha sat beside him, holding his heavy repeater cannon by its barrel as it's stock rested against the durasteal floor. He leaned forward, face slowly turning occasionally in the directions of various movements of others. Quiet. He was ready.

They listened to the briefing from Dedata | Celty Ree Dedata | Celty Ree 's personal VI. Seemed straightforward enough. He read the details of his assignment as it flashed onto his datapad, scrolling slowly. Yep. They was the muscle. He was just glad to not be babysitting The Family's upper-ups for a change. There was only so much standing around and looking pretty that he could take. He wanted to actually DO something. If this mission ended up being too easy and he just stood around guarding some slicers, he was going to be pissed. He wanted to kriffin' kill something. Or better yet... maybe something would finally kill him and put an end to his meaningless existence.

Well... there were some perks to letting all of your hopes and dreams die and just taking orders like a dog...

For one: you're not invested anymore. Visions of grandeur are terribly exhausting, not to mention all consuming. Kardek was a man who needed a vision... needed a purpose... but without one, he found himself just not caring as much about anything... and drinking a lot more... and just having a kriffin' good time as much as possible. If he was honest with himself, he kind of enjoyed it... even if a deeper part of himself was slowly dying a little every day.

For two: You cared less about the idea of death. Sure, that could obviously be a detriment in some cases... but have you ever fought someone who's concern for their own safety was completely absent? It's kriffin' terrifying.

Kardek took the offered earpiece and put it on with a rather blank expression. He didn't bother trying to look out the windows... he didn't care enough. As the shuttle door lowered, the wind blew through with a rather refreshing coolness. Both him and Alpha stood up, holding onto handles that were attached to the ceiling. It was his first time working directly with Dedata | Celty Ree Dedata | Celty Ree . They were obviously concerned with a high level of discretion, never speaking, always covered. Kardek knew they were not mute. They were just smart. While he shared a strong value for discretion, he had never gone to such lengths as Dedata... perhaps it would be his downfall... who knows.

Kardek and Alpha descended to the ground with the others, taking a position at the front, close to Dedata. As the countdown started, Kardek drew both blasters from his hip and raised them, spitting out his cigarra as it hissed softly in the rain. He smashed it with his boot, then on the mark the two of them moved briskly alongside Dedata through the shadows.

Mairéad sat on the rocking shuttle opposite Kardek Alpha Kardek Alpha and his buddy Alpha, she listened to the instructions from Dedata | Celty Ree Dedata | Celty Ree and took the earpiece from her, the AI in her helmet was able to quickly integrate the feed so she wouldnt have to deal with a duplicate HUD effect, she would also get the dreamsight to translate the words from Dedata into a audio message. It wouldnt be Dedata's voice, but it wouldnt be as potentially distracting as having a floating message appear in her line of sight without warning. She had no idea why Dedata chose to communicate this way, but it was not hers to question the Caporegime.

As Dedata finished and turned to make sure she was ready, she looked over at Kardek and smiled, she had first met him at the meeting in the Star Lounge and had actually quite enjoyed getting to know the pair. Even after the slightly off key suggestion that he and Alpha might benm dating. "Good to see you again, I never knew you?" She tapped the iron heart on her chestplate "Which clan? You look ready for a good fight, you too Alpha." Mairéad flipped her braided hair inside her suit and clicked her helmet into place, watching as the HUD lit up giving her full visual as if she wasn't even wearing it.

The shuttle landed and Mairéad walked out with the others, her scattergun was on her back but she had her FDS-F4 I'm her hand. The dreamsight switched modes to give her better vision in the squall. She was ready to defend the Capo and her team effectively, but for now she remained quiet in the shadows, deactivating her armours shield systems to reduce her light signature.

The team carried on up the alleyway between two large structures, they couldn't land right on top of the target in order to maintain discretion so there would be a little walk to get there. Her HUD pinged as it detected motion ahead of them. "Dogs" she said as she raised her fist to stop the team and watch the contact move past, two dogs and a humanoid handler walked on the other side of chain link fence that closed off a brief gap in the side of the alleyway. It looked like a fairly standard patrol, no sign of alarm.

Once the target had moved on, she gave the signal for them to progress.

She'd been searching for a specific being when she'd been recruited for The Family. The one wearing the blatantly fancy armor with the gizmos and doodads that whizzed and popped if you paid too close attention to the electronic hum about the suit. It made her irritable being in an enclosed space with its own set of noises.

The others inside, the droid and semi-biological, at least they were quieter in their own way. Even if the droid kept glancing about.

Thr cigarra was a welcome smell however as she lit one of her own for the ride. Silver reflecting the orange glow as she fiddled with a knife. The briefing passing quickly after earpiece went on. The door opened and everyone moved out. Her gaze lingered on the armored one before getting back on track.

This was a job after all. Personal matters could wait till after.

Drawing one of her smaller blades, she kept the other hand free for the moment. Following behind at the signal, she only paused when everyone else paused. If they were going to deal with security, wouldn't it make sense to deal with some of them now?

She squinted through the rain, leaning to stare at the helmeted figure ahead in the skin suit. Severely hoping this wouldn't be the trend for the entire trip inside.

They began moving again, her senses expanding as she drew upon old magic to supplement what was already there. It didn't help much in the rain.

Aside from the wet hound smell that dominated her nostrils. The bodies moving around inside however drew her attention. Seemed a mass migration of some sort was happening, sensing only a portion from their spot along the shadowy spot.

Now how to report it.

"Keep eye on corners. Lunch or break time." She offered, hoping it made sense.

A few moments earlier…

"Good to see you again…" Mairéad Solus Mairéad Solus said with a smile, which honestly caught Kardek a bit off guard considering the shenanigans he had pulled during their first encounter. It was good to know that she seemed willing to move forward in a professional capacity. He nodded and for a brief moment softened his intense focus, showing a warm and receptive countenance. "I never knew you? Which clan? You look ready for a good fight, you too Alpha." She gestured towards her own Mandalorian armor. Kardek looked at her silently for a moment, as if contemplating how to respond. He was never one to openly share about his past, or much of anything for that matter beyond the typical polished banter and front that he expressed to those around him. He then looked down towards his own chest armor which carried no emblem of any kind, then nodded as if he had come to a conclusion.

"This is my clan now." He said, turning towards Alpha and slapping him fondly on his shoulder, causing Alpha to whirr pleasantly at the thought, shifting his frame slightly as he looked from Kardek to Mairéad and offered her a small and friendly wave. Then, Alpha remembered the comment Mairéad had made about thinking they were a couple. He quickly made a metallic coughing sound, holding his metal hand up to his nonexistent mouth as he subtly pushed himself slightly further away from Kardek, not ever wanting to give anyone such an idea ever again. Kardek broke into a wide smile for a split second at this, turning back to Mairéad and giving her a subtle wink.

"Good to see you again." He was about to ask her a question in return regarding her clan, however it was about that time that the back of the shuttle opened. Kardek glanced back at the other rather quiet member of their team ( Jenzid Channsalj Jenzid Channsalj ) and gave her a nod of acknowledgement as he stood up…

In the present…

Kardek had detected the motion as well though his cybernetic scanners, the two of them stopping with the others and pushing further into the shadows as they began to pass in front of them. "Don't mind if I…" Kardek said softly as he extended his left arm, holstering the weapon in his other hand quietly as he hit a few buttons on his vambrace. A tiny device was quietly released into the air, quickly rising above them and disappearing almost instantly from visual sight. Kardek focused, using his cybernetic enhancements to direct the tracking beacon until it attached itself ever so quietly to the helmet of the guard, the rain drowning out any possible sound that the small device might have emitted. Success. The guard and the dogs moved away completely unaware. Kardek would now be able to track the unit's whereabouts, which might come in handy when they were attempting to make their escape later on. "Perfect." He whispered.

As they continued their approach, Jenzid Channsalj Jenzid Channsalj shared some information she had obtained, "Keep eye on corners. Lunch or break time." Kardek looked over at them, a little curious regarding what kind of tech she was sporting. He would have to ask her later. Whatever it was… he wanted one.

They were now approaching the entrance. Kardek looked over towards Dedata | Celty Ree Dedata | Celty Ree ... "Any specific way you want us to make entry?" He asked. He was a bit surprised to see them leading towards the front, assuming their role would be that of the slicer that they would be protecting. He wasn't sure who exactly was taking point on Strike Team Hunter… Normally he would assume leadership, however Mairéad seemed to be thinking the exact same thing… and so with Dedata heading in right along side them, he decided it was probably best that he submit himself to Dedata's direction.

Nyx turned her red eyes on the Caporegime that offered an earpiece to her. It only took a split second before they gave the humanoid-looking droid a second look and decided the awkward silence was more than enough response, and they moved on. Most importantly, Nyx's cranial unit lacked an ear canal for such a thing to be of any utility. Rather, her scan on the device had acquired the necessary correspondence information to tap in for secure communication.

Naturally, the droid was quite calm seeing how Nyx possessed the ability to activate her emotional subroutines at will. Now was not the time to feign anxiety. She did, however, allow her servos to float giving her dark exterior a bit of 'sway' aboard the ship. Organics responded better when you weren't an unnaturally motionless automaton occupying space -- more statue than 'living' being. Nyx at least made sure even in chop her metal body didn't plow into anyone.

Once the shuttle was in position, the door was opened to reveal the wet exterior. Nyx didn't balk at the scene. So long as her chassis was not compromised the water would be of no concern. It would be rather bothersome when it came to target acquisition, but the Family strike team was counting on that for their approach. A screen that worked both ways; ideally better for their purposes rather than hunting their opposition.

As they emerged, Nyx's gaze regarded that of Kardek Alpha Kardek Alpha . A pair that looked ready to engage in combat. Nyx was especially curious about Alpha's programming. What kind of Electronic Intelligence was it? How far had its evolution progressed? Hopefully it was not still confined by the initial programming of its creator or owner. A thought that was only emphasized based on Alpha's... unusual behavior following Kardek slapping it on the shoulder. Certainly not the behavior of a factory-issued programming.

Given Nyx wasn't an ingrained member of this criminal unit, she stood with Team Datamine. A function Nyx felt quite comfortable in holding with a responsibility suited to a droid like herself. New data was always welcome. Her processing power and experience in similar operations should prove quite valuable in making a thorough and timely report on whatever they found. Naturally, Nyx would also gladly keep a copy of what they found in her own database for its own thorough analysis -- on-site or after mission completion, depending on how much of her resources were needed for combat as a result of unforeseen circumstances.

As such, Nyx followed behind Team Hunter up ahead as the mission parameters requested. She could have easily performed both duties until inside the computer system, but she couldn't deny a strict separation of role allowed the Family to maintain control of their operation. If nothing else, the assassin/clandestine operations droid would protect the other members of Team Datamine should the enemy manage to slip by Team Hunter.

Before

War profiteers. People who made weapons of mass destruction, and sold them to the highest bidder. Typically scum of which he had large amounts of displeasure in interacting with. But he could not fault them - for it was merely in the nature of such folk to do so. Hell, it was at one point in his nature, though in that case he was the weapon being sold to the highest bidder. Not anymore. He decided to join this mission to finally feel like he was doing something a tad more meaningful with his skills. Something aside from senseless bloodshed. No, this time, he wished for a purpose that was beyond that. Busting what sounded like a horrid facility that took advantage of the unfortunate only to make their lives more miserable, seemed like a good step in helping the people who lived here.

He was once again under the alias of ‘Gorian’ for this mission. He was never one for slicing, only the utilization of tools to complete a task that would get him past security systems. Instead, ‘Gorian’ opted for what he was best at - defending others when the going got rough. Whilst Strike Team Hunter was an option, it was better suited for a swift and stealthy approach - and the latter was not his forte. The powersuit he brought did not exactly scream ‘swift and stealthy’, and though it boasted some capabilities in both, he deemed it would be more of a liability if he tried to test its capabilities there. He didn’t know if there were others assigned with his team, but he was assigned the task of taking the rear of the group as they made their foray inside - letting them do the infiltration and following as they forged the path ahead. Instead, his task was to aid in covering their extraction and deal with company that was perhaps a certainty as the mission progressed. He had no issues if he was the only one covering their escape - the armament carried with him was enough for a small squad.

The armored individual’s form shifted constantly as the ship rumbled about in its descent. Camouflage on his armor and equipment were preemptively activated, making it a tad difficult to tell his form apart from the hull as he ran a quick systems diagnostic through his AI Assistant to ensure all things were prepared before he went into the thick of it. His grip was around a bar on the top of the ship for balance (Though the armor made it somewhat unnecessary), speaking barely at all since boarding, only quietly observing the others that would be accompanying. The familiar faces of Kardek Alpha Kardek Alpha , and a voice of which he recognized as Mairéad Solus Mairéad Solus beneath the Mandalorian armor. Seeing said familiar design of the armor made him somewhat wary out of habit, though his thoughts were closely guarded by the repeated clicks of loading a gun in his mind. He was curious how the other former Bounty Hunter would perform in combat - making note of the camaraderie between him and Alpha, with a bit of an amused smile hidden by the helmet at the sight and words exchanged. Though, he noticed something was a tad..off about Kardek's usual look. As if a façade, so often broadcasting an air of confidence and cunning, fell away to reveal but a shell of that. Brow furrowed at this, as it seemed there was more to the gunslinger than he let on at the social gatherings. There was also another pair of faces he had not seen before, being an equally quiet woman ( Jenzid Channsalj Jenzid Channsalj ), and a droid of curious model and make ( Nyx N1X3 Nyx N1X3 ). He would not disturb them, nor anyone else for that matter, as he listened along to what he could - integrating the earpiece in his helmet in an isolated section of sorts, so that it would not be likely to infiltrate the rest of the closely-guarded equipment later.

Now

The man was careful in his movements, only moving when the coast was clear and he was sure he would not disturb the others in their objectives. Following behind the droid apart of Team Datamine, at the very back of the cadre, his sensors were at work to ensure the patrols would not rotate around. He could verify the woman’s guess at Lunch or Dinner, for he too noticed a large mess of motion within the compound, though it would’ve been unnecessary to repeat her words. Surprisingly, his movements were swifter and lighter than the armor would have one believe, making barely any noise save to those who were close to him, thanks to his Sound Dampening Belt. He knew it would come in handy sooner or later. Pressed close to the shadowy alleyways with his armor shifting with the environment, he trailed behind the rest with a watchful vigil.

Man, this just kept getting weirder and weirder for Saraiya. Not that long ago, she was hauling backside on her swoopbike through the 1313 back on Coruscant with Ragos clutching to her for dear life. Then, she's right in the middle of the the oddest meeting she'd ever been in. A seven foot tall green Twi'lek, a huge dog-looking guy in a suit, and a whole lot of posturing, fancy suits and outfits, and even more double-speak than a toydarian trying to peddle half-dead womp-rats as pets. Now, she'd been somehow roped into this whole 'let's go find some crazy proto-tech and klep it!'.

She sighed lightly, preferring to keep herself slightly separated from the group she was with. Of course, she was still new to this type of chit, and as a result, she wasn't exactly carrying the right gear, or at least she didn't think so. Last she checked, there wasn't a 'Criminal Type Adventure Outfitters' kind of place nearby. The suit she wore was form fitting, her usual racing leathers. Though, they weren't the typical leathers, not by a longshot. Special gift from the same crew that re-fit her swoopbike, and it was just full of surprises, she had been finding out as of late.

Adjusting the jacket she wore over the black & fuchsia riding suit, she tapped on bottom jaw-section of her helmet, the datapad's hologram appearing on the H.U.D. She wasn't exactly sure why she was coming along save the fact that apparently, word got out she was pretty handy with a spanner and soldering iron. As she listened to the VI brief, she pulled out her blaster pistol, and made sure it had a fully charged pack. She had an extra with her, just to be safe, but it was these other leg-breaker's job to keep her hindquarters firmly attached to her frame.

As the rest filed out quickly and quietly after the shuttle touched down, she followed the droid in front of her. She recognized her, as well as the others save one, from that meeting they had a little while back. Didn't really know them all that well, but she was always of the mind that if you wanted to get to know someone, you'd know all you need to once you got knee-deep into the chit with them. And she had this sinking feeling that they would be knee-deep soon enough.

"Hey, uh...Nyx, right? I'm gonna stick close to you, I got a feeling we are about to see some wild chit tonight..."

Yeah, get in, klep the proto-tech & schematics, and get out. Simple, right?

Never that simple. Never.

As the team moved forward Dedata could feel the heavy rain pound against the skin tight bodysuit, if it was not for the materials she'd be soaked through already. The woman was surprised to get as many hands available for this as she did and a few that had began to make a name for themselves in the organization, even the bar guy Samuel Exel Samuel Exel had came along. It was safe to say she was eager to see how the man performed. Eyes kept trained forwards to where they was advancing with a quick glance every few seconds at the motion sensors.

Just as three blips pinged Mai had beaten the Capo to warning the other. The woman slowed to a stop and got lower as her HUD outlined the security patrol as they passed by. She had taken notice of the initiative from Kardek sending out a tracker, No doubt the defence team would have to deal with them later. It was to much a risk to cause commotion at the moment and it was the best idea to let them pass. Mairéad Solus Mairéad Solus knew her stuff, being a Mandalorian that was expected.

Dedata turned her head as Kardek asked his question. Against her way of doing things she still smirked that was hidden behind an visor that glowed a dim blood orange hue. "We are going in the front entrance Kardak, contrary to the approach this is not a stealth mission. Just best to surprise them at the front door than skirmish our way up. These people have the advantage of the land. They know it better than any of us shortcuts and the lot. All goes to plan I hope for hard while taking the rug from below their feet.
4TsQGPK.gif
"

The team was about 60 meters away from the entrance that had a long row of turnstiles and a small enclosed kiosk in the center. "Okay close enough to sprint for it from this point on, weapons hot. Alpha and Mairéad, you two take point Kardek and Jenzid keep tight behind watch your sides. Rest of us will follow behind. When we are at the entrance Mai I want to you lead the hunters. Kilo and Tera will watch out backs. Gorian, you will be paired with Reaper to watch your back, get a good position kay.
4TsQGPK.gif
"

Dedata held her hand out and counting down from five with her fingers before signaling to sprint. She would wait for the hunter team to advance before sprinting herself with the rest of Team Datamine and her two bodyguards.

Nfg578H.png

Several guards stood smoking and huddled by the kiosk under the thick concrete canopy of the entrance. Their eyes kept a look out into the dark side of the path that was illuminated with lights moments ago. Between them they tried to theorise what caused them to black out. Yet non of them made any attempts to check it out. Given the rain it was clear staying dry was more important than doing their job. To them it was an easy job with a fat paycheck it was easy to feign ignorance in a district that always seemed quiet. No uniform can cover up the blood stained hands of a bunch of corporate goons. As the hunter team got closer the low illuminating lights casted the outline of the security guards.

"Think I see something out there." One man spoke leaning side to side and squinted his eyes.

"Probably a patrole, if you're that worried go check it out."

"By myself, not a chance. Heard a guy went for a little wonder last week and one of those dogs caught his scent. Know where he is now? Hospital. No way I am goin down like that. Besides that is some... There again." This time he pointed out a quick glint of metal reflecting light. The security guard clicked off the tab of his holster and held tight onto the weapon while tossing his Cigarette out into the downpour.

The others seeing their colleague spooked began to draw their blasters as all of them now was gazing into the dark.

Mairéad waited for the signal from Dedata | Celty Ree Dedata | Celty Ree before beginning to run, picking up speed and activating the shields build into her armour for added protection. This was the last moment she would be unseen. She lifted her left hand and her stun gauntlet launched its miniature projectiles, putting one of the guards unconscious in a single shot. Her other hand flicked out and instantly the sheets of rain froze and became hundreds of shards of hardened ice blasting towards two more of the guards, one of shouted as frozen blades whipped across his face, cutting into his skin and blinding him, he dropped to the floor bleeding from a cut in his throat. Another was lucky enough to pull his arm up in front of his vulnerable facial area. He managed to prevent the lacerations from the ice, but on turn had blinded himself from the approach of the rest of the hunting team. Fully half of the guard team were incapacitated either permanently or temporarily, and they had barely had time to get a shot off.

One of them did however manage to take a shot at the mandalorian, whose armour sparked as blaster bolts glanced off of her pauldrons. She looked back af the assailant, grinning under her helmet, knowing that guard would likely be next.

The rain belted down on the group, the storm was worsening and thunder rolled through the sky, it may even be enough to drown out the worst of the fighting. Seeing the man she had lacerated was still struggling to die, she did him a quick mercy by popping a couple of mag rounds into him from her wrist blaster, she was not a monster.

She'd simply nodded when the orders were given. Two on point, two supporting. The rest to follow behind. An easy enough plan that likely wouldn't entirely survive given the rather boisterous greeting they were preparing to give.

But she wasn't being paid to plan, just work.

Letting the obvious leader take point, Jen watched in silence from the shadowy spot as the guards drew their weapons, her knife a flash in the dark. Mai took a running start to the assembled group of guards and she couldn't help but smirk at the sight.

Was that how she dealt with all of her problems? Running in head first with armor to keep her hide saved?

It amused her a little thinking about the troubles Mai had left behind her as a guard pivoted to take aim. The eyepatch flipped up, a green laced silver eye sparkling briefly as murmurs escaped her lips.

Brackish green slipped out from beneath the guards feet to snare their hands as Jen turned her attention to the door, where her other eye focused through. Behind the door turned translucent, faces turned their way, and Jen scowled.

"More alert. Breach quick." She announced, more brackish green whisps of dathomir magick clinging to the feet of the remaining guards outside as her eye began to burn.

One she pulled down to the ground directly, dragging his form into the shadows beneath her hand.

Nyx turned her cranial unit to the side as Saraiya Darkstar Saraiya Darkstar confessed a certain level of apprehension about the upcoming assignment. Having worked alongside organics for some time, which allowed her to develop a sophisticated (though not perfected) organic-simulation module, the droid understood what the young woman was saying. It was not something Nyx could 'feel,' but the logic behind the emotion was not in question. There was an ancient saying, 'Even the best-laid plans do not survive contact with the enemy.'

"I assure you that I will take every action to ensure your extraction." Almost every action. See, Nyx understood hyperbole. Killing everyone else accompanying them just to save Saraiya wouldn't be quite so well received, would it? So, not literally 'every action.'

The red optics turned in Dedata | Celty Ree Dedata | Celty Ree 's direction next as the woman started laying down an attack plan. In short order, the droid turned back to Saraiya once more and gave the woman a silent thumbs up gesture as the countdown began. If she engaged the holoveil a smile would have been possible, but such a frivilous use of holo-optics at the cusp of a mission start was not in her programming -- there was only so far Nyx would emulate organics.

Much like Samuel Exel Samuel Exel and his dampening belt, the full-metal droid in their company was surprising silent as the group began to move. The construction of her feet, some sound absorption material, and the precise utilization of mathematics enabled the shocking quiet movement for a droid. Still, even Nyx could make use of sound dampeners from time to time for when even the smallest noise had to be muffled -- she wasn't a ghost.

Though, if any of the guards slipped through the Hunter team's net, they might well wish Nyx were a figment of their imaginations. There were no qualms about 'silencing' opposition resources if the mission parameters held no preference. Seeing how others present weren't holding back, the parameters of the mission with regard to witnesses and well-being of others seemed pretty well established.

As Dedata | Celty Ree Dedata | Celty Ree gave instructions, Kardek winced slightly at the fact that him and Alpha would not be taking point together. He nodded at Alpha, who nodded back in return, receiving permission from the gunslinger to move forward without him.

The assassin droid activated his adaptive camouflage which quickly took on the lighting and textures of his surroundings, reducing visibility to others by at least 80%. Alpha raised his heavy repeater cannon with the energy cell strapped to his back and began to move quickly alongside Mairéad Solus Mairéad Solus , creating enough space in-between the two of them so that any enemy fire would not pose any risk to the members of the team behind them. Alpha noted Mai's attack strategy, bringing his cannon higher and preparing to fire at the exact moment that her projectiles would strike the first guard. As soon as her hits landed, the darkness lit up around Alpha with a loud and brilliant stream of fire, the attack making an arc pattern across the front of the door…

BRAA-BRAA-BRAA-BRAA-BRAA-BRAA

The remaining guards who had not suffered under the hand of Mai and Jenzid Channsalj Jenzid Channsalj were flung up against the sealed doors from the deadly impacts, their bodies suffering multiple penetrations as they fell lifelessly to the ground. Alpha slowed as the two of them approached the door, Alpha with cannon still raised as it quickly pointed from one enemy to the other, checking to make sure they were all truly incapacitated.

As Mai provided a mercy to the last remaining guard, Alpha looked at her and offered a nod. They were good to go. He lowered his weapon, knowing that Mai would have his back should any unforeseen situation arise, quickly moving towards one of the downed guards and removing their key card from their pocket. He looked it over for a second, tilting his head in observation. Yes… this should be rather simple indeed.

The assassin droid approached the security consul and was about to swipe the card when he observed that it would require a security code to be entered as well. Hmm… not as simple... since they were all clearly dead. "More alert. Breach quick." Jenzid said. He responded by tossing the card on the ground carelessly and lowering his metallic hand as an access port exposed itself. He entered the access port into the consul, twisting and turning it as he attempted to hack the system. This should only take a few moments, he thought. As soon as the doors would open, he knew that Mai would be ready for whatever might be behind the door…

He would have preferred to keep a low profile. His armor wasn't that cumbersome-looking to opt for such a strategy, was it? Or was the plan merely always going to turn out like this? No matter, he mused to himself, for the end-result would be the same as long as none realized the identities of this crew. An issue he did not quite realize the rest already deigned a solution to: summary execution. That didn't quite sit right with him, but now was not the time for complaints. 'Corpos', as he now knew the slang they were called by (typically from Denon, though it was seemingly popularized for the galaxy at large), didn't always have the cleanest of hands from what he heard. Doubted the ones working under War Profiteers were much different.

He did not participate in Mairead's frontal assault, for his weapons were rather prone to noise pollution. Instead, he once again took the opportunity to observe what he could of his co-workers. Mairead's tech earned intrigue, though it was shortly sullened by what could've been a brutal display of guards getting lacerated, throats slashed, and dragged by otherworldly forces. The green hue of Magick surprised him, for he had only heard tell of such a thing from an encounter Ela had, and nothing more. Efforts to hide his mind redoubled, just in case. So many Forcies, lately, all of intriguing and unique capabilities he had seldom encountered - if ever. Perhaps he should look into some better hardware, because it was only an eventuality at this rate he'd encounter one that would be once again in his opposition. With the payout of this job, that would be more feasible. Alpha's assault only strengthened the point that this was by no means a stealth mission any longer.

He was told to go with the Chiss woman, Reaper, in which the two only exchanged a passing glance of acknowledgement for the other, bearing no words as they veered off from Team Hunter, for none were needed. Finding a vantage point was easy, as his system's scanners began to gleam a bird's eye view of the place from the newly found perch. Atop a nearby building that he ascended to through an access way. Hand-cannon was slid out of his holster as he stepped up to the roof, as it was then he noticed several security teams - of which they let pass by earlier, only to cause this very loud mess - coming back with brisk strides to investigate the scene. Helmet's optics narrowed, zero'd in through Electro binoculars. Suppressor was affixed to the weapon, before it was leveled with a steady hand and gaze, tracing their movements.

Reaper was doing similarly, shifting down with a crouch as her keen gaze scanned over the area, only to spare an annoyed glance sidelong to Gorian. "What are you doing?" Scoffed the Chiss woman. "You're using the wrong weapon. Let the professional handle this." Crass, as she, too, leveled her rifle at the encroaching crowd of security, flicking the setting to 'Long Range.' A sidearm was no reasonable weapon to be using for long-ranges - let alone one that didn't seem to have much more than iron sights. "Watch me." Gave the armored individual in stubborn reply, as his own setting was flicked. With a squeeze of a trigger, a whisper-quiet Verpine Shatter Dart flew through the air with frightening speed, only to embed itself with surprising precision into the neck of the soldier, in which he faltered in the middle of step, falling flat on his face as he was electrocuted into unconsciousness. Despite the situation, he wasn't going to be killing anyone, yet - that unconsciousness would've lasted the entire day. This only served to further annoy the Chiss Assassin due to the inefficiency of bothering to leave them alive at all. With ease, she merely placed another shot on the next member of the patrol - most certainly on a lethal setting - as their head whipped back from being shot, their body following them to the ground. One shot after the other by each alternating person, patrol teams that were originally on the outside of the compound were picked off on their way to the commotion at the entrance.
A pair of guards rounded the corner into Strike Team Hunter's view, but the first received a Verpine Dart to the neck, his head whipping back before the rest of his body followed to the ground as it was electrocuted, and the second received a clean blaster bolt through to his helm, practically ragdolling his body down on onto the pavement through the momentum of their unfinished step, now lifeless. After that, most, if not all, of the encroaching patrols outside had been dealt with by the two overwatching individuals before they ever even neared the to-be insertion point that was the entrance of the complex.

Man, this wasn't what she had in mind when they said she'll see some action yet. Honestly, she wasn't built for this kind of thing, no matter how many times her Aunty Esty told her otherwise. She fixed stuff, built swoopbikes and speeders. Sure, she had built her very own blaster, and it was a karking good one too. But she wasn't strapped to the teeth like those she was with. But as soon as DeData put her hand in the air, hell broke loose. That's when the one in the armor that looked like a Mando got into some neon paints started making the rain somehow freeze into long shards. Sara blinked once or twice at that, kind of taken aback.

"What in the ever-loving feth??"

She'd of course seen all the same holos everyone her age would have seen. The popular stuff, about Jedi and Sith and all that space magic jazz. Just never thought she'd see it point blank in front of her like that. If that's what it even was that Mairead girl was doing. As she looked around, she noticed some sort of greenish looking fog or mist rising up beneath another pair of guard's feet. Her eyes just seemed to get twice as big as she saw this unfold. All right, the rain into ice thing, sure, could be some sort of hence-yet-unknown weapon, but that?! That's just straight up space magic of some kind. Ok, Sarai, you've seen some strange chit, just go with it. Now isn't the time she thought as they began to move forward into the building.

This was definitely a first for the young Coruscanti, she'd only ever been in street-gang shootouts and other minor league stuff. This was like going to war with a private army in front of her. Double-checking the charge meter on the Blossom one last time, she kept herself as shrouded by darkness as was possible. Let the professionals do what they do, Sarai. Just breath, and let them work. Although, mental note: next time just offer to be the wheelman. Less... blastery, I bet.

As the strike team pushed forward releasing volleys of blasterbolts Dedata ensured to remain behind Kilo and Tera who carried heavy metal Shields and a blaster. Every few moments as either of her bodyguards shot or a bolt whizzed by the woman would flinch or duck her head further down. Even as prepared for this as she was, it did not make the reality of the situation easier to handle. Guns made her nervous, the sounds they made and the fact that being hit by one would hurt a lot or potentially kill. Right now the weapons she used where pretty much for show or to be used as a means to pry panels open.

Though it was not just blasters being utilized by the group. It seemed a few possesed power just like someone Dedata knew. Just seeing strange phenomena made the woman think of her first ever experience with the family. It was certainly a scary moment back then, but now well even she could understand that the person was just protecting a past that was buried. Something anyone could understand. Had it not been for that moment, many other wonderful ones following that event would never have happened. Perhaps Dedata would still not be part of the family. It was safe to say that she was more cautious of those with powers but more afraid of an enemy holding a blaster.

Still despite her fears she still pushed forwards making sure not to fall behind. After a moment and gotten closer she'd peek between the gap between the two shields already able to see bodies dropped. It was safe to say that the element of surprise worked in their favor. A new overlay activated across her HUD, showing electrical currents. There was two spots that seemed to be drawing a lot. The woman had an idea what it was that was inside the ceiling of the canopy just beyond the turnstiles and a small enclosed kiosk.

As Alpha began to breach the doors, Dedata's assumption was correct. Two auto-turrets dropped down with a sound of a barrel spinning up. Without hesitation the info broker initiated a kick slice shutting the two down. "Alpha, gotta be careful buddy.
4TsQGPK.gif
"
For a moment all fell silent as everyone other than Samuel Exel Samuel Exel and Reaper regrouped. Admittedly for her first ever charge into the fire, she was glad no one was injured and in awe with their weapon skills. Still the sight of dead bodies was unnerving but it was not the first time and was something she was slowly getting used to.

"Good job every Kark...
4TsQGPK.gif
"
Dedata flinched at the sound of a blaster bolt being shot off into the air as one of the guards that samuel shot managed to let a round off as they fell unconscious.

Tera could not hold back the snicker at the reaction and the words that came across the small holo display. "Ya good there boss?"

Kilo looked at his sister disapprovingly, even if he found it funny himself his seriousness was on written in how the man held himself. With a quick smack upside the back of Tere's head he would clear his throat. "Pack it in. No time to be pissin about."

Tera rubbed the back of her head having felt the metal knuckles. "Whaat, not my fault the boss is jumpy?"

"Sis, be respectful. We are getting a bonus for this, but if you don't want yours then keep laughing." Kilo knew from seeing Tera give him a death stare that he won especially given that he was responsible for both their credits.

"Sorry, good job everyone, Mai from this point you lead Strike team Hunter, given that I am not a combat person nor am I in a position to see everything behind a screen I am relient on tactical knowledge of those experienced.
4TsQGPK.gif
"

Moving over to the kiosk the door she jacked her datapad in and began to work on opening that door than that of the factory. In moments the door slid open. Several packets of cigarettes was laid on the console along with other personal effects of those that was stood outside. A quick glance at the panel and the many buttons she located the one to open up the front doors the the facility. Though she was not done, as she plugged the datapad into the terminal and downloaded the map of the facility and sent it out as well as turning the turrets controle over to them. No doubt Samuel and Reaper would appreciate the extra firepower.

With not wasted time in her movements she rushed back over to everyone ready to follow behind them.
4rOXvzh.png

The men tried to fight back, the one who had spotted the group was now witness to the massacre of his peers. He tried to shoot back then as soon as the IG droid came into view bolts scorched into his chest. The man fell to the floor not quite dead but his breathing became wheezy and difficult. Where there was not pain was quickly becoming colder, as he looked out to the group of attackers the last thought was why he took this job. Breathing became shallow as his eyes closed for the last time.

The lights inside the facility went from the dim white light to a bright red and as the doors were opened things inside was aerially quiet other than the vague sound of footsteps rushing further inside. There was no way to anticipate what the attackers was here for.

"Eleven attackers. Unlclear who they are associated with. There are some who have displayed their ability to use the force and one of them in the group I am unable to ascertain any information other than a name. Dead data." The monotone voice spoke over the sounds that terminals and machinery made.

The man adjusted his glasses as he stood up from being hunched over a terminal. "Gerrrrr." His fist came down onto the glass surface out of frustration as many insults flew through his head. "The boss had to be away and taken his damn security detail. Going to negotiate a deal with the sith order you will be fine here with the B squad BANTHA SHIT!" He flicked the terminal screen off as the man made his way towards the door locking himself inside.

Tapping the com he connected to the speaker. "There are eleven individuals attacking our facility. Everyone working in the offices you are to remain at your stations or be considered part of the attack. Think of your families ladies and gentlemen. Those of the security detail, remove the rabble."

The digital voice that her helmet had associates with Dedata came through loud and clear, as did the map of the facility overlaid on her HUD. She acknowledged the orders from the Caporegime and the team began to move.

"You all heard the comm, if they aren't at their stations they are after us, continue to check your fire but consider anyone moving around to be a potential thread."

There was a two level gangway that joined the two buildings that they would need to cross in order to get to the next objective.

" Kardek Alpha Kardek Alpha , you guys go up one level from here and cross above our heads, Jenzid Channsalj Jenzid Channsalj you are with me. This bridge is a chokepoint, if it was me, that is where i would hit us." Mairéad would give the rest of them time to ask questions before moving out. Her mandalorian training gave her the confidence to lead a situation like this. She would head out first, switching to infrared vision to counter the darkening of the lights and give her the best chance of seeing their assailants.

The gantry that was about forty metres long with very little cover down it other than several large trolleys of paperwork and computer parts. Mairéad didn't like it, it felt vulnerable but it was the part they had to cross so she advanced, her pistol in one hand and her wrist mounted autopistols fully ready to engage.

<<Team datamine proceed once we have secured the other end.>> she sent through her communicator. The security detail couldn't be far away from them by now and her concerns were met when a small disc came skimming across the ground towards her before exploding with static and filling the room with smoke. Mairéad ducked behind one of the trolleys as a blaster bolt whizzed down the hallway. Her advanced helmet was capable of dealing with the electrical interference but something in the smoke was also affecting her infrared making it hard to make out the opponents at the other end of the corridor. <<Be advised they are using multi-spectrum smoke grenades>> she warned before opening up with her pistol at the incoming fire. She looked at Jen hoping she had a way around the smoke herself.

Kardek gritted his teeth in annoyance at the fact that Mairéad Solus Mairéad Solus was taking lead of Strike Team Hunter. He was obviously much more experienced as a team leader, a fact that Dedata | Celty Ree Dedata | Celty Ree seemed to be rather ignorant of.

Whatever… let's get this over with.

Kardek and Alpha quickly made their way up the stairs and out onto the walkway above the others, weapons drawn and proceeding forward cautiously. As the enemy engaged, so did Kardek and Alpha's jetpacks. The two maneuvered from one position of cover to another, sending volleys of blaster fire into the smoke in the direction of the enemy fire.

"We've got you covered from above, make your move!" Kardek ordered, trying not to sound too controlling in the moment.

As the last guardsman was felled by a Taser Round, the one whom loosed a shot before crumpling to the ground, Samuel would make note of the flinch of the Capo at the head of it all. Keen gaze paired with the observational capabilities of his suit meant subtle motions and details like that were far, far easier to pick up on. He did not deem it as a sign of weakness - in fact, he considered it a good sign. Being tone-deaf to violence wasn’t exactly a good quality. Commlink made it heard that she claimed herself to be more efficient behind the screen. Well, she was in charge of Cyber Intelligence. Perhaps it would be useful to look into the opportunity later. She turned over command to Mairead, which the man did not mind.

Having been perched in an overwatch position of the facility, he shifted from his vigil seeing as there were no more outside threats for the moment. “Moving to regroup,” Presumably with the cold Chiss woman in tow, he would begin to step away. It was then he heard - “There are eleven individuals attacking our facility. Everyone working in the offices you are to remain at your stations or be considered part of the attack. Think of your families ladies and gentlemen. Those of the security detail, remove the rabble.”

Gaze widened, as he heard this. Damnable folk, using people like fodder while dangling their livelihoods over their head. Thankfully--
“You all heard the comm, if they aren't at their stations they are after us, continue to check your fire but consider anyone moving around to be a potential threat.”

What? He blinked in surprise, as that was the sound of Mairead consigning anyone moving about inside to a very unfortunate accident. Flick, activating his comm, <<Mairead, there might be panicking folk inside - no one wants to be trapped inside a shooting, security on their side or not. It should be set to stun or something nonlethal - it’s not as if the security here is very well armed. By the time they wake up, we’ll be long gone.>> ‘Gorian,’ as the others knew him as, was upset with the turn of events. <<Miss Dedata,>> He would direct his query, politely yet urgently, <<If we are trying to help innocent folk being exploited, would it not be prudent to exercise a tad bit of restraint? These folk might be desperate - even the security. I can’t imagine there’s a whole lot of other decent job opportunities, around here.>>

Regardless of the answer to his request, he would watch as Kardek and Alpha sprang into action, using Jetpack maneuvers that caused Samuel to tilt his head some as he watched in interest. So they were Mandalorian - trained by one, at the very least. He wasn’t sure if the Beskar chestplate was merely scavenged or stolen, but it seems the man was indeed part of his own ‘Clan,’ now.

He was swift to move, merely jumping off of the elevated platform, with Reaper likely soon to follow. When he landed, systems mitigated the fall with ease, the shock of it being absorbed and dispersed. As he passed by Saraiya Darkstar Saraiya Darkstar , there was a gruff comment, over, "Have no worries, miss. I'll be watching our flank, and that includes your squadron." Attempting to impart words of comfort - she seemed like she was distressed, or surprised. The setting on his primary sidearm was flicked to its Sonic Stunner mode. Fine, if the rest wanted their bloodshed, so be it. But he would not partake. It didn’t take long for them to catch up with Strike Team Hunter’s entrance, and it was just as the smoke began to permeate the place. Squint - visor was on the fritz, couldn’t detect chit for the moment. <<Be advised, they are using multi-spectrum smoke grenades>>

Ah, smart. That would prove to be complicated, and as sensors strained to get a beat on the assailants, Samuel ducked into what meager cover he could get some ways behind Mairead, with Reaper not far away. It was then he received a notification - his HUD pulled up a Map of the facility, and suddenly showcased new camera angles of the facilities. The funny thing about these camera angles, however, is that it was very clear barrels of turrets were looking in the same direction. Dedata had transferred control of the facility’s turrets to him and Reaper. Though, with Samuel’s armor and systems, he was capable of utilizing them to their fullest. Smart girl. Now she truly piqued his interest. <<Copy that, Mairead. I’m about to create a distraction.>> As it happened, one of these well-placed turrets were on the far side of the gantry, behind the smoke-screen, and next to a squadron of Security officers. <<Aim to wound and stun, please. Non-lethal rounds, if you can.>> Came his spoken request to the rest of his coworkers, but also the turret, the droid brain embedded in his armor relaying the command as the aforementioned one suddenly came to life, swiveling from its platform in the ceiling to fire upon the legs and arms of the Security Guards that were locking down the long, exposed gantry. This momentarily disrupted their suppressive fire, as bewildered heads turned with cries of pain and surprise. <<You have your opening, Strike Team Hunter.>>

She'd let the smoke do its work. The guards she had restrained fading into the black mist at their feet in silent screams. Her whole body shook with energy at the magickal consumption.

At least these two wouldn't be found.

A shaky breath had her following behind as the lights shifted to a deep red. A fraction of a smile appearing as she pondered lifting the eyepatch. Full spectrum smoke?

They'd have to try harder.

The small glance from Maidréad would be shared before the eye patch lifted finally.

Dathomiri magic at its worst as the irritated looking whites of her eye were outdone by the almost humming glitter of green in that formerly covered eye.

The Dao blade pointed forward as Jen's whole body shuddered. Energy began to drain, the microscopic runes inside of her right eye beginning to illuminate as the smoke poured out and around her.

Time felt slow, the crackling of blaster fire growing angrily in the air with her back popping as she leaned forward. Arm moving back in preparation as the smoke particles began to become more noticeable. The slow string of blasters were her signal as the whisps of brackish green smoke filtered along her body.

An old memory sang across her mind as she put her shoulder forward with a magick enhanced stride. Her foot fell, the distance a quarter of the way gone as she prepared her next step.

She was little more than a dark blur to the naked eye, her body prepared from youth for this purpose. To end lives without mercy, without failure, without a second thought for the highest bidder.

And she was alarmingly good at it.

The memory of training with her mother's coven a sharp reminder of failure in these moments. The constance of violence as her aunts and sisters had pushed her further, farther, faster than even they could manage at times. Her foot fell again, the smoke splitting across her form as she pressed forward once for the third time, nearly finished.

The phantom pain in her hand at being sliced clean off for her failure to properly move this way as a young witch keeping her uncovered eye trained on the sensations of life before her. The smoke behind her billowing out against the torrential air pressure in her wake.

Reattached as but not fully healed, a reminder to remain alert. To remain vigilant.

The final step found her amidst a turret turning on those it had once helped. Aimed low as she remembered the request that had been made. The attention of the defenders slowly shifted to address the dark shape that appeared from the smoke.

Her eye aglow as the smoke permeated the blade and prepared to snatch vitality with each flash of bright Songsteel. A mental sigh found her spinning, her ankle protesting the move at such speed as the blunt backside of the blade swung out for the first guard.

Their arm having reached their stomach in the space of time she had arrived to when her first strike reached out. The blunt blade swung low, connecting with their forearm and rising into their stomach as she felt energy leech away from their essence.

It sang in her veins, powering the magick that kept her a blur as she felt bone snap beneath her hand. Another had raised their blaster almost to chest height, face contorted into a bass filled roar as she dipped behind the first guard, slowly reeling from the broken forearm and swung once more with the blunt side of her blade.

Starting in an downward arc from above her head, the blaster cracked and splintered against the blade before songsteel found upper thigh in their shooting stance. Another bone crunched as vitality seeped once more into her being.

She used the contact to push herself forward into the defenders as her blade shown as little more than a bright flash. Her form a dark sliver of a blur as she struck out again and again, mindful of the incoming blaster bolts.
