STRENGTHS

Outgunned: Thanks to the advanced amplifying chamber and increased energy output of its power cell, the Kusak has an exceptionally high stopping power for a heavy pistol. In addition, the pistol features an over charge feature that allows it to temporarily increase its damage output even further.
Doggedly Stubborn: With a reinforced duraplast frame and cortosis weave, Kusak was built to last. Capable of withstanding kinetic impacts and glancing lightsaber strikes without accruing too much damage.
Suns Out, Guns Out: In addition to conventional means, the Rylith power cell can also be recharged with solar energy, requiring just over an hour of full exposure to become fully charged. Making it an ideal survival weapon should the need arise.

WEAKNESSES

Shotty Workmanship: Due to the overcharge feature not exactly being factory tested and approved, it is highly recommended that the overcharge function be used sparingly due to the excessive heat generated by each shot. As a general guideline, three shots in close succession is a good place to stop and let the weapon cool down. Any more and you’ll render it hotter than a two credit blaster, potentially damaging it irreparably.
At A Glance: Cortosis-weave is only lightsaber resistant to glancing blows. Prolonged or direct contact will damage this blaster without much issue.
Not So Fantastic Four: While capable forty shots to a power cell on the standard setting, overcharging the Kusak will drop this by a neat factor of four.

DESCRIPTION

Named after an intensely loyal canine from dusty barren plains of Lok, the Kusak was designed to fill the necessary requirements of a powerful, reliable blaster that a spacer could always draw with confidence. On the surface, this makes the weapon a somewhat oddity in itself, appearing rather tame and almost mundane in comparison to some of the more outlandish designs coming out of the TOTT Workshop in recent years. Of course, that belies the secondary setting that dramatically increases the power of the blaster bolt in exchange for dropping the rate of fire while increasing the power consumption of each shot.
This is achieved through the combination of the advanced amplifying chamber and the extremely high energy output of the pure Rylith power cell, the latter of which is temporarily ‘overcharged’ to facilitate a more devastating shot. To offset the kickback of the weapon and help improve the overall accuracy in both modes, an autosteady gyro-gimbal was installed in the muzzle of the blaster.
