SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Rylith Power Cells
  • Autosteady Gyro-Gimbal
  • Dual-Barrel System
  • Heavy Targeting Optics
  • Built-in Combat Sensor
  • Adjustable Sonic Weapon; On-Board internal computers allow for the usage of multiple fire modes, and sensors can automatically adjust sonic frequencies based on species on the fly.
    • Sonic Stunner: Non-Lethal alternative, using frequencies that limit pain and prioritize KO time/disorientation, similar to the Sil-50. Fires a bolt of compressed sonic energy that targets the central nervous system. Highly Effective, and can knock foes unconscious for several hours on higher settings.
    • Sonic Blaster: Lethal frequency. Using the same concept as that of a Sonic Stunner, the emitter of the Sonic part of the weapon purposefully shapes each bolt so that the is output solely into the target - and thus does not alert the attention of surrounding individuals and avoids collateral damage. Due to this, it outputs far more Sonic energy than considered typical of most Sonic Blasters, allowing it to be a truly devastating force. The bolts themselves is able to shatter objects, break bones, rend flesh and rupture organs. Survivors experience disorientation (loss of equilibrium), nausea, chance of vomiting, and concussive force that could typically knock someone off their feet or off-balance. The recoil it produces is offset by the gyro-gimbal, thankfully.
    • Sonic Disruptor: Generates a high-impact, disruptive, nonharmonic energy bolt that allows for one to take advantage of low resistances to Disruptors and Sonic Weaponry. The bolt itself necessitates the usage of something to disrupt the disruption (heh) to avoid disintegration, such as an S-30 Retention System, in which only the Sonic energy is left to dealt with - less powerful than the Lethal frequency, but nonetheless dangerous. As such, it is handy for overwhelming defenses against Sonic Energy that didn't quite go so far as to reinforce against Disruptor tech as well.
  • Features a Verpine Shatter Gun - Slug Thrower setting to allow usage of the wide variety of custom-made ammunition available on the market. The Verpine component offers a high-tech weapon that has little-to-no noise, less recoil, and staggering speeds at which the payloads are delivered. Slug Thrower ammunition can be interchangeably used thanks to the flexible design, and while not quite as directly devastating as some Verpine Rounds are, the options offered are highly versatile. And even still, this output issue can be rectified through the use of MK II Cased Telescopic Ammunition, which thanks to the chemical propellant allows most projectiles to reach speeds similar to that of the Verpine. This versatility is especially useful in the situation the Verpine Components are disabled, in which the Slug Thrower mode is one of the few analogue options Samuel has at his disposal.
  • Thanks to the usage of FM-001, more complicated electronics were used in the creation of the robust hand cannon - far more than typical weaponry. This allows for the usage of more complicated custom munitions and Smart Round Technology on the market, and link to other systems through gloves. Typically, this presents features such as computer-assisted algorithms to direct aim and enhance accuracy, ammunition counters, and a variety of other potential modular options.
STRENGTHS
  • Versatile: A Sonic - Ballistic hybrid weapon covers a lot of bases. There are not many defenses in typical armor against Sonic weaponry, and Verpine - Slug Thrower offers plenty of modular ammunition to deal with situations where the Sonic modes don't quite cut it. Whether in a bar brawl or in a more open area, this hand-cannon could likely do a good job. Additionally, the Sonic Blaster has the added bonus of not attracting as much attention - and requires less ear protection for the user due to the shaped bolts.
  • Durable: Robust, with a Phrik-A frame, and a handful of laminates, the XE-72 is extremely durable in just about any environment. This includes a resistance to EMP/Ion Weaponry far more than typical of most weapons.
  • Steadfast: Meant to pierce the toughest of armors out there, this thing packs one hell of a punch, paired with a similarly impressive fire-rate on its Sonic settings. This is not to mention it also boasts impressive range compared to other such weapons that are typically considered strictly close-quarter. Resistance to Sonic? Use the Disruptor. Deals with nonharmonic energy? Use any number of the possible ammunition payloads.
WEAKNESSES
  • Swiss Army Knife: While it does boast a good amount of options, that doesn't stop each respective setting have having their respective weaknesses. Proper ear protection tends to nullify the effects of Sonic Stunners, instead making it more of a serious discomfort than a body-dropping projectile. Sonic Bolts and Disruptor Bolts are still prone to their standard weaknesses, and darts/bullets still need to have a certain proficiency to use - with travel times, physical needs, etc.
  • You Think I'm a Walking Armory?: The biggest issue with physical rounds, really, is carrying them around. While Telescopic Ammunition eliminates a good chunk of the weight, that doesn't stop it from being an issue. Choose what to pack for the trip!
DESCRIPTION
Samuel's weapon of choice has undergone a long line of changes over time. It was lucky he became so familiar with modifying it, to the point it was no longer the simple blaster pistol he once knew - it was practically a new beast on its own by the time he left the armor. And it was much needed - it was another one of the few things that he kept dear to himself. The only components that remain the same is the finish, appearance, and the sensors and targetting algorithms embedded within it.

Mandalorians, for him, were a common sight in the business. He had also dealt with more than enough insane and exiled force-sensitives on both spectrums to grow an annoyance to all involved persons. The Sonic Blaster edits to his pistol were his first answer to the issue after a barrage of his own blaster fire was redirected at him. The pistol is able to comfortably bypass most armors, and bend around lightsabers thanks to the sound waves simply traveling through to rend what was behind it. A disruptor option was added after a significant amount of such technology began to flood the black market - had to stay competitive to be hired, as it were.

Issues came on larger-scale planets, where, after a prevented long-range assassination, he took it upon himself to add a ballistic component to reach more comfortably farther away. It served doubly as a second option to the Sonic Weaponry, of which he was consistently paranoid would one day fail to properly subdue a target due to his current unfamiliarity with such technology. Verpine technology was something he was as equally interested in as Mandalorian technology, and despite the large cost, he took it upon himself to gather the necessary components and see what he could do. Ever paranoid, he even made it so that it could function analogue through the sparse use of slugthrower components.

By the time he left the armor, he felt confident enough in its ability to finally leave it be after giving it a last revision with a more durable frame, faster processor, and protective laminates. It now serves as his trusty sidearm for particularly nasty bar-fights - or for when he goes on the job once again.
