Dark fingernails tapped away at a clothed arm as Jorryn stared towards the sky, irritation marking her face as she stared into the darkening sky. The fire of lasers in the sky marking nicely against a dark canvas of the evening sky. If the Eternal Empire had decided to betray the Sith, at least they managed to pick a perfect night for it. Jorryn dragged her cloak off of the chair in the main Landing Port office, command barker orders outwards as she did so. It wasn't worth ordering every single shot that needed to be fired from this position, her new position as Lord Inquisitor would be far more fitting on the front lines than it would in here.

Of course, she wouldn't go out into that battle alone.

A nod beckoned for a detachment of troopers from inside the garrison, no more than a squad. Dragging attention to herself in the midst of battle wasn't exactly the greatest way to celebrate a promotion, death typically ruining such a nice event. Still, revenge against the traitorous Imperials was always a good motivator for the Sith. Lithe hands pinned the silver strands of her hair up into a tight bun, loose strands no reason to miss a blaster bolt that could spell then end for her. Reaffirming that her equipment lay where it need; lightsaber strapped to her hip and holocommunicator in a pocket, she gave one quick speech to the troopers that were to follow her.

"I'm sure that you have all heard their Emperor's words, the death of the Sith as a force in the Galaxy." A hand stuck to a cocked out hip as she half-heartedly addressed the troopers, a responsibility that she didn't care for taking. Still, an all-out battle was a great opportunity for some no-name trooper to carve themselves a nice piece of the Eternal Empire if they managed a slippery shot at the Lord Inquisitor. Jorryn would rather snuff that possibility. "Unfortunately for them, I don't quite believe that our time in the galaxy is coming to a close. Our enemies are numerous, as well as their opportunities to betray our kindness, but the tenants of the Sith are grounded in our own power. Not what we lend from others."

Truth be told, the Echani was worried about the state of the Empire herself. The circle meeting that Darth Alekto had called surely addressed the issues, but as they were now, their emperor was in seclusion and their enemies were legion. As long as the Echani's neck and position were safe, however, she would continue to fight for the Sith Empire and to fight loyally.

"Now I say we show them how needless they are."

Aaaaaaaaand now Dag was completely lost. Hold? A ceasefire? Was the Jedi crazy? They'd barely gotten inside, the security had already killed several of their own, but now she was calling for a ceasefire? The sargeant was this close to a counter-order, tell his men that their priority was defending themselves at all costs, but then the madwoman yelled for someone named Malicar...

and the enemy stopped firing first.

And Dag wasn't about to be the first Rebel to order the deaths of people who weren't trying to kill them. He wasn't some Imperial, after all. He lowered his rifle and raised a gloved hand in the ceasefire signal. "You heard the lady," he bellowed, "Hold fire!"

The silence that filled the room when the last blaster stopped was deafening. Dag still wasn't sure he wasn't about to earn himself a shot in the head when he rose from his makeshift barricade, rifle at rest. The Jedi, though, she didn't even seem to notice. She was pacing in an arc in front of his men, the fingers in her free hand bobbing. The only sounds in the room seemed to come from her--the heavy sound of her breathing filtering through her helmet, the hum and crackle of that lightsaber (which was red, kriff it all, what kind of Jedi used a red karkin' lightsaber?), the sharp tap of her boots against the marble. When she reached him, she stopped and tilted her head up at him; Dag shifted uncomfortably under the sudden scrutiny.

"With all due respect, lady--"

"Five dead, three injured."

Whatever Dag was about to ask flew right out of his head. "What?"

"Five dead, three injured," The Jedi repeated quietly. "Take advantage of this time, Sargeant. We may not get another, and..."

The helmeted head swiveled to stare down the Chiss in the center of the room. Dag's eyes followed, understanding starting to form at the sight of his expression. "Things are about to get very bad, I think," she said, and Dag's blood went to ice. Without looking away, he gestured for the medics to begin their work.

Something about this was wrong, wasn't it?

****

Na'an's brain felt like it was spinning in three directions at once.

Malicar being here, that sent her worries from a gut feeling to something provable. But what did it prove? She and Leigh had done their due diligence on the Chiss after their...uncomfortable meeting on Lanteeb. Malicar was a businessman--not military, not Sith, historically loyal to nothing but whatever made him the best profit. If he was here, that meant whatever was going on was something he felt he could control well enough that he'd be the one pocketing the credits at the end. He wouldn't be here if he had any hint of a clue that it'd be a danger to him.

She picked her way towards the table in silence, taking in the mess her squad's entry had made. Mixed among the rubble were items that shouldn't be there, if this place was what they'd been told--tiny morsels of what looked like shellfish, bits of cheese, a bottle of wine resting in a puddle of its half-spilled contents. She knelt and raised her boot, picking the squashed remains of an oyster off the heel of her boot with her free hand.

"This is going to sound foolish to you, probably," she said when she rose again. She held up the squashed oyster to Malicar, squeezing the slippery mass between two fingers. "But I think I've got a couple questions that need answering, Malicar, and I need them answered honestly. What are you doing here, and why, in gods' names, are you doing it here?"

She had a feeling she already knew the answer.

"As you command, my Lady," the image of the Sith Knight said, bowing before vanishing away. If needed, she could recite the spell again, but the vilip choir would be sufficient for now. In the back of her mind, she could sense her Master issuing orders for her fleet to begin the preparations for the jump to hyperspace from their position at Bescane.

"What are the Triumvir's orders?" Commodore Velfin inquired.

"Prep the autocannons to fire on the underside of the main enemy ship, launch fighters," she said. "The Triumvir desires to see their ship in flames."

"New contacts! New-Imperial designs!"

Ah, it started to become clearer now for her and for her Master. The Eternal Empire wanted to impress the New-Imperials, strike up a stronger alliance with them. But if they were so willing to turn on the Sith, and so suddenly, then the New-Imperials would be fools to trust their erstwhile new ally. A Sith needed a healthy dose of paranoia to survive, and her Master had never trusted Tacitus since he had appeared to help the Jedi during Operation: Eclipse. Well, it seemed that mistrust was well placed.

"Autocannons priming, five seconds. First flight of fighters launching. Deploy them in a defensive screen until we receive more orders from the Triumvir. Targeting acquired. Placing priority markers on Eternal Empire ships. Secondary markers on New-Imperials, seems they are moving to engage Ordo's forces."

In the back of her mind, her Master was observing the sensor readouts through her eyes, giving the tactical situation to her own commander. It would be several minutes before they arrived, but Darth Arcanix's task force would not be arriving into the system unprepared.

"Autocannons ready! Fire!"

How do I always end up in these awkward situations…and the day was going so well—sort of.

He glanced over at Karisa with a look on his face that said.

Well, look at the situation I got you into...again—sorry.

Malicar knew he had given her that look two dozen times, apologizing for compromising situations he put the Chiss Ruling House noble into--and she told him this would be the case in this meeting. She was right...again. Go figure...

Aurarii stayed behind cover during the brief engagement. Malicar did not think any less of him—Malicar respected him a great deal because of his brain, not his brawn. No, to the Chiss, the interruption did not feel like he had any upper hand at all in negotiations. He was just relieved that Moff Tithe called off his security droids.

There was this awkward, tense moment, where all the forces just looked at one another—some hoping that a bolt would be fired, but most, seeing the tactical situation for all sides, knew that it would be messy and wanted no part of further hostilities at this point. His ISSG team were criminals and enforcers, but they were also seasoned combatants. He knew they were looking at this situation as a deathtrap—so was Malicar.

For many moments, his glowing red eyes studied Vidalu as she spoke. As she prompted to her team to see to her injured, Malicar gestured with his hand. The ISSG security detail, went over to their two injured to see to their injuries. Two more were clearly not going to get up again—ever. That meant that there were only two relatively healthy, two injured and two dead.

She asked what was going on. The Chiss looked down at his chronometer. He was trying to time the response from Sith assets to reinforce the Moff, based on the Moff’s communique. They did not have much time…no time to dally.

Looking back to Vidalu, he lowered his hands slowly. The Chiss deliberately made a show of putting his sidearm back in its hidden holster at his hip. He did it more for the benefit of her team than for anyone else. Malicar answered her calmly, “Interstellar Shipping contract negotiations. It is an amendment to an existing deal with the Sith Empire. While we knew there might be an attack from some sort of ‘cultists’ that are enemies to the Sith Empire, I am quite sure they did not expect to be fighting your force, which are enemies to the Eternal Empire…”

It was all starting to make sense to the shipping tycoon. It was a clever ploy by Emperor Tacitus, pitting both of his enemies against each other. But the lack of consideration for Interstellar Shipping was…insulting.

Bringing his thoughts back to the present, he glanced down at his chronometer and back up to Vidalu and stated, “I am afraid we have all been deceived. Time is not on your side, Commander. I would probably get your team and egress as quickly as you can. I am quite sure the Sith Empire reinforcements will not be as gracious as our host, Moff Tithe…”

Looking over at Aerarii, he requested, “Aerarii, can you give the Commander of this team specifics about the enemy the Sith believed they were fighting—short version for the sake of time, of course…I am quite sure this team has a ship to catch.”

The rage in Taozi's eyes calmed as Sterling pulled her against him. Her hands ceased their shaking, and she let go of a breath she didn't realize she was holding. The Galaxy was a cruel place, Taozi knew this. She had seen it with her own eyes, just how cruel the powers that be could be.

First at Taanab, as the Confederates slaughtered Clan Mortui for defending their own.

She almost fell with them.

Then, the horrors of Concord Dawn that still plagued her nightmares.

The hands of Sith knew not of kindness, neither Confederate or Imperial, and it was that revelation that spurred Taozi ever further in her mission to spread mercy to the galaxy. To give aid to those in need. To heal those hurting. To save those suffering under the iron boots of their oppressors.

She did not need to contribute to the cauldron of rage. She had to be calm. She had to breathe. She could not fall and lose herself to her own rage. For her Clan's sake. For her son's sake. For her student's sake. People needed her to be their leader. Their Alor.

She could not do that with a rage clouded mind.

"Thank you, Sterling. I can get... lost in my anger."

Taozi sighed, and the tension in her muscles relaxed. She lifted a hand, and placed it over Sterling's own that rested on her shoulder. What a failure of a teacher she must be, if her student must comfort her.

"Hopefully we do not need to wait long for the signal to begin evacuating the injured. The longer we are left waiting, the fewer that will survive."

"Hyperdrives on all ships are prepped for jump, Alor."

"Good. I want the fleet to jump into the system as soon as our signal is given, and then scatter. We will not focus on firing offensive shots at any Sith Empire vessels, but if we are attacked, return fire. Relay those orders to every ship in the fleet."

"Yes, Alor!"

Lori tightened her grip on the hilt of her blade, glad that it's zig-zag edge held well against Kyrel's own as he brought his against hers. Unlike normal blades, hers would always redirect the abgle of her opponents. Such an advantage was also a disadvantage for her, for it made it more difficult for her to maneuver. Yet she did her best, thinking back on the lessons that the Mandalorians taught her as well as her Dad Veiere. She's small, yet quick. Her opponents will always use their size and strength against her.

"My brother?"Lori had no idea of the history between Kyrel and her family. As far as she knew, it was just the two of them that had ever had an encounter. But that didn't really matter now. She had to push all of that aside and focus on the here and now.

Kyrel was strong, much stronger physically and in the Force than she was. They both knew it. Surprise and speed were her only advantages. Gritting her teeth as she pushed back against his blade, she quickly formed a ball of Force Light in front of his eyes and shut her own as she made it explode in front of him, hoping to give him momentary blindness so that she could create some distance between them. "Need someone to light your way through the dark?"

Karisa let out a breath the Chiss didn't know she was holding when all sides shooting at each other complied equally with the request for the cease-fire. Oh, thank the Force! Now it allowed cooler heads to navigate the unfortunate situation befalling all of them in the conference room, hopefully.

After the dust of the fray settled, it was amazing that more from the groups represented in the now destroyed room, the Rebels, Interstellar Shipping, the Sith Imperials, and her - the lone Eternal Empire loyalist, didn't have more casualties. In fact, Karisa did a quick check of herself and finding that the rare vintage bottle of wine was still intact upon her person as well as neither Malicar nor Moff Tithe appeared to be worst for wear. The broken bottle with its contents spilled on the floor must be one that was left on the tray of the server droid that was crushed by a beam from when the roof was breached? Probably.

The battle surgeon in her though wanted to run out to help those wounded who were laying in the debris and pools of their own blood, but the Baroness of Verkuyl knew her position in all of this was perilous at best; the woman's survival riding on the tip of a double-edged sword. Lean a little too far one way or the other and the diplomat's life would be null. It probably already was, but one could hope and strive for a fortuitous plan to avail itself. Oh, how she should have trusted her instincts and stayed home.

The Chiss noblewoman caught the apologetic look the shipping tycoon flashed her. Yes, Karisa had told him so, but she wasn't going to put salt into that wound just yet. There would be time to do that for them later, hopefully. If he and herself had just listened to her instincts. Ktah! He'll just be in and out, he said... The man always did like quick deals that were in his favor.

Karisa couldn't help but overhear the audio-only conversation between the Moff and another Sith Imperial who seemed an authority figure elsewhere as the sector governor was crouched down beside her behind the overturned table. An appreciative nod was given to the other diplomat for trying to stay calm and keep the peace - at least for the moment...

Who knew though in the next few minutes to come how it would turn out as the Rebel Leader walked towards the table through the food mess splattered across the once well-polished marble floor with an eye only for Malicar on the other side of her it seemed. It really was a pity they hadn't gotten to enjoy the prepared delicacies. But the way the lightsaber-wielding rebel was using the squashed oyster that was pulled from the bottom of her boot as an example of displeasure with the charismatic male Chiss, one would gleam it was way more personal than just business between the two - to that reason it was still a mystery, but sure to be unearthed as the day was still young.

In an amusing way, if one could call it that, it would be a pleasure and enlightening to see how Malicar squirmed and wiggled his way out of this development and the mess he'd gotten himself, no them into. It also would be telling to see how Moff Tithe reacted since she literally and figuratively was caught in the middle. For now, she would be mindful, listening thoughtfully, and observing with a keen eye all the players involved. It was Karisa's best bet at this point to remain quiet and neutral until her choice cards were presented to her.

Pfft, men?!

Ship: YT-1760 (In signature)

Amazingly the small starship slipped under the assembled fleets around the planet, and had avoided being chased down by interceptors! The YT-1760 impacted the the atmosphere like a sack of bricks dropped off a balcony. Flames erupted from around the hull of the light freighter. The orange lens of Ru's cybernetic eyes was feeding him rudimentary navigational data - nothing too extreme - so he knew he was on the right track, roughly, to the space port. Then there was a horrific rumbling "Ah kark..." a screeching of metal, and one flaming debris trail later, and Ru's starship was now a few pounds lighter.

"PL Space Port, YT-1760! Clear the pad!" there was no response "Space Port, YT-1760, answer!" again there was no response and the space port was in view. The area was deserted but Ru could see several skirmishes below as he burned through the sky. The port authority was most likely in hiding or evacuated by this point. Ru reached for the reverse thruster lever and pulled it backwards, causing the entire starship to lurch forward as the thrusters did their best to slow the descent. Another rumbling and screech of metal tore through the ship's interior. A rush of wind hit the courier, pulling him closer into the seat. He looked over his shoulder and saw light from where the exit ramp was supposed to be.

"Dragon Energy! Dragon Energy!" he shouted to himself looking forward again as he yanked the starship's controls upward and while flipping the power switches on his dash cutting the atmospheric engines and moving to repulsors only. The starship's speed tanked as did its altitude, due to the increased drag and non-aerodynamic surfaces. The space port's rim was destroyed and he could see, as he descended , that there seemed to only be rubble on the landing pads. Ru Comet began to straighten out the plummeting starship as now it was essentially spinning straight downward. The controls were stiff and unresponsive, the cockpit shuddered dangerously. The YT-1760 pulled up just a few hundred yards above the surface of the town "You're the bes-" Ru's celebration was cut short as the light freighter was hit by some form of ground to air ordnance.

In a burst of flames the ship fell to the rubble laden pads, upside down, the edges of the hull crumpled or sheared off completely. The cockpit's viewing ports smashed.

Wails of blaster fire were heard at every turn in the depths of the thick jungle. Orders bawled from unseen faces while footfalls from shrouded bodies left prints in the soft soil. The cluster of alien flora served as both shelter and obstacle for Cara and her chosen ward. Hidden beneath the fleshy leaves of a squat tree Cara held the Mirialan, keeping him silent while waiting for the stray scout trooper ahead to leave. The sights of the trooper's scanner fell upon them. He waved it back around and continued walking.

The dim flames of Cara's eyes were the only sign of her concentration. It had been an effort to keep a grown man quiet as he realized his condition, but spoofing multiple devices to read the same signal in unison? Actually quite easy. Dealing with people had always been harder. Living beings brought more than an uncomfortable amount of variables, the one struggling under her grip proving no different. Didn't he realize they'd fallen into a war zone? Could he not hold himself back from screaming even for that current moment?

"He is a civilian, not a soldier. Even soldiers cry. Even I've--" she shook away the thought.

Over the screech of blaster bolts and heavy artillery Cara listened to other noises, the blips and tics of technology that the invaders had introduced into the natural terrain. They gave her enough information to form a rough, living map of the forces surrounding them. And yes, they were surrounded. The doctor leaned closer to Chuza's ear, her eyes unmoving from the trooper's last location. The Mirialan fought the grip over his mouth and pulled at his captive wrists. Tears stained his face, the initial shock of his situation replaced with desperation.

"Do you recall your banter with Dr. Azziri before our crash? Comparing time away from home, I believe." she asked him with a subdued tone.

His eyes were wide and fearful, and to Cara the man looked more like an animal in the lab than any sentient being. His breathing had paused after the question, resuming with uneven puffs as a sliver of humanity returned to him. He nodded in reply, his resistance to her hold slacking.

"You know I will do what I can to get you out of this situation. I make no guarantees, but I need you to help me. Remember what you can go back to," the tilt of her head sent an unspoken question as she glanced at her hand covering his mouth. Chuza shut his eyelids to focus. Within a minute he nodded and Cara's hand withdrew.

"You've not seen your boy yet, correct?"

He swallowed the lump in his throat and sniffled as he searched his chest pocket. A small holodisk was produced, and though the image projector had been damaged it produced a wavy image of a young woman holding a toddler.

He managed a weak but teary grin, "N-not yet. She says he's...just like me. God, I hope not."

She allowed him one lingering stare at the image before wrapping her hand over the disk, "Something you will have to discover on your own. Now, stay silent. Be vigilant. Use your hands if you see something."

Pain marred his face and doubt advertised in every crease as he tried to listen. His fumbling fingers placed the holodisk back in the pocket and he balled his fists. He gave a shallow sigh and nodded.

"Thank you. For doing this."

Cara turned to let him grab her shoulders as he pulled himself onto her back. Her arms supported the majority of his weight as she stood to look around once more.

"Don't thank me yet."

At a light jog she began to make for the only nearby structure with Sith-Imperial forces, the place they were supposed to have been before all of this.

The observatory.

”Watch out for storms and lightning” warned her prospective disciple gently.

She watched as the child flew into the air as she walked on ahead. In the Force she felt the dark side users, the soldiers, Xanesh felt where they were going, so also that the woman from Echan was on their side. She released negative emotions, she let them redirect them back into the environment, filling the space with it, the Force present in everything collided with the dark side forces flowing out of Xanesh. First a cold wind blew, then thick storm clouds began to appear over the jungle also at the outpost and the landing zone. A minute or two later, by the time they reached the landing soldiers and landing military units, lightning had already crossed the sky and there was thunder.

Dozens of lightning strikes the dropships and soldiers, disrupting the soldiers of the Eternal Empire. Xanesh stopped here, now, unlike Wayland, she did not let control of the storm out of her hands. As a result of the energies swirling in her and around her, she rose to about thirty to forty centimeters from the earth. Lightnings danced around her as well, her eyes glowing purple from the large amount of force flowing in her. Raised her hands above her head, stretched out her fingers, around which lightning also zigzagged. As if she were a lightning rod, she collected lightnings from the storm.

As they did not have too many units here, she tried to detect through the Force a place where there were fewer TSE’s soldiers or droids, but the more units from the Eternal Empire. As soon as she managed to find this place, she directed the raging force of the storm to that part. And struck down hundreds and thousands of lightnings on those who were there. Trusting that she can kill as many enemies as she can.

Finishing his conversation with the Moff even as Ingrid playfully rubbed the back of his neck, Adrian chuckled softly (with audio off, of course), holding her closer even as he heard the Moff's response. Everything under control? Going by the violence of the explosions, they were clearly under attack, but Mr. Tithe was known for his diplomatic aptitude. A ceasefire, perhaps? Better not send in rampaging Sithspawn, then.

"Impatient, are we?" Meeting her lips with his own, he gave her a long kiss before breaking off with another chuckle.

"Consider that the appetizer, then... and you know what they say about science and experiments."

Reluctantly stepping back, he frowned slightly. "I suppose we better focus on getting out of here first, what with it being entirely possible that your, ah, compatriots are tying a noose around this little outpost." Leaning closer again to whisper into her ear, his mischievous tone returned. "That being said, it's always good to have something to look forward to, no?"

She didn’t want this war…

She had to hold herself from chuckling at Moff's response, when she heard the “everything under control” part. She was a little shaken by the suffocated chuckling, but she was glad Adrian had pulled her even closer to him. It was almost close enough to touch the Sith Lord's side-face with her lips, but in the end she did not do this. However, Ingrid continued to tease, but she could no longer answer the question, because no one bothered them and they finally kissed each other.

She returned the long kiss passionately, during the kiss she even caressed Adrian’s nape and she snuggled to her partner. After the kiss she hadn't stepped away yet, she remained there hugged, Ingrid watched the chuckling man with a mischievous smile.

”On your side, it’s hard to stay patient” she teased and purred. ”Appetizer, I think I can live with that…”

This time it was her turn to laugh softly, she looked into Adrian’s eyes with sparkling blue eyes and smiled flirtatiously. Ingrid knew exactly what to say to the man about it. Se has always been great at such little games and she loved them

”That the further you study it, and the more you practice these, it will be better and the better” she whispered.

After that she let the man step back, and so did she. Ingrid nodded at her lover's words, meanwhile she had already reached for her helmet and weapons to take them with her. In an instant, in front of Adrian's eyes changed from the former flirtatious, playful woman to the warrior and assassin, who used to be on the battlefield or at work.

”Agree, and I agreed with your moff in this. You can’t stay on this base anymore. Even if the Ultranauts have surrounded the base, I will still get you out of here” she said.

There was no concern in her voice or a clue as to what they had done with the moments before. As Adrian leaned closer again, she was a little surprised, but did not protest. Even a quick smile is allowed, and responded in a similar style.

”Oh, you can be sure of that handsome! Are you almost wondering how you could take off my armor?” Her voice was still playful at the time, but she continued seriously afterwards. ” I know we haven't started your training yet, because we spent all our time in your bed. But I hope you can use lightsabers, even if you missed the lessons at the academy. Because I won't let you out there without a weapon.” With that, she extended her lightsaber shot to Adrian.

She didn’t want this war…

Orion watched intently as the treacherous mongrels began their march. Like a flock of birds the soldiers protected the Jedi. They protected him like a false king, one that had no throne, not here; not ever. At least, he was no king to Orion. He was a nuisance, an infection, a virus that had only one cure; death. The only thing that bothered Orion more was the Jedi's presence. They were told of cultists, Rozzums that would make their last ditch effort, not filthy Jedi. It made no sense, unless it was all a ruse for something bigger. Orion contemplated on this for a fraction of a second. The thought left him enlightened. If this was a more organized attempt at toppling the defenses of the outpost, Orion would eradicate the threat regardless. No quicker than his Sithspawn jumped into action did the sound of a new voice begin to erupt through the comms.

"It's...It's some of our own! They-" The voice boomed through the receiver underneath his cloak. The connection dying through a filtered haze of blaster fire and explosions. The words slipped into the back of his spine.

Was it true? Did others break away from the true Sith teachings to entertain another distraught voice, unheard by those in power? It wasn't a shocking thing to consider. At times in the Sith history, betrayal lead to a strength. While unfortunate, it was a necessary cycle. One that continued to snuff out those that remained weak within their ranks. Still, Orion wouldn't stand for it, especially with aid from a Jedi. If the opposing forces were locking hands with Lightside scum, nothing more could represented them weaker. To think that some of his own brothers and sisters cared to associate with them after everything that had been done and still would be done, it was unforgivable.

He would deal with those that tried to pull the wool over his eyes soon enough, but first he'd watch the feast unfold before him. The dog-like creations learned to pack hunt, each of them, while different, retained canine mentality. They were refined and loyal subjects to Orion. With Essonian soldiers guarding their fearless leader, the Warghests and Force Hunters split to the sides. Cover fire from Gill Shrewd and his men continued to lay it on heavy. The low rumble of one Ghest forced the thick black fur to rise, it's speed unmatched as it ripped the earth from below up into the empty air behind it. From a distance it looked like a normal wolf, only its distinctive features became apparent as it reached the first two soldiers on the ledge of the bridge. It roared viciously before snapping forward with its large form of maxillary teeth. Voraciously it sunk them into the back of the Essonian's neck. The shimmer of dark red was lurched up into the air as the beast retracted. Heaps of skin and tissue finding its way into the mouth of the Sithspawn. The second soldier turned, confident in his ability to fell the beast. He rose his weapon and let out a guttural war cry.

Only this time the poor trooper was snatched from the comfort of the ground. The once menacing effort bestowed upon the warghest was now frozen with fear. Tendrils from a Qyazik Dzirir caught him of guard as he was slowly lowered closer to the ashy beast. A bright blister trap starred at him, the slow movement that lingered deep inside awoke. The seal broken from the vascular tension of its thirst. The battle-hardened vet could only do one thing, struggle. Snapping out of the fear he frantically tried to shake himself free from the tightly wrapped tendrils. But it was too late. The blister exfoliated outward almost disintegrating inward before a sharp whistle befuddled the entire area. A stream of dark energy pulled violently against the soldier. If any screams were made the vacuum silenced them, before the body fell heavy onto the floor and the blister began to regain form.

It was gorgeous, the display his beasts began to paint among the unwanted visitors. Orion grew more frustrated at the progress of the Jedi and his astute followers. They would breach the entrance from the bridge in mere seconds. Orion looked to one Warghest fairly close. The command in High Sith slipped from the cold lips of the Darkside warrior, vile intentions behind it.

"Tapti' Kia alpha!" Orion shouted the order. The hulking beast jumped and slid to Orion's side, a stream of smoky black ash following behind.

Now the Jedi would come. The force crackled with intentions of stirring uncertainty, but pools of the dark energy around Orion blanketed him like a warm shield. Then it happened, the concentration of the living force began to build up around the Jedi. The once faint whispers growing to a thunderous storm. The cerulean glow tore through the air, until the clapping boots of the Jedi slammed into the floor beneath. A small crater splintered outward from the sheer power behind the imbued jump. The Jedi convincingly held the blade outward, pointing it in the direction of Orion's own. The gesture imploring Orion to attack.

Instead, words were thrown from the Jedi's mouth. Banter was always a useless tool when not used appropriately, it made Orion disappointed in the adversary. Although, Orion welcomed it with open arms.

"In the name of the Ashla, surrender,"

Orion sneered at the comment, only a fool would kneel to the stout devotees of the light. The only thing that caught the Sith by surprise was the mention of Ashla, but cared little for its significance.

"You and your soldiers have no need to die here, and I have no desire to be your executioner. Call off your warriors and these...things, and I will allow you to leave in peace."

Orion couldn't believe it. The man was truly lost. Words wouldn't make any man with enough sense to lay down their arms. For a promise of peace no less. Orion's eyes widened at the the thought. They always claimed it, didn't they? The Jedi and their valiant attempts to form peace across the galaxy...and look what it brought. Destruction, Confusion, Death, Immoral Choices and Arrogance. Its all they ever stood for, they were false lights in a world of darkness.

And Peace...

Orion felt the twinge of hate and disgust deep in his soul as the thought came to him. He knew it more now than ever. To stand before him and act like peaceful resolution was the way. No. Not today, Not ever.

"Leave in peace." Orion lightly smiled, his eyes turning to hateful daggers. "Peace is lie!"

Orion placed his hand gently on the beast and tightened his grip around the cold metal hilt of his saber.

"Come Jedi, there is no need for you any longer."

If I Had A Heart
0.3km away from LZ...

Faceless split up from us without uttering a word, I came to expect that. The man-monster was a wild card. He was a terrible soldier, orders escaped his ears but he was an formidable warrior. Blessed with the Force, our galaxy's version of space magic, he was a trump up the sleeve of Gladius Company. A dozen or more yards further into the jungle and ahead of the main force of the Company, I ordered Hooks to split up too. Cover more ground that way, risk be damned.

The tracks I uncovered through the thicket and damp mud led me to believe I was hunting a single prey. A prey with a heavy step. Heavier than your usual Legionairre sabatons. The prey's stride was short, too short for something this heavy. Could be any alien or could be wounded but I didn't notice any staggering pattern in their walk. Overburdened?

Maybe. Maybe not.

I came to a halt where the tracks had stopped and became two pairs. The new pair of tracks were far more common for someone not in your usual military grade gear. Spacer's boots, sort of. Maybe light, hard to tell. Mud's softness made the tracks not completely discernible. Every little unconscious twist of the ankle while walking (something atypical for the rigidness of a soldier's footwork) warped the mushy ground making it hard to distinguish. I looked up ahead and saw the tracks turn into one heavy pair once more. Odd.

My trek led me safely through the jungle, only a local fauna startled me as it swung down from a tree. Nearly shot that sunuvabitch. Would've blown my predatory cover like an idiot. Mentally cursing the animal and threatening to skin it, turn it into a designer's shawl and present it as a Sithmas gift for Nima Appw'rii Nima Appw'rii , I carried on.

The hunt finally bore fruit when through the grapevine I caught the sight of my prey. Alive. So, Faceless hadn't beat me to it this time, or he'd gone somewhere else entirely. A mystery. The prey was a black-red armored goon carrying a man in somewhat civilian clothes; explained the tracks. I silently procured myself towards a slight mound to their right and lied down. Visor fell on the sights of the scope. I gave it a fleeting thought - the wounded man and his savior was of no burden to us. At least now. I squeezed the trigger firing the carbine knowing that fully well I could've spared them...

...if I had a heart.

As Wraith Squadron continued to deliver punishment against Thaelius Ordo's Fleet , the Sith-Imperial Navarch Princps moved forth to execute a Marg Sabl a strategy Marlon Sularen recognized as the Sith-Imperial Vessels opened fire. While their intended target where Marlon Sularen's Flagship and two main Fleet Carriers , those ships were far behind the New Imperial Formation and thus did not take that much damage. Marlon Sularen smirked however , as the Sith-Imperial Counterattack was a pathetic one.

By executing the Marg Sabl , the enemy had angled it's hulls against Sularen's Fleet as a means to allow their fighters to deploy uninterrupted however with the Classic Imperial Design it would require leaning the bridge of the Ship sideways towards Sularen's Fleet and thus exposing the top of the enemy's bridge to heavy punishment and Marlon sought to exploit this. Without hesitating he gave a simple order. "Have the Predator fire all three of it's Proton Beam Canons and the Intercessors fire their Plasma Railguns followed by a volley of Assault Concussion Missiles and target the top of the bridges of each enemy Star Destroyers. I want them destroyed"

Whatever the enemy commander had in mind was useless for their desperate counter-attack was in vain as within seconds , the Predator and the 4 Intercessors at the front of Wraith Squadron's Formation opened fire on the 2 Sith-Imperial Star Destroyers with the Predator firing it's 3 Proton Beam Canons against one of the ships followed by the Intercessors firing their Plasma Railguns before unleashing their Advanced Concussion Missiles along with the Mag-Pulse Warheads of the Predator intending to destroy the bridges of both Sith-Imperial Star Destroyers and proceed to wipe out the rest of the Fleet.

Marlon Sularen's Fighters however remained in reserve. Regarding the outcome of his strike if he was able to take down both Sith-Imperial Star Destroyers then that would leave the enemy Flagship vulnerable to a starfighter attack and if the Sith-Imperial Star Destroyers remained Commodore Sularen would only bring additional firepower from his carriers to deal a guaranteed death blow to those Star Destroyers. Victory would soon be his and Marlon could feel it. This time he would win and he loved winning. It was now only a matter of time before the Sith-Imperial Fleet reached it's breaking point and was defeated. It was only a matter of time.

  • The Predator fires it's three Proton Beam Canon at a Marr-II Star Destroyer followed by each Intercessor firing it's Plasma Railguns on both Marr-II Star Destroyers.
  • This is followed by the Predator unleashing it's Mag-Pulse Warheads at both Star Destroyers followed by the Intercessors firing volleys of Assault Concussion Missiles
  • The Phaetra-Class Fleet Carrier and Endurance-Class Pocket Carrier take Moderate and Light Damage to their shields respectively
  • Fighters remain on standby while the Bellidux-Class Star Battlecruiser prepares to join the fight.

The fleets have not yet come to blows. This may prove ill for the plan. The Sith could easily take out the runners if they put their focus on them. The only good part to the events so far were that the runners were still too far to be seen as a proper threat. The drama of this was appetite engaging for the young Hutt Lorda. More food was wheeled over to Broka on a tray that was designed to fit around his throne and body for times like this. He continued to watch as if this was a play. Though, this play could hurt his treasury if all goes wrong. The promised reward will never be worth a destroyed fleet. The shame alone will be unbearable among his fellow Hutts.

A reprieve in gathered breaths. It took me a few moments as I sucked down the stale air from my rebreather but I managed to even myself out and get an understanding of my surroundings. We'd crashed but there were still a good few of us left. We had to regroup and get on the move quick or the bellowing smoke from our knocked out craft would act as a beacon for our undoing. The Sith Legionnaires and their dark masters would be afoot quick to assail us. Move. Always keep moving.
"Lieutenant Hraskinn, sir! Sergeant Tom Sykes, third section marksman, reporting! Are our comms working, sir? The Sith have some kind of weapon at the observation post, maybe we should call an artillery strike to neutralize it, sir."
Sykes spoke to me. I turned to him with that same glaring gaze of foreboding crimson though between the two of us, it might've been no better relief than to see the eyes of another Ultranaut in the fray.

<"Copy, sergeant."> I sounded out. Making way behind cover I peered through the mirage of darkness around us in the jungle before I dropped a holoprojector by my knee. I needed eyes. A holomap displayed in shimmering blue distortion, dragging it along until I peered upon the defoliator, I could feel the dread alarm sound out in my body. The very image of what could be my soon undoing if I didnt act quick enough. Patching through to the gunline, I made my request.

<"Hammer battery 3-1 this is Penitent Actual, do you read?"> I said through my comlink, my voice was stern, placid. I couldn't show fear or reluctance, not for my men. Displaying anything but calmness, as cold as it might've seen...would be odd, to them at least.

<"I need a mission, ten rounds total on hex grid E-4 south by south east if possible. Target should be Sith-clanker armor. Defoliator."> I patched through, I could only hope they could get their scopes on target.

<"Co@p%$y, Pe$n^it#en@t. W&e!'ll d*r@o!p t#en on it."> The battery sounded in a distorted reply. Comms were jammed but usable. A brief respite. I was already rearing in anticipation of the gauss rounds to thump down over the target. After that I propped myself back up, taking the holoprojector and using the butt of my rifle against the dirt to lift myself up before I cradled it in my arms.

<"They'll be hitting it any moment now. We need to be on the move. That anti-air needs to go if we're going to get any more down to the ground. Sykes, brother. Have you counted your unit? How many are left? If you've got the numbers, I want eyes on the AA that got us so we can sight it in and hit it with artillery or hell, move up to take it over."> I sounded out. I could only hope I sounded confident. I was, in their ability. Even so, I began to overthink the possibility of a sudden end.

<"For the Empire Eternal, Sergeant. Regardless, take all you need and hit that gun. I will move up with a section my own, try and divert the attention from you. Maybe drag one of those Sith out of their hiding."> I said. As much as I postured, I hope no Sith came. Even so, reminding my self of the stakes of what I fought for, who was waiting for me seemed to do well in calcifying my fear. Even still, had to keep moving.

<"Strike fast, strike hard."> I said, repeating the New Imperial Captain's mantra.

Forward, only forward.

The leader of the inclusion force - who was aquatinted with Malicar Malicar - enquired about his business in the Sith-Imperial outpost. The Chiss explained that he was negotiating a commercial contract, and advised the attackers, who he described as enemies of the Eternal Empire, had been deceived.

Confusion flooded over the Moff’s face. ”Huh?” he mouthed to himself. Sensing that it was safe for the moment, Aerarii rose from behind cover to try and figure out what was going on.

While some of the group wore pieces of the distinct armour of the Eternal Empire, Tithe very much got the impression that their uniforms were improvised rather than issued. Neither did they appear to be the alleged cultists who had been targeting the outpost.

“W-w-we were expecting an assailment by cultists,” Tithe fumfered. “Worshipers of - now let me get this right - trans-dimension beings…? I apologise, I’m not learned in such topics.” He didn’t raise his hands in surrender - how unbecoming! - but he did make sure to keep them away from his body. “Unless there are any objections I’d like to invoke immunity - I’m an unarmed non-combatant after all, a minor functionary, here to transact commercial business.”

The Moff’s tactical comlink, still clipped over his ear, continued to provide updates from the battle. Legionnaires supporting Apprentice Orion Darkstar Orion Darkstar reported that they were engaging a group of enemies combatants led by a Force user. Beyond that, the conflict sounded to be going in favour of the Sith-Imperials.

“I appreciate you’re no fans of the Sith-Empire,” Tithe said to the leaders of the rebels. “By if you were inclined to help us with that little situation,” he motioned out one of the shattered glassteel windows to the raging battle between the Sith-Imperials and the Eternal Empire. “I may be able to arrange safe transit off this world.” This could play very well for the Moff - the recruitment of allies to swing the tide of battle any landing a lucrative contract with Malicar. His poor fortunes since Mygeeto might be about to turn.

Curtis smiled and moved further forward, knowing that Lori could look after herself for the moment. Something was playing on his mind though, like the Force was tugging at him. He shrugged it off, there was a lot going on so it was only logical that his senses would be confused.

Heading through the trees, he caught sight of the observation post. It seemed as if the party had started without him. Keeping low, he unclipped his saberstaff and continued on.

As the temperature dropped because of the cold winds, her hair on her arms stood as shivers ran down her spine. It was not just the cold but the wind would push her becoming a fight against nature. A fight she had played many times with varying results. Darkened clouds rolled in around Teresa swirling, violent and demanding. The woman was in the epicentre, with a thunderous roar and a striking flash of light Teresa knew she had to get out of the thick of it. Folding a wing to her chest the wind would push her into a role as she plummeted towards the ground. She could feel the friction of the wind pounding against her face her eyes narrowed to keep some visibility. Both wings once more opened up angled to get lift under the thick black feathers. There was no device telling her the altitude. Like a bird she had to feel her way in the air.

The ground came closer and closer till finally she began pulling up. Teresa's eyes locked onto a group six armored soldiers firing onto the front line of sith troopers. Her face scrunched up into a scour as she firmly took hold of her lightsaber in her right hand. As the woman came but meaters of the soldiers her wings dramatically angled harshly bleeding enough speed not to break her foot as it planted square into the chest of one closest, knocking him backwards. Keeping the remaining momentum her body continued into a sidewards flip as the lightsaber ignited with a hiss and hum. Guns turned quickly onto her as a volley of bolts flew at her. "GET HER!" one shouted as the woman dashed to the side and lunged forward to one that wore a medics patch. Her hand gripped onto the man her feet planted onto his hips as the saber drove through his chest. With another dash upwards and backwards from off the medic now collapsing she'd move over the top of the four below. A crackle of blue energy lept from nail to metal nail and shot out arching between the four. It only killed the one it made first contact with but to the rest would feel like a more powerful taser rushing through the body.

It did not take more than a moment for the three to recover and the one she had kicked at the start had recovered too. Once more shots hurled her way and she was no master with a lightsaber just enough to know how to swing it without removing her own limbs. Two shots landed into her abdomen being soaked up by the leather however the heat of them still pushed through causing a strong pain. Yet it was nothing compared to the one that caught her left shoulder. The smell of burning flesh filled her nose and the pain made her bare teeth. "AGHHHHHHHHHHH!" She screamed in pain in anger as her hand pushed out pushing the three in front. Not allowing the opportunity of the one behind her to take shots at her wings she spun around her hand flipped to palm up. The guy would immediately feel burning in his legs and feet, a sensation that came from extreme cold, The armor began to frost as the blood inside his body crystalized. Teresa's hand flipped once more making a tight grip gesture. The sounds of ice shattering sounded out as the man slumped to the floor only been held together by and underlay.
