Io Veterans are House Io members who didn't split off from the faction as the horrific consequences of the Cult of the Brain Demon influencing Laertia came to a head. Possibly among the most skilled and experienced Force Hunters of any faction in the modern era, Citizen-Soldiers gradually earned the fearsome reputation they gained through repeated skirmishes and full on bloodbaths with an often uncanny skill at fighting or surviving opponent who could and often did kill their fellows. True believers in Laertia Io and the Cult, they have staunchly stuck by her in the aftermath of a devastating civil war, keeping House Io on life support as they fight in a galaxy that has seemingly chosen to bring the hammer down on their leader...

-
- Combat Function: These soldiers specialize in fighting against large numbers of opponents, whether solo or in groups, with an emphasis on hunting and slaying enemy Special Forces Units and enemy Force Users, and can operate in nearly any hazardous environment
- Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): None
- Droid Support: Io Veterans usually have support from extremely dangerous Nuetralizer Units, each specialized to assist them in combat, medicine Communication/Diplomacy, or Engineering and repairs, or even disposing of enemy Force Users
- Psycho: These are elite veterans of House Io, once among the craziest, most unpredictable, and most vicious of The Minor Factions. Every last one of them is capable of brutally killing vastly larger numbers of even experienced soldiers in fits of blackout psychotic rage that was trained into and encouraged by Laertia's Droid Children through the use of excessively lethal weapons and honed aggression training, maximizing the application of violence to take on many kinds of very deadly opponent. An individual is often so deadly up close larger numbers will often try to keep their distance or resort to ambush tactics. They display a horrific tenacity in the most severe hazardous environments imaginable, able. There is nowhere they are not willing to fight or pursue an opponent
- Panic Inducing: Over the decades, House Io survivors gained a reputation for cruelty and ruthlessness, that, combined with focused explosions of direct violence, have made even relatively small squads a potential source of anxiety and dread for even other veteran units, as it is well known that their faction is willing to deploy extremely dangerous, painful, lethal weapons along with notoriously inhumane tactics to kill opponents, often relying on some of their more specialized droids to assist. Lesser skilled squads may potentially simply retreat rather than pick a fight with even a lone example, and even units of similar size, experience and skill may potentially think twice before attempting to engage even a depleted squad. To make matters worse, a typical squad is almost always accompanied by a Brain Demon Cultist, enhancing the threat they represent with the Dark Side of the Force, able to use spells and rituals to supplement already lethal combatants
- Tight Knit: Alone, a single, fully trained Io Veteran is always a danger: With a full strength Squad, they potentially pose a threat to multiple platoons of less experienced soldiers. At Platoon Strength, they can potentially pose a deadly threat even to larger, just as experienced units. If in even larger groups, entire cities may be under threat, and they have a good chance of laying waste to an area the size of a small valley or even potentially outright burning down a city. The Cultist serves as a major morale booster to squads, and often commands during special operations
- Fearless: Veterans will fight anyone and anything that picks a fight with them, no matter how powerful or how much larger the threat is. They will fight it solo or in groups, with no weapon or armed to the teeth. They are extremely difficult to affect with Force Illusions, Force Fear, Force Horror, Force Insanity, Tear Knowledge, Mind Tricks, Force Persuasion, Torture by Chagrin, Torture in general, and can even resist high strength applications of Drain Life and Death Field due to having such strong wills for a brief period, and have been known to keep fighting at a psychotic level even if fatally wounded. In short, if you get into a fight with one, only one of you is potentially leaving.
- Mage Killer: House Io Citizen Soldiers were trained to fight and resist Force Users every day of their existence. Their leadership was dominated by those who actively encouraged them to research the subject on their own, and all of their training was led by droids specifically built to kill Force Users in particular. A Jedi Hunter curriculum was worked into the public education system from Kindergarten to College. They know things about killing Jedi and Sith that would surprise not just Mandalorians, but Veteran Sith Assassins as well as Jedi Shadows at them having such extensive academic and practical knowledge. They shine in engaging heavily combat oriented Force Users such as Jedi Weapon Masters and Sith Marauders or their lesser equivalents, and have a better than excellent chance of killing either in direct, one on one combat, either if solo or in groups. They possess an encyclopedic knowledge of Lightsaber Fighting Styles, the many variations of Lightsabers, as well as each variant's weaknesses, along with being able to cross evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each variant paired with a comparable style, and are skilled in dismantling custom lightsaber fighting styles after a few minutes exposure. They are extremely skilled at defeating lightsaber users whether at ranged or melee combat, and often wield both energy and slugthrower weapons specifically made to defeat Force Users and lightsaber guards. Even if armed with an ordinary rifle, they are so good at shooting through lightsaber defenses that even veteran Soresu Users wielding not one, but two double bladed lightsabers may potentially be unsafe if fired on by a given Veteran. That's not even getting into their droid support, each armed with deadly anti Force User weapons, with each squad having their own Chaplain Neutralizer to help engage particularly powerful Jedi and Sith Opponents. They are each skilled in Teras Kasi. Io Veterans are so skilled they can instinctively dodge or avoid certain telekinesis based Force Attacks
- Elite Killer: Not only are they excellent at killing Force Users, they are great at guessing the tactics of and slaying enemy SF Units, and in fact, hunting such units is their default behavior when no enemy Force Users are present. Lone Io Veterans are deadly enough to engage Jedi Knights being assisted by a small team or even just conduct solo hunts for enemy squads of a roughly similar skill level, even if armed with only their most basic equipment and weapons
- Enhanced: Each soldier received cybernetic and genetic enhancements over the years, making them partly lightsaber resistant, having hidden weapons and able to see in very low or infrared light, and having further enhanced strength due to having both arms replaced
- Versatile: Makes full use of House Military Vessels to project power on the battlefield. They also have a shielded hazmat suit as their default gear, and their anti force users weapons are just as good for killing regular troops
- Radical: A large number of their weapons have a radioactive basis, and they are skilled at focused, heavy irradiation of a single area if need be to kill large numbers of opponents, using the Brain Demon Cultist assigned to their squad to help clear a local area of radioactive contamination afterwards with Sith Magic.
- Front towards enemy: These aren't the type for sensitive operations like diplomacy or long term occupation. These soldiers are there to lay waste to their target, be it a person or a city, whatever it is, and make it back alive in that order.
- Feared: Their horrific reputation follows them, to the point certain enemies fire on them upon sighting
- Cyborg weaknesses: All their cybernetics are vulnerable to Ion damage, and may require specialized medical care not easily obtained in the field without one of their own Medical Nuetralizers. While all soldiers can conduct basic repairs to their cybernetics, their Droid Squad Mates may be needed for more complex repairs
- Organic Soldiers Organic Problems: They still need to eat drink, sleep and dispose of waste
- Training periods: It takes a long time to reach such vet status. They are large enough to replace in an emergency but are generally deployed no greater in strength than a single platoon, with larger units being extremely rare and for special operations against city sized targets. They are almost always outnumbered otherwise.
- Ambush: Stealth Oriented Force Users and Opponents with similar guerilla and urban warfare backgrounds prefer to rely on hit and run attacks
- Cultist Weakness: If the Cultist is killed unexpectedly, their morale takes a nose dive and may become highly disorganized in the immediate aftermath as they scramble to adjust
- Weak: Their shielded Hazmat Suits can only protect them so much from standard forms of damage, barely better than standard stormtrooper Armor
