The Sith Energy Shield first saw action in the Jedi Civil War, and it's design remains a deeply useful, easily understood, and manufactured good for any company focused on protection. It's ubiquitous use and cheap power sources have ensured it's survival even into this era, where far more sophisticated and powerful shielding exists. Sword Herald sells these by the truckload and both Jedi Hunter and Sith Warrior alike swear by them. Among the earliest conformal energy shield designs, they allowed a small squad to survive the brutal assaults of much larger groups and even allowed them a chance to survive a Lightsaber and were once outrageously expensive to reproduce or reverse engineer but thousands of years and new manufacturing capability has caught up with the design, allowing it to be mass produced.
