STANDARD FEATURES
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Small Sensor Profile: The Tra'phatir's sensor profile is far smaller than is typical for a ship of its tonnage thanks to the passive stealth features and electronic warfare suite. This allows it to potentially frustrate enemy targeting and detection efforts.
  • Heavy Firepower, All Ranges: The Tra'phatir's weapon loadout allows it to dish out tremendous amounts of damage at all ranges, though like most of the company's ships, it favors medium-long range engagements more than close quarters slug fests.
  • Advanced Sensors and Communications: The Tra'phatir has a powerful sensor suite that when combined with it's Manda tactical battlenet module gives it considerable tracking and targeting capabilities, as well a notable ability to be able to analyze enemy craft to potentially attempt to ascertain any sort of weaknesses that it might have. Its advanced, encrypted communications systems allow it to stay in contact with friendly forces even in the face of heavy enemy jamming.
  • Advanced Point-defense Suite: The Araniik emplacements on the Tra'phatir's tracking speed, accuracy, and the devastating weapon systems that it utilizes give the Tra'phatir considerable ability to counter enemy missiles, starfighters, sub-capital craft and even small corvettes.
  • Fortress: The Tra'phatir packs all the same defensive measures as the Cabur-class Heavy Frigate only scaled up for use on a larger craft, and also adds on an additional Caritr shield generator to protect the aft hemisphere while another protects the fore hemisphere. It is capable of taking a tremendous beating for a warship of its tonnage, and with both generators in fortress mode, this capability is only enhanced further.
  • Self-Sufficient: The Tra'phatirs salvage and repair/support foundry modules as well as it's ka'ra'vhetin aquaponics module make the frigate almost entirely self-sufficient provided it can salvage the right materials from the battlefield. Regardless, they greatly increase the ship's endurance.
WEAKNESSES
  • Limited Aft Defenses: While the ship's aft facing is reasonably well-protected against starfighters and incoming ordnance, more nimble warships of cruiser tonnage and lighter will likely be able to exploit the relative lack of weapons that can face rearward.
  • Main Battery Coolant Reservoir: Due to a lack of space elsewhere in the vessel and to remove the need for a vast network of pipes, the main coolant reservoir for the main battery is mounted in the fore portion of the hull underneath the main guns. A shot that breaches the forward hull and ruptures the reservoir will not only deprive the main battery of additional coolant, but will cause structural and armor plate damage as the cryoban escapes and super cools the material around it.
  • Limited Ventral Defenses: The ship's relative lack of weapons mounted and facing the ventral approach, an advantage which a canny enemy with a maneuverable enough ship could potentially take advantage of.
  • 'Fortress' Mode: Only with all power from engines diverted to shields can the Caritr shield generator activate its 'fortress' mode.
  • Full Power to Maneuvering Array: With full power to the maneuvering array, the shields do not have enough power to stay active.
  • Friendly Fire: Careful use of the cluster bomb launcher is required so as to not friendly fire friendly starfighters, which can be difficult in particularly chaotic close quarters engagements.
DESCRIPTION
The Tra'phatir was designed for use by the clans of Breshig and Strill Securities by Breshig War Forge Consolidated as a versatile vessel fully capable of engaging a wide variety of targets both larger and smaller than it as well as it's own peers, without compromising on the two core pillars of Mandalorian starship design; resilience and firepower. The class's name was derived from both its hull shape's resemblance to an axe head as well as its versatility and relative lack of finesse compared to analogues developed by other shipwrights. Whether serving as an escort for larger warships, leading smaller warships into battle or valiantly taking on enemy vessels on their own, the Tra'phatir is equally at home, and it is for this reason that it is the sole cruiser design utilized by Strill Securities.

The Tra'phatir's main battery consists of a trio of UAC-01S Ultra-heavy Accelerator Cannons, easily capable of doing massive damage to capital-grade vessels several times the Tra'phatir's size. The size of the vessel however, requires that the battery's coolant reservoir be mounted to the fore of the vessel, just below the guns. A shot that breaches the forward hull and ruptures the reservoir will not only deprive the main battery of additional coolant, but will cause structural and armor plate damage as the cryoban escapes and super cools the material around it.

The rest of the ship's weapon systems are no less impressive, with four MMOL-03C ordnance launchers with a total of twenty assault-grade missiles per launcher, eight dual super-heavy accelerator cannons and eight dual super-heavy class-D disruptors cannons providing the main bulk of fire against enemy warships supported by sixteen dual heavy accelerator cannons and disruptor cannons. The ability of the aforementioned guns' to sacrifice range for firepower with their rapid-fire mode allows gives the Tra'phatir hard hitting firepower whether in a long-range duel or in a close-quarters slugfest. The high damage potential of the guns allows the Tra'phatir to punch above its weight, potentially even against vessels with advanced defensive measures. Few of these weapons are able to face the vessel's aft and dorsal approaches, which is something that a canny captain will do well to remember.

Serving as a defensive measure against incoming ordnance and an offensive measure against starfighters, sub-capital craft and small corvettes, the ship is equipped with sixteen starship-variant Araniik point-defense emplacements, with two in the ship's aft hangar and the remaining emplacements spread across the hull. A pair of PCBL-01 point-defense cluster bomb launchers provide close in defense against starfighters, lightly armored larger sub-capital craft and incoming ordnance, though care must be taken when using the launchers in close-quarters engagements with friendly fighters in close proximity.

The warship's advanced targeting systems give it the ability to put its considerable weapons complement to extremely effective use. The ship's Manda tactical battlenet module greatly enhances its targeting and tracking capabilties but more notably also assists the crew by analyzing enemy tactics and potentially developing a counter for the crew. To be able to coordinate with other vessels outside of the Manda tactical battlenet, the ship possesses and advanced communications suite that allows it to stay in contact with friendly assets even in the face of heavy enemy jamming.

Like the company's other vessels, the ship features a lightweight but tough Stesr'gar frame, lined with thermal gel and Agrinium, finished with Stesr'gar hull plates and a Stygian-triprismatic polymer-Stesr'gar composite armor. A pair of Caritr shield generators, one covering the fore hemisphere and the other the aft, adds another layer of protection for the cruiser as well as a means augment the vessel's weapons, propulsion and other systems with energy absorbed from enemy weapons fire. Countermeasure deployment is handled by a network of CL-02 launchers, which furthermore serves to augment the tactical options available to the crew. Rounding out the ship's defensive suite is Ori'gayusr electronic warfare suite, which when combined with the cruiser's reflec coating can frustrate enemy targeting and detection at medium and long range, though are entirely insufficient from preventing detection altogether.

The ship features twent four Chekar boarding/drop pods, which can also ferry the ship's onboard tra'verd contingent to hostile vessels and back during boarding operations, but also houses on board a squadron G-02H Vuhyr'galaar heavy gunship for ferrying personnel and cargo, especially to and from the surface given the vessel's inability to make planetary landings. These gunships can also help screen the vessel against enemy fighter craft in the absence of any other friendly craft capable of doing so.

To increase the ship's endurance as well as better provide for the crew's needs on long deployments, the Tra'phatir is equipped with an aquaponics system as well as a salvage and repair/support foundry. The former allows the crew to grow their own food. The system is entirely self-sufficient once running, and can direct the crew to repair any damage or correct any other issues should any problems arise. The salvage module means that the crew doesn't have to let wait for salvage vessels and can make use of the salvage themselves. This has the additional benefit of removing clutter from the battlefield that could potentially allow hostiles or other ne'er-do-wells to avoid detection.

The Tra'phatir provides the same efficient, comfortable crew quarters as the rest of the company's ships, as well as the company's automated tapcaf furnished in traditional Mandalorian style. A full medbay as is usually required on a warship is also included. All of this is done without compromising on security. The company's security system features highly advanced sensors and a number of both lethal and non-lethal defensive to potentially ensure that should intruders bypass its numerous physical security measures they can be dealt with swiftly. To round out its security features, the ship features a full-sized brig for a warship of its size to be able to handle overflow from other ships or to handle temporary prisoner storage and transfer on the rare occasions it is operating on its own.
