“Um, Lirri, is it? Do you know what you're doing?” came the unsure voice of the warehouse manager, as he looked over the newest member of his team with a tired concern etched over his features. The office had hired some hopeless employees in his time here but all of them had been at least able to power on a pallet truck.

Lirri Rourke, or more accurately Sam Rodarch was forced to bite her tongue as her obvious lack of warehouse skills were called into question. Brow furrowed and familiar frown lines began to surface upon her face, but mercifully her annoyance remained in expression only.

“Wha'do you reckon?”

Okay, her tone wasn't great. Abrasive actually, the manager thought as he kept a mental note of this for the woman's probationary appraisal.

“Did you read the manual?”

A grunt. Fists clenched and unclenched several times over as the urge for violence continued to grow within Sam's mind, a sensible yet small voice at the back of her mind screeching for serenity as the manager continued to pick.

“Yeah,” Rodarch lied in an all too defensive manner, “I jus'...” rusty cogs were grinding, building rage hoping to jam her words and resort to violence, “...learn better by seein',” things kept turning, “an' doin'.”

The warehouse manager sighed (causing a small vein to bulge upon the Mandalorian's temple) as he wondered what bright spark had hired this absolute grapefruit. This was important cargo and the arses parked in seats upstairs had sent him this to work with? Unbelievable. This politically correct nonsense had gone too far. Now he was all for women's rights in the workplace but this obvious equality hire was complete and utter bantha crap.

“I see.”

And it was bantha crap, just not in a way he would ever expect.

Sam wasn't here to load cargo onto freighters, she was here to protect said cargo. However, the truth created far too many questions and in the name of subterfuge came Lirri Rourke, warehouse gal and brand new hire on the day of such an important job. The woman was clueless as to what strings had been pulled to allow this to happen, or why anybody thought she was capable for such a job but the promise of a fight was enough to have her agree to it.

This now was a regretful decision.

“Why don't ya show me how this thing w-”

“The pallet truck.”

Eyes flashed with violence for the briefest of moments before settling back down again to just regular annoyance.

Rodarch reiterated, this time through pursed lips, “Why don't ya show me how this pallet truck works then?”

Agents of chaos might be tiptoeing, Uriel was more like hammer footing to patrol around the area if that was a thing. The ground creaked underneath our little HRD dreadnaught drone, weighed down both from being a durasteel killing machine, and her very heavy armor she was ladened with. Taking the prototype designs that archangel had been engineering, and planting them at Apex so they would be developed for her had been a clever ploy toward the coming age of steel.

On the so-called corporate payroll, really a front for the shadowrunners, Uriel might be the only one attempting to be extremely visible. Passing

Noah Gloom on her route, she didn't give anything away, just a hollowness behind the eyes that never stopped searching. Uriel wasn’t the subtle or the out of sight and mind type, you were supposed to see her, which gave others opportunity... @Darkwire

On top of her armor she wore a blue security jacket, black jeans and combat boots for a civilian corpsec appearance. Helmet retracted to show her face, her body had never fully mastered attempting to look human, although outwardly her skin looked like she was a young girl, her movements were too smooth or too controlled. On loan to Mr Black from Archangel, or more precisely planted into his security today to oversee the shipment and gather intelligence.

Her menacing heavy bolter braced to her hip turning to scan the area with her. Truly not a weapon to ignore. Walking in full view of everything on her patrol route, she wasn’t hard to miss carrying this much hardware. Following a systematic patrol around the shipyard which seemed to not vary at all. If the other security around here knew she was an HRD they either didn't care or didn't want to care.

No one had been spotted yet but with the amount of scanning equipment uriel was packing in that armor and hud, it was a good thing she had the helmet retracted to blend in!

Scherezade motioned for

L8R to come up from the crouch. They had some walking to do, which was sort of strange. In similar locations she'd been at before, the crowds didn't really exist. But she could feel them, living beings, walking all around the yard. It felt almost like a village of itself. And yet, she knew that not all those she felt were ones that were actually relevant to her. While normally she couldn't care less about collateral damage, they were not on home turf right now. They were here to do something that was technically illegal in every barbarian and more advance civilization across the galaxy, but they didn't need local police powers after them as well because they accidently shot a homeless person.

"Butt explosions and boredom," she repeated her mission mates, "Sounds like a fun Saturday night out with the girls."

Grabbing a small scanner device from her pocket, Scherezade began to run it on some of the freighters. So far, nothing. Little did their merry chaotic group know though that they were slowly approaching where

Noah Gloom was, and all those who were standing sufficiently nearby.

"Who do you want to attack, anyway?" she asked

L8R as the three continued to advance, "Can you tell those Darkwire shmoes apart from those whose lives suck so hard that they live here?" Turning to

Sasmay Cull , her grin widened, "Whose butt are you planning on throwing a grenade at?"

Frankly, the three did not appear as any sort of professional troupe in that moment. Scherezade, careless as almost always, wasn't even bothering with lowering her voice. Everyone who wanted to eavesdrop was welcome to, and the SIthling hoped that this would entice the Darkwire people to show themselves a touch sooner.

Her blades longed for a stab stab and a cut cut.

Beltran made the group of would-be wanderers as they entered the section where the Darkwire cargo was being loaded. Two women and a droid. He was still too far away to hear them speak without mechanical aid, but as they moved closer to where

Noah Gloom sat begging for creds he had them figured by their body language even before the woman who seemed to be the leader ran what Beltran's HUD scanner determined was a scanning device over the various freighters being loaded.

One might wonder why Beltran could take so much information just from watching the way they walked and talked, but Lorrdians like him were natural readers of non-verbal language. In fact, long ago they had created an entire language out of subtle body movements. So Beltran knew that the woman with the scanner was the leader because the others deferred to her. Remaining half a step behind or yielding to her any time she took a step into their path, or the way anytime she spoke both of them listened immediately as if whatever they were saying or doing in that moment wasn't as important as her.

People were easy to read, even when they pretended not to care who was doing the reading. Oh yes, the Lorrdian had picked up on the subtle way in which the leader was pretending to be not subtle. Waving her scanner in full view, laughing with the others while every muscle in her body was taut and ready to spring into action.

"

Project Uriel ," He said keying his comlink and closing off the vox modulator on his helmet so that his voice only sounded within the helmet's confines. The female shaped droid killing machine had passed his position a few short moments before, patrolling along her preset route. "The three behind you, two human females and the droid. I believe they are part of the Chaos team." He transmitted the video feed from his helmet, suspecting that the droid would be able to decode it easily. "The one with the scanner appears to be the leader. I suggest you approach and ask them to leave. I can cover you from my position without giving myself away."

To the others, some who he saw like

Noah Gloom or Shira Varanin he'd seen moving passed in the same direction Uriel was moving a few moments before, he said. "Everyone else, I suggest we wait and see what they do and not give yourselves away unless they attack."

Beltran made sure to keep his tone neutral as he spoke. In his other lives as a military officer and shadow CEO, he had gotten used to giving orders. But that wasn't what he wanted to do here. Darkwire didn't have a hierarchy and Beltran was very much one of the new guys here. But he did have experience in these kind of operations and wanted to share his thoughts before things devolved into chaos. He knew how important it could be to open an engagement the right way and how much help it could be to them later.

Arial laid on her belly, overlooking the freight yard from the top of a nearby building. After all couldn't be too close. She had her BCR-x13 out and was watching the containers and its guards with close attention. It was time to protect them. Since no one had reached out to her to help transport the items, just to guard. It was boring but it was work. Who would even want them, just machine junkie parts. She moved the scope from area to area, looking for anything out of the ordinary. This was probably going to get ugly fast but so far so good. If only it could stay like this. She heard the radio come in and replied. "Roger Roger, my sniper is trained on the leader."

Sasmay snorted at the thought of anyone actually catching a grenade from behind. They had some on the Junker that she had seen and played with, but found that she tended to overthrow the blasted things.

"More like catch a chit ton of shrapnel from this." She shrugged her shoulders and the weapon whipped around in her hands. It became a walking stick quickly, not wanting to wave it around just yet amongst their group. It wouldn't be too accurate in these pathways, but it would make heads duck. For a moment at least. "Haven't got used to the little balls of fun just yet."

Her eyes moved with the scanner in the woman's hand, frowning at the ones they weren't taking. She wondered for a second if anyone would come around. A grin forming as she looked around them, not particularly looking at anything but waiting for something to start this fireworks show.

L8R stood up, collapsing the bowcaster into a staff and slinging it across his back. His eyes scanned the crowd as he walked along behind them, looking a bit dejected.

"How should I know? I have never encountered a schmoe much less anyone from Darkwire. Might I remind you I was stuck on a moon for a few centuries."

He glares at some passing peasants, his eyes flickering.

"Why not just kill them all? All meatbags look alike anyway. That way you can be sure." He paused to eye

Noah Gloom suspiciously. Things had changed in the 400 or so years since he had been tasked with guarding that giant cheese wheel. At least this was a little more interesting... or it would be if they would let him slaughter someone.

When Liberty Rivers was reassembled she wasn't the woman she remembered herself to be; more specifically she was a flash memory of her consciousness twelve weeks prior to her death. Everything after that was blank, Hacks ran her down on what had happened on Denon. Her vaporization and Hacks' subsequent arrest. Deep down Hacks knew this wasn't the Liberty she remembered and never would be, but she was remarkably close. The real Liberty had died on an empty street, in a pile of trash, refusing to give up without a fight.

The past two weeks since had been fraught with stress. CorpSec was bearing down on Darkwire with increasing fervor as a new detective was on the scene. The very real threat of the Corporate dog soldiers was causing strain on the network as shadowrunners were hunted down and killed. The dwindling numbers in the underworld mean't Darkwire needed to expand their cloud of influence to worlds such as Frego and Iphigin who had a long history of underworld activities from which Hacks could draw upon, reeling in new generations of shadowrunners.

Then came the job on Iphigin in suspiciously good timing, while she held no love for KV-N1 she had to appreciate their information on a hit. A load of freight containers being transported to Hutt Space with premium cybernetics, the type of stuff that could give Darkwire an edge in their market. It came as no surprise to Hacks when news through the grapevine on Cryptnet informed Darkwire KV-N1 had also sold the information to an enigmatic group known as the Agents of Chaos. "Great," she remembered breathing in frustration.

Twelve hours ago Hacks had personally led a team of shadowrunners to locate and secure the freight containers for impending shipment. She herself had inspected the goods herself and found some highly illegal augmentations, it was no wonder the Hutt Cartels wanted them. She herself had picked through arm cybernetics, replacing her lower arms with ones that had hidden Jaeger VB-113's built into the forearms. With thought alone her hands could now peel back and two blades slip forward.

Since then Hacks had taken a vantage point on a nearby building and was accompanied by the Outer Rim gunslinger Liberty Rivers. They rested on a stolen CorpSec speeder bike, this particular model had been modified and the speed inhibitors and remote engine cancellers torn out. High above the twinkle of distant worlds and bursts of light as freighter engines shot across the stars. A maze of freight containers lay below, sprawling out as far as the eye could see.

Noah nodded as he watched the woman drop the chit into his can telling him to watch out for the rain. "Then we will see how the bird flies." He responded carefully taking the can and pocketing the chit. He then dropped the can back where it had been and continued the spiel in his gravely voice. Most didn't pay much attention to him still carefully avoiding the poor beggar.

He then heard the man he had been sitting across on his comms about the group of three approaching. Noah saw two females and a droid. They all looked heavily armed and armoured. Exactly what he had expected however not what he had hoped for. They almost looked like the people from the corpos. The ones who tried coming in and wrecking his clinic. The ones who always left very quickly afterwards and the ones who never found what they were looking for because Noah was a good doctor and a great liar about his patients.

Now he had to continue lying and pretending to be lost, which he was just a couple of days ago anyways so it made it really easy to continue pretending like he was still like that. He noticed the droid looking extra closely at him so he picked up the can. "Please Sir Droid, Just five credits." While he did that he was able to look a lot better at the leader with the scanner. She had lightsabres on her belt. He knew it would give him away but he needed to make sure he was right so everyone could act accordingly.

So he carefully reached out with the force and felt her in the force. She was dark, very dark, darker than the acolyte he had fought on Noverskaa. She also felt cold, too cold. He withdrew from probing her shivering. As he thought about how to tell everyone he switched on his comms and said as careful as he could "Miss are those lightsabres on your belt, I haven't seen such things up close. I certainly hope they aren't as red as a poppy." He hoped that darkwire understood he was saying she was a sith without her knowing that was what he was saying and also that she was too preoccupied with looking to have felt his probing.

Noah Gloom , Shira leaned against a shipping container and called up a holo feed in a tiny AR HUD. A Darkwire associate had sliced a few local security cameras. She took note of the Darkwire comms chatter - potential AoC terroristas inbound, hold fire until fired on - but didn't see a need to acknowledge beyond a comm click.

Until Gloom, who turned out to be Darkwire himself, said the words 'lightsaber' and 'poppy.'

And so, Sam Rodarch learned the fundamentals on how to use a ride-on pallet truck. It turned out to be atrociously simple in the end, which probably explained why the warehouse manager had now taken to talking to the woman very slowly.

“So, let's see if you can take this crate and move it to the loading bay.”

Unfortunately, through this entire ordeal, the Mandalorian became incapable of saying coherent words in the fear that they would be cannoned out of her mouth alongside cursing and threats of violence. All that the manager got in return was some form of constipated grunt of confirmation.

Stepping onto the machine she successfully managed to replicate exactly what had been shown to her in what was little more than kowakian see, kowakian do.

As they made their way to the loading bay of the shipyard complex with Sam now piloting a pallet of two new crates to be shipped there was a feeling that everything was going too well. Mostly because for a brief moment the woman had forgotten why she was here and was ready to settle down into her new grind in the world of logistics.

“Ah, who the feth...?”

So focused upon not breaking anything the manager spotted the heavily armed trio before Rodarch did, hilarious given that he was just doing his job and wasn't actually on the look-out for chaotic individuals.

As he ran towards the point of interest to attempt to shoo them all away Sam hovered awkwardly upon the trucks for a second or two before hammering the emergency stop button, causing all function to cease upon the vehicle and sending it crashing to the floor with a heavy CRACK.

The crates and their contents were fine. Probably. The pallet beneath, not so much. Truth be told, the woman really didn't give a feck.

“Right, clear off, the lot of you!” the manager shouted at the three trouble makers and the homeless beggar before he got close enough to see just how heavily armed three of them were and wisely stopped in his tracks.

“...Ah.”

Time to just turn around an-

A hearty hand slapped upon his back as Sam caught up to him and suddenly the woman seemed a lot keener than she did moments before, almost as if dealing with heavily armed meddlers was preferable to a steady job.

“Yeah! KARK OFF!” Rodarch threatened with a somewhat obscure offensive hand gesture which caused the manager to look at the woman as if she had grown an extra five heads.

“No, Lirri, wait, they have weapo-”

“IF YA DON'T WE'LL HAVE TA USE FORCE!”

Uriel was a ARD-X-1 drone which meant she followed instruction and command, almost faultlessly, except for odd bugs which got into her programming, ghosts in the machine that nobody had been able to fully rid the unit of, she was a model unit. On command she swung her weapon around toward the trio of chaos team members and approached. Lucky for them the command inputted was to ask, not shoot, approaching to be within audio range. The large weapon she had was less useful at this distance but formidable enough. Others stepped forward, and she identified some as unknowns, some as friendlies, taking a stance to side to check anyone as a potential threat to the crates and mission parameters.

Her head tilted sharply, relaying her pre-programmed response, “this zone is for authorized personnel only,” Uriel announced to the trio almost mechanically. Her eyes momentarily scanning target data and tracking for vulnerabilities, appraising the killing zones or non-lethal hits and the range or force necessary to enact it.

And as directed she ended with, “will you leave?” The word was asked as a question to the trio, only with no more emotion than the rest, very literal our HRD dreadnaught. So far they hadn’t crossed her mission parameters. Assessing threat level…. Processing…. interruption

Sam Rodarch and the management approached. Uriel was momentarily distracted, the large gun swinging their way, still in her security uniform of course. “All is well, this zone is secure.” Then she tried to smile to the two of them, “have a pleasant day,” the expression probably looking unnerving at best.

The manager and individual potentially damaging the crates were dangerously close to crossing the HRD’s any means necessary mission parameters, which could still be updated of course on the fly.
