Chapter 1 : First Strike

FINAL DAWN
EREBUS , UNKNOWN REGIONS

Over a decade ago Marlon Sularen , leader of the exiled Paramilitary Faction known as the Directorate forged an alliance with the Nothmiro Federation , an isolationist , militaristic and xenophobic State that claimed sovereignty over the entirety of the Nothmiro System lead by Chris Walker. However when Credius Nargath usurped the Directorate from Sularen’s control , many of his former associates within the Directorate followed suit including Chris Walker leaving Sularen with almost nothing and bitter about this betrayal. While Sularen fell into irrelevance by being reduced to a mere Captain in the New Imperial Order despite once holding the prestigious rank of Duke of the Grayson Imperium (Equivalent to the Rank of Moff) , Chris Walker and the Nothmiro Federation prospered within the Zweihander Union.

Now in the year 874 ABY , Sularen has risen once more , rising to the position of Grand Overseer within the Final Dawn , a Sith-aligned Neo-Imperialist Junta embedded within the Brotherhood of the Maw and accumulating vast amount of power and influence within the Final Dawn itself while Nothmir has been isolated in the wake of the collapse of the Zweihander Union and the integration of its remnants into the Eternal Empire. The Betrayal of Chris Walker and his followers on Nothmir is still a fresh memory for the Grand Overseer despite this having occurred over a decade ago and now as the Maw closes in on Nothmir , Sularen prepares to deliver retribution upon the treacherous people of Nothmir. The Grand Overseer had first attempted to compromise with Nothmir offering them a chance to prosper under the Final Dawn and avoid total destruction at the hands of the other Subgroups within the Maw , but being the short-sighted Chris Walker refused outright insulting Sularen by labeling him as a Sith Cultist.

This will not be tolerated , not by the Grand Overseer nor by the Final Dawn. While Nothmir has strengthened its defenses in the wake of Mawite Encroachment , Sularen has already finalized a pact with Death’s Hand offering them Nothmir in exchange for Chris Walker and any other captured higher-ranking Nothmiro Individual so that they can face judgement from the Grand Overseer himself , eventually securing their support on an Assault on the Isolated Fortress World. Now , the Fleets of the Grand Overseer descend on the Nothmir System arriving at the Planet of Erebus at the edge of the System ready to display their strength and power and show the Nothmir Federation that rejecting the Final Dawn guarantees a Death Sentence. Nothmir will pay for it’s betrayal , and Sularen WILL have his revenge.

Chapter 1 : First Strike

FINAL DAWN
EREBUS , UNKNOWN REGIONS

TASK FORCE RETRIBUTION - GROUP AUREK
Commander : Admiral Kaine Hamilton

A Final Dawn Fleet comprised of 3 Tyrant-Class Star Destroyers and 10 newly-built Ascendant Mark-II Pocket Star Destroyers emerged from hyperspace arriving in orbit of the World of Erebus , home to Minor Mining Installations located on-world and a Major Military and Scientific Installation on Erebus’s Moon. The Fleet itself was led by Admiral Kaine Hamilton , a Loyal and Trustworthy subordinate of Grand Overseer Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen who had partaken in numerous Battles in the past such as the Skirmish over Cormit , the Battle of Jedha , the Battle of Adrathorpe and now , the Final Dawn’s Assault on Erebus. The Admiral had received specific orders to destroy any significant infrastructure on both Erebus and its Moon , Hades as a display of the Final Dawn’s Power and a reminder that Nothmir could not win this Battle.

From the Bridge of the Lead Ship of the Final Dawn’s Vanguard Fleet known as the FDS Invader , Admiral Kaine Hamilton watched as his Fleet began to advance towards Erebus’ moon of Hades ready to begin their first strike against the Nothmiro Federation. In addition to Hamilton’s Vanguard Fleet the Final Dawn had Brought Nacheria Squadron and the Crimson Linings , two of their best Starfighter Squadrons with additional Reserve Fleets in the nearby Sector to be deployed if the Final Dawn required reinforcements. The Subjugation of Nothmir had begun , and the Final Dawn would show no mercy to those born of Nothmir.

The Peacekeeper fleet stood in orbit over Erebus on its sunward side, crews ready at battle stations as their Corps Commander stood on the bridge of his Invictus Class Battlecruiser. The vanguard of corvettes had already confirmed the arrival of Mawite fleet elements. A trio of roughly 1.5k meter capital ships and ten sub 1k meter line cruisers. The Invictus itself would need to prove decisive in this battle, the Gravis and new light cruisers were outmatched in one-on-one combat and would need get themselves into broadside range before doing real damage.

"All attack cruisers report ready commander." signaled Detachment Commander Dropmain, his contemporary in charge of the Gravis cruisers and their escorts transmitted a similar message moments later. The formation began to power around to the voidward side of Erebus and its moon Hades, the Invictus flanked by its heavy and light cruisers while corvettes hung at the rear. The fleet swung around the planet to face the Mawite forces, engines pushing them through the void.

"Snubship wave one you are clear to launch and form up," stated the Corps Commander. He stood on his bridge in a gold and crimson trimmed Flak Carapace, one could never be too cautious during a void engagement and style mattered little when a stray turbolaser shot could vent the bridge into space. N-1b Hawk fighters flew close in to their Gravis Cruisers and Shrike bombers fell behind with the Corvettes, warry of interception. The fleet edged towards extreme engagement range of Final Dawn Fleet. Lance gun mounts swiveled smoothly into their calculated firing angles, missile launch tubes opened to the void, and plasma broadside guns loaded colossal shells.
"Thirty seconds to Lance volley, glory to Nothmir."

The diminutive strand-cast strode through the halls of the Invader with murderous intent in her steps, her piercing gaze directed straight ahead as she made her way towards the hangar bays, where her TIE was being prepared for battle by the technicians. With the exception of the material she had been given during the briefings, the Nothmiro Federation was a state that she knew little of. She knew only that they had been given the chance to join the Final Dawn and had refused it, which meant that now, they would be cleansed and perhaps if they were lucky, remade in the image of the Sith.

And yet, she wondered why they had been offered such mercy in the first place.

In her mind, it was only right that the same cleansing enacted on the Chiss, be done to the Nothmir. While she was pleased to know that the Nothmir would ultimately not be spared, more than a few questions had formed in her mind. What did these Nothmir possess that would make the Grand Overseer offer to compromise with them? Surely whatever they had that might be of some value could be made infinitely better through cleansing and subsequent rebirth. If not, then cleansing alone should have been the objective. Without exception, no stain on the pure galactic order could be suffered to live. The mere thought of offering the Nothmir mercy and allowing them to simply be assimilated, as if their impure stench could simply be ignored or covered up with a more pleasant odor, was one that made the strand-cast throw up in her mouth.

Fortunately, the pure order would not have to suffer the Nothmir’s putrescent effluvium for long.

Entering the hangar bay via the gangway, Electra-12 briefly took in the busy atmosphere as droids, technicians and pilots scrambled from one place to another. Then, descending the ladder into her TIE, the strand-cast flicked through an array of switches on the dashboard, sealing and hatch and bringing the machine to life, a gentle hum manifesting in the cockpit as the twin ion engines spun into activity.

In the next moment, she drove her TIE off into the void, its systems primed like the muscles of a feline preparing to slaughter prey.

TASK FORCE RETRIBUTION - GROUP AUREK
Commander : Admiral Kaine Hamilton
Leader of the Crimson Linings : Baron Wilhlem Vonreg
Main Fleet
Starfighter Compliment [74 Squadrons Total]
Crimson Linings

"Admiral , we have spotted the enemy fleet. One Battlecruiser , Six Heavy Cruisers , Five Attack Cruisers , Four Picket Cruisers and Ten Corvettes. We estimate a total Starfighter compliment comprised of 7 to 17 Squadrons." one of the Officers. At last , the Nothmiros had shown up and it seems that had brought a considerable fleet with them , twice as large as his own Vanguard Fleet. Nevertheless his Fleet had the advantage in terms of the sheer amount of Starfighter Squadrons they had at their disposal not to mention his Ascendant-Class Pocket Star Destroyers had more firepower and stronger shielding then any of the smaller Cruisers within the Nothmiro Fleet while the Admiral's Trio of Tyrants would be enough to handle that large battlecarrier. Normally Hamilton would seek to wait for his enemy to make the first move but in this case , he felt confident enough that his larger force of Starfighters would be enough to deal considerable damage to the Nothmiro Fleet before his own Fleet would move in to finish them off.

"Keep the Fleet at distance from their Forces for now , and deploy all Starfighter Squadrons to establish a Starfighter screen." the Admiral ordered. By deploying his starfighters , Hamilton sought to provoke a similar response from the Nothmiros which would cause them to attack the Final Dawn's Forces head-on. All the Admiral would need to do was wipe out the Nothmiro Fleet's Starfighter Compliment and that would be his priority right now. Once the Nothmiro Starfighters were dealt with , the Starfighters would then shift their focus on the smaller ships of the enemy fleet while Hamilton's Fleet would move in to attack the larger Heavy Cruisers and enemy Battlecruiser a devastating blow , guaranteed to crimple the enemy fleet in any circumstances. Nothmir might have a larger force then the Final Dawn as of now , but the Final Dawn had better officers.

Thus the Final Dawn Fleet came to a sudden halt as it's entire Starfighter Compliment began to pour out from the Hangars of the various Vessels of Task Force Retribution beginning the process of establishing a Starfighter screen in front of the Final Dawn Fleet , which would protect it against enemy starfighters and smaller and agile ships such as corvettes and frigates. This was where the fun began.

"All ships, close formation and ready point defense. Light cruisers, form a cordon and throw up a flak field. Bombers, get to the closest hanger. Fighters and corvettes cover our blind spots." Chris watched as the light cruisers drew into a defensive formation, around and among his cruisers. Fighters and corvettes as well, the latter strafing back and forth to provide alternating firing patterns. The formation continued forward as the seconds crawled by, weapons swiveling to hurl their barrage at the oncoming fighters.

The flak and laser cannons fired first, shells bursting into clouds of shrapnel in front of the oncoming fighters and blazing away at their formation. Assault concussion missiles were launched from silos, flaring between the fleets and towards distant targets. The cruisers and battlecruiser focused their lance batteries on the trio of Tyrant-Class SDs, aiming to flay away their shields before the enemy fleet could reach their own engagement distance. The fleet would do what it could to eliminate the incoming fighters and give themselves time to close to point blank range. Multi-barrel autocannon rounds zipped out in long lines from Vindicta Picket Cruisers into expected interception corridors.

"Expected interception fire contact in five seconds."

She could see the pawns moving on the board.

Positioning her interceptor in formation with Crimson Linings and Nacheria Squadron, the strand-cast gazed out of the octagonal viewport, glowing magenta eyes analyzing the enemy fleet as they moved into close formation. Their defensive strategy mimicked that of the Final Dawn, though they lacked the advantage of small craft superiority, instead relying on picket ships unleashing hailstorms of point-defense fire to offset the weakness.

Already, her mind was beginning to pick the holes in their strategy.

“Activating cloak.” She uttered coldly, her fingers flicking across the dashboard to calibrate the necessary systems, including the semi-active stealth module. Then, in a shimmer of light, her interceptor disappeared from sight, before breaking off from the formation. While the rest of the Final Dawn fighter complement held station, Electra-12 flew her craft along the far edges of the engagement zone, moving closer towards the massed Nothmir fleet in the process. Thirsty as she was for Nothmir blood, the strand-cast had no intention of uncloaking to initiate an attack. Without a distraction, it would only draw attention to her, which wouldn’t be worth it no matter how much damage she might manage to inflict.

After all, in order to be the last and greatest TIE ace of this decaying galaxy, she needed to live to see its end.

"Enemy Fleet moving into Defensive Position" the Tactical Officer said just as the Enemy Fleet opened fire as the Enemy Flagship and Main Cruisers began pounding the Tyrants with their Lance Guns dealing considerable damage to the shields in just a few minutes of sustained bombardment. "Shield Integrity down to 64%." another Officer said , informing Admiral Hamilton of the damage sustained during the attack. Starfighters had also been lost as the Nothmiros unleashed deadly autocannon fire at the Starfighter Screen that was being established by Task Force Retribution. An impressive display of power nevertheless , but still Task Force Retribution remained whole and intact not to mention the Shields of the Tyrants were far from being taken down as the enemy would still have to deal with two other layers of shielding , although each layer would be 50% weaker then the previous one. But still it would take a lengthy effort to take down these Warships and Hamilton counted on his Ships Durability to ensure that his fighters would have as much time needed to soften up the enemy Warships before the Fleet itself would move in to deal the finishing blows.

"What's the progress on the Starfighter Screen?" Admiral Hamilton asked. "Starfighters are still being deployed , Starfighter Screen is only 47% complete." an Officer said in response. With the enemy now on the defensive there was no use for a Fighter Screen for the Admiral. "Cancel the order to establish a Starfighter Screen. We no longer have any use for one." Hamilton said. Taking out a commlink he then secured a link to every single pilot on the field relaying new orders to them. "All Squadrons , you have new orders. SRAFs and TIE Fighters begin conducting attack runs on their Picket Cruisers and Corvettes and focus your fire on structural weak points and all weapon emplacements. TIE Interceptors and Hunters proceed to engage and eliminate any and all hostile Starfighters and Support Craft , it is imperative that we secure absolute Starfighter Supremacy. Chariots target their Heavy Cruisers through
Nova Flares , one Cruiser at a time and make sure to focus all your power on the Shields , same goes for the TIE Hunters." The Admiral then paused before finishing his orders. "Crimson Linings , Nacheria Squadron. Target their Flagship and destroy all of their main offensive and defensive weaponry and if possible their Shield and Power Generators along with their Targeting Systems." The Admiral ordered before cutting off his transmission with the Pilots.

Soon enough the Pilots began executing these new orders with each type of Fighter carrying out their respective task as they launched an all-out-attack upon the Nothmiro Fleet. Even despite the large amount of Point-Defense Weaponry that was prominent with their Fleet. They would still be no match for the overwhelming swarm of Starfighters that would descend upon the Nothmiro Fleet. As the Fighters would soften up the Nothmiro Fleet , the Warships of Task Force Retribution would remain in place waiting for the enemy Fleet to be weakened enough to move in and deal the crushing blow themselves.

Vonreg's TIE Hunter emerged from the Hangars of the FDS Plunderer followed by the rest of the Fighters and Missile Boats that made up what was known as the Crimson Linings , one of the most lethal Starfighter Squadrons of the Final Dawn renown for it's brutality and efficiency and for being responsible for the destruction of more then half a dozen Alliance Warships and Starfighter Squadrons. They were unmatched within the Final Dawn and the Maw at large rivaled only by other Squadrons such as Nacheria Squadron or Sacrior Squadron and were some of the most experienced pilots within the Final Dawn having fought numerous wars before this including the Great Galactic War decades ago. The Nothmiros were no match for them as they had few Starfighter Squadrons and fewer Warships that could pose a real threat to them.

Then from the Comlink within his cockpit , Vonreg received his next orders from Admiral Hamilton. "Crimson Linings , Nacheria Squadron. Target their Flagship and destroy all of their main offensive and defensive weaponry and if possible their Shield and Power Generators along with their Targeting Systems.". Without any response , Vonreg proceeded to head straight towards the Enemy Flagship followed by the rest of the massive 1k+ Starfighter Swarm deployed by Task Force Retribution. Surrounded by the various other Starfighters within the Final Dawn's Task Force it wouldn't be so hard for the Squadron to reach the Flagship unharmed as the other Vessels within the Nothmiro Fleet would be busy fending off the relentless attacks from the other Starfighters leaving nothing to stand in the way of the Crimson Linings.

Thus , the Crimson Linings continued their push towards the Flagship shooting down any Hostile Starfighter that stood in their way , Marlon Sularen had promised them revenge against the Galactic Alliance , it was now time that they repay the favor.

  • The Tyrant-Class Star Destroyers take considerable damage to their Shields whose Integrity has been reduced to 64%
  • The Rest of the Fleet suffer minimal damage to their Shields only losing 3% of their Shields integrity on average.
  • Admiral Hamilton orders his Starfighters to launch an all-out-attack on the Nothmiro Fleet
    • The SRAFs and TIE Fighters target the Picket Cruisers and Corvettes
    • The TIE Interceptors and TIE Hunters target any Nothmiro Starfighter , Bomber and Support Craft
    • The Chariot-II Missile Boats (All of them) begin an attack on Gravis Ceta launching a nova flare against the Vessel with their Assault Concussion Missiles
    • The Crimson Linings head towards the Flagship with the intent of targeting ther main offensive and defensive weapons along with their main structural weaknesses
  • The Rest of the Fleet holds their position waiting for the Nothmiro Fleet to be softened up enough to launch their attack.

"GC to Invictus, shields are critical from those missile boats." signaled the captain of Gravis Ceta, "If they get a second pass we're finished."
"Invictus to GC, cycle inside our flak screen, lessen your fire and try to bring those shields back up." Walker could afford to lose one or two of his heavy cruisers, but he'd avoid it if he could. The tactical and gunnery officers in the pits on his left and right spoke calmly but with urgency, things had truly kicked off. "Invictus to all LCs, keep up those maneuvers and focus fire on those missile boats. 'Vette wings Beta and Ceta move to block their reinforcing squadrons." he was hoping that their Upholder cannons would give them an edge in firepower, at this point he needed to scrap those fighters as soon as possible.

Another officer called out from the tactical pits, "The reinforcing squadrons are heading right for us Corps Com, mixed elements with fighters and missile boats." Walker responded, "Pull three squadrons of fighters in, they aren't going for our light cruisers yet." He watched as the turrets of the light cruisers flung long strings of large autogun rounds out into the melee that surrounded his fleet, intersecting with enemy craft and torpedoes to throw fragments and light into the void. The attack and heavy cruisers continued to let their lances flash out towards the enemy star destroyers, striking shields with yet more flares of light. He glanced at his tactical displays, busy with the tiny triangles and circles that denoted the hundreds of sub-50 meter craft that dueled and detonated in amongst his force. Most were gnats in the face of his point defense screen, but the missile boats had proved more of a problem than initially estimated. He was starting to wish he had carrier loaded cruisers right now, but that was just another distraction.

TL;DR
  • Gravis Ceta is hit very badly moves to try and restore its shields
  • Light cruisers shift fire to missile boats
  • Lance fire on Tyrant Class ships continues
  • 2 Squadrons of fighters move to protect the invictus
  • Beta and Ceta Corvette wings move to attack Crimson Linings
  • Fleet continues to move forward

"Crimson Linings , Nacheria Squadron. Target their Flagship and destroy all of their main offensive and defensive weaponry and if possible their Shield and Power Generators along with their Targeting Systems."

“Copy that. Reforming now.” Pulling a tight chandelle, Electra-12 set a course back to the main formation, only deactivating her cloak once she arrived. Baron Wilhlem Vonreg was one of the Final Dawn’s most prolific TIE aces. While he had her respect and she followed his orders given his superiority in rank, status, and perhaps, skill as well, Electra-12 ultimately viewed him as competition. By no means was she keen on sharing the title of the last and the greatest TIE ace. However, in order to claim that title, she would have to outfly him severely, enough that her name was raised over his and beyond, for she was not just competing against him, but all the aces to have ever lived in galactic history, from Poe Dameron to Maarek Stele.

Her aspirations went beyond space and time.

Lining up in formation with Nacheria Squadron and Crimson Linings, Electra-12 joined the push towards the Nothmiro flagship. It didn’t take long for them to meet the enemy, as wings of enemy corvettes moved to intercept, their presence a foreboding warning on her sensor readout. Not wanting to be caught in their fire, Electra-12 activated her cloak once more, veering out of the main formation before setting a course to flank the corvettes. With her interceptor’s powerful armament, there was a chance that she could kill one or two of the enemy vessels, or at least deal significant damage, thereby opening a gap for Nacheria Squadron and Crimson Linings to reach the flagship.

“Moving to flank the corvettes.” She said coldly. Before long, her speed brought her craft into position, Approaching the corvette from its rear, she uncloaked in a shimmer of light and loosed a pair of concussion missiles, each locked onto the ship’s engine housings. Simultaneously, her heavy and light beam cannons and disruptor cannons whined to life, casting forth their fire into the void in an aggressive Alpha Strike, all aimed for the engine housings with the ultimate objective of killing the corvette before its hapless crew could recognize the threat she presented. After letting the beam cannons discharge their full, three-second burn, the strand-cast broke off the attack with a sudden drop-kick maneuver, before activating the DERP to hide her presence on scanners, in the event of retaliatory fire.

Then, she readied herself for the next attack run.

Commander : Admiral Kaine Hamilton

Crimson Linings

The Bridge of the FDS Plunderer shook as the Tyrant-Class Star Destroyer was struck by yet another volley of Plasma Fire from the Nothmiro Lance Guns. "Sir , our Primary Shields are down to 34% Integrity." an officer said. "Karabast." was Admiral Hamilton's only response. The Nothmiro's Lance Guns were more powerful then expected but probably largely due to how a large portion of their Fleet was concentrating such weaponry on a small number of ships . Nevertheless , with the Tyrant's Primary Shields already nearly depleted the Admiral would have to make a move with his fleet quickly considering at how the Secondary and Tertiary Shields wouldn't last that long against such sustained attacks. "Sir , the Enemy Fleet has begun to advance towards our position." another officer said. "When shall we be in range of their closest ships." the Admiral said. "It will take approximately two to three minutes before we get in range." the officer said.

The Enemy Fleet was closing in on Task Force Retribution and from what Hamilton had read from the Politorate's Reports on the Nothmiro's Main Capital Ships it was that they were designed to deliver deadly broadsides , and while the Tyrants and the Ascendant Mark-IIs could handle broadsides from the Nothmiro Heavy Cruisers , it was the Battlecruiser itself which posed the greatest threat. Hamilton had made it a priority for the Crimson Linings and Nacheria Squadron to destroy the Main offensive weaponry of the Nothmiro Flagship but they now found themselves under attack from Nothmiro Fighters and Corvettes which could easily be dealt with via Task Force Retribution's larger Starfighter compliment but would still delay the larger attack on the enemy Flagship. The Admiral found himself in a quite dangerous position at risk of getting annihilated by the Nothmiro Fleet , but there was still a way he could come on top of this , a riskier way.

"Sir , the Shields of one of their Heavy Cruisers are critical and are almost down" an officer said. That's it! Hamilton thought. His Ships would not be able to last long against the Nothmiro Battlecruiser but through concentrated
Alpha Strikes on their Heavy and Attack Cruisers , Three to Four Cruisers at a time , he would be able to even the odds by eliminating the more heavy hitting cruisers , but that came with the risk of getting broadsided by the Nothmiro Warships. Nevertheless left with no other plausible choice , the Admiral moved forth with this decision and gave the order. "Move the Fleet into firing range and target Half of their Heavy Cruisers excluding the one targeted by our Chariots. Once in range begin performing Alpha Strikes upon the designated Heavy Cruisers , hopefully this will result in the destruction of a few of them to our advantage" the Admiral began.

"In addition , i want our Chariots to split into 3 Groups and shift their focus on their Attack Cruisers once more through Nova Flares. The more damage we do to their Cruisers the less damage we take and the more firepower we'll have when dealing with that Battlecruiser of theirs. Redirect some of our SRAFs and TIE Fighters to deal with the Corvettes sent to intercept the Crimson Linings and have some of our Interceptors and Hunters eliminate the Two Squadrons sent out by their Flagship. This battle ends now." Admiral Hamilton said. Within a few minutes , the Tyrants and Ascendant Mark-IIs would find themselves in range of the enemy Fleet and would immediately open fire upon Three Heavy Cruisers while the Chariots split up into two Groups of 17 Missile Boats and one group of 18 Missile Boats targeting a Single Attack Cruiser per group unleashing a second volley of deadly Nova Flares upon the Attack Cruisers. At the same time , a large swarm of SRAFs and TIEs Fighters would move in to intercept the Corvettes sent to attack the Crimson Linings while a few Squadrons of TIE Interceptors and TIE Hunters would begin attacking the Two Squadrons sent out by the Invictus.

To Admiral Hamilton , it was now only a matter of time before the Nothmiro Fleet fell apart. His Forces were now all over them attacking them from all sides and the most significant damage they had ever done in return was to his main Star Destroyers at long range via their Lance Guns. Now that his Fleet was moving in , the Admiral was fully confident that these Treacherous Nothmiros would not last long enough , not even with their Battlecruiser.

As Baron Vonreg and his Squadron continued to advance towards the enemy Flagship , the Final Dawn Ace suddenly picked up numerous pings from his sensors before realizing what was happening. Half a Dozen Corvettes converging towards the Crimson Linings most likely to attempt to destroy them , but they were the Crimson Linings and they were unstoppable. "Crimson Linings. We have incoming. Six Enemy Corvettes closing in our position. Chariots shunt all power to the Shields and target their first Flight of Corvettes. Hunters and Interceptors follow my lead. We're going for one of their Attack Cruisers" Vonreg said as he pinged Brutus Eta before accelerating towards the Attack Cruiser ready to deliver a deadly blow against the Attack Cruiser and remind these Nothmiros who was truely superior.

Thus the Crimson Linings split up into two groups , one consisting of the Chariots and the other comprised of the Hunters and Interceptors. The Chariots soon began their attack run against the Trio of Corvettes absorbing the firepower unleashed by the Corvettes through their Shielding before unleashing a deadly volley of Assault Concussion Missiles upon the unfortunate vessels. This was followed by the TIE Hunters and TIE Interceptors launching their own attack on Brutus Eta with Vonreg and the TIE Hunters unleashing their Composite Beam Lasers upon the Attack Cruisers followed by the TIE Interceptors unleashing volleys of Mag-Pulse Warheads which should be enough to outright cripple or destroy the Attack Cruisers.

  • The FDS Plunderer , FDS Dominator and FDS Havoc suffer further damage to their Shields
  • Task Force Retribution moves into firing range of the Nothmiro Fleet and begins Alpha Strikes on the designated targets :
    • The FDS Plunderer and Four Ascendant Mark-IIs target Gravis Alpha
    • The FDS Dominator and Three Ascendant Mark-IIs target Gravis Beta
    • The FDS Havoc and Three Ascendant Mark-IIs target Gravis Eta
  • The Chariot-II Missile Boats take Little Casualties and proceed to split into Three Even Groups to attack the Nothmiro Attack Cruisers via Nova Flare attacks (With Assault Concussion Missiles) :
    • 18 Chariot-II Missile Boats target Brutus Beta
    • 17 Chariot-II Missile Boats target Brutus Alpha
    • 17 Chariot-II Missile Boats target Brutus Delta
  • Several SRAF and TIE Fighter Squadrons move forth to attack the two Flights of Corvettes sent to attack the Crimson Linings
  • A few Squadrons of TIE Hunters and TIE Interceptors move forth to intercept the Two Fighter Squadrons sent out by the Invictus
  • The 8 Chariot-II Missile Boats of the Crimson Linings begin an attack run against one of the Flight of Corvettes unleashing a volley of Assault Concussion Missiles upon each Corvette
  • The Remaining TIE Hunters and Interceptors of the Crimson Linings attack Brutus Eta with the former firing their Composite Beam Lasers and the latter unleashing volleys of Mag-Pulse Warheads

"Enemy reinforcements engaged, capital ships have reached medium engagement range." called the tactical officer, "picket and attack cruisers report their point defense screen is holding integrity, Gravis Ceta is restoring shields." Walker glanced at his displays, the missile boats were tougher to crack than expected but they could only last so long against the light cruisers before enough slugs were driven into them. As long as they had ammunition they were safe from most missiles, and it wouldn't be long before they could begin ramming and broadsiding their way through the Mawite formation. "All cruisers are clear to begin medium range weapons fire, keep up the pressure on their three Star Destroyers, if we can crack their shields before we get closer we can break their fleet." The Nothmiro fleet had made it this far, they just had to keep cohesion for a few more minutes. Another officer called out from the side of the bridge, "Incoming fighter squadrons, engaging with PD." with those words the hull of the Invictus came alive with the boom and tear of autocannons and PD lasers as they fired out into the practical melee of the corvettes and fighters surrounding the Invictus.

"S.D. class hostiles have taken heavy shielding damage, fire coordination for our formation remains high. Two minutes to broadside range." the tactical officer advised, compiling the reports from each formation and sending them to the displays in front of the Corps Commander. "All capitals make full speed, keep in formation while we close the gap." ordered Walker, glancing at his fleet's status. Some kind of stealth fighter had just nearly crippled a corvette with a single volley, something he could not abide. "Brutus Alpha and Beta, close up beside the flagship and give us some breathing room. Shift firing patterns to give the Invictus and Corvettes and envelope."

“Enemy capital vessels are accelerating, Baron.” Electra-12 called out as the range indicators on her sensors began to dwindle. Indeed, the technology did not lie to her as she verified the findings with her own eyes. Already, the enemy flagship was closing in on the main body of the Final Dawn fleet, opening fire with its point defense weapons on Crimson Linings.

It accelerated towards its doom.

So was the hapless corvette she had struck with everything she had only moments before. Now with her weapons recharged, Electra-12 angled her TIE back on course towards the vessel as it floundered in the void, her stealth systems still active in the process. Using the large frame of the wounded corvette as cover from the enemy flagship’s barrage of point defense fire and hive of fighters, Electra set her course nearly parallel with her target, before unleashing an Alpha Strike with her beam and disruptor cannons at nigh-point blank range as she flew lengthwise along its topside, then finishing the run with a pair of concussion missiles.

Climbing out of the run, now lacking cover and with her weapons running hot, Electra-12 brought her TIE’s SLAM to life with the flip of a switch, the motor howling as it accelerated her TIE forward with explosive velocity.

For a TIE ace, speed was life.
