- Unlike the ship/vehicle cloaking equipment in general, this one creates a force field around the hull/surface and hides them from eyes, sensors, scanners. The energy field is based on refractive technology.
- The device can be used on any spaceship, vehicle, or building, no matter the size.

- Cloaking or Shield: The two cannot work at the same time, one has to decide whether either the cloaking device function works or the shield. Not only would they use a lot of energy, but shield technology cannot be shielded by the cloaking device.
- EMP/Ion: Like all technology devices, it is vulnerable to EMP / Ion attacks. Although it has a high level of protection against such attacks due to the polymer and the vehicle/ship around it, there are always so many attacks, or so strong, that electronics and other protections can no longer withstand, and the device will damage or destroy.
- Limits: The cloaking device creates a field directly around the hull/surface, it is not a hemisphere, the force-field cannot be extended to other vehicles/ships. Last but not least, the estuarine fire cannot be covered by the force-field either, so it is easily noticeable during the attack. So, when the vehicle/walker/ship attacks something, they are almost certainly noticed. And because of the estuarine fire, the weapons can be hit and destroyed easily, even when cloaked, as the shield does not work.
- Damage: If the device itself is damaged, the crystals may cause a larger explosion, which could result in serious injury or death to the user, in a smaller object, in larger object it can damage the ship/vehicle badly.
- Hyperspace: The cloaking device cannot be used in hyperspace, i.e. it can only be activated after exiting the hyperspace. But since shields are usually used there, the ship is visible for quite a few seconds before it is able to cloak itself. And after shutting down the shield system, it can be an easy target.
The HPI Consortium is still happy to work with Shadow Company when it comes to special technologies. Shadow Company is famous for its various stealth, camouflage and cloaking technologies. Now they were just trying to create something like this again. One that can be used as a personal device and one that can be used on vehicles, spaceships, or buildings.
Also, for this type of device, the kind of solution chosen was to have the force field around the surface / hull, as this was a much better solution, more efficient than having to create a huge sphere. The force-field is able to hide the object from the technology and the eyes, perfectly. Also covers the emitted energy signals, gravitational distortions in the case of larger spacecraft. That’s why it’s all very useful; it is worth noting that it can be used on any spaceship / vehicle, the size does not matter.
However, like everything, it has its drawbacks, a powerful EMP / Ion attack can destroy the equipment, as can hits and damage that can even cause an explosion. Not to mention the fact that the cloaking device cannot be used with a shield, so this can be quite a disadvantage; especially if someone attacks with the spaceship or vehicle during the cloaking, the estuarine fire is visible and even the camouflaged object or weapons can be destroyed with a counterattack. But it can’t be used in hyperspace either, only after the ship is already in real space.
Despite its disadvantages, its strengths compensate for the disadvantages, and HPI has launched a very good, great-to-use cloaking device, especially because it can be used in any size vehicle or spaceships. And this is a huge advantage for such a device.
