Built as a flexible and capable starfighter, the N-1 Hawk is a fairly traditional design carrying a handful of laser cannons and anti-capital ship munitions while still having above average flight characteristics. Propelled by a pair of sublight ion engines and able to perform impressive in atmosphere maneuvers, the Hawk is a capable dogfighter. While it is primarily armed for interception and screening, the munitions hardpoints allow it to carry out runs on targets of opportunity or function as a light ground attack fighter.
The N-1b Hawk was intended as a replacement for the outdated and underdeveloped N-1 model, ditching many of the features of the first model in exchange for better base characteristics and a much improved munitions package.
