  • Climate: Very cold temperate, seasonal cycle lasts roughly 4 standard years
  • Primary Terrain: Grassland, shrubland, tundra, mountainous, glacial, volcanic glass
  • Atmosphere: Type 1
LOCATION INFORMATION
  • Capital City: First Landing
  • Planetary Features: Three large mountain ranges, glacial plain ice caps, multiple small inland seas
  • Major Locations:
    • Regions
      • The Continent
        • The Glasslands
          • The large northeastern expanse that holds much of Nothmir’s mineral resources. The area’s ground consists of an obsidian like substance that while difficult to dig through conceals a mineral wealth that has sustained the planet for thousands of years. The area has little plant life but still hosts migratory herds that eat the moss growing on the volcanic glass.
        • The Glacial Plains
          • The far north of the main continent is covered by a massive expanse of ice that can exceed 1,500m in thickness. This area provides much of the freshwater that flows through the continent’s rivers. In some places the peaks of mountains are just barely out of the ice. These glaciers expand and retract over the hemisphere’s seasons.
        • The Tundras
          • Only slightly warmer than the Glasslands directly west, the tundra’s inhabited areas primarily host large agricultural domes used to raise animals during the long winters.
        • The Prairies
          • Wide expanses of grassland and hills that make up the area with the largest population. Area where First Landing is located.
    • Cities
      • First Landing: The capital of Nothmir built just north of the equator
      • Glesland: A large northern city built at the edge of the winter maximum extent of the glacial plains. Economy mainly based on refining and manufacturing goods from the resources of the surrounding Glasslands region.
      • Isfolk: A major hub of travel from the rest of the galaxy. Features a large number of hospitals specializing in genetic therapies and experimental treatment.
    • Military:
      • The Citadel: A large military installation with gun batteries, training facilities, and landing pads near First Landing. Also the hub of the world’s military forces.
      • Northern Polar Fortress: A large military installation with gun batteries, training facilities, and landing pads built at the north pole of Nothmir. Nicknamed “Hothmir” by visiting friendly forces due to the extreme winter conditions.
      • Military installations: Asteroid belt, Disiplina, Anake, Hades. All include extensive bunker networks and anti-ship batteries.
  • Force Nexus: No force nexus

POPULATION
  • Native Species: None other than flora and a few unremarkable insects
  • Immigrated Species: Humans, a small Chiss population, some livestock animals.
  • Population: Moderate
  • Demographics: Mainly humans originating from Mandalore, a small Chiss population also lives in the major cities
  • Primary Languages: Offshoot Mando’a dialect, galactic basic
  • Culture: Most humans on Nothmir fall into one of three "Pillars of society" Industry, Science, and Military. The planet has retained some of old Mandalore’s clan system, but it has shifted to become more of a formality as opposed to a system of political entities.
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Parliamentary Triumvirate
    • The Nothmiro government is made up of three connected structures. The judicial branch, which is semi-independent; the Parliament, which elects representatives based on a district system; and the Triumvirate, which is made up of the leaders of the three largest parties and acts as the executive branch.
  • Affiliation: The Nothmiro Federation
  • Wealth: Medium
  • Stability: High
  • Freedom & Oppression: For most of the population life is fairly free. Every citizen has the right to free speech and association, freedom of movement, the right to vote, and freedom of equal treatment before the law. However there is a catch, only those who complete two years of civil service in either the Peacekeeper Corps, the Labour Corps, or other duties can be citizens. Xenophobia, especially for non-humanoid species, is extreme as the world’s culture is scarred by the constant horror of the farthest reaches of the Unknown Regions.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military: Highly militarized
    • Planetary Defence Force: Made up of citizens completing their mandatory 1 year of civil service in a military role. Primarily used as a way to foster nationalism, training and equipment are basic.
    • Peacekeeper Corps: The primary forces of the Nothmiro Federation. The Corps are large hybrid navy-army forces favouring mechanized infantry and armoured vehicles to maximise the impact of their numerically inferior forces
  • Technology: Galactic standard, advanced medical and genetic sciences technology along with semi-divergent weapons technology.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Origins:
In the aftermath of the Mandalorian Wars, a handful of small clans set out from their war-torn homeworld for greener pastures and a more isolated lifestyle towards the galactic rim, traveling on a fleet of transports and capital ships north and west through to the unknown regions. While the initial intended location has been lost to time, what is recorded is the massive navigational errors caused by the turbulent and hazardous areas, as well as a series of emergency jumps made by the fleet as they were hounded by many of the hostile aliens inhabiting the Unknown Regions. After years of living as starbound nomads, the fleet happened across the Nothmir system and took a liking to it. The system was a natural fortress, and since interdiction tech had not yet been invented its unique advantage proved to be the system’s unstable magnetic environment.

Initially landing at the blandly named “First Landing” the exiles turned colonists quickly set up a small city and began to colonise the planet. However many alien species such as the Chiss and others would begin to threaten what they saw as squatters in a strategically advantageous location. This led to the development of a xenophobic outlook within the Mandalorian population, without more friendly species to provide a more open perspective.

Nothmir's government and the old clans of the world still hold a claim to Mandalore, seeing it as an ancestral home despite the long isolation the planet endured. While the title of Mand'alor is no longer officially the leader of the Nothmiros any who would hold it may find a valuable ally in the offshoot world.

Technology:
Technology continued to advance largely isolated except for any captured alien artifacts, with much focus being put on maximizing the economic output and combat effectiveness of the population to make up for its small size. Plasma based weapons and beam guns were favoured for starships, while infantry carry a variety of weapons from a branching category of blasters (see the Pacificator Crucible Arm). Powered armour is heavily favoured over more conventional infantry equipment, and some even include personal shielding.

Medical technology has pushed somewhat past the galactic standard, improved bacta fluids, surgical methods, and medical therapies have provided a valuable and even profitable service for the world. Collections of medical experts and those looking for treatment frequent the world, exchanging ideas and funds in equal measure.

Couple things we need to address here.

First, I need you to go through this sub and make sure each new field starts on it's own line. The way it currently is makes it difficult to see the necessary information quickly without hunting for it. In this case I am talking specifically about 'Major Imports', 'Affiliation', 'Stability', 'Freedom and Oppression'.

That symbol doesn't appear anywhere on this link? Is there somewhere that is posted that shows the connect?

Non-Cannon Links: Chris Walker
If you want to link this here, that's fine? But either actually link it or remove it.

The star that Nothmir orbits is average in most respects, but it has a strange effect on the surrounding system, and hampers the hyper drive navigation of any starshipthat gets within a certain range, this often leads to ships having to drop out of hyperspace early due to the chance of hitting stray asteroids.
Is it the sun or the asteroids that cause this effect? Please pick one.

Immigrated Species: Humans, xenohumans, a few other alien races
Xenohumans isn't a term typically used in star wars? Do you mean near-human or something else in this case?

Thank you. The sub still mentioned xeno-humans in culture, can you change that please?

The star that Nothmir orbits is average in most respects, but it has a strange effect on the surrounding system, and hampers the hyper drive navigation of any starshipthat gets within a certain range, this often leads to ships having to drop out of hyperspace early due to the chance of flying to a completely different location.
This isn't going to fly. My recommendation is to simply leave it as:

The star that Nothmir orbits is average in most respects, but it has a strange effect on the surrounding system, and hampers the hyper drive navigation of any starshipthat gets within a certain range, this often leads to ships having to drop out of hyperspace early.

Major Locations: Citadel: Government complex in the Nothmiro capital
Are there any other major locations? The capital city itself for instance? Any major geographical features?

Reviewing this.

FederationPrime said:
Region: Unknown Regions
Hyperlink Unknown Regions please.

FederationPrime said:
Major Locations: None
There are no major locations? The submission mentions shipyards and cities.

FederationPrime said:
Affiliation: The planet and surrounding system falls under the rule of the Nothmiro Federation, a pro-human (or near-human) military group.
Does the Nothmiro Federation have a faction page or a Codex submission? If yes, please hyperlink.

You seem to be missing parts of the new template (it changed a bit when Codex was overhauled). You can find the template here: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/140398-planet-creation-30/

  • Unexploited Resources: [ Does this planet have resources that are not yet utilized by the population? Common materials and ores should just be listed (Ex. Durasteel ore), while anything special or rare should be linked. ]

This would go under General Information, after Major Exports.

Major Locations is now under Location information and you're missing the other sections of this field. A Force Nexus is optional. So if it doesn't have a nexus, just put N/A there and leave out the Nexus specific sections.

LOCATION INFORMATION
  • Capital City: [ What is the name of the planet’s capital? ]
  • Planetary Features: [ What are interesting artificial features of the planet? Ruins, interconnected cities, floating urban platforms. This field is used to sketch out artificial features, adding RP opportunities, but without the need for specific details like in the the major locations field. You can also include if the planet is primarily Wild, Rural, Suburban, Urban, or a Mix. ]
  • Major Locations: [ What are the major locations on your world? Include an explanation on each. ]
  • Force Nexus (Optional): [ If you wish to add a Force nexus (light, neutral, or dark), you are required to justify it through your submission and history. ]
Intent: [ Provide the reasoning and motive for this force nexus. A request for a force nexus may be denied on this premise alone. ]
Nexus Name: [ Name of the nexus if applicable. ]
  • Nexus Alignment: [ Light, Dark, Neutral, Other (explain). ]
  • Size: [ Small (A small location on a world much like a grove or oasis. Ex. Dark Grove), Medium (A moderately sized area, large compounds, lake, etc Ex. Great Temple), Large (A location that spans a large area, a valley, mountain ranges, etc. Ex. Valley of the Jedi). Planetary (Influences everything on the planet. Ex. Byss). ]
  • Strength: [ How strong is the Nexus? How much influence does it exert on those near it? Weaker nexus are easier to overlook, while stronger ones are impossible to miss. Stronger Nexus will be more closely scrutinized for balance and fairness during judging. Choose one: Weak (A weak influence on the area and the people on it. A fragile nexus that can potentially be altered by people or events, i.e. a lightside nexus could be corrupted by atrocity or a dark side nexus cleansed by the actions of a mass of Jedi.), Moderate (A moderate influence on the area and the people on it. Could be altered with a great enough event.), Strong (A strong influence on the area and the people on it. Powerful enough to be renewed in the event of a great cataclysm, and unlikely to be altered.) ]
  • Accessibility: [ For Small, Medium, or Large Nexus only. Describe logistical information on how easy it is to find/access this location. Is it hidden? Is it isolated from society or is it in the middle of civilization? Is it guarded? Open to the public or private access only? Keep in mind that the Strength of the Nexus above must be reflected in this field. ]
  • Effects: [ What sort of effects does this Nexus confer? An aura of fear? Reinvigorating those on the world? Perhaps it induced tricks of the mind, to test the visitors. These effects can be positive, neutral, or negative, and should reflect the nature and history of the Nexus. ]

Thank you for making these edits. Having given the sub a second look, I think only one thing remain before I can put this in pending

In Stability, I need you to add one of the ratings. The text you've written in that section is good and can stay. Just add the rating in front of it.

  • Stability: [ Low, Medium, High. Are there major issues causing unrest? Is this a planet of chaos or one of peaceful law abiding citizens? Is it dangerous for travelers to visit or are you safe as an outsider? Describe the general feel and theme of any overarching government or rulers/leaders in this city. ]

Greetings,

It looks like you've already done a nice bit of work here getting the template updated. Phew! Good work! There are just a few things left to fix before we can get this re-approved.

1.)
Coordinates: F, 9
On the New Template - "Coordinates" are actually "Location" now - And even if you want to use Coordinates from the Old Map - Those aren't actually coordinates you'd be able to choose. They're way out in Extra-Galactic space (Actually, under the old list of Major Factions on the map.) If you nabbed the Coordinates from a wookie page we don't actually use those either. Be sure to switch out the names and follow what the template offers.

2.) "Atmosphere" is missing from the submission entirely. That will need to be added in and filled out, please. You can see where it should be located at the bottom of this screen cap below.
0dc88a602094ac772f27d8cd181e224b.png

3.)
Immigrated Species: Humans, near-human species, a few other alien races
Demographics: Humans make up 90% of Nothmir's population, while the 5% of near-human species are used for military purposes, and a impoverished 5% Alien population
You have a "Few Alien Races" listed or an "Alien" population - What makes up this percentage? If you're not sure, that's okay, but if there any that are strange or uncommon links would be most appreciated.

4.)
Freedom & Oppression: When it comes to Nothmir's government, it keeps in the fairly moderate right-athoritarian part of the political compass, with citizens maintaining personal freedom. The general view by thepopulous is that if required, some rights may be suspended if it is for the benefit of all.
There are mentions of the "Alien" races being oppressed higher in the submission "Aliens face a harsh life on Nothmir, doing manual labor in dangerous jobs like mining" so those circumstances should probably be detailed here as well. How are they oppressed? Why?

5.) "Historical Info" - I would suggest that you elaborate on this section more. Any details that you can add about it would only serve to help other writers immerse themselves in the world more easily. The more background you give, the more your vision will be realized, and not misunderstood or misrepresented by anyone that may choose to write on there.

6.) Please sweep the submission for spelling errors. Canon names like "Mandalorian" (Correct Spelling) versus "Mandilorians". Or "Chiss" (Correct Spelling) versus "Chis".

When you're all done going over the above please tag and let me know. Thank you!

[member="FederationPrime"] Thank you for the rest of the edits. That was fast, haha.

As far as the "Location" goes - Can you link me the world you're referring to? Aviprine is a place on Ansion. You can take a screen cap of where you want it to be and just state the planet that it's closest to it in a particular hex. If it's empty, just say it's the empty hex north, south, east, or west of whatever it's nearest to. We can figure it out from there.

Ansion is located here on the new map smack dab in the center.
