L O S T
Eliphas was born the second son of House Dune, a noble family spanning generations on Empress Teta. His Father, Oskar, worked closely with the planetary monarchy, earning his family great prestige, while his Mother was more wont to tend to affairs within their own household.
Though Oskar was the Head, it was Ruthe who kept them afloat and managed their day to day lives. A strong woman, behind an already strong man. His birth was preceded by that of his brother Danithel five years prior, and had the age gap not been hard enough on the boys Dani's intense training regimes were quick to take up most of his time as he was groomed toward leadership.
One might expect that meant Eliphas was left to his own devices, though that could not have been further from the truth. Though he was certainly afforded freedoms that his brother was not, he too had a rigorous regimen and his own burdens to bear.
Just as his brother, it was expected that Eliphas would work hard to join the ranks of the great men who had allowed their House to prosper. It was the third Dune child, Annalis - born two years later - who was permitted something in the way of respite from the ever-in-motion plans of her family, and as much as the boys envied her position they could not in any capacity despise her for it.
Annalis was a sweet girl, though admittedly very lonely. Without her brothers to play with, and far more coddled than the pair, she was left with only her own company much of the time and would often beg to accompany Eliphas on his less important errands, much to their mother's chagrin.
With so much pressure to perform, Eliphas poured the majority of his free time into his studies. He attended a prestigious academy and received a very high level of education as a result. There was no room for error, and it was expected that he would maintain top grades throughout. Anything less and their good name would certainly be besmirched.
Alongside this, as he reached his teenaged years he found himself enrolled within the Tetan Hyperspace Navigator's Guild as a cadet, and though it made him all the more pressed for time, and all the more stressed with his duties, he discovered a genuine passion for their work.
Through the Guild he began to learn how to pilot small space vessels, beginning first with simple shuttles and then gradually building up to starfighters. Of course he was also instructed in how to work in unison alongside others, as a functioning member of a ship's crew. How to tend to more menial, yet no less important, tasks, as well as beginning to study star charts and map safe courses through space. Under the watchful eye of his tutors, of course.
More recently, Eliphas was finally given his first real task beyond Empress Teta. His mission? To join the crew of a notable Tetan politician's yacht as it made its way toward Gala in the Outer Rim Territories...
