Born from a union of Serennian nobility and Corellian old money, Desric was destined for a life of comfort - doubly so as the younger of two siblings. While Force Sensitive like his more famous older brother, Desric consistently avoided being drafted into the ranks of the Sith due to a mix of bribery and aristocratic privilege. As the Sith Empire grew more desperate for fresh fodder following disastrous defeats against the New Imperials, old tests were re-examined and found to be faulty, only for his file to be permanently sealed by order of the Dark Councillor of Scientific Advancement.
That the Dark Councillor that personally altered his test results to "Result: Negative; Status: Valid" just happened to be his own brother was just one of many nepotistic advantages received by the young nobleman, as was the premium treatment he received after being gravely injured in a terrorist attack on the University of Rudrig. A commoner might have been permanently disfigured, but that would not do.
That said, even sheltered as he was he could not help but be affected by the wars scarring the galaxy.
First, his brother perished on Dantooine during the inexorable New Imperial advance towards the Sith-Imperial heartland. Next, that same war swept across Serenno and suddenly having had high-ranking Sith relatives went from advantageous to deeply problematic.
Fortunately for the young Serennian, having hidden one's Force Sensitivity from the Sith was exactly the right move as far as a 'kindly' COMPNOR analyst was concerned. The fact that his grandmother surreptitiously handed over confidential documents 'accidentally left behind' by the late Darth Prospero - whose allegiance had always been situational - certainly did not hurt the situation.
Still, it was time to seek greener pastures. Having finished his business degree at the University of Rudrig, Desric finally received adequate training in the ways of the Force from the Golden Order's main 'temple' on Coruscant before being handed an executive position in the Globex Corporation. While hardly a dunce, it is difficult to dispute that his CV was barren save for his degree and NEPOTISM in bold text.

TL;DR:
- Too young to remember Corellia getting smacked. Grew up on Serenno during the reign of the Sith Empire, hidden Force Sensitivity. Business degree from Rudrig, where he was gravely hurt in a terrorist attack - cue fancy cybernetics. Brother kicked the bucket, the Sith Empire fell, and his family kept sheltering him. Eventually got discount Jedi training from the Golden Order. Executive position? Superpower of nepotism!
