Faction Across the Stars: The Wedding of Alicio Organa and Amani Serys (GA, NJO, Friends)

Alicio-Amani-wedding.jpg

SANCTUARY CITY, ALDERAAN
TYTHON MEMORIAL HOLOGRAPHIC GARDEN

The vows have been made. The rings exchanged. And now, Count Alicio Organa and Countess Amani Serys-Organa are newly wed.
Sanctuary City was a unique location, with a lot of history to their relationship. It was a haven for the galaxy's many refugees, one which Alicio himself had helped plan. One of it's most notable features were its memorial gardens: large domed parks, constructed to reflect a sample of a particular planet's biome. There were several, each representing a world that had been lost or damaged by calamity. Each one a tragic reminder, but also an icon of endurance and hope.

One such garden represented Tython: Amani's homeworld, ravaged by the Maw's attempts to rewrite the very galaxy. That garden was where they had their first kiss, and now, it had come full circle as the site of their wedding. A pleasant blend of natural outdoor beauty, and the controllable conveniences of a large indoor venue. Not to mention all the symbolism that came with it.

Now with the ceremony complete, the reception was in full swing. Tables and chairs were set up for those eager to sit and eat, with catering provided by House Organa's chefs, some of the finest in the galaxy. The rest of the space was free for people to mingle, dance, or simply admire the beauty of the picturesque Tythonian valley they appeared to be in. Today, the woes of the galaxy took a back seat. Today was a day for enjoyment and celebration.

Amani and Alicio held hands as they led the recessional back down the aisle, transitioning naturally to the setup of the reception. Cameras were flashing wildly, and a band was already beginning to play classical Alderaanian music. After lingering for a bit to let pictures be taken and for the guests to begin milling about, Amani looked up at her husband and glanced to the patch of grass left open for dancing, "Probably shouldn't keep folks waiting for too long," After all, as newlyweds the first dance belonged to them. It was a hobby she was notoriously unenthusiastic about. But there wasn't a hint of that present in her now.

Welcome! If you missed the LFG, check it out here for the details! I'll reiterate a few key things here:

1. If you are a member of the Alliance Senate or NJO, feel free to hop in at your leisure! Regardless of whether or not you signed up on the LFG, you are invited.

2. Same goes if you write a Significant Other/ Family member / Plus-one of another guest! You're invited to attend as well.

3. If you don't fit those criteria, feel free to poke me on the LFG or in DMs to ask if you can hop in! I'd like to make more opportunities available rather than restrict them, so don't hesitate if you're curious!

4. Have fun! It's a social thread. No sabotaging the party or starting any violence. Thanks!

"Come oooon," Vera whined as she tried to pull along both of her parents. She had already failed to contain her squealing during the ceremony, but now she really wanted to run up to Amani and Alicio to hug and congratulate them. They've always been so caring and supportive of her, and they were true friends to Vera.

They had even let her be the flower girl on their big day!

So while Valery had offered Kahlil an arm to walk over together, she was several steps ahead and moving unusually fast, even for an energetic Noble. "I'm walking on heels, sweetie. I can't go much faster." Valery chuckled but Vera wasn't having any of it and looked at one of her best friends in the Galaxy. "Come on, Bee. Let's gooo," she tried to at least get him to join her. They could say hi to her newlywed friends and maybe dance together too!

"She's so adorable, hm?" Valery asked Kahlil as she looked up at him, her tone soft so what she said remained between just them. Watching Vera be this happy and carefree was what they had always wanted for their daughter, and it wasn't always easy to accomplish. But today, she could just be a kid and have some fun.

"Let's grab some drinks and head to the dancefloor as well? I think most will gather there now, and maybe we can dance a little with Vera. If she's not too busy chasing people down or goofing off with Bee." She chuckled, interlaced fingers, and squeezed his hand while she beamed a genuinely happy smile. A smile that had only recently returned.

Weddings. To some, they were the very essence of romance. To him, they were a fantastic networking opportunity.

He was clad in a gold-trimmed pink coat and trousers alongside a white shirt, an attire topped with a gold-and-white hat that was just slightly askew. That was how it was meant to be worn, of course. He was, in other words, exactly as 'inconspicuous' as usual, though for once he was not trailed by a bodyguard detail of murderous droids.

No, the murderous droids had been left in his airspeeder.

Cybernetic eyes strafing the crowd, he did some preliminary strategizing. He would be congratulating the couple, of course, but it was wise to plan any coincidental meetings with persons of interest as quickly as possible.

At the same time, he turned the full weight of his ocular sensors on the gifts.

Desric did not particularly appreciate getting one-upped at gift-giving.

Getting surprised and one-upped would naturally be worse still.

Surprisingly, this wasn't the first wedding BB-610 had attended. For once, an organic ritual went understood by him, having known the ins and outs of what constitutes the perfect event: because that's what these sorts of coronations deserved to be. Perfect! Spotless. Orderly. The droid was fairly unfamiliar with the newlyweds in question, having been brought along merely out of a mutual relationship with Valery and her family, but that didn't mean BB-610 felt any less relaxed in ensuring the day went by flawlessly. Slowly rolling alongside the Nobles, sporting a fancy magnetic bowtie right above the lowest lip of his head, the astromech felt an awfully compelling urge to remedy the teeniest tiniest faults in the - admittedly gorgeous - garden around him.

"Come on, Bee. Let's gooo."

Bweeping quietly, head swirling around briefly to chirp Valery a nervous 'here we go' as he trailed after Vera, BB-610 kept his central optic sternly fixed on the little girl, anxious as to not let her get into too much trouble. He'd had enough artificial heart attacks from her stunt at the Life Day event already, and he wasn't willing to risk everybody being as sweetly patient as Chancellor Auteme was. Skittishly tweeting for Vera to not act too reckless, his photoreceptors found themselves glued to other matters; spotting the tables and chairs decorated throughout, it was only natural for BB-610 to find that - gasp - some of them were a whopping two inches away from being perfectly symmetrical, and being perfectly symmetrical was simply what tickled his programming's fancy.

And so, as they made their way to the dance floor, BB-610's journey was intermitted with the occasional correction of a table here and a chair there, utility arm delicately repositioning them the subtlest (yet precisely calculated) amount, while still trying to keep up with Vera as he bweeped nervously for her to wait up, motors whirring as he zoomed over to her, mumbling some concerned binary.

Thelma was a bit overwhelmed by how many people had showed up. It was a royal wedding, which meant a ton of guests were invited, but wow. She did not envy the caterers having to make food for everyone at the event.

Then there were the gifts. The box in Thelma's hands, containing a blanket she had sewn using the nicest fabric she could find, seemed doomed to get lost amid the pile. She set it down with the other gifts, wondering if it was even possible for two people to use all the things that the wrapped presents contained. Some of the gifts couldn't even fit in boxes.

Turning around, she smoothed the green fringes of the dress she had made for the occasion, scanning the area for Silas. They'd sat next to each other during the ceremony, but had become separated during the reception. He had mentioned something about wanting a drink. Maybe she should check the bar...

Jasper was well none for being an emotional fellow. As many were quick to remind him, he had cried at his own knighting ceremony, which he had faced a fair amount of light-hearted teasing for. Did this emotion apply to weddings as well? Yes. Yes it did. Jasper was containing himself for the most part, but he couldn't keep in the tears for very long. They had been streaming down since pretty early on into the ceremony. There was just something so moving about the whole ordeal. Amani was wise beyond her age, a great chief healer, and a good teacher. A hard working individual like her deserved great things.

It was easy to think back to the conversation that they had when Carnifex had inflicted scars on him back in his days as a padawan. Jasper found it kind of amusing that he had actually believed that allowing himself to be inflicted with nightmares would help him grow stronger in some way. Like it was a burden he had to bare. Maybe she had just talked some sense into a confused teen. There was still value in that. At least to Jasper there was.

He hadn't come alone. Jalen was here... Somewhere, anyways. Surely hiding away and trying to blend in as to not have to interact with anyone. So, he sat on the other side of Silas. He chose not to bother him though. His friend was here with Thelma, and he was well aware that something was blooming between the two of them. It was best not to interfere.

So he just sat there, boxed gift in hand and tears running down his face. What a time to be alive.

Kai was obliged, as Alicio's bodyguard, to stay within sight of the Senator. But most of those present—and even Alicio and Amani themselves—were likely unaware of his presence. The Doppelganger was that good at blending in with the background, appearing to be just another faceless guest from such-and-such star system, extravagantly dressed to suit the occasion.

The Tython-themed park was about as secure as a venue could get, but there was always the chance of someone posing a threat from within. That was what Kai was for. He was already calculating how he was going to stay within reach while Amani and Alicio were on the dancefloor. There was a trick to doing it without getting in the way. He didn't want to spoil things by hovering over the couple, after all.

"I'm not sure why you bothered with heels, it's not like you're going to look taller next to me."

He snickered ever so quietly, glancing to Valery for just a moment before watching their daughter just rush off. At least Bee was with her, though part of him felt bad for the poor droid. Or maybe not. Maybe they enjoyed being dragged around by a five year old.

Hard to tell. Probably should ask him, at some point. Right now though? He glanced again to Valery, raising a brow. And again the smirk came as he reached down to pat her hand. "No drinks for you, mm? But dancing, that we can do."

Valery rolled her eyes, "That's not why I'm wearing heels, babe. It's to bring out certain... features a little better." She waggled her eyebrows at him and squeezed his arm. It was hardly needed to do that for him, but sometimes a little showing off didn't hurt, and they were appropriate for more formal parties or ceremonies like this too.

Her gaze then shifted back to Vera... as she quite literally ran off with Bee. She really wanted to hunt down Alicio and Amani and just this once, Valery didn't think that stopping her was necessary. There was no need to fear that anybody would try to harm her, and she was just excited to have a good time. Bee was also with her, and she trusted that little droid with just about anything.

Turning back to Kahlil, she blinked in response to his grin and looked down at her hand for a moment... before she realized why he wasn't allowing her drinks. They were trying to expand the family, so drinking alcohol was not a great idea. "Right, I'll take something without alcohol later." She smiled lovingly but there was definitely a sheepish undertone to it.

"Then let's dance and I'm sure we'll run into Vera again. Hopefully Amani and Alicio too, so we can congratulate them." Now, Valery stepped around him and suddenly inched closer. She brought both her arms up and laid them on his shoulders to pull him into a dance. "You know, it's almost six years ago that we got married. Only a few months after Vera was born..." she smiled happily at the thought and began to sway to the music.

"Maybe we should plan that Keshi trip on our anniversary? Bring Vera along and we have a good family time."

"Six years."

Kahlil took on a rather calm looking smile as he nodded. Not that he was there the whole six years, but.. Yeah. It was something special alright. Hopefully Amani and Alicio wouldn't have anything like that to go through together. He chuckled a little though as Valery just started to pull him along. He certainly wasn't going to argue with her. He raised a brow though, glancing off again to where Vera had disappeared.

"A family trip for our anniversary? You sure that's what you want to do for it?"

He didn't think he'd have to explain his reasoning. Not with that grin.

"But that sounds good. So long as we get our time too."

Ever since the ceremony had began, Alicio had been floating on cloud nine.

For anyone that knew the Count, the change of his attitude was as apparent as his change of dress. The corners of his mouth were beginning to ache from smiling too much, his usually dark grey eyes bright and shining like pearls, as he stayed glued to Amani's side.

After weathering the slurry of camera flashes, Alicio cast yet another warm smile down towards his wife. Dancing sounded like a blast. "Good idea," he murmured, joining the Mirialan over to the open field, and offering a playful hand.

"Shall we... Your Excellency?"

Pulling Amani into a slow sway, staring gently into her eyes, Alicio became acutely aware of Valery Noble Valery Noble and Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble in the vicinity. He could only offer another genuine, if mildly tired, smile to the former. He would go and talk to them, meet the legendary Kahlil soon enough. But first...

Just a few more moments with Amani.

"Mhmm,"
Valery hummed while she practically leaned into him for the dance. The entire ceremony and feeling the happiness of two of her closest friends had really put her in the mood for some time with her husband. Dancing wasn't exactly a big strength of theirs, but as long as she was with him, she'd always enjoy it.

"Hmm, you make a good point," Valery then said with a slight blush touching her cheeks because of that grin of his. It always had the same effect, no matter how often she saw it. "Maybe we can do the trip as just a family vacation and for our anniversary... we just do something with the two of us." She looked up into his eyes and gently bit her lower lip.

Yeah, alone time was definitely needed too.

"Or we have to find a way to get our alone time on Keshi." She chuckled and leaned back a little so he could dip her down. Once he pulled her back up, she spun around elegantly on her heels and stepped back in close. Her fiery eyes connected with him, and she shot him a grin as if it was a challenge. "Got any places you would like to visit for our anniversary? We're already doing Keshi for me."

Not that she'd mind it if he had no specific desires, but she wanted to make sure.

Phalsi had not turned down the invite that Acaadi had sent her way. The event was a pleasant one, something she didn't turn her nose up at. Even if she was still on the fence about the prospect of marriage herself, but those were her own issues to work out given the Mistryl's interest in giving her a therapist to speak with after each quiet assignment.

Her ebony colored hair was kept up in a loose bun, the decorative needles in their respective sheaths and mimicking kanzashi as they always did.

A hand rubbing her neck and feeling the cool plates that formed a protective cover for her spine. Green contacts hidden behind lidded eyes as she watched the merriment around her.

New faces. New places. Friends of friends that made the moment for the happy couple all the more special.

Isolation from the orders to maintain a lack of identity with formal authorities found her sitting along the sidelines for the moment, waiting on Acaadi to bring her a drink.

There was a pair of faces she recognized however.

Valery Noble Valery Noble , though anyone that didn't recognize the galactic face of the jedi had been strapped to the bottom of a rock and sent in sublight speeds across the edges of the known system.

The other was Amani Serys Amani Serys , a face she loosely remembered from her time with the padawan group. The younger Perl sister having cemented some of those faces in their youth through exuberant outbursts.

Alicio Organa Alicio Organa , the other half of the happy couple was an unknown aside from the topical information of being a senator. Given she wasn't anything more than a guest for this event, she had little interest in finding out more about them.

Phalsi however had changed too much in her own mind to be memorable. Disguises and falsified legal documents playing into an inate paranoia the Mistryl's and Shadow's only seemed to nurture.

Her link back to the 'normal' world away from her for the moment as she let her hand slide down and kept her gaze shifting for the time being.

Valery drug along someone Phalsi assumed to be her significant other, the looks exchanged falling between mischievous teasing and quiet longing.

A particular guest caught her interest, their eyes always glued to the couple of the evening. The space between breaths however found her struggling to find that particular face again, forcing her to open her eyes a bit more as the newlyweds slipped into her gaze.

Even a pessimistic being such as Phalsi couldn't help but smile just a little seeing the senator's expression.

"Best wishes to you both." She whispered into the air, willing the warm breeze to carry her well wishes between those present.

Her arms crossed, she let her pinky nervously scratch against the bare elbow the hand cradled.

Maeve had never attended a wedding before.

Petals on the ground. Long tables laid in pale linen. Music drifting over the decorated heads of every guest. The reception was nothing short of breathtaking, complete with fragrant flower garlands, silver cutlery and catered food that could make even the most hardened Jedi's mouth water. Many from the Order had chosen to attend, and so had the cream of Alderaan's high society, from nobles and ladies in silk and satin and old velvet.

67LXN8w.gif
But out of everyone and everything, including the lavish gardens and the panorama of mountains behind them, what surprised Maeve the most was Amani.

The Jedi Knight was a far cry from how she looked when they first met on that glacial wasteland in the Outer Rim. She looked beautiful. Happy. Instead of heavy robes and armor, she wore a hand-spun white dress, embroidered with a hundred beautiful patterns, each design spinning its own romantic tale, and the ring on her finger glowed brighter than any diamond or sapphire she'd ever seen.

Maeve would've loved to have been among the first to congratulate her, but she knew to keep her distance while the newlyweds opened the reception with their dance. Perhaps she might have joined them, as the legendary Sword of the Jedi had with her husband, but Maeve had arrived alone. So, instead, she remained by a fountain of champagne flutes, a false wreath tucked in her hair, and watched the couple twirl around with a rosy smile.

Which, to the outside eye, might've seemed a miracle. Because Maeve never smiled.

As the music went on, violins playing and barks of laughter cutting the air, she turned and found an even greater surprise: Jasper, seated at his own table, clutching a gift topped in ribbon and tears rolling down his cheeks. She lifted an eyebrow at him.

"Are you… crying?" she asked, utterly oblivious.

Amani followed her husband in stride, the two of them practically joined at the hip since the ceremony began. Not that it should surprise anyone, "We shall, Your Excellency," She giggled and took his hand. They were quick to hit the dance floor (field?), so as to let others get the chance to start dancing themselves. Amani smirked a bit, already able to tell the Nobles were eager to follow suit.

The bride rested one hand on Alicio's shoulder, and stretched out the other for him to take, as they began to sway slowly to the romantic music. Her resplendent blue eyes shined brighter than ever, looking back at his grays now. Amani then rested her cheek on his chest, shutting her eyes for a few precious moments and letting the music guide her.

There was still so much to do; Guests to greet, cake to cut, even tattoos to get. It would all come soon enough. But for now, a little bit longer between just the two of them was all they needed, "...This is perfect," She muttered.

A C A A D I

"Are you working out who we know or watching the trees for snipers?" came Acaadi's voice as stepped up beside Phalsi.

He held out her drink for her. As soon as the hand was free he placed his arm around her back, his hand resting on her left arm.

The invitation had caught him by surprise. Amani was one of the first people he had met at the Silver academy. A kind soul who wanted to heal anything and anyone she could. The idea that she was already getting married had come as a shock.

Acaadi wore a dark grey formal tunic, there was a flash of teal colour under the collar. It didn't perfectly match Phalsi's dress, but choosing outfits for formal occasions wasn't something he had to do very often before. He'd actually sent his parents a holonet mail for advice.

"Shall we go and congratulate the couple after their dance in a bit?" he asked. He did not know how these events usually played out and he felt like they were quite passive spectators to it all.

d9xT0Qh.png

Alicio. Senator. Jedi. Someone disinclined toward Dominique's position given certain...circumstances on Denon. They weren't completely at odds, however, which meant the wedding was perhaps an opportunity to further that impression along? There hardly seemed any reason any should think ill of Denon with its wealth of products and services. Even recent events should be overlooked if a bleeding heart would still itself to listen. Would Alicio? Would anyone? Well, matters for another time. Vexx wasn't here to talk business... unless someone else started the conversation first, of course.

Dressed in a pressed, white suit, the lilac-haired Senator drifted amongst the reception-goers with a faint smile on her lips. Absolutely darling affair so far. Quite the showing of attendees as well. A number of familiar faces, but then why shouldn't the Jedi and the Senate support such an obviously smitten couple?

Dominique stopped suddenly when a black ball rolled by. Her golden eyes followed its trajectory and found a familiar urchin in the midst. Valery was there, was she? Vexx turned her eyes briefly to the floor. That woman did get around.

Her gait more naturally drew to a stop near one Desric Terassi Desric Terassi who had seemed taken by the mountain of gifts on display. Dominique smiled. "Quite the gathering, wouldn't you say?" Another soul Vexx should try to feel out whether they held some tie to the CAD, or if they might be receptive to... other plans in the works for Denon. When the time was right. At least, for the moment, as a Corporatist, Dominique felt they should be able to hold a pleasant enough conversation. Likely still a good deal of work to convincing most Jedi to give her more than a gritting of the teeth.

"Truthfully? No where comes to mind. I just want to spend it with you."

Nailed it. He smiled fondly, watching only her for a couple moments longer. Then actually looked around. Mostly for the leading couple of all of this. As much as he'd like to just keep his focus on Valery and Vera, they were here for her friends wedding. A pair he hadn't really had the chance to meet before. Staying home with Vera left little chance for him to. At least on the planet they were on.

And, well, Vera seemed absolutely enthralled with them both.

"They seem happy. Very happy."

"Hmmm, good answer," Valery grinned at the clever response and looked up into his eyes with an equally loving smile. But when he began to look around, she did the same. First to try and spot Vera, who was on her way to intercept Alicio and Amani, but her gaze also lingered on her two friends. It helped brighten her smile even more because she could feel their happiness. It was like how she and Kahlil both felt toward each other.

Pure and unbreakable.

"They do. I've talked to them both before the wedding and it's..." she let out a soft, happy sigh. "I'm happy to see them together like this." These were difficult times so having loved ones made it much easier to get through it all. She sincerely hoped that they'd be able to embrace that strength until the very end. "We can go talk to them if you'd like. I just didn't want to interrupt their dance too early."

"But it seems like Vera is already on her way to get their attention."
She chuckled.

...

While Vera rushed over to the dancefloor, she occasionally looked at Bee. She noticed him correcting tables and chairs, which got her to giggle but definitely wasn't enough to slow her down. All the big adults were going to talk to Amani and Alicio soon, so her only shot was to be the first.

After a moment, Bee asked her to wait up, and she finally stopped to turn to him. "Sorry Bee," Vera said. "I just want to say hi and then we can dance, okay?" With that, she turned back around, and soon enough, she spotted the happy couple. Vera began to grin, squealed, and waved in their direction.

"Amaniiii! Aliciooo!" she called out before she hopped towards them, hoping to hug, wave, or just do anything to show her excitement again.
