  OVERVIEW​

  
  Cailen Corso was born to two loving parents on Anaxes, where his family had worked the Alliance shipyards as scrappers and salvagers for years. From a young age, Cailen worked alongside his parents in the shipyards, repurposing ships and their technology for the Galactic Alliance. Around age seven, Cailen's parents began to notice something different about him. He was able to 'sense' which parts of a ship were defunct or damaged and which ones were good just by running his fingers over the tech - couplings, navigation chips, fusion cells, and the like.
  
  Then came the visions. When in direct contact with certain objects, Cailen could 'feel' the memories attached to them, experiencing them as bursts of emotion of the past.
  
  Soon after this "second sense" manifested in young Cailen, he was ostracized by the other children who called him a freak. His parents did what they could for their son, but his large group of friends dwindled down to just one: a young Rodian scrapper who lived in his apartment structure. The two found many uses for Cailen's Force sensitivity, becoming one of the quickest-working youth scrap teams in the shipyard, to the dismay of his bullies and rivals.
  
  Cailen was 10 years old when the Jedi Master arrived on Anaxes on business of the Galactic Alliance. The Jedi quickly caught wind of Cailen's Force sensitivity and sought out the boy and his family. He explained the ways of the Force and the Jedi Order to Cailen's parents and urged them to allow the boy the opportunity to become a Jedi himself. The Master promised Cailen's parents that taking the child into the New Jedi Order as a Padawan would give him a much better life than laboring in the shipyards. It was a difficult decision, but in the end, Cailen's parents accepted the Jedi's offer and bid their son a final farewell before sending him to train with the Order.
  
  Though he misses his family greatly, Cailen knows his new duties as a Jedi Padawan are a great honor and is determined to make good on his parents’ sacrifice.

  Cailen is a headstrong young Jedi who wishes to prove himself to his Master, his family, and his own inner voice. He is compassionate, friendly, and willing to help others in need. Cailen has a deep respect for the Galactic Alliance and reverence for the New Jedi Order; He believes them both integral to galactic peace and stability, a beacon of light in a galaxy of darkness. For the last three years, Cailen has trained as a Jedi Padawan in the New Jedi Order, a great honor to him and his family. He is formally trained in Form I (Shii-Cho) and Form III (Soresu).
  
  A trait exemplified often by the young Jedi is his penchant for honesty. Cailen is a reliable and truthful friend who loyalty seldom waivers without good reason. He enjoys exploring new places and is very curious about other ways of life, especially on foreign worlds and unfamiliar sectors. Learning as much as he can while on assignments is a guilty pleasure.
  
  Though some may call him rash, few can argue that Cailen isn't passionate about his charge and duties as a Jedi Padawan. Cailen has the tendency to become impatient if he sees no results from training or practice, but this stems from his desire to prove himself a worthy Jedi. Having been taken into the New Jedi Order at the age of 10, Cailen is old enough to remember his family, friends, and old life as a scrapper on Anaxes. He often reminisces his previous life and misses his family deeply. He tries to use those emotions for good, rather than letting them sway him from the Light Side. Cailen had never left Anaxes before becoming a Jedi, instilling in him a wanderlust for adventure and exploration. If he's not careful, who knows where Cailen could end up when he's lost in thought on an assignment.

  Commissioned by Valery Noble , the Starbird is one of four modified T-85 X-Wing starfighters specially designed for her Jedi Padawans by the Incom-FreiTek Corporation. It is currently registered to Jedi Padawan Cailen Corso.
  
  Based on the classic X-Wing model, the Modified Jedi T-85 is specially augmented to compliment a Jedi pilot’s Force abilities in combat via Force crystals found inside the cockpit. These crystals allow Jedi to focus their connections to the Force and each other when piloting the starfighter, resulting in stronger synchronization, faster reflexes, and enhanced tactical awareness. In addition to these modifications, the Modified T-85 X-Wing boasts an impressive arsenal of heavy laser cannons, dual proton torpedoes, and an enhanced targeting system. Equally powerful are the starfighter's defenses, which include a CP90 Durasteel hull with an impervium coating, bolstered by deflector and ion shielding.
  
  Despite its superior firepower and enhanced defenses, Cailen must take great care to avoid permanent damage to the hull; The heavy level of modifications to the Hornet has resulted in it being a nearly one-of-a-kind vessel that cannot be easily replaced. Minor damages and superficial issues can be easily repaired, however.​

  Strengths:
  
  • Jedi Pilot: Within the cockpit of the X-wing, Force Crystals are embedded that allow Jedi to sharpen their senses and connect their minds to other pilots in the squadron more easily through Telepathy. This modification can only be benefited from by Jedi pilots, are able to coordinate and perform much better because of the crystals and the telepathic network they can form.
  • Firepower: The X-wing is designed to be particularly useful for Jedi pilots, who can use their senses to be far more accurate. To benefit from this, the energy system and weapon-tuning onboard are designed to re-route a substantial amount of power to the weapons in attack position, thus giving the pilots a great deal of firepower to work with.
  • S-foils: The two S-foil settings allow the pilot a lot of flexibility. In the closed position, they can be fast and maneuverable to escape or intercept targets. While in attack position, they possess the firepower to be effective in combat.
  Weaknesses:
  
  • S-foils: When the S-foils are locked in the closed position, all power is drained away from the weapons. If the ships are caught in combat or an ambush while they are not in attack position, they will have no way to return fire.
  • Low number: Each X-wing is specifically designed to fit the Jedi pilots who they were meant for. While damage can be repaired, the loss of an X-wing would be problematic, as they are hard to replace. There are very few of these custom-made X-wings.
  • Weapon-tuning: While the heavy tuning of the weapon systems results in great firepower, they can quickly overheat if they are managed poorly. Long sustained bursts are therefore not recommended. In extreme cases, the intense heat will affect the weapons, causing lasting damage.
  • Force-nullification: Should the X-wing enter an area of space where the Force is nullified, the crystals will not function, thus removing the enhanced senses and telepathic abilities the pilot would otherwise experience.
