The day had finally arrived. Soon, Cailen would be meeting the third of Master Noble's Padawans. He'd trained alongside Iris, and had become thick as thieves with Silas, but even after several months of training as Valery's newest Padawan, he'd yet to meet the eldest of his Master's students: Briana Sal-Soren.

Cailen stepped out of the Alliance shuttle and took a deep breath of fresh air. The jungle world of Ossus was even more beautiful than he imagined. This marked the first time he'd set foot on Ossus, and just as with his initial visit to New Cov, the boy was amazed. The air was pleasantly temperate, and a gentle breeze carried with it the soothing scents of the forest. He was certain he'd never grow tired of seeing new planets.

Especially ones like this, with such deep history and meaning for the Jedi.

He bade farewell to the shuttle pilot before descending the landing platform stairs and heading for the temple. He kept his eyes open for Briana, though he felt she'd find him before he found her.

Since leaving for Coruscant to be fully integrated with the New Jedi Order, Briana hardly found the opportunity to return back to Ossus and visit the Praxeum where she first began her journey and got her feet wet as a Jedi - when the Galaxy still seemed simple and extravagant.

On the rare occasion that she found herself unoccupied from the entrapping's of her many responsibilities, Briana wound her way back to the Praxeum, staying on Ossus for extended periods if it could be managed.

The jungle world held a particular wonder in a Galaxy filled with the unusual, especially for the young Sal-Soren, who relished in the opportunities it presented beyond its deep rooted connection to the Force. From traversing the challengingly dense jungle pathways, meditating at Eye of Ashlanae, exploring ancient ruins, or training alongside new batches of Jedi hopefuls that would help strengthen the Jedi Order and the Galactic Alliance - there was no shortage of ventures to keep her engaged.

Bright sunlight streamed overhead as she exited the training facilities of the Northwest Tower, clipping her cyndrallic hilt to her belt as she made her way to the landing platform after the droid had brought summons of her fellow Padawan's arrival. While she could have instructed one of the droids to escort him to the Praxeum facilities, this was something Briana wanted to see to herself.

Cailen Corso was, like herself, one of Valery's students and someone she'd wanted to acquaint herself with for some time after hearing about him from both her Master and Iris. Briana was glad then, when he'd been willing to take up her invitation and come to Ossus. Hopefully, he would appreciate the change of scenery away from the bustling intensity and energy that filtered into every aspect of life at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.

She knew she did.

Spying him as she rounded the corner at a relaxed pace, she lifted a hand from out of her loose trousers and waved before making her way over. "You must be Cailen -" she started, extending her hand in greeting when she was close enough. "I'm Briana."

“Hi!” Cailen said, his face practically beaming.

He’d heard lots of stories about Briana, but now he was finally meeting her in person. It was like seeing a big sister he’d never had after a long journey that never happened.

“It’s nice to meet you,” he said as he stepped forward to meet her, shaking her hand with eagerness.

He looked around, taking in the fresh air and the breathtaking scenery. The jungles reminded him of New Cov, though they were markedly less intimidating. It dawned on him that this was only the second wild planet he’d set foot on, aside from Ilum perhaps — but ice and snow hardly compared to the never-ending stretches of emerald forests.

“I can’t believe you train here,” Cailen said in awe, his eyes twinkling with amazement.
