C O R U S C A N T

LEVEL 1295, DESCENDING
1754 LOCAL TIME

It was the passing by of the change of hue that woke him up. Pressed against the window, Nej wiped his eyes, watching streaks of blue and purple give way to reds and oranges. The train was descending another level, shuffling only slightly. The marvel of engineering was carrying him and several thousand other passengers simply from one end of the planet to the other. He assumed they were passing by the industrial food processing and agricultural levels, based on the level of UV lights he saw out the window.

The train's passengers were mostly asleep, most of them having gotten on several hours ago. His destination was still hours away, and hundreds, if not thousands, of miles. He sighed, rubbing his eyes and gathering himself to his feet.

He sat himself to the dining car, staring out the window, watching the planet pass by for a few more moments, before turning his head. A few other passengers crept in, taking their spots in the car, while a droid came to serve them all.

He blinked longer than he should have, turning his head. Dark-clothed passengers moved in unison behind the closing door, as if acting together, or getting into position. Or at least, his weary brain told him so. The droid came around, and he got a caf.

Something to stimulant the nerves.

Something to bring about the senseful part of him.

He looked up again. More movement, this time- more black clothed passengers took their seats amongst the dining car's compartments.

He unholstered the Disruptor pistol at his side, turning his head, watching each of them.

And he wasn't the only one....

OOC:

Jump in, let's find out what's going on- no specific plan yet. We'll weave it together.

Cailen knew he should’ve never explored this far into Coruscant’s undercity, but he couldn’t help himself. Back home, before he was a Jedi Padawan, he always dreamed of seeing the massive, sprawling megapolis of Coruscant; Now, he just wished he’d stuck to his master’s mission. Cailen tried to stay focused on the task at hand, but his concentration was disrupted by the sudden shifting around of dark-clothed passengers that gave him the creeps.

Cailen kept a careful eye on the strange passengers, glancing around the car every so often to see if any of the other train-goers found their behavior or appearance as unsettling as he did. That’s when Cailen saw Nej unholster his disruptor pistol.

The young Jedi raised his eyebrows at Nej, trying to gauge what sort of plan was being put into action, if any. Cailen slowly placed his hand on the hilt of his lightsaber and watched the strange passengers carefully as he assessed the situation.

(Hope that’s good! This is my first RP post)

He carefully watched the black clad individuals filter in, his pistol resting on his lap. He counted his odds. Not good.

He noticed a particular trend among them- high boots and heavy duty pants.

Swoop gangs.

He curled his hand around the grip of the pistol, before the door at the other end of the train opened.

Several non humans filtered in, clad in more or less shades of red. They stood opposite of each other.

Nej looked around. It was just him and the kid that weren't clearly aligned with someone. The ones in red stepped forward, nearly a dozen filtering in on their side. The same could be said for the numbers on the other side.

Words were spoken in some language, before it all went up in flames. One of the red ones produced a handgun, and then all hell broke loose.

There was an intense, brief, and very violent exchange of blaster fire and one attempt at a vibroblade stabbing. Within just a few seconds, both gangs lay either dead or wounded.

Poking his head up from under the table he ducked under, Nej looked at the carnage, pulling his pistol up in a defensive posture.

"Did they miss us or was it just me?" Nej counted on his permanently following (or so it seemed) luck, of which, saved him again.

Or two bit thugs and their half brained attempts at a showdown.

Gunfire erupted elsewhere on the train- seeming to engulf the entire train in a brutal firefight.

“No, they definitely missed us,” Cailen said as he stood up from behind a crate. “Who are these guys?” the Padawan asked. But as he finished his question, he heard the blaster shots and reached down for his lightsaber. He ignited the weapon, it’s blue blade illuminating the train car in a cyan hue.

“We should check for any civilians. Someone could be injured,” Cailen suggested.

He stood in a defensive position and glanced around the train car. Many of the strangely-dressed gunmen were dead, but a few cling to life. Cailen sighed and looked at Nej, awaiting his plan.

"Beats me kid!" He said, checking one of them both for valuable and any sign of who they were. The ones in black all had a common symbol on their left shoulder, while the red ones.... wore red.

Then, out of the blue, a blue lightsaber! Nej reasonably freaked out, squirming to his feet. "Jesus kid, you trying to light up the whole damn city?" He said, pointing at the lightsaber.

"Put that away, we already have enough problems without everyone freaking out about a Jedi.

Nej looked around the train car, then through the windows to the other cars.

No civilians. Weird.

He looked back at the kid.

"Hey... now that I think about it, did you see anyone else that wasn't a little shady?"

Cailen nervously shrugged before withdrawing his lightsaber blade.

"Actually, no... everyone here was dressed in either black or red. Strange..." Cailen said as he looked at the bodies. He tried to recall whether anyone dressed normally ever sat in the car. Apparently not, judging by the dead gang members littering the floor. After a few moments, Cailen spoke again.

"Sorry if I frightened you with my lightsaber," he said quietly. "My name's Cailen," he added.

Cailen started searching bodies as well.
