"5. Pull back and watch my six - I'm engaging." Reaching just barely into the future, Ari's reflexes jerked her into a hard spin as the Ugly started firing back at her, returning fire in the joust as a few shots hit her shield - lighting up her vision. "Just keep her wingmates off of me," She said behind grit teeth as she dodged and wove through the incoming hail of fire and saw the fighter pass by. She'd maintain the joust until the last second, being sure to pass close by the enemy, bringing her own figher around to challenge. It seemed she'd come head to head with a pilot that was as good as she was. Mere jousting and rolling wasn't going to cut it this time.

Pressing her engines to the full position, the extreme acceleration of the fighter pressing her to her seat against the weak efforts of compensators set at the minimum safe level, she pulled her A-wing into a climb, rolling over as she did so and pulling back down to climb in the other direction, trying to loop around and catch the Chir'daki's tail. Once she could get anything approximating a shot she'd fire a short burst across the Deathseed's S-foils, hoping to damage her weapons or cannons.

Her headset was full of call-outs as the remaining A-wings engaged the other Chir'dakis, Nemesis 5 engaging the one who was covering her own six. Their superior speed and maneuvering somewhat mitigated the disadvantage they held in numbers, but even so they were fighting an uphill battle. Even in the heat of her own battle, Ari caught a glimpse of 4 as his fighter was strafed astern by one of the Uglies, an unlucky hit overloading the starfighter's fusion reactor causing it to burst into a nova of light. Damn, another one down. Switching her comms to an open channel to taunt her current opponent, Ari keyed her mic and opened with a laugh. "You're going to pay for that one."

Equipment: The Dark Sacraments, Apostle's Vestments

He watched as another Mawite Shuttle appeared. It lasted only a short time before Vanagor used his considerable mastery of the force to crush the vessel like a tincan and engulf it in a web of electrical energy. When the Shuttle imploded completely it seemed as though Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor was putting the icing on the cake.

It was impressive to be sure, Kol would actually raise one of his hands so that he could shield himself from the display of electrical power that cooked the occupants of the Shuttle while the telekinetic force crushed it completely. Not a pleasant way to die to be sure but Mawites were savages, many of them living to kill, cause pain and repeat and now they were reclaimed by the Void. This is what the Dark Apostle believed anyways.

There was the Twi'lek Assassin that Vanagor dispatched too. No loss. While Vanagor was standing across from him atop the crumbling spire of this skyscraper countless other Assassins, Marauders and Acolytes were loose in the streets of Cinnagar below. If all Kol had to do was stand here and occupy the Jedi Master so that a thousand others could perform their bloody work it was not a task he would shy away from.

Standing at a distance Kol didn't make any indication that he would reach for either of the 'Dark Sacraments' or summon them to one of his hands. He stood across from Vanagor, his feet shifting over the cracked and crumbling structure of the skyscraper beneath his feet while further explosions and laser fire from the battle raging across the whole of the cityscape rocked the structure of the building. Mawites inside the building were likely repositioning themselves. On the roof it was relatively sparse now besides the two of them.

"When we first met I said that our meeting was no mistake, that we were fated to meet one another several times."

...Kol shrugged...

"It seems this is the second of those meetings."

...doubtless Vanagor could have turned it back on Kol, told him he was the one droning on now. He'd started to move though, walking well out of the Jedi's reach as though he were attempting to circle around him with arms outstretched to either side as though in offering. It was a pose not uncommon for Kol to take.

He maintained it as he moved until focusing the ambient force that flowed between them into the palm of one of his hands and dropping to a knee. Thrusting his open palm into the shredded and compromised remnants of the skyscrapers roof he'd create a sudden burst of concussion force. The Energy expanded outwards quickly and died just as quickly like a variation of Force Repel however rather than create an area effect that hurled his enemies away from him the Dark Apostle had focused as much of the force as possible into his hand.

The Explosion would rip into the rooftop, sunder what remained of it and exploit the weakness of the remaining integrity. The rooftop should crumble, collapsing underneath Vanagor and Kol and sending them both into the interior of the skyscraping spire beneath their feet...

His blade was stopped short. It crackled against the blade of Jax Thios, his quick action saving the young padawan from a grisly fate. Sparks flew from the point of connection, a sharp hiss emanating as the two opposing energy currents struggled against one another. But, as quickly as they had connected, the two blades shoved off from each other with a concussive rush of air. The young Jedi Master capitalized on this by thrusting his hand out towards the Dark Lord, the power of the Force crashing against His chest and billowing the Sith's cloak out in a wide fan behind Him.

But He did not budge.

"Jaxon Thios," spoke the creature hiding behind the leering mask. Though similar to that voice he encountered on Dromund Kaas, it was far darker with another speaker's voice laced throughout it. It would have been impossible for Jax to recognize this second voice, though he would have been able to determine that it was distinctly feminine.

The Dark Lord flourished His blade and then allowed the billowing cloak to settle around His body, until only His head and right arm could be seen extended from the black curtain. In the period before that, Jax would have been able to see the dark armor lashed to the Dark Lord's body, an intricate latticework of masterfully wrought metal plates etched with shadowy runes that dimly glowed red. There was little about the Dark Lord's armor that was technological advance, but it was clear that it had been forged for one purpose.

War.

"I have been waiting for you, Jaxon Thios. You had rejected your destiny on Dromund Kaas, but perhaps now you will accept the truth on Empress Teta." Last time, the Dark Lord had attempted to entice Jax into inadvertently killing all the people that He had ensorcelled with a dark Sith artifact. That ploy had failed, but those people had died all the same. It was unknown what vile scheme the Dark Lord had planned for Jax now, but it was undoubtedly monstrous. Death and destruction radiated off of the Dark Lord in palpable waves, enough to choke the bravery from even the most hardy of men.

Meanwhile, the Crownguard were methodically killing those that remained at Iris' side. Their heavy mag-coil wired armor deflecting blaster fire and even protecting them from broad swipes of a Jedi's lightsaber. The magnetic field around their armor could only be penetrated by a direct thrust, one that was right on the mark and didn't deflect off. Their weapons were like the ones wielded by Jedi Knights, but configured into thin, broad blades like that of a traditional sword. Exceptionally lethal, these blood-red weapons cut through anything that they connected with, hewing off limbs and stabbing through armor and flesh. And they all moved silently, like grim harvesters reaping the wheat of the field.

"Or perhaps," continued the Dark Lord, "You will die here along with the others."

“Hold steady.”

What the kark do you think I've been doing?

It took every fiber of her being, every sliver of respect and dignity the years had instilled in her, not to pick up a microphone and scream into the line.

Qellene's muscles were made tense by her nervousness, made weak by the long hours she'd spent trapped in a glass crate the Alliance dared to call a cockpit.

Her legs extended, pressing against the only surface under the dashboard that wouldn't send her spiraling into a nearby bulkhead or one of her squadron mates.

Eighteen hours spent in the lifeless husk of a derelict, waiting for Revenant Squadron's prey to pass by the gaps in the hull, waiting to plunge forth and put a fiery knife to the necks of the butchers of Csilla, the sackers of Coruscant. The Brotherhood had been permitted to get away in the latter battle-- they wouldn't again, not if Qellene had anything to say about it.

The Pamarthen's reddened eyes twitched in sudden excitement as eleven blurry shapes drew into focus, passing by mere tens of meters from the hull of the derelict liner. She recognized the three TIE Hunters at the lead, but the eight fighters at the rear of the group were unknown models.

Didn't matter. There was little chance they weren't at least allies of the Brotherhood, as repulsive as that idea sounded.
"Passives just confirmed-- Eleven contacts. What's next, commander?" she opened a line, her voice still bearing a tone of annoyance and unease from just minutes ago. A rigid hand hovered centimeters from her A-wing's yolk. The end of her boot lowered toward the accelerator.

Waiting for the order to engage.

Faith was taking it easy her shoulder still hurt and the effects had not yet worn off. She smiled and nodded a lot but in truth the shot had taken a lot more from her. It may yet take her life.

She was walking up to one of the homes in the district reminding herself of what was needed, before she could knock on the door she was met by a servant. "Madam"

Faith nodded, "yes I'm here to evacuate anyone who wishes to"

"My employer wishes you to know they are loyal to Empress Teta, they will not be leaving." Faith nodded, "That's all fine and well but will they feel the same when the Sith come knock on their door and demand they vacate their home, or when you live with a monarchy with no power, and no ability to fight."

The man a rather sad long faced fellow did not even flinch. It was as if he had rehearsed this speech in other situations for his employers.

"We will only be in this neighborhood for a bit we have to move quickly, anyone can come just need to get to a ship. Ships are going to Alderaan from there any place can be chosen."

"thank you, but no" the door closed slowly Faith turned she understood this was their home its hard to leave home.

"Let's keep going next house"

"Here you go with that destiny chit!" Jax wasn't surprised that Carnifex barely flinched from his Force Push. This wound in the Force stood over Jax speaking in different voices one his own and a female voice that he didn't recognize Was it one of the souls that Carnifex had absorbed? It didn't matter, it was obviously made to mess with Jax's head nothing more.

"The truth," Jax retorted. "Is that we're beating at every major battle, we've won at Jedha and Jakku and we've gotten over the sacking of Courscant. The only thing you've succeeded is uniting the Galactic Alliance and New Jedi Order against the Sith. Your vast Sith Empire is starting crumble as we speak, Carnifex."

He thought of Spasa Spasa and how she was finally free from Carnifex's grip, he thought of Valery Noble Valery Noble and how she was able to get her husband away from this thing. The light always shone brightest on the darkest hour and right now it was driving back the Sith. Jax growled seeing the Crownguard starting to mow down soldiers as well as focusing on Iris. He couldn't just her die, but he couldn't disengage Carnifex. "I've died once," Jax said facing Carnifex. "Got bored and decided to come back to life, I don't fear death anymore."

The Jedi Master rushed towards Carnifex unleashing a flurry of slashes and stabs each blow aiming at random areas of his body. He needed to find a weakness, anything that he can exploit. The only thing Jax can hope was to trust that Iris can hold her own. "She is trained by Valery," Jax thought. "She'll be fine."

He stood there, so disconnected from the core of the situation as the former master and student made their remarks to one another. He was the extra, the added addition, the one that came after, the one to find himself cast aside should Jem be returned to his side. His features scrunched and narrowed, from the creases on his forehead to the clench of his teeth. Corin was tense, and it remained so difficult to discern whether it was the nerves of a true test of skill or the fire that storm that near-thundered beneath the surface.

Corin returned a similar narrowed look back towards his Master, he readied himself to follow one command and still remained so unsure of the other. Had their success as two ensured his own loss as one? He wished he had all the chance to dimiss all the intrusive ideas that flashed before him, but there was no time but the here and now.

His weakened resolve had turned him into a moldable mass of flesh and bone.

In a silent rush of his own, Trenor mimicked Kaze as the blue blade hissed into existence. Beside the other Jedi, Corin bounced into the air and made the motion of an overhead attack, as if in effort to rid the fresh Sith of her arm.

EMPRESS TETA
IRON CITADEL

cj2JhgK.png
They prevailed at Jedha.

But could not hold the line at Xa Fel and Selvaris. The Inner Rim and the Core would have their peace disturbed by the grave news of the Maw breaking through with their offensive. Their illusion of security and comfort destroyed, thinking such high profile worlds could weather through the storm. If anything, they should have learned by now that after Coruscant no place had a guarantee or safety.

Despite these major losses, it should inspire and encourage others to not lower their blades. The Nautolan, battered and tired, did not falter from his duties. Always seeking the Darkness and extinguishing it with his might. While he severed ties with the Senate and other federal institutions of the Alliance, he still upheld his oath in defending systems from the oppression of the Dark Side and to put an end to its diabolical machinations.

The fight would take him to Empress Teta, along with his Padawan. Like his master before him, he was not afraid to expose his apprentice to the perils of war. This was not her first fight, after all. She had grown ever since they first encountered each other. What was once the shy and timid Mirialan was now a confident and trained Jedi. Indoctrinated by his teachings, the two were probably the odd ones from their peers. Zealous and unapologetic in their mission; their crusade.

Upon the ramparts of the Iron Citadel, Master and Apprentice carved through whatever barbarians came in their path. Mercy to such degenerates would never bring peace to the Chaos. The Jedi were archaic and obsolete in offering compassion and mercy to wretched scum; such morality was often taken advantage of, and would oftentimes bring the destruction to the Jedi and to the people they swore to protect.

Rhis would not make those mistakes as his predecessors and peers, nor would Xashe.

“You are doing great,” giving encouragement and morale to his student. “Don’t let down,” while his saber cleaved through a Mawite, pushing the way for the duo.

THE IRON GIANT WALKS | EMPRESS TETA | CINNEGAR
blood.png

Bernard split the sea of black just as a bloodied soldier emerged from the eclipse. Ishida couldn’t make out what they were saying over the din of the battle, but for a half-a-heart beat, she felt hesitation’s breathless sting. How to help? Could she help? What would be the cost of help?

She didn’t know the face, just like she’d not known the one on Selvaris. And she never would. It didn’t matter, really. Another bloodied composition of anatomy would be counted up as a statistic of sacrifice at the end of the day.

He who had been limping suddenly became airborne, and Ishida felt all reserves of potential mercy leave her in a rush as she realized the trajectory of the weaponized version of hesitation. What she couldn’t hear before suddenly became sharp, rapid and shrill. Ping—ping-ping-pingpingpingPING!

The hand that had gone for her sabre adjusted, widened and thrust forward with a push against the body’s trajectory toward the soldiers within her tank. It threw it off course, backward a bit, but it still ripped apart when the timer ran out.

Instantly, the offensive hand was joined by her other — two flat palms facing outward to stretch out a gossamer dome that stretched over her repulsortank, and halfway to Bernard’s. The explosion cored through the dead-man-walking, its effects shaking against the force-born shield. Fire stretched over the half-dome, puffing out in orange and yellow plumes where the crescent stopped. The impact consumed the strength of her barrier, and it fell away back to nothing as shadows lifted from the smoke — dark-clad offensives airborne and swooping in for malicious mayhem.

Soldiers more liberally situated than the tank’s confinement sought to track down the airborne targets, firing once they thought they had the silhouettes in their scopes.

At the same time, plasma pounding durasteel screeched overhead and behind her, the Titan aglow with several attacks from a smattering of random locations. Civilian locations that had been compromised to The Maw.

Ishida grimaced through it. More statistical sacrifices.

At the same time, the blueish domes that had captured Ishida’s attention earlier disappeared and the beasts within were set free to roam. The shapes scuttled from their azure prisons until two-pronged arms crunched into the hood of the tank Ishida was surfing. She was forced forward while the cannon of the machine forced itself at the improvised angle and boomed out an eruption of defensive fire. Ishida rolled with the shift, her sabre activated as she slipped from the turret to the hull, near the barrel of the main gun — part of it had been peeled away like paper, and part of the crew inside could be seen like a cutaway design. Still, despite the random ribbons of uneaten metal, she didn’t stop until she crossed her sabre through a claw of the hungry creature, burning against its barely-charred carapace from the earlier explosion.

Some of the crewmen inside saw the opportunity (or were desperate) and used their personal firearms to discharge through the fissures at the underbelly of the creature. Small swells of colour started to show from the less protected area, but the creature’s self-preservation and hunger made it too quick to kill from a few blaster bolts and a random cut from a Jedi.

It reared, not to retreat from the salvo, but to strike again at the tank. It stabbed and made purchase.

<Optics are lost!> She heard a shout as the machine shuddered.

<Glacis plate is gone!>

At the same time, the atmosphere churned — static sputtered and snapped amidst the dark rolling fog — and a feeling of darkness zoomed and transferred, materializing in a pounding downward thrust to the tank adjacent to hers.

Whatever happened next to her was unseen. Her focus vibrated, hazed, and she slipped. The shock to the path of the tank shook Ishida and made her lose her balance. To stop herself from falling to the ground, she was gripped out wildly, latching onto the canon of the vehicle to swing herself back around it and balance on the main offensive extension in a crouch.

The main gun fired again, regardless of the Jedi balancing on it, and Ishida was shaken, again, back to the hull by the vibrations, landing on her butt and elbows. The percussive blast was enough to give her a few seconds to rationalize the monster situation at least. These were nigh-impenetrable creatures, defeat would be akin to recognizing the sensitivities in the Bryn’adûl’s structures. Typically joints, underbellies, and necks — soft tissues unprotected by their carapaces. The discoloured belly of the one nearest to her helped support her on-the-fly analogy.

While one staggered from the tank’s blow, its companion hungrily and greedily advanced on the empty space — those inside the tank were too busy trying to stabilize and keep on their path to take the same opportunity they’d had earlier. Unhindered, the Seeratteri was prepared to feast.

With a twisting motion of her hands, an invisible gust whooshed from either side of the tank and converged like an arrow at the point of impact. An unseen manipulation swirled beneath the feet of the creatures, lifted them, and tossed the pair — one wounded, one not — back several meters from the tank’s path. It didn’t end them, not at all, but perhaps it would disorient the beasts enough to get the tanks to advance.

And advance they did, despite the one Ishida was travelling on was significantly damaged and its smoke from the impact was starting to fill her lungs.

Throwing the enemy from its course was not a permanent solution, more of a time-buying tactic. Time bought enough to see through the smoke —both the darkside’s clouds and the puffs from the repulsortank’s borked up hull — and glare at the emerging shape.

His face had changed, but the brief overlap on her psyche and its obscure resonance on her memory hadn’t.

A foe she’d faced twice before, interrupted each time. Once Sardun, once Inosuke. A conclusion was surely deserved.

"This is no fairy tale, where the heroine dashes off to get vengeance."

But Master Sardun was not here, was he?

The lithe Jedi pushed herself up on her elbows, then swiftly transferred her weight from her knees to a full stand aboard her crunched-up tank. Her duty was not vengeance today. It was something else.

Her weight transferred, and she leapt from the tank to land between the exposed tank and the mangled Warlord. She stood, and adjusted her footing from landing to something more combat-ready.

With a flick of her wrist, her sabre rotated in a semi-circle behind her before sweeping forward in a gesture that mirrored the one he’d used the last time she’d met him on the battlefield. A technique that had goaded her into launching first.

A technique worth borrowing if it meant giving her the space to think before acting. Sardun would be proud.

Right?

A lifetime of pride swelled at the base of her throat, and through the chaos around her, Ishida's monofocus took over and labelled the more-machine-than-man as duty.

"We never got the chance to finish."

The debris from the explosions and blasts came down around her, immediately forcing Chassella to dive back in the alley in order to avoid being turned into pulp. Even then, the falling chunks of duracrete and metal came too close for comfort, but in quickly activating her energy shield, she had unknowingly saved herself from a particularly large piece of debris that might have struck her directly on the head. Instead, the object bounced off the projected barrier and broke into pieces, as Chassella knelt down and covered her head. However, many more fell in its wake, raining down from above like a bloodthirsty storm for what seemed like over a minute, but in reality was only a few seconds.

Glancing up after the last of the debris had fallen, it didn’t take long for the Elzeri to see that many of those around her had been less fortunate, with only a lucky few managing to survive unharmed. Groaning, Chassella picked herself up from the ground, now feeling truly invigorated in the wake of her survival.

It was as if the dark side itself had gazed into her soul and judged her worthy of survival. She felt as if the way was clear towards completing her obligation, since there would be very little interference or competition from the other initiates. Feeling a renewed sense of optimism, Chassella sensed that her obligation would be complete within the hour, allowing her to return to Exegol with proof of her kill in hand and her admission into the Church secure.

“YAAAAAHOOOOOO!”

Snarling in annoyance, Chassella pivoted around to face the newcomer as he landed, her sharp, mismatched eyes sizing up his boyish features and taking in his cybernetic arm in the process. Immediately, the Elzeri sensed an easy kill, but not one that could be admitted for her obligation.

In other words, a waste of time and energy.

“Good guy or bad guy?”

“That depends. Are you just going to stand there or are you going to get out of my way?” The elfin assassin hissed, as she pulled one of her Whipblades from its place on her back, primed to lash out towards the young man.

“If not, I won’t mind killing you.”

<"Do you have any other objections to my deserved title, Cur? Or maybe I should finish the transformation and eat your flesh and drink your blood too?">

"Lady, my boyfriend's party trick is way more impressive than yours, only dangerous thing about you is your edgy attitude." Shai idly remarked with a wave of her hand before flying off. Her mind immediately went to Xyoz Maji Xyoz Maji as she flew. That lady was probably also Sangnir... either that, or some really wack thing she never heard before. She needed to find him when this was over.

Still... there wasn't an ounce of fear or even interest from the Cur of clan Krayt as she glanced over one last time, an unamused scoff escaping her.

cmnnlqZ.png

The man came straight at her as she rocketed towards him, his blade raised high to slash at her. Her left arm raised into the air and, in the blink of an eye, her Beskar shield deployed to block his blow as she let loose with a repulsor blast to send him back down. Another figure appeared as well, one far more familiar to the Wardog than Carni's crotch goblin.

"Two of 'em? Hot damn, you're popular today, mutt. Five bucks says they're bed buddies."

"Karkin' obviously. Look at 'em." She grumbled, continuing to maintain her position in the air. However, this was far too interesting to fight at range. Her jetpack cut out and she landed on the ground, her visor glaring at the woman. "Listen here you pretentious karkin' harpy, you don't know me!" She shouted, her shield collapsing back into itself as she holstered a pistol. She started to pace, carefully watching the two of them. "Look at you. To think I saw Jedi as the heroes of the galaxy... the war is OUT THERE! The Mongrel and hordes of the Maw are there! Yet you think fighting only me is more important than saving people from THEM." She barked, reaching up to draw a sword from her back. A sword she held onto as a trophy even after her capture.

The Mongrel's broadsword, left in her gut after she fought him on Csaus. Defeated him, no matter how hard he tried to throw Roon in her face.

"Are you seriously gonna go toe to toe with Jedi in a melee fight?"

"Come on then, kiddos! Let's see if y'all can dance." She gave the blade a twirl as she marched towards them. Though she had another plan as well. In the span of a few seconds, every whistling bird in her boots deployed to target the two Jedi before she blasted towards them, her jetpack letting her hover just above ground for extra movement. "You stink of anger and fear, so much for no emotion, huh!?" They weren't afraid of her. No way in hell, Jedi were too tough for that. No, they were afraid of something else.

Her first swing was targeted at Valery. The crotch goblin could wait, uppity forcies like her deserved a slashed throat far more... though she didn't leave him be entirely. The pistol still in her hand flicked to particle rounds and let loose with a few explosive bolts, aimed at his center mass.

The last time the Sith and Jedi met over Empress Teta it had been for the surrender of the world when the One Sith fell on Coruscant, an act of self-preservation that both Nadja and the then Empress of Teta had believed was in its peoples best interest. For all that she had admired her friend in life for it was perhaps for her ability to set aside her pride and dignity in order to do what she thought was best for the continued peace and prosperity of her people. She was unlike her in so many ways, small in stature and mousy in appearance, but that difference ran much further than skin-deep. Lily wouldn't have joined an effort like this to take back their home, she had accepted the loss of the Iron Citadel in a way that Nadja would not. In a strange twist of fate the woman that had grown up happy to have been able to avoid taking the throne was now prepared to fight tooth and nail to take it back.

It was just a shame that the woman who had led this planet out of turmoil and into prosperity wasn't alive to see it happen.

"We will be emerging from hyperspace momentarily, ma'am."

She nodded her head, though whether she was acknowledging the crewmember's report or her cousin's - Alars Keto Alars Keto - was ambiguous at best. The two of them had essentially spoke at the same time, Alars vanishing from view as his hologram faded. " Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen will no doubt be more than happy to have the Krath arrive to help take the core." Nadja said as she cut the open line she had with those that had chosen to assault the planet directly, something she could not personally take part in. "Make sure that he knows we've arrived." She added as the ship began to lurch, emerging from hyperspace.

"He has been kept waiting long enough."

The representatives of the Light side are not all Jedi, nor are the representatives of the Dark side all the Sith. The Force had a lot of followers. That’s why she didn’t think of her opponent as a Sith yet, just a simple Darksider. It didn't really matter, just that he was here as an enemy. It could have been a Jedi or an Imperial Knight, Rhys would have tried to protect the population of Empress Teta from them, they would have arrived as enemies.

She was a soldier; it was her job, her duty. If necessary, protect civilians, the people of the planet and the Galactic Alliance even at the cost of her life. Rhys knew there were two little children who waited at their mommy home, the little girls, the twins. Nevertheless, there was no fear in her of the impending battle. Rhys never feared for her own life; maybe that’s exactly what made the red-haired woman such a determined and good soldier. However, her friends and family were a different question. She worried about them, and feared something happened to them. But not herself.

The GA soldiers dealt with the marauders, so Rhys only needed to pay attention to the man. The first shot shattered the defensive field created from the Force. And that’s exactly why she had the opportunity to shoot again, and with that, she shot her opponent in the chest. However, exactly what she was expecting happened. The man did not die. It would be too easy. Instead, however, he landed metres away after a somersault. Rhys snarled.

Although her husband had also trained her to use the Force, she was more familiar with more practical things, although from the Sith sorcery she learned a lot, not really liking to use. For understandable reasons. She was always proud to be neutral despite her temperamental and passionate character. Last but not least, she was not proud that her husband was a Sith Lord. Although she knew him even when he was a Jedi. Though it was just a lie, Xeth E'ron pretended to be a Jedi like Keth E'ron and spy in their ranks for years, and as a bodyguard, he looked after Rhys, who was Carnifex's grandson.

So she didn’t have a very nice background, but she fully stood up for the Republic and the Galactic Alliance. Rhys didn’t have time to put new ammo in the shotgun, and the rifle mode wasn’t really effective against a lightsaber, so she hung the gun on her shoulder and took the lightsaber in her hand. She sensed through the Force that all her soldiers and his marauders had died. Then she wanted to activate his lightsaber and speak back to the man with a mocking remark, but she could feel the telekinetic pull.

She tried to resist immediately, managed to stop after a few steps, but Ptolemis had started toward her so far. She didn’t have time to react, so the man was able to plant his knee in the woman’s stomach. Rhys groaned in pain and fell to her knees. The lightsaber fell out of her hand, but the woman did not despair. She threw herself sideways in a military manner, then tried to kick Ptolemis' leg with her own as well, sweep the Sith's feet so that the man could get to the ground. Hopefully there will be less opportunity to use his spells and lightsaber there.

“Actually,” Tithe replied to Auteme. “That’s, uhh, exactly what I’m doing.”

The Aargauun was not, contrary to popular belief, addicted to lying. Sure, his record in both the Alliance Senate and the boardrooms of the galaxy were characterised by falsehoods, double-dealings, and outright corruption. However, making unfathomable amounts of credits was ultimately about people, and he liked to think he had a sense when it came to people. Since they’d first met on Bastion during the fall of the Sith Empire, Tithe had come to accept that Auteme somehow knew him better than most people in the galaxy. Lying to her would be a waste of breath.

Besides, he was the Chancellor of the Galactic Alliance, what could she do?

“I must get back to Coruscant,” he explained as his Senate Commandos continued to escort the fleeing civilians off the starliner. Again, that wasn’t a lie. “We must respond, yes, a unified response.” Indeed, his first holocalls upon reaching Alliance One would be to the Chair of the Committee on Defense to receive an update on the Brotherhood attack, and whether it was part of a larger attack.

Well, his second call at least. First, he would need to contact his business droid Rieki and review his investments on Empress Teta to decide if they should hold or sell any assets he had based here.

An explosion rang out across the docking bay as an Alliance starfighter crashed into one of the archaic palace spires. Smoke rose from the city where raging battles between the Alliance and Brotherhood were taking place. In the distance an enormous walker could be seen moving between the towers of the cityscape, opening fire on Brotherhood positions. The beautiful city of Cinnagar was slowly being torn apart, and Tithe did not intend to be here when it finally fell.

“Now, how about this,” he suggested. “Come with me. Yes, you are - after all - most pursuasive. Together we can rally the Core and our allies against this heinous, yes, most heinous attack.”

Kyell wasn't sure what drew the attention of the Sith to him — perhaps they did view him as a threat, a fun challenge, or maybe just an easy target to wipe away on the current path of destruction. Whatever it was, he felt the dark aura of the Sith Lord appear at the top of the walker, and his malice reached out through the Force like an abundance of dissonant tones in a beautiful symphony.
It felt wrong, and the hairs on Kyell's neck began to rise instantly.
But there was no way back now, no escape and if he were to somehow make it out of here, he'd be condemning so many more people to their deaths. So, with all the courage he could muster, the young Jedi began a series of Force-augmented jumps to bring him up to the top of the walker, where he found himself staring the Ubese Sith down.
Naturally, not a single word was spoken, but Kyell's gaze said it all — he was here to fight for those who could not.
The green plasma of his lightsaber came up, resting horizontally and directed forward at the side of his chin. From this traditional Soresu stance, he simply awaited the Sith's first move. He knew that if he were to try and be aggressive, this Sith would slaughter him, but a more defensive approach could hopefully provide opportunities. Or maybe just enough time to get help.
Either way, Kyell Laysel stood ready for his first battle with the Sith.

Fighter Complement
2 squadron of 12 Chir'daki
Lead fighter painted white with similar marking to Khione

A flash to her right signalled the firey death of another Chir'daki pilot as she pushed her own fighter hard, the flaming wreckage, still carrying its momentum flashed across in front of her and the tailing a-wing just behind her between Khione and her own pursuer. In a swirling melee of high performance fighters and their laser canon bolts, fractions of a second could mean life or death

Khione span her foils as the opponent lined up their shot but the skill of Ari Naldax Ari Naldax paid off "Kark it!" she swore as her datascreen shower one of her for cannons had been hit and failed. She didn't even think as she flipped switches to reroute power to the other canons and isolated the faulty cannon from internal systems.

"Cheeky fether!" she grinned to herself as the messaged came through on her comms, the other pilot was right on her tail, something needed to be done about that.

Khione blew all of the air out of her lungs, tensed her body and hit the deceleration thrusters HARD. She felt her flight suit tighten around her, trying to keep her organs in the right place and the huge G forces spiked and the a-wing whizzed past her, the sudden change in momentum and relative speeds would catch even a jedi off guard, but she knew she needed to regain focus quickly, she had probably 10 seconds before the momentum of the A-wing would take it beyond her effective range, probably less once the pilot realised what had happened.

She hit her own thrusters again to tail the faster ship, attempting to give herself as much time as possible before it escaped her or turned away. At the same time, Khione squeezed her triggers, unleashing the three remaining heavy laser cannons towards the rear of the ace. Realising she was still holding her breath from the maneuver she inhaled and spoke again "come her you little....!" Her beams seared out towards the enemy, hoping to hit or at least disabled it.

She replied through the open comm, in dog fighting terms and age had past, but in reality it was less that 15 seconds since the alliance pilot spoke "how about I pay up when your corpse is floating in space?"

She laughed and continued to try and get a bead on the enemy. Damn she hated fighting a-wings.

  • Things have slipped.
  • Mercy hears the rest of her personalities, even the Freedom she killed.
  • Keilara(?) and Ziare(?) force Mercy to ask Mongrel what fate the man intends for her in the event of his death.
  • She cannot bear the screams any longer and the kid reveals to the soldiers Mercy is there, and they can reveal her position.

As I made my way toward the building from which I felt the call, I heard the voices of Ziare and even Keilara more and more. If I hadn’t known they existed, I would have thought I was crazy. Would I have been crazy? In a normal society, that would certainly have been said. I snarled and angrily clenched my fists. Each of their words was like a damn knife into my soul. I never asked him that. I didn't want to, but they wanted to.

"Shut up!" I hissed.

Let enough to her, that she is able to be with Kallan! While all the work stays left for me and I have to persevere! I need to bear everything! ALONE! But no, they didn't stop. They asked me more and more as I began to hear another whisper, another sound. No, it wasn't Kallan, Mongrel, or maybe Barran. It was Freedom!

~ No! I killed you when I was released, you can't be here! ~ I snarled.

She looked at me empty, blank look and laughed. Meanwhile, I also felt the voices of my other two personalities get louder. I heard clearly what they wanted. I did not want to! I felt their demand. But it can’t be, the shields were strong, still strong. And I was one of the strongest of us three! They had no power over me! NO!

~ ASK HIM! ~ she ordered, no, this wasn't real. Ziare wasn't like that!

What is this place? However, I felt my body and my will not obey me, but what Ziare said. But not! I didn’t want to ask him, not at this moment. I screamed in despair in my thoughts and only hoped that neither Mongrel nor Kallan heard it. However, I have already clearly said and sent my next words to The Mongrel The Mongrel .

~ And what is the fate you want for me? What will be my fate if you die first? What do you want me to do? ~ my voice was hoarse and full of pain. ~ You have your heir, your successor, but me? What about me, my love? You want me to follow you to paradise by martyrdom and be with you there forever, or … ~ I've never called him my love…

Damn it Ziare! I felt all her weaknesses as my tears kept flowing in my face, not only in reality, but in my mind as well. Nothing ever hurts as much as uttering these words. No torture, nothing I had to endure in life. As my body obeyed the calling and moved to the direction, I grabbed my helmet with my hands and clenched my teeth. Each step was getting harder and more painful.

~ HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP! ~ it screamed again.

I fell to my knees with bleeding noses, ears, and eyes as I screamed in thought again. I heard the voices of the guards nearby. No, no, no, no!

"There's one inside, under a cloaking device! She's still on her feet, according to the child. This is the strongest so far. You know your duty!" he said.

The next moment, an EMP beam passed through the garden, even where I was. And my camouflage device shutted down. I couldn’t move, the screams in my head were too loud and the soldiers surrounded me with raised weapons.

"We got her! We bring her in, the doctor will be happy for her!" he said again.

I wanted to laugh, I doubt they could show me worse than what Tu'teggacha was… instead of the laugh I was still trying to squeeze my head to soothe the pain. No, I can't be taken prisoner, I have to save him… I have to take care of him…

-Ground floor, please exit the elevator now.-

The elevator door creaked open to a now empty and forlorn reception area; suitcases and paper were strewn about with streaks of blood adorning the once ornate walls and furniture. Several bodies fell out of the elevator in a confused mangled heap, and a bloodied Rika followed behind, falling atop the mass of bodies with her hammer in hand. She pulled herself up, leaning against the wall for support and clutching her side in pain as she looked around for any sign of life. No one, not a soul, remained in the building besides Kyrels beasts; whatever had happened at the entrance had long since passed. But from the signs of suitcases strewn about, overturned tables and chairs, and blood abound everywhere; a massacre had occurred. But, she asked herself, where were the bodies?

That was something she didn't want to find out, so she moved as best she could, dropping the hammer in the pile of corpses and stumbling for the exit. The distant thrum of explosions rocked the distance, along with the roars and cries of fighting and slaughter throughout the city as the Mawites flooded each and every district. As Rika moved down the steps of the hotel, a flurry of civilians ran past her in a panic, nearly knocking her over and taking her by surprise. She looked down the street, seeing a cloud of dust enveloping and moving in her direction at an alarming rate. Rika ran with the crowd, pushing and shoving her way past the panicking Tetans, who ran headfirst into a massacre that was taking place at the four-way of the district. Mawites and civilians mixed in a confused sea of violence, with people being trampled by others in a panic to get away from the Mawites who were slaughtering and eating people at will like foxes in a chickens pen. Pressed on all sides by the frightened hurdle of civilians, Rika looked around desperately for a means of escape or some form of getaway. Just then, amidst the chaos on the four-way, a man was trying to start up a speeder bike across the sidewalk. She seized the moment and began shuffling and pushing through the mob, throwing civilians in the direction of hungry undead to buy herself time as she edged nearer and nearer by the moment.

Rika squirmed and freed herself, emerging from the crowd and running for the speeder, the man desperately trying to turn it on looked up and ate a solid sucker punch from Rika, who jumped on the speeder bike and started it up. She weaved in and out of the masses, mentally blocking out the hideous screams of the man she had just punched as he got torn apart on the curb. Her destination wasn't the nearest evac ship but rather the palace itself, who's spires stuck above the black smoke and fire that had enveloped it in the distance.

She was here for Kyrel. On orders from COMPNOR.

Iris_Sig.png

No.

The calm Iris had melted away as she realized just how outclassed they all were. Around her the minds she touched filled with panic and fear as they were cut down. Too much, too quick. The meld turned their fear into hers. Their hate into hers. Their anger, hers. She couldn't protect them, she couldn't even deal with the one in front of her. Precision and methodical planning turned to hasty strikes. But her blade was battered away, time and time again. The shots that were meant to cover her did nothing. They couldn't pierce the armor.

They weren't going to survive this, not everyone.

<Run, get reinforcements.> She spoke to the soldier behind her through the meld. Then cut it. They were all sharing each others panic and pain. Iris tightened her hand on her blade to stop it from shaking as she brought her blade around. Trying to parry the strikes coming at her, only to be battered back. They were too heavy. Every time the broadsaber was caught by her blade she stumbled back, barely had the time to bring her blade back around. Barely could keep it from flying from her hands.

They just needed reinforcements. If the Guard could get that, then they'd be fine.

Iris blinked as her blade was knocked high. Too heavy. Exposed, unable to bring her blade down, she gritted her teeth. She knew what was going to happen. The red blade arched down and she was thrown back. But not from the strike.

"Kids shouldn't be so eager to throw their lives away. You're faster." The Guard she told to run took her place. Shoved her back, threw her back, really. She watched helplessly as his body split down the middle.

Then ignited. A detonation of a primed thermal consumed their remains and erupted, throwing Iris clear out of the hall. She gritted her teeth, gripped her saber. And ran. Sprinted down the hall to find anyone, anyone, that could help stop the carnage.

"You talk too much," Valery said as the woman defended herself, landed, and went on about the hordes of the Maw and their destruction. The Jedi had already responded to the various threats, the Mongrel and other Sith included, and Shai was certainly not giving her own destructive capabilities enough credit either. A Mawdalorian as armed to the teeth and seemingly unstable as her could kill many innocents, and ravage entire city blocks.

For Jedi to respond to it was exactly what needed to be done.

Shai Maji Shai Maji then drew a sword and with the mobility of her jetpack, she quickly accelerated towards the Jedi with the intent to kill. In an attempt to make the fight a lot more difficult for the woman, Valery jumped away and tried to position herself so that Shai was going to end up between her and Kahlil, allowing them to pressure her from multiple angles.

The first swing of the sword then came for Valery, and in response, she raised her weapon and caught the metal sword with one of the blades of her saberstaff. The pistol rounds that were fired, she didn't worry about too much — Kahlil was in an extreme state of focus now that he felt like he was fighting for his family, and she knew he'd be able to handle himself just fine. She only continued to be his support pillar through their bond.

"It isn't fear you smell," Valery then said, as she lowered the blade she used to catch the attack, and swung around the other, hoping to catch the woman with a quick but powerful hit to the side. Sure, her armor could tank hits from a lightsaber, but getting hit could still lead to blunt force damage, or even just off-balance her enough for Kahlil to follow up with an attack of his own. Either way, to win this battle she needed to increase and maintain pressure on her opponent and overwhelm her together with her husband.

Once they'd find their rhythm in the battle together, she knew that their combinations could take down any foe. It was just a matter of time, patience, and cooperation.
