FLEETING.png

<“Wisa Mazssnkir diwidni irshiwizi, jani arsia an momna hansidona dias minjio dias ani maiyijia wa uri wikiâ, diâ iazada tutka ant ki wizra.”>

Akûz’ voice rumbled throughout the command deck of the Caragol, with his first officer relaying the orders across the assembled Kragamond warships. No sooner had the order gone out did the first wave of Alliance vessels exit lightspeed, arrayed in a diamond formation. Just as they began maneuvering to assault the Kragamond line, Akûz once again began bellowing orders: <“Momna hansidona! Jani arsia uzmoj masi ditikduni an saud wos hansidona momna. Manqikma ri irdinoha!”>

While the fleet of Caoimhe Crannach set itself on the offensive, they would not realize until it was too late that they had rushed headlong into a trap. The Vagabond-class Frigates, arrayed on each side of the Kragamond wedge formation, sprung the trap as they surged forth along the wings of the formation, with the Bhorgoth Destroyers advancing at max speed as they trailed slightly behind them.

The flanking contingents of warships soon converted the ‘A’ shaped formation the Alliance fleet would first encounter into a ‘V’ shape, with both sides soon evening out the formation into an elongated line, then converging into a flanking maneuver on either side. As if on cue, the warsingers within the Raz’kazar’agh Cruisers began singing their battle hymns along the inexorable beat of massive drums within each ship’s central chamber. The support ships spaced themselves evenly within the writhing formation, forming a network across the fleet which caused a ‘bubble’ effect of inspiration across the fleet.

Several minutes later, the Alliance Fleet’s targeting locks would find purchase upon the nucleus of the Kragamond formation, with the Warfleet’s own ships soon following moments thereafter. The Alliance’s ordinance would fire off first, with mass driver shells, missiles, and turbolaser fire streaking across the quickly fading gap between the two fleets, with fighter craft soon following behind. Almost instantaneously in response (no doubt facilitated by the harmonious chants echoing across the fleet), the flak cannons and point defense armaments across the fleet erupted in a highly coordinated crossfire. Over a third of the missiles streaking through the void exploded before they even drew close to the fleet, with half of the missiles which remained falling victim to the collective mesh of the missile deactivation transmitters aboard all of the capital ships of the Kragamond formation.

The missiles which remained would explode within the formation, with the majority doing so in gaps between the outstretched lines of the warfleet. Had they remained static, as the GA undoubtedly expected them to, the effect would almost certainly have been more pronounced. Instead, it provided only a minor inconvenience to the massive warships as the Ion shielding of the ships prevented the majority of the missiles’ effects.

The volley of ion fire would impact against that same Ion shielding, with all mainline vessels’ shielding holding strong as the more conventional firepower impacted against the Ray and Particle/Xythan force shielding. A sinking feeling would almost undoubtedly take root in the hearts of the Alliance spacers who observed the underwhelming affect their opening fusilade would have upon the Mawite fleet, only to be surpassed by the dread which would stir as the massive orbital autocannons of the Crucifix-class star destroyers, weapons capable of causing entire cities to fade out of existence, fell into position. With one word, the massive weapons erupted into a cacophony of devastation.

<“Saud!”>

The autocannons - 4 cannons per ship, together with the heavy turbolaser armaments of the Crucifix’s - surged through the void; targeting the Alliance Star Destroyers with focused intent. The MegaCaliber-Six turbolasers and Megamaser Batteries combined with the Megamasers of the Raz’kazar’akh Cruisers to volley-fire against the Valiant-class Frigates, while the Vagabond-class Reaver Frigates engaged in skirmishing tactics against the sizeable force of Alliance corvettes with its surprisingly robust collection of turbolasers and proton torpedo banks.

While the flak bombardment persisted in the receding deadzone between the two fleets, causing a hellscape for the Alliance Fighters as they attempted to close the distance, the Wartribe’s own fighter forces deployed en-masse - writhing around the Mawite fleet akin to a swarm of angry hornets. Any alliance fighters which survived the gambit of flak would be met with a criss-crossing pattern of point defense fire, and finally with the waiting squadrons of Darkshear Swarm Fighters.

Akûz stared out upon the battlefield before him from the relative safety of his command deck. The Alliance had attempted to rupture the bridges of his ships, and instead were met with defenses above what they likely expected. The Kragamond may have bore the appearance of a ragtag band of marauders, but there was a reason their fleets were feared across the galaxy. The warlord ran his tongue across his serrated teeth, clearly eager to move on to the next phase of his plan.

<“Jsina kaj- dzis mis tqi asimasi ri kimohtana wos ani kana.”>

  • The Kragamond Fleet springs its trap, converting its ‘A’ shape formation into a ‘V’ shape, with the port and starboard wings converging into an encircling maneuver around the GA fleet.
  • The warsingers (chanters of the tribe who manipulate the force) have begun singing a battle hymn to form a network of battle meditation across the fleet.
  • The warfleet fires their heavy armaments, consisting of orbital autocannons, heavy turbolasers, and megamaser batteries. The Crucifixes focus on the Alliance Star Destroyers, the Bhorgoths and Raz’kazar’akhs focus on the Alliance frigates, and the Vagabonds target the corvettes.
  • The Wartribe’s Darkshear fighters deploy themselves in a defensive swarm, ready to pounch upon the Alliance’s fighters should they survive the flak bombardment and storm of point defense fire.

  • “All SLAM capable ships, prepare to lock targets as soon as they reveal themselves, and align formation on my mark.”
  • “Lock targets! Prepare orbital auto cannons to fire upon target lock. Deploy the trap!”
  • “Fire!”
  • “Steel yourselves - for we shall snap our jaws upon their neck.”

TAG Dagon Kaze Dagon Kaze

She took him in, her eyes were unmoving from his face. She carefully considered every sculpted line and etching that made up is visage, carefully memorising every contour, every feature as if it were to be the last human she might see in this life.

It might just be that, she mused.

She felt his appeal to her like a cutting light through the dark cloud that kept her mind within its fugue state, the Force rushing to try to fill the void that he was leaving with his call to redemption. To the Light.

She felt herself being pulled towards him. Not physically, for she remained calm as she reclaimed the chance to breathe during the respite. No, it was more her soul that felt drawn to him, felt like she was somehow painting herself onto his own. She thought of her former master, Adron Malvern. Her fall from grace.

They all fall eventually.

"I...I can't do this anymore."

She buckled slightly, the pull of the Force too much on her head and her heart. She stumbled towards the ground, the ringing in her ears growing into a symphony of clashing energies, writhing and forcing her to kick against the call that rang through the palace.

She looked at Dagon between thrashes, her teeth bared, her eyes streaming, pleading with him. She almost reached towards the Jedi.

She called out to him with her mind.

Help me.

SHRIVEN NO MORE III: MORE REVELATION, MORE PAIN - PART 8
partonetet.PNG
THE WESTERN PIER-FRONT, CORAL COAST,
CINNAGAR, EMPRESS TETA (SUMMER OF 877 ABY)

~=Yes, I am, because I fell in love with Asher, but I haven't regretted it for a single moment…=~
Her voice sounded different, almost like it was distant but still near, almost as if Mercy was calling out to him from a spot nearby, but from the veil of another dimension parallel to his own. The strangeness of the echoes, almost as if they were bouncing off from outside a giant dome he couldn't see, an eeriness was clearly taking hold, though it would take a moment or two for the Bloodhound to awaken his mind to it.

Am I-
Am I - dead?

Trapped in a haze, with no sense of form or depth, and to a degree that not even his own hands and feel could be felt to be perceived, but in all the nothingness, Barran was fully aware that this was not what death looked like in his first departure from the Lord-Leftenant's mortal coil. He was shrouded in shadows, but flashing behind the shade of his demise were memories of the life Thomas had lived until then, bringing the sense of curiosity to his seemingly detached mind, pondering on the meaning and place of this rather bright obscurity in particular.

But another presence joined his own, one he could neither see nor reach out for, all the Bloodhound could do was wait, to listen out whilst the new presence steadily materialised somewhere in the near distance.

'You present far too many dangers for beings such as I, Shriven.... And for this, you walk alone now - as I observe from a safer distance. That sword was presiding over more than just your own fate, and I will not forget it.'

Rebirth, the very Avatar who nurtured the second journey in it's infancy, visiting for a farewell of sorts.

Harsh though her words were, Barran's darling deity was right, and the unconscious Woad knew she wasn't wrong; he would've winced if it had not have been for the hazy mirk his mind was floating in, as all the worst truths would have a tendency to hurt in ways that not even the Bloodhound could imagine or comprehend, much like these words were somehow hurting him through the bright, backlit fog of his own mind. Standing to reason that it wouldn't matter which realm the Warlord's feet were treading in, there was no escaping the indomitable, unstoppable force that was the unavoidable, inescapable truth. Even for one who had been spending his second life searching for it, for one who endured migraine after migraine, time and time again, this truth would pull no punches in it's delivery.

The worst kidney-punch of all.

'You are far too dangerous for your own good, and so I have no choice but to protect you by other means.... I want you to win, Shriven. But we both know you will never prevail this way.'

And like a flash, before Barran could even formulate enough thought to answer, the presence of his darling Rebirth was gone, leaving him in the haze and vanishing without a trace before he could even get the chance to see her. If this was death in it's purest form, Thomas wanted no part in it, wishing very much instead to be one with his nightmares once more, no matter how brutal they were perceived or confirmed to be. Feeling a sense of belonging for a place that would surely inflict untold, endless pain and anguish alike on arrival, but the Bloodhound cared not - anything was better than this.

'IF IT'S A RABID DOG YOU WANT, THEN SO BE IT!!!! LET ME UNLEASH MY RAGE UNTIL THE END - I'M DONE WITH EXISTENCE IF IT REDUCES ME TO THIS!!!!'

But then, the fog of his mind would clear away, letting the Warlord see, letting him feel and perceive himself again; letting the dull, lifeless pain of perceived death give way for those of realism, acute, burning and aggravating though they were, the replacement of the dull with the acute would meet a warm welcome in the Bloodhound. Next, Barran would hear and feel the waves breaking over his boots, his legs and the sand beneath, unleashing a salty, metallic scent on his nostrils in a way that brought him yelping into full consciousness once more, letting Thomas take in his surroundings again. But when he looked up to the skies beyond the distant pier, the gaze of the Bloodhound was once again magnetised to the moon that wrestled with the clouds, the only true magnificence he could possibly care about by then.

empteta5.PNG

Oh, so I'm alive after all.
Wonderful, - fething wonderful.

The Jedi was nowhere to be seen, likely moving on to fight other Mawite elements further inland, and in no doubt seeing that she had won without expecting any further resistance from the Warlord, Barran could only assume that his first assumption was the closest to the reality on the matter. Rebirth had confirmed the Judgement Sword to retain greater purpose than it's function would suggest initially, but in the understanding of it's power over life and death, the understanding that it searched for the evil within the soul of an opponent helped the one-eyed Woad come to an altogether more specific realisation - the heightened likelihood that Ishida was bound (no matter how reluctant her adherence was perceived to be at the time) to the final word and declarations of Ashla's Arbiter.

But then a familiar pain began to assail him, an agony much alike that which was inflicted on himself on Tython, but no blood-runes would be smeared with this wound, such a wound was presenting a darker reason for refraining from sacrificial behaviours. His neck and shoulder were bleeding, and quite profusely at that, and though it was the only assumption to state that the Judgement Sword had chosen kindly, Ashina had been quick enough, and committed enough to her decisive strike that it pierced flesh, muscle and arterial tissue well enough in the end. The only thing keeping Barran alive was his calmness and his slow, half-conscious movements, but his comrades weren't giving up on him that easily, and certainly not one as wild as the tribal Matriarch.

'Ah, that could be why.... Makes more sense than-'

~=Hang in there Barran, I'm coming for you... even though you don't deserve it and it's not my job! And I won't die for you!=~

~=Please don't take this the wrong way - but I am losing quite a lot of blood here, Mercy. I need you to focus.... I need you to hurry.=~

Falling forward, the fainting Warlord's face would meet the wet sand, sparing himself enough conscious action to roll onto the unbloodied shoulder to breathe properly, controlling his breathing as much as he could as his death-clock ticked ever closer to midnight. Legs would kick out to one side for comfort just in time for the lapse of conscious sight, though the Bloodhound would still have just enough time to mutter,'Ishida - that's what she called hersel-', in the coldest, most murderous of tones before he finally fell into the stupor of clinical shock and exhaustion. Barran's life was once again resting within the fateful hands of Kala'myr, but unlike the time before, no torturous, hateful intent would befall him on the Coral Coast that night, not whilst the fate of the entire tribe rested on the shoulders of Warlord and Matriarch alike.

Mercy wanted to prevail in the impending struggle within the Maw, Thomas wanted to win against any who would dare disturb the Great Cycle, Rebirth wanted victory, no matter how much her chosen tribe bled to achieve it. And whether Barran was to survive the Second Battle of Empress Teta, as unlikely as it looked, would depend entirely on the luck all three often spurned.

~ Mercy ~
I always had a first aid kit in my armour so that if I got hurt I could treat myself or Asher if necessary. It became especially necessary after Dromund Kaas. But there were still things in the inner pockets, or even in my belt, just in case Asher's armour got damaged and needed to be repaired very quickly so he didn't suffer further brain damage. After all, it took years for us to heal that brain damage, which was said to be impossible or irreversible. We solved it, we healed it, together.

But the injury that the Lord-Regent caused him, I could not fix or heal. And I could not save him either. Why was I so weak? Good for nothing…

As I ran, and with these thoughts in mind, I heard Barran's voice again.

~=Please don't take this the wrong way - but I am losing quite a lot of blood here, Mercy. I need you to focus.... I need you to hurry.=~

I snarled, properly this time, not just in my mind. I sent the coordinates of where he was to the Final Dawn's medical team to send a dropship. I found the situation somewhat ironic; I never asked Asher to save me. I wanted it, yes, but never asked. Not even when I was defeated by the Eternal Imperials or when I was seriously injured. He was the one who always came after me, because he felt he had to save me and to take care of me.

I never wanted to appear weak in front of him in any way. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been worthy of him.

~ Be happy that I'm throwing aside the tribe's rules, for you, and going for you! I'm running as fast as I can, but we're at war! I've already given your location to the Final Dawn's medical team; they might get there before me. ~

I ran as fast as I could, using MANIAC's and my own droids' data to avoid the parts where the fight continued, because if I had to fight my way through the battles, I would never have reached Barran. Fortunately, pregnancy has not hindered me from running or being active; I haven't looked like a barrel yet. That will be later, and in this world, I won't have Asher by my side to watch over me like we did in our life together. Here I had to solve this on my own.

When I arrived, he was already alone, lying on the floor. I would have liked to let him die and bleed out. And I would have sent his body to his father. But I couldn't wait and watch him die, because then Tu'teggacha would surely take the twins. I went over to him, took the bacta injection from the pocket of my armour, as well as the skin astringent spray. First, I gave him the injection and then I started treating the injury. As soon as the spray was on the wound, I bandaged it. I checked his vital signs; he was still alive.

I only had basic first aid knowledge, so I did everything I could in this situation and even my armour got completely bloody because of it.

"Now it's up to you, Barran, whether you want to live or not. I've done what I can... medical help will be here soon." I told him.

Until the rescue dropship arrived, I waited here and monitored his condition, which remained stable for the time being. Soon the dropship arrived with the doctors, who also treated him, and we were taken off the planet to one of the safest spaceships.

After quite a few rows of bricks, I started to feel that maybe I should have taken on patching a smaller gap. Anyway, I was making pretty good progress with this. I knew it wouldn't be a one-time task, so I was satisfied with what I had achieved. During work, I sensed a few times what was happening outside. One thing is for sure, Mercy didn't fight, but ran to somewhere. So she left the mud that meant safety. I wasn't happy about that. Maybe that's what she told Kallan?

It was conceivable, and I knew that in this case my husband probably wasn't too happy either. I put up half a row of bricks, but after that I really didn't have the strength left to continue. It was time to go home. I will continue tomorrow, or we will continue. I took a tired, deep breath. After a short concentration, I was back at our house. I brushed the snow off my hair and shoulders and entered the house.

It was warm in the house, compared to the cold outside. I smiled at Kallan who was reading. I took off my boots and coat and joined him. I tiredly sat down next to him and snuggled up to him while resting my head on his shoulder.

~ We're on Empress Teta again, that's why there's snow outside and Mercy is in a bad mood. I hope the snow stays after we leave this planet, at least a little more. I would like to build a snowman and make a snow angel with you. ~ I whispered kindly and tiredly closed my eyes.

I was at home with him.

Her attack was blocked, she could feel herself burning hot under the collar in frustration as she had hoped to get some blow early on. As Carnifex struck at Dreidi with simple yet strong blows, Dreidi deflected and backpedalled hard to keep her limbs and general body safe from damage. As he was striking at Dreidi, it seemed that the Sith Lord was focused on maintaining a conversation with Jax, acting as if she was nothing more than a fly in the room. Something to swat at when it came too close but otherwise harmless and out of sight. Her anger boiled at this treatment, it was bad enough that people who she respected and were meant to be superiors would look down at her and dismiss her skills. To be dismissed and not acknowledged by a person she was actively fighting. It was beyond frustrating, but that was good. She could use it, she could gather it, harness it. There was a deep well of dark emotions that she could base her Force Scream off of, but it was such a deep well of strong emotions that Dreidi worried that if she tapped into it right now then she wouldn't be able to untap from it until her throat was ripped beyond repair.

No, she needed fresh emotions, to build them in her chest in a ball. Let it grow and gather strength so she could blast a powerful Force Scream at the bantha fodder of a Sith Lord. Doing this also meant that she had to keep a level head during all this as well. "You do realise I am here and I can speak for myself. I mean Jax hardly knows me, so asking him what I know is no good!" Dreidi laughed defensively as she was determined to keep a barbed tongue during the fight. "I know more about the Force than most my age, I know more than most older than me. Using Force and Magick, you have to know a lot to wield both." Dreidi growled, she was not having her skills, her knowledge put down by this stranger. She knew Carnifex was powerful and someone she should fear, but right now Dreidi did have fear. She had frustrations and anger, and she knew how to build them into a strong attack.

When the blast of rocks came, Dreidi reflexively held her hands out and attempted to block the attack from coming. However, the weak defence was not needed since Jax had caught them. She let out a sigh of relief, since the rocks were much bigger and heavier than Dreidi believed that she could cope with. Hearing Jax call out for help, Dreidi switched from a Force Push shield and created the strongest blast she could to help Jax fire the rocks back at Carnifex. Breathing heavily, she wiped the sweat from her forehead. Her hand came back with some blood. Checking herself over, since she couldn't feel any pain at the moment, she noted a couple scratches and dings from smaller rocks. Dreidi was ever thankful that adrenaline was such a solid way to dull pain. Moving around, Dreidi reignited her Lightsaber, assessing the situation. Was it the right time to release her Force Scream? Would it help the fight at this moment or just be a wasted attack?

Sliding her feet swiftly around the floor, Dreidi looked around to Jax. "Get ready, going to try something!" Dreidi warned Jax, before bursting the bubble of emotions she had built. Letting the anger, frustration, pain and more pour out of her in a strong Force Scream. The deafening blast aimed straight for the Sith Lord with the hopes of disorientating and placing him on a backfoot.

It was little surprise that Caltin was a skilled fighter with a Lightsaber, for Naga, being skilled with both the Force and a Lightsaber was crucial. He was always determined to harness both skills in Wallgof. Currently the man could fight mentally with most, but he could not outlast a skilled Lightsaber wielder. That was an issue with Naga and why he never trusted Wallgof on the frontlines. It had to be Naga taking charge. Controlling the body to ensure that the job was done right. The Force Crush didn't take for long before the Force Sense triggered the warning of a fist, Naga slide and slithered out of range. He could see that the supposed Jedi Master was attempting to force him in a specific direction. Naga wasn't having that, he wasn't being guided in any direction, Naga danced around Caltin. The lack of armour just made the Sith Lord more nimble, more agile and able to move freely out of the way.

"You need to do an attack that will strike at his core."

"I know that Wallgof! It is what I am trying to do you fool!" Naga snarled at the small ghostly figure of Wallgof.

"Dominate the mind of a passing Jedi, make them attack him, control the mind of one of his own and see how he handles that." Naga grunted, it was a decent idea from the fool. Naga couldn't deny that but he offered no praised or thanks, no that would not do and there was no evidence it would work against this being that was trying to imitate light itself.

Spotting a strong looking Jedi Knight, Naga reached out, catching the being by surprise. He dominated the mind using Wallgof's skills and his own, twisting the Knight's reality and corrupting his mind. "Help me Knight, together we can take this Sith Lord!" Naga shouted out, odd words but in the Knight's mind he saw Wallgof's body as Caltin and Caltin was Wallgof, Naga force the voice to sound like Caltin in his mind as well. Pressuring him to join the fight and attack Caltin.

The blinding light of Caltin was annoying but Naga wrapped rags over his eyes, no Force User was truly blind. Not if they used their senses and were connected to the Force. No, Naga could fight blind and move as fluidly as he did with sight. Years in darkness, never seeing light. Embracing the darkness once again was child's play. They had not take a single step closer to the Temple either, Naga would always shift back away from it if a step was taken in that direction. The Sith Lord knew where this Caltin wanted to go, so he would simply deny him that chance. That would do all the work for Naga. Especially with the supposed Jedi Master having to fight one of his own, so intent on killing him.

Be careful what you wish for.

“Build your opponent a golden bridge to retreat across.” ― Sun Tzu

Clearly the Sith thought that Caltin had cared whether or not he was going into the Palace, he didn’t. Wallgof, Sadow, whatever he was right now was more interested in falling back on tired old tricks and was still thinking himself above everyone. Oh how ridiculous the mindset of a proponent, or “believer” of the Dark Side. It was clear the Sadow was trying to be something he was not, the long deceased Sith Lord was not the cerebral assassin that he thought he was, the Sith was a blunt instrument. This attempt at thought based warfare was beneath him.

Him being Caltin, Sadow and Wallgof were irrelevant at this point.

Sadow could dance all he wanted to, the big man was going for the Palace. It was when he called out to Yoni Bucket, a dueling opponent of the big man many times when he visited the Coruscant Temple and a Jar’Kai student of his, that was interesting. He did not need the Force to see Knight’s retinas expanding rapidly, yet somehow there's still confusion.

Yoni,,, are you confused right now. Especially in someone portraying themselves as an ally calling you, a Jedi Master, merely by the title “Knight”?

Yoni was a Master of defense, he could handle himself well enough, it was just getting his head back on straight that matters.

The enemy moved almost the moment they were insystem she had been told Warbrand Grinash were aggressive fighters so this was little surprise. She felt something of a twinge as they began to move something unexplainable not physical but entirely real; she refocused on the battle as precise counter fire to the jendosta system destroyed just over a third. Moreover much of the missile launched either failed to meet their targets or did not have near the effect they should. It would seem that the enemy has more ion shielding than we were led to believe and that force trickery was likely at play. She had little time to dwell on that as the warning came half a moment too late as massive rounds from the enemy's orbital assault guns ripped through clouds of smoke.

“EVADE!”

The Screaming Dragon barely managed to start to turn away one of the massive bolts shearing across their shield turning the world red. The Defiant Wyvern wasn’t near as lucky four of the massive bolts slammed into it their shield flickered for a brief moment before sparking and dying the insanely redundant shielding of the mon calamari vessel saved it from becoming a rapidly expanding cloud of atoms but not it’s hull from melting in places where the last of the energy seeped through when the shields failed. The butcher’s bill for the start of this battle was nowhere near done as pop up engagements began along the forward edge of her formation.

“Ma’am Th’Wyvern is reporting shields doon an hull damage.”

“Tell them ti get ti th’back o’ th’formation till they can get backup generators oanline. Tell oor back line ti sweep th’leg”

On her command the half of her swept suddenly down and around behind the front of the war tribe in a rapid double envelopment. This movement was cover by the mainline of battle opening up with everything they had. As soon as the maneuver was complete. The enire formation pair off against they’re numerically inferior foe. A dance began ship maneuvering and fire presenting small windows to target while they fired only to begin maneuvering out of the way as soon as their partner ship began firing.

“Ma’am th’fighter squadrons ur taking heavy losses in th’melee”

“Tell them ti break contact manuever their pursues under th’valiants guns. When they can A want bomber making runs oan ships on th’ooter edges o’ th’enemy formation where th’crossfire is th’ thinest.”

  • Caoimhe’s fleet seperates into two parts
  • First part stays enaged with the enemy
  • Second part maneuvers behind them
  • Ships maneuver in fight to constantly keep the enemy with two targets
  • Fighters break contact and manuever towards valiant anti-starfighter frigates
  • Bombers break off and begin runs on the ship in the outer portions of the fleet

The first stone disintegrated, followed quickly by the second, and the third, and the fourth. The last stone, however, was deftly caught by the Dark Lord's lightning-fast reflexes. He held the stone aloft, gripped tightly by His fingers. Then, without effort, Carnifex crushed the stone in His hand until it was dust and pebbles. He scattered those pieces to the ground, crushing one of the larger pebbles under His boot as He took a step forward towards the pair.

"This farce can only persist for so long, Jaxon. How much are you willing to sacrifice?"

He would have advanced further, were it not for the intervention of Dreidi Xeraic. The younger apprentice stepped forward, and gathering her frustration and pain, bellowed a wall of sonic energy. Sensing this just before it happened, Carnifex reached out and placed His left hand between Himself and the oncoming sonic wave. The wave crashed against the Dark Lord, splitting into two new waves as it broke against His defensive gesture. The ground at His feet was ripped up like newly tilled earth, the wall and pillars behind Him suffering the worst of the impact as they cracked and buckled.

But it was the Dark Lord's shadow that would've drawn their attention, as it began to lengthen away from Carnifex and towards them. Of its own volition, the shadow's hands outstretched towards the shadow of Dreidi's legs and appeared to wrap around them. As though physically seized, Dreidi would feel the sensation of fingers curling around her legs before they started to violently pull. The shadow was trying to pull her down to the ground, to knock her on her back, and drag her towards Carnifex.

As this happened, a distinctly feminine laugh could be heard emanating from the shadow. Upon its face emerged a growing smile, a pair of amber eyes peering out from the shadowy amorphous mass.

Out of instinct Dreidi performed a Force Scream, the blast heading straight towards Carnifex. Jax launched the boulder as well hoping that it could follow up the damage Driedi's scream produced. Even though he rarely trained Dreidi, Jax couldn't help but feel proud of her. Jax just wished that he could get closer to her even after all of these harrowing revelations regarding Jax's past. But no matter what, Jax will do what he can to help Dreidi on her path to be a Jedi. She will survive this.

"This farce can only persist for so long, Jaxon. How much are you willing to sacrifice?"

Though Carnifex's voice was calm, the words were like a swarm of Colossus Wasps that barraged him with constant stings. Jax gripped his Lightsaber seeing the Worm Emperor to easily deflect the incoming boulders moving with liquid precision deflecting, obliterating and even grabbing largest boulder with his bare hand and crushing it. Jax felt a searing pain in his damaged eye as soon as Carnifex was done with his counterattack. The pain became stronger more unbearable to where Jax fell on his knees.

"Damn you!" Jax shouted ripping off his eyepatch his wounded eye covered in blood. "What do you want from me Carnifex?! What do you want me to sacrifice?!"

From here on out, it was then Jax knew that what his father meant.

"NO!" Jax saw an inky black darkness wrap itself around Dreidi. Scratching, clawing at her legs as if it was trying to drag her down to the pits of hell itself.

"DREDI!" Still gripping his Lightsaber, Jax ran after Driedi who was being dragged towards Carnifex. He knew, he knew this would happen! He knew that his father would use Dreidi as bait. The darkness swirled around Jax's heart again, the same darkness that nearly took him at Empress Teta. The voices in his head became louder. "Do it! Give into your hate!" A voice said. "It's the only way to save Driedi, she'll die."

"I-I can't...." Jax roared hurling his Lightsaber like a spear heading straight for Carnifex's heart. He knew it would fail, just like all of his attacks so far against would be.

"What do I do?" Jax thought thinking of how he failed Aveline Cuiléin Aveline Cuiléin back at Korriban. If he fails Dreidi now, if she dies. Jax will never forgive himself, how can he face Jairdain Jairdain knowing that he let her daughter die to his father no less.

"Embrace the darkness you have done it before." The voice said. "But not like this." Jax countered. "Not in the way he wants to do it."

"What will you give to free yourself from Carnifex, to save Dreidi. To actually become the hero that the Alliance needs to defeat the Brotherhood?"
The voice said. "The cave, remember your near success at the cave. The power to save the ones you love, to end the war is at your fingertips all you need to do is take it!"

"I-I...."

The fog that affected Jax's mind for a long time had finally dissipated. Everything felt clear now, Jax felt like he was back at the Room of Thousand Fountains. The place where he freed Spasa Spasa from Pom Stych Tivé Pom Stych Tivé , the place where he met Jair. He Carnifex standing on the surface of the river extending his hand towards Jax.

"Embrace the power you're given! IT is a gift!"

"Take it!"

"AND CRUSH YOUR FATHER!"

Jax felt a dark aura surrounding him he looked at Dredi and then at Carnifex. The power was shimmering around Jax he could fall into the Darkness, now, he can save Dreidi.

"I am ready." Jax said about to dive in.

“I should be the one asking you to allow me to help.” She responded with a single nod of approval to his request. “I’ll strike first and focus on any remaining Dark Siders that still reside in the main throne room. I cannot guarantee you any degree of protection past being a brightly lit target to distract other Maw and Krath forces.” She added.
Rusty gave a curt nod.

"We have enough firepower left. A quick strike is all we need to end this once and for all."

Carmina walked up to the group, flanked by her group of soldiers. She gave Rusty a quiet look. He nodded his affirmation. He was doing fine, on-baseline. The others formed up in columns, preparing for a brisk march and breach into the Throne room, only a short while from where they were. They began the hurried journey, the soldiers, resistance fighters and Ariana moving quickly, the ground shaking softly from artillery outside.

She eyed the larger ruined hallway that lead directly towards the Throne room, clenching her fist Ariana readied herself.

“On my mark.” She spoke, turning her head to face Rusty and back around towards the rest of the gathered Resistance fighters.

Her fists and forearms began to glow with white hot embers, flickers of a Force shield appeared all around her. Ariana’s countenance clearly showed signs of struggle to keep both Force abilities up; her brow furrowed and eyes filled with determination to grapple with the strain as sweat began to roll down the sides of her face.

Moving forward with at first a walking pace, she slowly built up her momentum to a slow run before slamming her Force shield directly into the barricaded doors. Ariana quickly followed it up with both her fists smashing into the metal doors and robbing what was left of their integrity. The doors slammed inward and were thrown on either side with a loud thud.
Having literally punched the door open, Rusty and the rest charged in, guns blazing. Rusty opened fire, flanked by the other SIA soldiers, gunning down Krath royal guards as they attempted to flank Ariana. The other soldiers swept around the perimeter of the room in practiced fashion. Guerillas most of them were, but they were not untrained.

The Empress sat on her throne the crown of her ancestors sat on her head. She sat up straight and poised herself like an Empress waiting to receive her guests.
She need wait no longer. From her seat, she would have seen as her guards were cut down in close combat by Rusty and Ariana's combined strike force. The group spread out and surrounded Dyans Keto Dyans Keto , usurper queen of Teta. M had not given Rusty instructions on Keto per se, as even she had not planned for the live capture of Dyans. Nonetheless, Rusty had to follow the operating principles of the SIA, and even as his blood boiled, he restrained himself. He signalled for one of the SIA agents to prepare the neural disabler. Frankly he did not worry if the countermeasures would work; he did not expect her to surrender.

"Dyans Keto, you are under arrest for crimes against sapience, civilisation and peace. Surrender yourself and your followers into our custody or we will shoot."

Dyans watched as the Galactic Alliance force pushed there way into the throne room and dispatched of the few Royal guards who had been preoccupied with the young Mandalorian Gwyneira Vizsla Gwyneira Vizsla . Dyans eyes laid heavily on Ariana Du Couteau Ariana Du Couteau who seemed and oddity leading the charge among the commando's and soldiers who came in behind her. She didn't fit the mold of hardened soldier you would send to capture the castle. Even as her men were dispatched, and they began to surround the Throne giving Dyans seemingly no means of escape she did not move remaining statuesque other then her eyes which remained focused on the young woman moving with her every move. Dyans didn't move towards her weapon or jump to attack as that move would be foolish in any sense she was greatly outnumbered.

"Dyans Keto, you are under arrest for crimes against sapience, civilisation and peace. Surrender yourself and your followers into our custody or we will shoot."
Ronval Rubat Ronval Rubat seemingly the head of the commando unit spoke out to her, but Dyans remained fixated on the young woman. There was also the fact she was buying time as outside the death Warlock & witches began to congregate and form a force chain around the Palace. They were building up dark energies and starting to channel them towards the Palace to the one who sat upon the throne. Dyans could start to feel the energies being poured into her.

"The throne of the Tetan Empire does not recognize your authority. You are invaders, you are the usurpers, and the ones who disrupt the piece." As she spoke, she let some of the force being built up inside her go in the form of an invisible sickening waves that went out in every direction of the throne. It wasn't long before invisible waves hit the soldiers encircling her throne. It would cause them death oh no death was the easy way out. It started out causing them to feel lightheaded and the sickness would continue to build until they were vomiting themselves to death gasping for any ounce breath they could between heaving. The sickness would be to much for a few they would take their own lives before they started to bleed from every orifice moments before they perished in pure agony. Though some might be strong enough to last until Dyans choose to bring this Palace down.

"The Alliance wants to strip my family of their inherited right to this world. The Alliance wants to strip the Tetan people of its heritage. I can not and could not let them take everything we are from us and that is why I formed an alliance with the Maw. Because despite there cruelty and barbarism they do not strip the worlds and people that aid them of their identity. I saw in them a brotherhood a unity despite their differences something the rest of the Galaxy lacks." For the first time a smirk crossed her face still her eyes hanging on the young girl just as the waves started to reach the font line of soldiers. She knew fire might be opened on her real shortly, so she hit a hidden button on her throne that erected a force field around it.

"The Maw murdered billions but at this point who hasn't? There is blood on every single power in this Galaxies hands, but the Maw has a vision of building something a vision all others lack. I can influence that vision make a better Galaxy. You should all really think about what it is you are fighting for you think your greedy senators give a damn about the future they only care about resources they can strip from a world to make themselves richer. I am a symbol of hope for my people and you are here to steal hope from them." Dyans speech ended, and her tone had risen only slightly through out it. One could see it as a delusional thought, as Empress seeing that her power was about to be taken way, or as someone who truly believed she had made the right choice for her people even if deep down Dyans wasn't sure she had. The front lines of soldiers began to buckle over a few dropping their weapons as the waves of sickness finally started to take hold. The energies in Dyans where slowly reaching the peak but also she could feel the tension in the room and knew she was about to have hell rained down on her.

FLEETING.png

A low grumble, which turned into a chuckle, exited from Akûz’ maw at the sight of Caomhe’s attempt to turn the tables upon him. Against a conventional foe, a double envelopment would be a devastatingly effective tactic to outmaneuver and overwhelm a numerically inferior force. What she had not accounted for however, was one very important fact.

Kragamond was anything but a conventional foe. There was an old adage that a cornered animal would typically resort to one of two differing instincts; to either fight to the bitter end, or to turn tail and run. Akûz had often been likened to an animal given his proclivities for certain... forms of protein consumption. And while, yes, he was often dominated by base impulses when provoked - Akûz was also a very crafty foe. Where his rivals styled themselves as brilliant tacticians capable of outthinking and outsmarting their opponents by forcing matchups and maneuvers that placed their enemies on the back foot; Akûz’ brilliance came in the form of doing what many considered to be altogether crazy - and getting away with it.

<“Drasasji dtuti diwijizi.”> He grumbled with a low, and surprisingly cool demeanor. The navigation crew glanced back at their warlord with a confused and slightly surprised demeanor, but thought better than to question his orders. The double envelopment would begin to swarm around the Warfleet’s flanks, and at first it would appear as if Caomhe’s plan was beginning to work - particularly as additional damage began to gain purchase amongst the smaller ships of the warfleet. As the Alliance fighters retreated under the cover of the point defense network of the Valiant frigates, the warband’s fighters would instead pursue the Alliance bombers which sought to hopefully capitalize upon the chaos. The rhythmic thrum of the warsingers’ chanting pulsated through the fleet, which would make the following orders that much easier to execute given the quick succession in which they would be given.

<“Wisa irshiwizi, snari diwijizi arsiau! Misinina ridasi ant shitwora ÿêusaki, diâ jani arsia ri Mazssnkir zasoti dzis asimazi zûta ant ki wizra.”>

sharku-lotr-sharku.gif
An evil grin would form upon the lips of nearly all the crewmen aboard the Caragol’s bridge, with the first mate’s expression showcasing the jagged and crooked teeth lining his mouth. Where the Alliance fleet had likely expected the Kragamond to fade or attempt to maneuver away and gain distance, instead they would see the massive hulks of the warband accelerate into the former-front of the Alliance formation. In an instant, and in unison; the massive capital ships of the warfleet pulsed forth at full burn, with the vagabonds doing the same. Point-blank salvos of high-intensity turbolasers and ion cannons unleashed salvos upon unexpecting corvettes and frigates which stood in the wake of the Crucifix star destroyers’ path, with harpoon launchers and flechette cannons following immediately after in an attempt to, whether permanently or temporarily; take advantage of potential shield disruptions.

The intended effect was obvious now that it was taking shape, as the harpoons would likely embed themselves within the beleaguered hulls of the smaller craft, which would obviously attempt to escape the steady advance of the larger ships. If successful, the harpoons would lock, and would likely cause the desperate corvettes to stall in front of one of the other larger ships following the Caragol in its inexorable advance (with the harpoons of the flanking vessels causing a similar effect all along the line of advance). The result would be almost certain disintegration and destruction of a wholesale level, given the reinforced hulls of the ships forming the main line of advance.

Akûz would pause for several moments, allowing the massive weight of his advance to plow through whatever smaller craft lay in their wake. It did not matter how much fire was raining down upon them - there was nothing the Alliance could do in the small span of time which passed to prevent what was going to happen next.

<“Mazssnkir manyiw, norzi!”>

In unison, all of the SLAM capable warships would accelerate ten-fold, with their individual SLAM drives causing their massive hulks to surge forth. The Caragol, along with all of the Vagabond Frigates crashed through the Alliance formation. The smaller Vagabonds targetted the smaller frigates in the formation, as well as any stray corvettes that may well have tried to stand in their way. The Caragol on the other hand, made a bee-line for the flagship of the Alliance fleet altogether - the ANV Screaming Dragon. The advancing ships held no concern for any ships that may have been in the way - the Vagabonds were crewed by half-crazed cannibal lords who set upon the most opportune targets. Upon impact, they would latch upon their prey like a half-starved Nexu and prepare their crews for boarding actions.

The Caragol would surge forth, with whatever corvettes unfortunate enough to be caught by its harpoons either being dragged along with it, or having large swathes of their hulls ripped asunder in the process. Its massive phrik-lined prow was primed to bite deep into the side of the enemy Star Destroyer, and was more than capable of overwhelming the shield systems and punching through the exterior plating of the ship upon contact.
If the full-scale charge was successful, the SLAM-capable ships would have little problem in severely crippling large swathes of the enemy fleet. The remaining Crucifix Star Destroyers would unleash the full complement of their firepower at point blank range alongside their Bhorgoth counterparts. The warsingers of the Raz’kazar’akh Cruisers began singing a different melody - that of a demoralizing dirge which would sow fear and discord amongst the crewmen of the ships they began to interlace themselves in.

The entire Kragamond formation would push directly into and through the bulk of the Alliance formation, completely negating any attempt to envelope them by the rear guard. Instead, the second half of Caomhe’s fleet would find themselves woefully out of position to respond to the Kragamond push. As if that were not enough, the remainder of the warband’s fighter complement would surge forth from their host ships’ hangar bays. Heavy fighters, bombers, interceptors - all manner of fighter craft would swarm in the midst of the developing melee, with pure and unadulterated chaos unleashing in the midst of the formerly organized and disciplined Alliance ranks.

  • After a brief delay to allow for the Alliance double-envelopment to take place, the warfleet surges forth at full burn into the main formation of the Alliance fleet.
  • As the fleet advances forth into the Alliance lines, the Kragamond warships unleash with their main armaments at point blank range, including harpoon launchers to ensnare whatever smaller vessels may be attempting to evade their unexpected charge.
  • The deployed Darkshear fighters redirect to intercept the fighters attempting to target the smaller vessels along the flanks.
  • After charging into the speartip o the Alliance formation, the Caragol and Vagabond frigates use their SLAM drives to literally punch through the Alliance lines, with no regard for whatever enemy vessels lay in their path.
  • The non-SLAM capable ships, such as the remaining Crucifixs, Bhorgoths, and Raz’kazar’akhs continue their advance and continue their volley fire into what targets have attempted to outmaneuver the wild charge, firing point blank into whatever targets expose themselves (likely the frigates and corvettes, and potential potshots at star destroyers. The fleet pushes forward, pushing free and clear of the potential envelopment.
  • The warsingers have changed their melody to one project feelings of dread similar to summon fear upon their enemies.
  • The warfleet has mobilized the remainder of their fighters into the developing mosh-pit

  • “Maintain cruising speed.”
  • “All ships, full speed ahead! Weapons free on harpoon launchers, and prepare the SLAM drive for discharge on my mark.”
  • “SLAM drives, engage!”

Naga was deep in the mind, breaking it, warping reality around Yoni Bucket so that all the Knight saw and heard was what Naga wanted him to see and heard. It didn't matter what Caltin tried to say to the Knight, he could not hear those words. Instead he saw was Naga boastfully stating he would end the life of both Caltin and Yoni, so Yoni jumped into action and attacked Caltin. "Struggling to inspire loyalty into your inferiors." Naga mocked as he continue to twist and control the Jedi Knight. His claws deep in the mind and dominating it, corrupting and controlling it with the skills of a Master in the art. Caltin was not progressing to the Temple and Naga was going to make sure of it.

Rushing forward, Naga worked with the young Jedi Knight and coordinated their strikes at Caltin, never attempting death blows himself but forcing Yoni to do so whenever there was an opportunity. He was breaking the mind of the Knight so even if his control was forced out or he broke concentration the Knight would end up a useless puddle of a person. He had done so to Wallgof many times, and he knew how to work around defences, his tendrils held the mind of the Knight and held a tight grip on it. Naga smirked, "This one will kill you unless you kill him Caltin, then you will be a Jedi killer." Naga laughed, it was perfect in his mind. Having to kill the Jedi Knight to save your life and continue your mission or die because you couldn't bring yourself to do so.

Yoni was attempting his best, using Jar'Kai in his attacks against Caltin as he fought as hard as he could. Naga even knew what to do if Caltin did kill the Knight, he had set up the perfect response to such an event. It would be beautiful, this was all beautiful. Naga's attacks were done as a distraction from the deadly strikes from Yoni, splitting the attention of Caltin as he struck glancing blows and parrying attacks.

Dreidi watched as the attack was countered and the blast was only destroying the structures but it gave Dreidi an idea. Bury Carnifex in the rubble. Give him a tomb. Whether it would work or not, it was worth a shot. Before she could put the plan into action, some inky shadowy mass grabbed at her and pulled onto the ground. Her throat sore from the Force Scream, she couldn't call out at first. It was confusing since she had no idea what was going on, this shadow apparently had eyes and a voice, feminine in tone as well. Dreidi tried to cut at it as she was being dragging to Carnifex, knowing once she was in his grip then it would be over for her since this guy was too evil and sinister to keep her alive when her death would turn his apparent son to the Dark Side.

The only thought she had was to continue with the bury Carnifex in rubble idea. Gripping the destroyed pillars behind him, she pulled the towards them, to crash on top on Carnifex in the hopes that it would break his concentration and she could escape. Even if it wasn't enough, it could buy time for her to regain some strength and teleport away again, right now the Force Scream had taken too much energy to teleport away. Looking over the Jax, she saw the turmoil and the want, the need to slip into the Dark Side, to surrender to some form of darkness inside him to save her. It was frustrating to see him slip like this, he was suppose to be a Jedi, he had ranted at her in the past about the problems in using the Dark Side and now he was just going to surrender like that.

Swallowing hard to soothe her throat a little, "Oi! Poodoo head! Don't you dare go about using the Dark Side! You are meant to be a Jedi Master, act like one! We can do this without you going all evil on me, so get your chit together and focus, how can we stop this using the Jedi way? Because if you can't do that then why in hells did they make you a Jedi Master?!" Dreidi shouted over to Jax, she needed him to snap out of this and calling him out as failing as a Jedi Master to solve problems using the Light Side would hopefully do the trick. She knew powers like Force Light or something could do some serious work here but Dreidi had no training in these powers yet so she couldn't attempt it.

"And focusing attacks on me, a Padawan must really be a threat to the great Sith Lord Carnifex!" Dreidi mocked, as she struggled and fought being pulled with everything she had. She knew why Carnifex was really focusing on her, hoping that removing her would allow him to break Jax and it was clear that without Dreidi here, there was a serious chance of that happening.

“Sometimes it is hell, trying to get to heaven.” ― Mark Calloway (“The Undertaker”)

Yoni Bucket was not on Caltin Vanagor’s level on many levels, this is true. However; that in no way made him an “inferior” by any means, he brought his own skills to the proverbial table and his own path to walk. He was strong in mental defenses, but it was clear that Sadow was stronger and managed to invade his mind deeply.

His name is “Yoni Bucket,” not “Knight” or “this one.” His actions are not “his,” they are “yours,” clearly. I am not going to kill him, but if I did, it would be with a clear conscience because of your invasion into his mind. Clearly you are pathetic in this. For someone so dismissive of “loyalty” and others, you have a history of begging for it. I would pity you, but you are not even worthy of that anymore.

Caltin did wait for the both of them to attack, but when they did, his counter was simple. He used the Force to assist his already enhanced speed. It was something that the massive Jedi Master had yet to try at this point, it would be intermittent and in short bursts, but his moves were faster than Sadow and Bucket combined.

Might as well be fighting Wallgof at this point. You both are useless.

Once the opening was there, Caltin planted his right palm on the chest of Sadow and pushed through his “Electro-Force '' enough to get some distance between them. The moment was to catch Bucket in Force Stasis and look him in the eyes.

Fight him, Yoni.

Using the Force to throw the possessed Knight as far away as he could without killing him, Caltin was angry now. Furious, and he did not bother hiding it. Wallgof, Sadow, Zippy the Pinhead… whatever he called himself could mock Vanagor all he wanted to, it did not matter at this point, not that it did to begin with. He was irrelevant. Right now, Caltin was angry about someone else, someone who clearly needed to face the evil he was facing at the moment but was succumbing to doubt. That was Jax Thio Jax Thio . The big man did not know the details and did not concern himself over them, he knew that Jax touched his mind and that was all he needed.

Would Sadow feel this? Did that really matter at this point?

You had better give what is left of your soul to the deity, whichever one you may have prayed to at some time in your life, because the rest of your, Wallgof’s whoever’s scrawny ass will belong to me! I've crippled more Sith than you have met, let alone ruled over.

Disengaging the blade of “Conservator” and tossing it at the feet of the Sith in front of him, Caltin did not care that “Vanguard” was in reach or that he could pull his primary back into his hand. It did not even matter if Sadow would pick up the long handle hilt, it would not activate due to the “Kenobi’s Legacy” crystal in the cylinder or the signature technology keeping anyone but him from using it. None of this mattered. He was now in the mood for a fight, and win or lose he was not getting out of it.

I'm gonna kick your teeth so far down your throat you'll be able to chew your own ***** out for pissin' me off.

Sadow can say what he wants, Vanagor was tuning him out at this point. In fact to the point where he charged through the Force, not committing to anything until Sadow did then he would react.

Ronval had fought his fair share of darksiders, and he could feel the light tingle of Force-induced pain. He did not need Ariana Du Couteau Ariana Du Couteau to warn him before he gave the command:

<"Maintain distance.">

"The Maw murdered billions but at this point who hasn't? There is blood on every single power in this Galaxies hands, but the Maw has a vision of building something a vision all others lack. Too late, several of the soldiers were already affected by her power, falling over as their compatriots struggled to pull them away. But not too late for the others to open fire.

"There's about to be your blood on my hands, tyrant!" Rusty shouted. On the comms, however, the agent gave a little less bravado:

<"Maintain distance cordon and withdraw to the exits now,"> he ordered. There was no way Dyans Keto Dyans Keto had no final backup, and besides, he did not want to give her the chance to escape or play her game any longer. He pointed his carbine's micro-rocket attachment at the ceiling.

<"BRING THE ROOF DOWN!"> Blasters, rockets and the SLAM launcher carried by one of the agents roared to life, blasting the ceiling and sending tons of rubble crashing down.

The Throne room itself appeared like a parody of its former self, the carefully sculpted pillars and marble stones ordained with such precious metals and jewels, but now it resembled something more akin to a Sith temple if anything. The corruption of the Dark Side was not something to take lightly, her Father explained the deadly spread of the Dark Side and to be vigilant of it at all times.

Ariana at the moment found it far more difficult to ignore the Dark Side, the sheer quantity of the presence of many Sith, Warlocks and Sorceresses was nearly drowning for Ariana. With careful steps she approached the rest of the Alliance soldiers, as a few more Resistance Fighters spilled in to secure the breach of the Throne room.

The current occupier of the Throne, Dyans Keto, someone that Ariana held vague memories back during her history lessons. It mattered little in the current situation of course, her speech was maddening and induced a sense of rage Ariana had only held once; and with such contempt. But before she could move closer to confront Keto, the Alliance Soldiers were already moving to engage and possibly detain the lady. In Ariana’s opinion that the last part was farfetched, the surrender rates of Maw forces were worryingly low, and in true fashion Keto refuted the chance to present terms of surrender.

The miasma of Dark Side energy only continued to grow, and as Ariana moved forward to assist the Alliance Soldiers, she stopped abruptly. Reflexively she threw her hands forward, generating a powerful Force shield, much like her Father showed her, and pushed it further to encompass Rusty and his Soldiers as a form of protection. A sense of relief encouraged Ariana as she felt herself push back the tendrils of the Dark Side threatening to drag them all to an early grave.

Ariana felt her shield break, fingers grow cold, and dread began to fill the pit of her stomach. It made her convulse, but Ariana managed to keep the contents of her stomach inside. She clenched her fists with determination, flickers of blossoming white embers embroiled her forearms and fists. Taking a single painful step forward, then a next, then a next, and with each step it became slightly easier.

She saw the Alliance Soldiers blast the ceiling to collapse it right on top of Keto. Fearing that Keto would simply create a Force bubble to block the debris, Ariana sped her walk to a jog, before into a dead-sprint. She slowly generated as much momentum as possible to deliver a weakened right jab into Dyans Keto’s body.

The energy built to a crescendo inside Dyans as the soldiers retreated firing up at the ceiling causing it to collapse. Before she could react Ariana Du Couteau Ariana Du Couteau charged her and through the blast shield, she had erected from the throne. The girl launched herself at Dyans and swung for Dyans body with an embered fist. The fist struck Dyans chest against the Krath armor she was wearing; had she been standing it probably would have knocked her back but as she was braced by the throne, she was sitting her back slammed hard against the melt splat of the throne. The wind left Empresses lungs as she was pinned there but out of instinct her hands grabbed at the arms of the one who had punched her.

As the ceiling came down all around them both Dyans was fully committed to being crushed under the Palace. She as willing to die for her world, her people, and the choices she had made. The Empress almost died before but the odd thing as she stared directly into, he eyes of the woman who punched her, her thoughts were not on the moment at hand. Instead, she was thinking of her four daughters, her husband, and her two siblings. It didn't matter if she dies her legacy would live on through them and one of them would no doubt pick up her cause. That was the thing about the rise and fall of empires someone always rose up in their ancestor's place.

Dyans had to wonder if this young woman before was also prepared to die and if they had left anything behind. As she sat there, she let out force burst from all the energy that had built up inside and sent it forth causing the ground to shake and collapse as the whole Palace began to shatter and break apart. Those who were still with in these walls would have to run fast or find this place as their tomb. The Symbol of the Tetan Empire and the Keto family was going to be nothing but a rumbled tomb in a matter of minutes. A simple mental message was sent to the mind of Ariana Du Couteau Ariana Du Couteau as Dyans tried to keep a hold of the woman. "Are you willing to die for this throne and this world?" A smile crossing Dyans face as soon they would both be buried.

Broken tiles had torn through the air and were met by the dulling effects of the force and then soft flesh - it hadn't mattered how effective they had been, how damaged her enemy would become, or just how threatening such a display may have appeared to be. It had given the two time to separate while interrupting the Jedi's offensive momentum. Valery Noble Valery Noble had, evidently, resigned herself to playing the part of a human shield while Mori steadily unveiled the true threat she could have posed at any given moment - one that was revealed only as her side appeared to be pushed back from the planet's surface. Dyans Keto Dyans Keto would likely never forgive her if she understood just how much restraint she had offered to their mutual enemies, assuming she lived through the night, nor would any of the various Sith and their cohorts if they knew she had accepted the loss of the planet before anyone had even managed to fire the first shot. It had served as a stepping stone towards Tython, and that was now behind them; Empress Teta was now as useless as Korriban had been.

And she had worked to destroy Korriban.

For the first time since the start of their fight Mori broke her silence, voicing her amusement with the Jedi's continued persistence with a sharp and loud laugh. Fate and its strings had pulled at every turn to ensnare the Sith, to kill her at each opportunity where death could manifest itself, and now the force was using this meat bag as yet another puppet to try to engineer her end before she could leave the planet to pose a risk to the force itself. All of them, the Jedi and their filth, thought they were more powerful than the likes of the Sith because of their stalwart belief in the light side of the force but were blind to the blatant fear the force had for terrors such as herself, beings that desired more than anything to uproot its tyrannical hierarchy so that the ones it oppressed could finally be free.

Fiery winds and flames whirled towards her as the building shook, begging the Dark Voice for mercy as she relinquished the last vestiges of restraint, before their existence culminated in a bright outline of a woman beneath. Like the light of a dead star in the last moments of being consumed by the gaping hole in space itself, Darth Mori was surrounded by the remnants of the woman's attack while she repurposed its power into herself - some advanced combination of what must have been tutaminis and the passive act of draining the force. She took a step forwards as the walls groaned, a foreshadowing of what was to come, and flicked her lightsaber to the side, the pillar of red hatred that made up its blade slowly withering away until nothing was left - or it was shut off. Like on Rhand she fed openly, almost mockingly, on the force and on the world itself, the air growing stale while the very room around them slowly gave into the crushing pull of a hunger so powerful. Entire chunks of ceiling fell around them, weakened like the ground beneath their feet, and she slowly lifted her free hand to grasp at the air, as if she was tugging on the fabric of space itself - or perhaps on the force - and her lips separated despite the urge to keep a grin set in the shifting features of her face.

Then, just as she appeared poised to familiarize the Jedi, and perhaps Teta as a whole, with the devastating effects of the dark side of the force, the roofing - and thus the entirety of the ceiling - caved in.

It was sudden, abrupt even, collapse that she had either not anticipated, or perhaps teasingly used to her advantage - the result was the same even if she had known of this impending doom, however, as it prevented her from doing much more than being obscured by falling debris and a massive wave of dust and smoke that followed. She seemed largely unfazed by this turn of events, bothering only to take several steps back, and tried her best to keep her eyes locked onto the Jedi as the two were separated by the Alliance's rather timely intervention.

"Next time." She mouthed --

And then she was gone.
