OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Allegedly based on 'legitimately salvaged' Gree technology, the groundwork for Riftwell Modules was laid during the development of a specialised kind of whipblade. While initially successful, compounding logistical problems lead to the subproject being assigned its own team and funding.
With time and plentiful funding, these issues were resolved and the project expanded noticeably. No longer limited solely to Riftblades, the new and improved devices could be fitted to everything from gloves to jewellery for limited storage or massive freight modules for bulk transportation. Given the rare and somewhat experimental nature of the technologies involved, its use in freight would surely be limited to rather extraordinary situations.
- Intent: Fold space for enhanced storage.

- Model: XT-3 Riftwell Module
- Modularity: Limited; size*.
- Production: Semi-Unique
- Material: Components.
- Riftwell Modules contain an artificial extradimensional space anchored in its entirety within the module itself. A moderate amount of matter* can be held within indefinitely; if the Module is severely damaged or otherwise disabled, it would be unable to add or subtract remove from itself, but the contents would not necessarily 'spill out'. Depending on the circumstances, this 'fail-secure' design can be a boon or a bane.
- Riftblade Modules are incorporated into the hilt of a weapon (often a whipblade), allowing the blade to be retracted for compact storage.
- As such blades are composed of solid matter, they naturally cannot be instantaneously 'turned on or off', unlike a lightsaber.
- Hidden Depths: Riftwell Modules can compress moderate amounts of matter for compact storage and quickly expel it as necessary.
- Ontological Inertia: If damaged, Riftwell Modules keep their contents inside until repaired; less than ideal if it holds your weapon.

*A Riftwell Module's capacity scales with its size; a massive freight Module can hold vastly more than, say, a bracelet or a hilt.
