ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Coordination of Missile Batteries Linked to Extensive Droid Brain Networks. Improved Targeting Capabilities with Guided Munitions
  • Advanced Quick-Loading Mechanisms for Ordnance Tubes
STRENGTHS
  • Missiles: The Arlionne-class Destroyer has over 40 missile launch tubes at its disposal. With coordination and targeting of its ordinances linked it extensive droid brain networks, the destroyer can reliably target hostile vessels from long ranges.
  • Speedy: The destroyer can be propelled at great speeds by its 7 primary impulse drives.
  • Heavily Automated: The droid brain networks of the Arlionne-class keep its crew far smaller than would have been necessitated by a less automated design. Being linked to the coordination of the destroyer's weapon systems, the droid brains also tend to reduce the possibility of human error during combat.
WEAKNESSES
  • Highly Explosive: With so many volatile explosives stored within its frame, the Arlionne-class Destroyer is incredibly vulnerable to the detonation of even a single warhead inside its hull. Well-placed shots to its port and starboard missile arrays will trigger a catastrophic chain reaction.
  • Lacking in Anti-Fighter Defenses: Aside from its fast-tracked turbolaser mountings, the Arlionne carries no other capable anti-starfighter weaponry, leaving it vulnerable to starfighter formations and requiring it to always be kept under escort.
  • Low Hangar Capacity: The Arlionne can bring only a measly 2 squadrons into battle, with most of its internal capacity having been dedicated to munitions storage facilities.
  • Vulnerable Engines: The Arlionne’s point defense coverage is relatively limited, and its aft section is a notable blind spot that hostile craft can take advantage of.
  • Droid Brains: An enemy who can successfully hack into the Arlione’s droid brain networks will have near-full control over its missile systems and various other subsystems.
  • Limited Munitions: Despite the amount of warheads that can be launched in a single salvo (as result of the destroyer’s numerous missile batteries), mass-launches are quite ill-advised except in desperate situations as they will quickly drain the Arlionne’s supply of ordnances.
DESCRIPTION
As the flames of the Second Great Hyperspace War wash across the galaxy, Alliance worlds fall to the ruthless expansion of the Brotherhood of the Maw. The former has made every attempt to push back– to ward off these furious invaders–, at times leading incursions into Mawite space and seeking to reclaim strategically-vital planets. But their successes and attempts alike are low in number, and any such incursion is often accompanied by dramatic loss of life.

The Arlionne’s design phase began in response to this unfortunate pattern. 900 meters from bow to stern and carrying hundreds of warheads within its expansive munitions bays, the destroyer would be primarily offensive in purpose– meant to strike at a Brotherhood fleet from well out of effective turbolaser range through the use of its immense missile battery. Naturally, these scenarios would appear during Alliance-led invasions, engagements where the Alliance dictated the field of battle and where it would be almost guaranteed the Arlionne begin its attack at range.

In situations where the destroyer found itself on the receiving end of a Mawite strike, however, its predominantly offensive nature left it ill-equipped to function anywhere except in the rear guard of a formation. Its targeting profile was massive, its shields lacking in robustness and its highly volatile munitions supplies making any sort of damage potentially fatal. Thus, in such engagements, Arlionne destroyers were best employed as fire support vessels, tucked safely behind other, more robust support ships and not meant to receive a single hit themselves.

Very nicely made as usual. However this is more than Average defences, this is high because of the advanced ECM and Electronic Warfare Suites. These are also included in the defences rating. So please modify your rating to High, or modify the Advanced suites back to Standard.
