Mission Pirates! [Galactic Alliance + NJO + Good Samaritans]

A largely agricultural world, Kinyen's only real claim to fame was that it lay on the Corellian Trade Spine and Great Gran Run hyperlanes. Sitting right at the edge of Galactic Alliance space in the Expansion Rim, it's a quiet world largely unperturbed by the events of the galaxy at large and it's citizens are (generally) content to carry on with their lives in peace.

Peace ends today.

The Gran homeworld is being raided by pirates, desperate for anything resembling a score. The ambush came at first light, in the form of a wave of bombers softening up a small city with proton torpedoes. Then came the drop ships—a very unusual tactic only used by the most organized of pirate bands—landing combatants in the shelled parts of the city, who have begun ransacking buildings for any and all items worth the smallest amount of value.

The sheer number of pirates and vessels involved in the raid was far beyond anything the people of Kinyen could have ever prepared for. It falls to the Galactic Alliance to protect its people.

B0tJV5Q.png

OBJECTIVE I - Air Superiority
The pirate fleet has retreated to orbit for now, but after their first successful raid on the city, intelligence suggests they are preparing for a second bombing run. Alliance fighter pilots are in high demand: they are expected to intercept the bombers, shoot down down the accompanying pirate fighters, and prevent pirate dropships and freighters from touching down in the city and looting it further. Bring your own ship, but fly with a wingman. The skies above Kinyen are crowded, and it's never a bad thing to have someone on your six.

kL3uWDU.png

OBJECTIVE II - Chaos in the Streets
Coming off of the heels of the first bombing run, a wave of pirates have landed their spacecraft in the city, and have taken to plundering its homes and businesses. Criminal scum walk the streets in abundance, robbing and shooting anyone who happens to come across their path, and have taken to breaking into buildings to loot. Jedi and soldiers of the Galactic Alliance have been called upon to break the pirates' hold over the city streets. Be on guard: where there is one pirate, there are usually more.

tg0oY36.png

OBJECTIVE III - Triage
In the wake of the bombing, a nearby schoolhouse has been temporarily converted into a shelter and clinic. Those caught in the blasts, or the subsequent collapsing of buildings, have been brought here by courageous volunteers to seek medical treatment. But there are far more patients than people to treat them. Jedi healers, doctors, nurses—all those with even a modicum of experience in the medical field are being called upon to assist the injured.

Open to all GA and NJO members, as well as good Samaritans who might pitch in to chase off a few pirates!

Gatz stepped out of a makeshift room, his shirt and jeans splattered in drying blood.

Exhaustion flooded through him, evident by the heavy bags under his eyes, and the way his legs trembled. There were just too many injured civilians, and not enough doctors to go around. Those that were here in this school-turned-clinic were tending to the people with the worst injuries: those caught in the initial bombing, suffering in ways that made Gatz feel sick.

He’d seen a lot of John and Jane Does today—so horrifically burned that they were unable to be identified.

The worst part was that it hadn’t ended there. Shortly after the bombing, pirates had flooded into the city, looting what they desired, and shooting who they wanted. Gatz had sutured more stab wounds and treated more blaster wounds over the course of this one day than he had in his six years in Hutt space.

Even worse was that with every hour, more wounded poured in. Already their makeshift rooms, cordoned off by nothing more than curtains and blankets, were full. For every person available to help, there were five or six people who needed help. And many of those who were helping were like him: more nurses than doctors.

Simple wounds he could handle. So could most of the people helping. But very few possessed the steady and practiced hands of a true surgeon, which many of the injured needed.

They were going to lose people tonight. That was inevitable. But if more help—more qualified help—didn’t show up soon, they might just lose everyone.

The only thing to do was to keep moving, keep helping, and pray that the Force sent a miracle their way.

Please, Gatz begged silently, if everything is the Will of the Force, then please let it be merciful tonight. Send us people who can actually help.

Jasper hadn't flown in some time, not like this anyways.

It hardly mattered, of course. He was a pilot at heart, a skilled inventor who crafted his own vessels by hand. Instinct kicked in, like putting on a familiar pair of work gloves. The Sentinel of Harmony flew with no squadron, nor did he intend to wait for backup. He'd take whoever arrived, but the objective was clear. Prevent the next wave of bombers from reaching the city. If anything, Jasper Kai'el was a man of action.

Sitting and waiting was not his style.

<Nearby pilots, be advised,> Jasper began over the open channel, <Hostile contacts are 15 clicks out from current position. Lonestar 1 has S-Foils open and intent to engage. Magnetic Pulse Warheads are being primed. If y'all are following me in, I suggest you get ready.>

"Alright Blip,"
he continued off comms, "Re-route power to to our engines and prep the mag pulse warheads for deployment. Let's see if we can't knock a bunch of them out of the sky."

His astromech gave a responce of melodic beeps and boops, indicating that he was on it. They would need to move fast. The shockwave would pick off a few fighters, he thought, enough to give the rest of the gathered pilots an opening to break through their lines and pick them off from either side. He just needed to make the opening.

Jasper didn't often feel excited about missions, but flying always had a certain thrill. It was as though his vessel was an extention of his being, enhancing his speed and capability for travel in a way he could never achieve alone.

It was as though flying was in his DNA.

Everything seemed like a blur. No matter how many pirates she stopped more just kept coming. Her twin white blades danced and spun, trying to protect the people barricaded in their own homes. There was an evacuation happening, with troops relocating civilians up to the mountains. The hard part was getting to the civilians however as the pirates seemed to be breaking into homes and shooting first so they could loot. Katarine did not understand the savage need to cut down civilians for a score. Just the thought of that made her stomach churn and she tasted bile in her throat. She had already stopped a trio from taking advantage of a group of women, and another duo from shooting a group of children. What kind of monsters were these?

Her senses on high alert, she felt something behind her and spun just in time to catch a blaster bolt and send it sailing back to the shooter. The corpse fell down smoking but there was little time to mourn the loss. Katarine kicked in the door of the home and saw a family crouched there.

"Go! Now!"

They ran outside to troopers waiting to take them to the mountains and Kat willed the Force to see them there safely.

"Hey, Aris? I think we took a wrong turn..."

The two Nobles had planned to help with medical aid for the people hurt in the bombing, but rather than make it to the medical station, they found themselves in increasingly shady territory. The streets looked dirty, the alleyways seemed full of dangerous people, and if what she read was correct, there were pirates in the area too.

What would they do if they saw two young Jedi?

"You should stay close. I'll try to guide us, but I'm going to need you to protect me." Both because he was the better fighter, and because visions and senses could sometimes overwhelm her. If she were to shut down in the wrong street, there wouldn't be anything she could do to defend herself.

"Mom and Dad are going to be pissed if they hear about this..."

“Healer Padawan!” Izara shouted to Gatz as she came running down the hall and towards the nearby operating theater, clad in a blood-stained gown that was many sizes too large for her diminutive form. Behind her, a group of paramedics wheeled in a new patient—another victim of the bombings. This one, a middle-aged female Gran, had been luckier than many of the patients the clinic had already received, but her injuries were severe regardless. Her legs had been crushed by falling debris and it was only through the timely intervention of a telekinetic Force-user that the crews had been able to extract her. In that, she had also suffered a concussion and had lacerations across her hips, shoulders, and arms.

And yet, it went without saying that she needed immediate surgery or a Force healer.

Given her extensive surgical databases, Izara could have operated on her. However, the biot had yet to progress out of her internship under Doctor Upacha. As such, her doing so was a gray area that might see her lose her license. Unfortunately, the fact that there were no surgeons available (who were not already engaged in operations) for a patient who required immediate attention meant that something had to be figured out quickly.

“Healer Padawan, have you…” Izara paused. Registering the bags under Gatz’s eyes, the biot knew that she was asking a lot from him. “Healed anyone today? I can treat her lacerations, but her legs are…” The biot pulled open the cover, exposing the Gran’s discolored, bruised legs that appeared to be nearing necrosis. “If we don’t treat this soon, she might lose them.”

Pirates.

Disillusioned travelers interested in profit by any means necessary.

Liram hated piracy.

With a snap of light, “The Celestial City” dropped out of hyperspace. Immediately “General Quarters” was sounded. There was a small pirate fleet blockading the planet and they were on their trained schedules and stations. The mood was busy and tense, but well under control. Liram ran these simulations whenever there was free time to do so. As the bridge was locking down as well as main engineering, the Well Deck as well as the launch bays were running on overdrive, launching fighters and preparing Marines for a landing and insertion to assist in the defense of the planet and system.

“CONN - Tactical” The outburst from the Tactical supervisor bellowed throughout the bridge. Liram nodded quickly.

Go ahead.

“Sir, we have multiple engagements down on the planet, it’s a soup down there, sir.”

Acknowledged. Prep a firing solution on any of their larger ships and send out comms to them. We won’t fire if we don’t have to, but if they fight, we’ll blow’em out of the skies.

As the Tactical Department went about their work, the Helm was busy steering an intercept course, and Comms was sending out wide band transmissions “Pirate Fleet! This is the Galactic Alliance. Surrender and withdraw or prepare to be boarded.” on repeat. Liram was at his command table, pulling up the launch decks. Specifically Ewan “Raider” Isaacs, his SCAR Team leader and C.A.G.

”Raider”.

Sir.

Launch X-wings, direct engagement down on the planet. I want Super-Angels as well as Elysians buying your boys time to assault their lead ship. .

You want bombers running?.

Only if they get stubborn. Launch your Starfurys too. I don't want any slipping by at us.

We'll give'em hell..

Game on, Yakhead .

Cutting the
comm, Liram brought up a layout of IFFs.

More trouble permeated the galaxy. The bombing run having turned peace and everyday life into a living nightmare none might wake from.

Escorting more into the school turned hospital, Millia couldn't help but send a silent prayer skyward for guidance and a steady hand. Halls filled to the brim with wounded. The sounds of pain and misery drowning out any sort of helpful talk. Her own hands busy measuring the wounds of each as she passed by.

Severity was always a difficult thing to account for. An old beast could carry itself with the burn of many Blaster bolts. The young. A single stray shot might down them. The need to tend to their caretakers made the task all the more difficult then as she took stock.

Standing to look back and forth before moving further in. Passing by the curtained walls as a Gran was brought in. Painful ebbs making Millia focus sharply and pass through the halls to follow the gurney.

Only able to catch the last few words as she entered onto a conversation to see a smaller woman speaking with a human male. Eyes running over the heavily damaged legs of the patient before shifting back to the others.

"Are her legs the worst of it?" The words barely finished as she set her medical bag along the wall to unzip the top.

[Initializing. . . . . Processing Orders. . . .Accepted. . . . ]

[H]annah stepped forward to collect a fallen fleeing civilian, blaster fire erupted around them but with her larger frame and tail the civilian remained relatively safe. It only took a few moments for Hannah to deposit the civilian behind shelter, but the blaster fire only continued to increase in volume. That was quite unacceptable and Hannah quickly turned around and began to scan and mark several Pirates. While she knew her body could absorb quite a bit of punishment, these Pirates would react quite aggressively once they knew their current fire power was insufficient.

[. . .Creating a new path. . . . Parameter's adjusted. . .]

A single step forward and Hannah moved forward with as much speed as she could allow herself while maintaining sufficient cover. The first Pirate reacted poorly and charged into her with a knife and blaster pistol firing in her direction, Hannah spun forward and slammed the Pirate with her heavy tail. The Pirate crumpled beneath the weight and Hannah continued to march forward with haste. The alleyway to her right was filled with targets, but it also included dumpsters and other assorted objects that were at least half her height.

Several shouted orders were heard by Hannah, the Pirates clearly wanted to push through here and pillage the homes of newly evacuated civilians. She soon found herself under constant hail of blaster fire but Hannah slowly brought over her automatic blaster cannon ‘Boar’ from her back. Evenly leveling the barrel Hannah quickly marked the closet targets and pulled down the trigger. The Pirates charge was devastatingly blunted, and unfortunately Hannah’s fears of the Pirates changing their tactics proved correct. The few remaining fled when they saw their blaster fire was ineffective against her, Hannah began to bring up the map of the area. She felt comfortable enough to not give chase, as there was no easy path back to the evacuation point.

Blaster fire drew her attention back to the main streets and Hannah began to march back out there to provide security and safety. A few Alliance Soldiers were escorting a group of Civilians while providing cover fire, Hannah quickened her steps and also began to add to their cover fire. Forcing several pirates to head back into cover, Hannah marched forward to push back the Pirate’s attempt to advance towards the Alliance evacuation zone.

"This is Knight Vyres, I am in trouble."

There was no point sugar coating it. Another hail of blaster bolts. He let the Force guide his movements, deflecting two as he backed away. Another two bolts lashed past him and he had to trust the Force that they were not going to strike him.

He didn't have any of his usual technical tricks. Just a lightsaber and a fletchette pistol and his robes. Makko had lit the lightsaber and chased a small group of pirates away from a shop.

They had come back with friends.

Rather than looting, they seemed quite determined to kill the young jedi.

Reptilian eyes scanned the perimeter of North West Street as the various vagabonds and pirates made a move against the civilian populace currently living in that area; breaking down doors and rounding up valuables for transport. One might ask why the Infamous Bounty Hunter Karkosuchus was working as lowly protection detail for these scum but one only really had to look at the collapse of the galactic governments to figure out why, bounty hunting as a career had been on the decline and so when the offer of work came up there was no room for refusal.

There were not many threats against their invasion of the world as it was incorrectly assumed that the Galactic Alliance would be busy waging war with the Mandalorian Enclave and not have adequate protection within their territories. That mistake was later rectified when they were alerted to the presence of Alliance Defense Forces and the New Jedi Order landing planet side.

Karkosuchus was not afraid of any jedi having tested his battle skills against the legendary Valery Noble and even gone up against the infamous Ivory Shroud on Denon. But no one was invulnerable to the passages of time and he had not gotten any younger, so caution was paramount to the success of the pirate incursion.

"Hurry up..We don't have long before the Defense Forces arrive to clear out this street."

Came the voice from snapped jaws, as clawed fingers clocked the concussion rifle in his hand and perched himself on a nearby ledge overlooking the street square.

"I'm honestly more worried if Master Bri hears of this."

It was supposed to be simple. Go and help with medical relief. Aris couldn't do too much in that regard with the Force, but he still could help. And that's what he wanted to do, but.. Yeah. Master Briana was not going to be very pleased when she found out the pair of them ended up on an actual battlefield. They weren't supposed to be here. And yet, could they really escape from here? If they were careful.

Vera's visions would help a lot.

"We're staying together. Seszil will keep us safe if we need him, but-"

"This is Knight Vyres, I am in trouble."

The comlink cut him off. He blinked, glancing to it, then to Vera. That was Makko.

".. Should we go help him?"

Vera frowned, "She already knows. I sent a comm signal to Master Briana Sal-Soren Briana Sal-Soren , so she can pick us up." She didn't want to rat herself and her brother out, but this was serious business. Even with her visions, Aris' skills and Seszil to protect them, they had to at least tell their Master what happened. She just hoped that Briana would recognize this as an honest mistake — it had never been their plan to end up here, after all.

Though, as soon as she heard Makko Vyres Makko Vyres over comms, Vera's plans were rapidly changing.

"M-Makko?" Vera felt a weird tension in her chest that she couldn't quite explain, and looked at her brother with an even deeper frown. She didn't like that he was in trouble at all, so she knew exactly what they needed to do. "Well, Master Sal-Soren is going to kill us either way, so might as well be good Jedi while we still can."

"We help him."

Vera tapped her comms and drew in a small breath for confidence, <Knight Vyres, Padawans Noble and Noble are on their way.> She knew that probably sounded silly to him, but she was dead serious.

"Let's go get him!"

Triage was the last place Briana ever thought she'd find herself, not being one who was particularly skilled in the healing arts. Cybelle Elyance Cybelle Elyance , Iris Arani Iris Arani , this was their domain. For Briana, her ideal scenario involved wielding a lightsaber, smack dab in the thick of battle. But now, with two green-as-grass Padawans in her care, Briana felt compelled to err on the side of caution and take them to a place where the fighting was minimal. This way, they could get practical experience while ensuring their safety.

At least until they were ready to handle the more dangerous tasks that were often associated with being a Jedi.

Not that Briana was under any illusion that this was going to be easy. They were still children after all, and this was an ugly thing to face, no matter ones skill level. Over the years she'd seen a great variety of wounds and injuries and had engaged in countless battles as a Jedi, making her well aware of the pain that sometimes came along with it. Yet, there was something about being up close with the wounded that exposed a brutally raw side of reality.

Maybe I shouldn't have brought them here at all. Maybe they aren't ready for this yet. Briana thought, idly chewing on the inside of her cheek as she moved from room to room, trying to figure out where the Noble duo had gone off to as a slowly building sense of unease began to creep in. She'd given them explicit instructions to meet her here, yet they were no where to be found.

"Hey," stepping into the path of one of the passing nurses, "I'm looking for a couple of kids — Padawans of mine. One of them has blue and orange eyes? The other one's about yay-high? Have you seen them?"

"Can't say that I have," the Twi'lek responded, a touch of impatience creasing his brow as he maneuvered around Briana to continue his duties. "Try checking with Gatz or Millia, they've been coordinating efforts with the Jedi Healers in the main tent." he pointed the way. "Now, if you'll excuse me."

"Sure, thanks." Briana nodded, a bit absently as she processed his words, her rapidly thumping heart slowing. It made sense. They probably went to Gatz after realizing she wasn't there yet.

Stuffing her hands in her pockets, Briana turned and began moving to find her friend and
hopefully her Padawan's as well. Albeit at a quickened pace. Where else could they possibly be?

Gatz had just leaned himself up against a wall—just for one moment to catch his breath—when he heard Doctor Izara shouting his name. She came running at him down the hall, and Gatz gulped down air and pushed himself off the wall to meet her. With the biot came his next patient, and they were not in a pretty state. Lacerations, clear signs of being crushed... they were in serious need of help.

And Gatz simply didn't have the expertise to help with wounds this serious. To say nothing of the fact that, even if he'd been fresh, the best he could do with the Force was heal shallow cuts. It was why he had taken to treating the less serious patients, and those with the odd blaster wound or stab wound. He'd made himself busy coordinating their efforts here, because that was the best way he knew how to pitch in.

This though? This was beyond him.

"Doctor," his voice was tired and hoarse, "this isn't something I can help with. The lacerations I could help you suture. The legs... I'm sorry. I wouldn't even know where to begin saving those."

For all the studying he'd done since returning to the Order, he was still new to the field of medicine. He was a nurse, in practicality. Not a doctor, or surgeon, or a Jedi Healer. Even so, he couldn't just do nothing. So Gatz prepared himself to take a crack at saving the Gran's legs.

And, as if the Force had heard his plea, that was when someone more qualified than he was stepped in. Some redhead whose name he didn't care to learn, not if introductions would belate saving the Gran for even a moment. With the newfound medic hanging her bag, up, Gatz stepped out of her way.

"Thank you," he offered to the new woman, before turning back to Izara, "she's got you covered. I'll move on to the next—"

Gatz felt a presence he would always recognize. Relief flooded him. It didn't matter that Briana was a warrior, and not a healer. He was just glad to have an extra set of hands for anything, especially if they were being supplied by someone he trusted implicitly. Tonight would be hectic, and things were shit. But Briana was here, and that was enough to remind him that—just maybe—things would turn out okay.

He stepped out of the curtained room, and spotted her immediately—talking, rather hurriedly, with the male Twi'lek whose name Gatz had forgotten hours ago, if he'd ever learned it in the first place. She turned away from the man, and away from Gatz himself.

"Rich Girl!"

Gatz called out over the din of the clinic. He half jogged over to her, his elation at her arrival granting him a few moments of extra energy. Absentmindedly, he noted that he must have looked a mess: hair crazed, eyes with deeper bags under them than when he'd been pursued by Kragan's hunters, and spattered in blood that wasn't his own. Most days, Gatz was a vain man, and wouldn't be caught dead in such a state.

This wasn't most days.

"I'd tackle you in a hug if I wasn't covered in someone else's blood," he breathed out a sigh of relief, and then frowned as he noticed something missing, "wait a minute. Weren't you bringing the twerps?"

[T]he blaster bolts continued to pour out from her heavy weapon, but the return fire had diminished tremendously. Hannah scanned further up ahead, the pirates had finally chosen to retreat and regroup, which Hannah calculated would not take long. For the moment they had secured an avenue for this section of the neighborhood to evacuate into a safe zone. Hannah calculated the time needed to make certain that the remaining alleyways were pirate free and weighed it against chasing down the retreating pirates.
[. . . Begin search and destroy of pirate hostels. . .]
Hannah rolled her shoulders, carefully leveling her weapon forward and began to march towards the direction that she last saw the retreating pirates. The remaining Alliance Soldiers were enough to maintain more than adequate protection and offer moderate defensive abilities. While certainly it could be improved upon with her presence, Hannah calculated that reducing the enemy’s number would also significantly improve the Alliance’s position. There were probably more civilians that hadn’t been able to evacuate in time and needed the Alliance to push out the Pirates.
While her speed was not particularly fast, it did allow her to properly scan the nearby buildings and alleyways by the time she finished marching past them. So far no pirates had been revealed this way, but fortunately no civilians had remained in the danger zone either. [No living sentients have been scanned] Hannah corrected herself, her scanners had indeed observed several broken bodies strewn across floors with blaster holes marking their bodies.
[. . . Too late to provide medical aid. . .]
A transmission broke the eerie quietness that was surrounding her, it was an urgent message from a Jedi requesting assistance. Hannah began to run the calculations to triangulate both distance and time as well as adjusting her mission parameters. While it was not a direct order and her obligations were to the Alliance Military Command not Jedi, their value was significant enough to drastically change any military operations. But perhaps fortunately the next transmission was of newer Jedi answering the request, no doubt they were closer and would arrive sooner.
Just as Hannah finished her calculations and slotted it away for future backup plans, a torrent of blaster fire rained upon her from several directions. Carefully her eyes scanned the first target but found no life form signature, but blaster fire continued to erupt from a dark alleyway. Regardless she returned fire and sparks flew across her vision as she saw a badly patched security droid explode into several pieces. Hannah adjusted her scans and found that several other droids were being used. Their frequencies were quite apparent to her sensors, but their encryption required more time and processing power than Hannah was willing to allocate.
Instead she marched into the same alleyway she made free of hostels, now with only two ways for the pirates to come at her it made her target acquisition far simpler. Her HUD showed a decrease of her armor integrity and kept an open mind to make use of sufficient cover for her next firefight. Pressing herself against the metal walls, she moved a dumpster with her tail to better keep much of her body covered while allowing her a good enough sightline for any approaching droids or pirates.

<Knight Vyres, Padawans Noble and Noble are on their way.> She knew that probably sounded silly to him, but she was dead serious.

"What? No! You two stay back from here!" Makko said firmly into his comm.

He knew the two of them had been trained for years by two of the most powerful Jedi masters in the Galaxy. He knew that he needed help.

The first pirate rounding the corner reminded Makko of that. He deflected two bolts, one right back that downed the gran. Several more joined and he was forced to fall back. He could sense more of them trying to get around him.

He had babysat for the two Nobles they had just started training. He wasn't supposed to put children in harm's way.

"Oh fuck off!" Makko cried out. He yanked down an entire strip of metal guttering with the Force and launched it at them. His comm was on.

"Not you Vera. Regroup with the others, I'll make my way there."

While on said ledge the distinct ringing of a holodisk could be heard, as clawed fingertips dug through the armored jumpsuit's various pockets and nooks. They touched something metal and beeping and figured that must be it...pulling it out to reveal that it was a toothpick. Throwing it to the ground with a small thud, as the holodisk finally appeared and a simple message began to play from one of the Pirate Boss Nal'zar who was in charge of the east side operations during the pirate incursions.

"Hey..Karko..Listen we might have a small problem with a jedi. We have'em surrounded by our bois but knowing jedi they spring up like bunnies during sex season, so..bound to be more. Could you help em out in dealing with the jedi." The Pirate Boss explained in a stereotypical way; not overly concerned that the Alliance's Best Warriors had arrived on the battlefield; disrupting communications and causing morale to lower. No self respecting pirate would challenge a battle harden jedi unless they outnumbered you ten to one. Karkosuchus had better things to do than play babysitter to a bunch of vagabonds but recalled his contract with them, blasted contract..

"Fine..I'll handle your jedi problem but I'll expect double the payment..one for each head." Came the response from the Anointed, clearly being annoyed with the situation but when money called you typically answered and right now money was tight. Leaping from the ledge into a nearby garage to pull out something the pirates had brought along to scare the civilian's into submission and make them easier to rob from.

The sound of an engine roared to existence as the WLO-5 Speeder Tank exited towards the street, flipping the switch for the radio as one did when driving a tank to fight some jedi. The sound of a tank driving through the street was enough to alert anyone nearby to the situation, but that mattered little to the Anointed Bounty Hunter.

"Jedi Claus is coming to town...JEDI CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN!!"

Came the song on the radio; good old jedi claus is coming to town. A favorite during the merriment season. It was going to be a happy payday.

If only they'd heard Makko's response.

An alarm blared over the message, right through the whole message.

"-Vera. Regroup ------, I'll make my way there."

Aris just gave a nod to Vera, reaching up to pluck Seszil from his sheath and hold the very heavy sword in one hand. "Protect us on the way. We'll arrive at the rendezvous spot and support Makko." Even if they were just new Padawans, they couldn't ignore a call for help. Surely Briana wouldn't be too disappointed. And, well, Seszil was with them, so at least they weren't completely alone, right?

"Stay close, Vera. Guide me where we need to go."

He smiled to his sister before looking ahead. They'd be able to reach the location soon, together at least.

For anyone that wants to read it, The Angellus family history to this point Is here.

SECTOR: Kinyen / Gran Homeworld - Corellian Trade Route
ORDERS: Secure the area and drive out pirates (OBJ I)
WINGMATES: @Jasper Kai'el
ENGAGING: Pirates

Damn Pirates.

This is not something that should have to be a concern of the Navy, but it is. It is because those of less moral means would take advantage of those of less defensive capabilities. The Navy, The Army, The Starfighter Corps, The Marine Corps, none of them should have to deal with this, they should be focusing on protecting the borders, but no, they are here. They were here and that made Liram want to make quick work of these yakheads. This was nothing against the civilians of Kinyen, or the Corellian Trade route or anywhere, it wasn’t their fault. It was the pirates.

They were smart too. Their little fleet that invaded was a test to see who would respond. The Corvettes in orbit and the hodgepodge starfighters belo were soon joined by well armed bulk cruisers and a stolen Star Destroyer. This would prove to be a strong showing for the privateers being able to wipe the floor with an Alliance group. The problem is, they were facing an Alliance group. The defensive fighters (starfuries) widened their net around the carrier as the heavy guns of “The Celestial City” were soon trained on the incoming vessels.

The bridge was busy, but running like clockwork, everything that was happening was not “preordained” or “predicted” but they were being responded to accordingly. This was the command style of not only a starfighter pilot, but a long time wing commander, Admiral Liram Angellus.

“CONN - FLIGHT”

Go ahead.

“Sir, the Star Destroyer is launching a mix of “uglies”.”

Anything specific? Even “uglies” had advantages depending on the situation.

“No, sir. The fighters down on the planet are starting to take control of the skies.”

Good, I want them to slowly start splitting between the fighters they are facing and those pirate ships in orbit. If needed, pull Sovereignty fighters in to draw attention of those Corrvettes.

“Aye, sir.”

As the Tactical Department went about their work, the Helm was busy steering an intercept course; a “wedge” move was being prepped. The carrier was going to push in between the Star Destroyer and the Bulk Cruisers. Liram was betting on a lack of training on the pirates' end for something like this and they would not be so willing to risk firing on their own ships should they miss. Liram again pulled up the Comms of his CAG, Captain Isaacs

”Raider”.

A little busy, Sir. Watch yourself six! Hang on!
The SCARS were in the middle of a dogfight at the moment.

You want to run on a Star Destroyer?

Good shot Pep! Why not? We could use the exercise.
This was Ewan’s way of calmly saying “&%$#@%! YES!”

Marine backups, or no?

Send’em, I’ll signal when we’re ready. We taking it?
More code “Please can we take it?!”

When the bombers run, that’s your signal!
