Her eyes glanced down at the little pup as the man spoke of everything dying that get's attached to him. That was something a brooding sith would say, even though he claimed not to be one. She looked back up at the man as he turned his back to her asking her not to shot him because something about it being painful to her. She didn't really understand what he meant by that as she had never felt pain for killing anyone before. Though she had no real intention of attempting to kill this man for the moment anyway just using him to get what she was looking for.

Before she could even say a word, the man had just wondered off leaving her with the little pup at her feet. Before she could tell him, she was neither sith nor Jedi herself, though the teachings she had learned were a deviation of the Sith beliefs. That the master's she served saw themselves as the rightful inheritors of the sith empire of old. She quirked an eyebrow from under her mask wondering where the hell the man went off too. Then looked back down at the puppy at her feet, it looked up at her with its red eyes into her Jade eyes. It stared into the abyss of those Jade and began to cower and shake and in just a moment it ran off into the darkness trying to find the man. Phoenix having dominated the pups mind forcing it to keep tabs on the man.

The pup ran off to follow the man and watched as he left up through the library and out of the tower top. It looked up not able to see what the man was doing floating above the tower. It could not see him interacting with whatever he was interacting with then it watched on in dismay as some weird substance began to cocoon itself around the tower. The Pup being non sentient couldn't understand and never would. Still the one behind the dominance of the pups mind could see through its eyes, even she couldn't understand what was happening.

She had a lot of knowledge in the force, but she couldn't even begin to comprehend what was just transpiring. The man seemed to have gone off to explode into a goo or something that or made something explode into a goo like substance around the tower. Maybe it was best she just found some useful knowledge and got the hell out of here before something more strange happened but she couldn't even fathom what could be weirder. "What in the actual hell…..?" the words left her lips she couldn't contain them.

Never again.

They were the words the Corellian had repeated to herself when she left the Order. Words that she continued to believe in while she drowned herself in the outer rim, looking for something she would never find. Yet, they were words she would be swallowing as she looked over the equipment and the mission details. It felt too familiar. Allyson had done these types of checks her entire life; it was clockwork and predictable. The familiarity was welcomed as the paranoia that Aymeric met would suddenly fade. Everything was in its proper place.

The Shadow had returned.

Touchdown was simple and easy. It seemed there was one more that had tagged along, but Allyson took no responsibility for the Cathar. She hadn't been informed about the additional party member, which she would report back to the Order. A hand raised as she motioned to Aymeric and watched the Cathar take her own path. Tilting her head, the mechanical eye zoomed into what the Jedi was doing. Over the radio, she tried to stop her, "<Sto->" Allyson's eyes widened, seeing the avalanche start to shake. "We're out of here. That's going to give away our location." Frustration seethed through the Corellian; whoever trained the other shadow hadn't done a great job. Another conversation she would have to bring to Valery.

Radio static would chime over the shared comms to Jonyna, "<what the kark were you thinking?!>" Allyson didn't wait for a response and moved away from the snow, shaking loose. Reaching back, Allyson slapped a device into Aymeric's hand. "Not as good as a force cloak, but it will keep you hidden well enough." As she finished speaking, she faded from his sight and moved quickly as her own footsteps even disappeared from view.

They had landed not far away, but it was close enough for them to draw closer without any trouble. The pair continued to move till they found where the Sith had blown their own way through and hunkered down. Hopefully, the Cathar would survive whoever went towards them for how foolishly they jumped the gun. Allyson would take advantage of this as the force cloak faded, and a bow was drawn with a shimmering golden arrow of force light. Using the mechanical eye, she searched and noticed a few bodies moving. All were targets, and she let the arrow fly as it spiraled towards an unsuspecting Sith.

The plan was to pick off as much as they could here, then move to infiltrate. Aymeric knew the plan, and she had hoped the other in their sudden trio had also gotten that briefing.

Starlin’s gaze grew cloudy as he saw through the eyes of the Luminous—or rather, sensed its surroundings with the Force, since it had no eyes with which to see the physical world. To his surprise, it didn’t take long before it found someone else in the Academy: a blinged out dude in a fur cape and half mask.

Who does this guy think he is, the vampire of the opera?” Starlin muttered. “Atrisian anime villain lookin’ ass…

He positively reeked of the Dark Side, which made any attempts at peaceful negotiations seem a bit pointless. But before Starlin had a chance to decide what to do, the guy summoned the dead.

Necromancy? Are you kidding me?!... Ugh, fine. No more playing around then.” Starlin transmitted a telepathic command to the Luminous. The Force entity sacrificed itself to release a blast of raw energy all around it, trying to take as many of the thralls out with it. All that remained where the Luminous had once floated was a cloud of billowing smoke, out of which leaped Starlin, lightsaber and shoto ignited.

What’s up, nerd?” he greeted the Sith with a grin. "Did you get lost on your way to a goth convention?"

The Cacoon was solid lava rock, inside there was stillness, and then a sound of cracking, a finger tore through, a claw bathed in Ichor like goo, breaking through the harsh shell, a face, a mask with fangs:

IMG_7999.jpg

The Creature let out a great haunting scream:

The Demon leapt into the air, the cape trailing behind it tattered and flowing as a tail as it plunged into the lake of frost. It tore through the ice and cane to library, smashing through the wall, its great tongue and fangs bearing at the startled little pup. Great green saliva fell from its jaws before the Tukata that cowered before The Creature.

The Beastal Anak placed its clawer hand on the pup that yelped as it drew it up, looking into those big red eyes with its glowing peridot scythes, he saw a shimmering like a mirror reflecting an emerald. It held the Tukata up and then tossed it aside on a couch, it bouncing softly on the burgundy cushion unharmed. The Demon followed the trail, its long pink tongue tapping the floor as it great fangs clicked together. It licked a trail of footprints and followed them into a room. The shaking pup followed, it whined as it kept pace with its Master.

The Hell Spawn sniffed, searching for the one that had before lurked in this Library of Dread. Drip, drip, drip fell the greeb drops from its mouth, till it came upon something hiding beneath a couch. It grabbed with its great claws and pulled out a droid.

“Hello.. I am TZ-14, I am The Librarian. How mat I help you?”

The Demon dropped glowing goo that it spat on the obsidian and red droid with circle glowing yellow eyes.

“Charmed to be sure! Is there a volume I can help you find?”

The Hell Spawn glided its spike tipped clawe against its torso frame and then grabbed its neck. It carried the now hunched Droid into the main library where the books were smoldering in the pile.

“My goodness! No! Those volumes were from The Golden Age!”

The Beastial Anak then dragged the droid to the fire, raising him up.

“Scaw!”

The Droid looked up at the fsngrd mouth.

“Pardon?!”

It spoke again,

“Scan!!!”

The Droid nodded.

“Of course! I am picking up one lifeform, no two, wait three.. uh.. this can’t be right!”

The Son of Hell threw the droid on the pyre who cried out.

“This isn’t protocol! Please! Ouch! Oh!”

The Tukata Pup begab to growl and yap, naking a stand against The Demon who let out a great shriek that nearly threw the Puppy and coverer it in goo.

“Chaw.. come.. ota.. out!”

The Bestial Anak circled the fire, its tongue slithering on the floor as a tentacle.

Marcus crept through the frozen halls of the Bio-Spire, making his way slowly toward the intruder. That is, until they suddenly broke into a run, forcing him to quicken his pace to keep up.

The two were on a collision course—literally, for when Marcus turned the last corner, he nearly crashed into the Light-aligned stranger. He quickly backed away and drew his weapon. The lightsaber ignited, the blade glowing blue in the dimness.

This is not your territory, Jedi,” he said. “Leave now.

It was at that point that the zombies Silas had enslaved arrived, practically stampeding in their frenzied hunger. Marcus turned toward them and immediately deduced that they were much more unruly and bestial than was ideal. Sure enough, two lunged for him rather than attacking the Jedi en masse. Cursing Silas under his breath, he cut the wayward pair down.

Darth Amarok turned his helmeted head to the side to look at Venge.

"What do you mean by not yet?"

"It hasn't occurred to you even once just what sort of power you would be capable of wielding if you could live forever," Venge countered with a question of her own.

"Unending life? Eternal power? Consider me intrigued," Lord Amarok mused.

"Assuming the price required isn't too grave in return," Venge cautioned.

"Point taken," Lord Amarok replied. "Let's be sure and read all the fine print before we commit to anything."

Kentarch could only wonder what he was looking for. Others, Jedi and Sith alike were not far behind him. He knew the secret lie in something called the Murakami orchid, a rare plant from the Murakam system. He delved deeper and found nothing, then the dimly lit confines of the Mortis Bio-Spire caught his attention, Darth Kentarch discovered a chamber distinct from the rest. Unlike the cold, gothic architecture that dominated the rest of the Spire, this room seemed almost surgical in its precision. It was illuminated by a soft, cerulean glow emanating from a holo-table at its center.

What do we have here?

Kentarch approached with cautious intrigue, his senses heightened. The table flickered to lie. As he drew nearer, the Sith Lord realized that he was beholding a detailed layout of the Spire itself. But this was no ordinary map—it was a comprehensive schematic of the various bio-weapons housed within. Carefully he activated it. With a sweep of his hand, the display reacted to his touch, revealing layers upon layers of information. Each weapon was marked with a symbol, corresponding to its nature and purpose. Some were familiar to the lore of the Sith—venomous serums capable of inducing madness, toxic gases that could slaughter entire cities, and viral strains designed to manipulate the very essence of the Force within living beings.

Yet, other symbols were enigmatic, hinting at weapons of such dark potency that even the ancient Sith might have hesitated to wield them. They bore names that whispered of forbidden rites and cataclysmic consequences. Kentarch was drawn closer as he read the inventory. One was ominously titled "Black Orchid."

He selected the file and carefully examined its location.

OBJECTIVE 3

With a quick movement, Raphael had started his way through the facility, movements quick in places where he felt no death, and slower and quieter where he felt the undead. He pulled out his defense slugthrower, firing through a zombie's head removing it from the playing field. As much anger and hatred as these undead carried, as much as they whispered about unleashing his emotions. Or maybe that was something else.... He couldn't tell. He was doing his best to avoid wherever he could feel Valery, yet he was pretty sure they were going to run into one another, eventually.

Everytime he passed by a window, he double checked. Just more undead in his way and, thankfully, his customized blaster made ranged exceptionally valid. Both pistols out, he looked around the corner, focusing his fear of death into a powerful tool of survival. As he moved around the corner, he suddenly hopped backwards, as a zombie lunged at him, that power of the dark side sharpening his senses. Then he fired the much quieter slugthrower into its head.

The labyrinthine structure confused him and he kept taking movements and turns to avoid Valery. He could feel her moving and she was heading in the same direction that he was. Perhaps... He dodged into a nearby alcove to hide from her and her team. They would probably just walk right on by. Headed towards the main server room and he could just avoid them. That was the hope, at least. He'd be in trouble, if she didn't.

The moment Alicio saw Alina's eyes flush with angry crimson, the Future became clear. There was no talking her down. No second chance today. Not that he would be the one able to break through to her. Greater people had tried and failed.

"Change can be a good thing, Lady Tremiru."

Alicio's legs tensed even before the vampire started moving, which was good, because if they hadn't, he would've been bisected then and there. Introspect activated in a flash of blue and black, and Alicio practically leapt a half-step out of the way, using his thin blade to guide Alina's slash past him. The blow rattled his shoulder, and furrowed his brow. He'd moved sooner, but she certainly moved faster.

Her second slash was much easier to avoid. The Force propelled Alicio as he ran a few steps up the nearest bookcase, her red blade catching the artifacts beneath. A stomping step launched the Count from his ascent. He spun midair, reaching out a clawing hand. A flock of books and scrolls dislodged from the top shelf, and shot at the pale Sith. A falling slash followed, as Alicio hoped to catch Alina off-guard.

"She gave you a chance to be free!"

Cord stood there for a few moments waiting for a reply, until someone emerged from the trees. She didn't immediately lower her arms, and let the person speak. Smirk under helmet at the being with a famine voice call her a witch. Perceptive, she thought to herself, not many would have called that outright must have seen her quiet chanting. Maybe she should have done it in her native tongue and really confused them, hindsight.

"What are you some kind of guard left by the sith that once ruled this place?" Cord not sure if what was behind her was human or something else. Even though she could tell where it was with her back do to the Magick she used to height her senses, she still couldn't feel it in the force it was like an empty nothing where it stood. It didn't have the same feeling as something undead and it was clearly more sentient than most undead would be. Then again it could be human or humanoid with something on them that obscured or dampened the force. So many thoughts were running through Cord's mind as she thought about how to deal with the situation.

Her eyes though remained forward looking towards the complex in front of her. "If there is death and undeath in there then it needs to be purged for the safety of others." Cord cared little for her own safety, she had put her life on the line so many times and hell even died a more then a couple. Cord then lowered her arms to her side and just started walking forward. She needed to end what ever was inside, she needed to face the monster with in. "Warning acknowledged; warning ignored declare me hostile." Cord had made up her mind and was already preparing to get shot in the back by whomever was behind her. Mentally preparing to make a force shield for when that shot came. "Be warned yourself, the first shot is free the ones that follow will cost you dearly."

"What are you some kind of guard left by the sith that once ruled this place?"

Lucia couldn’t tell if the witch’s words were an insult or a supposition. Regardless, while the gynoid was normally cold and detached, the comment struck a certain nerve in her emotion circuits. She did not serve the dead, nor was she anything resembling an undead. She served Darth Xyrah and Darth Carnifex—pure, perfect paragons of Sith dominance who had brought the Order to its greatest heights.

Unlike some others, she did not worship a dead God.

“I am Lucia Naberrie. Gynoid servant of Lord Xyrah and the Dark Lord Carnifex.” She said, with some amount of pride and annoyance in her melodiously synthetic tone. “I do not serve the dead, nor am I a guardian of their possessions. I come only to secure their secrets, so that they might serve a greater purpose.” The gynoid continued.

"If there is death and undeath in there then it needs to be purged for the safety of others."

“You will do no such thing, Alliance witch. Go no further.” Lucia replied. With that, there was a sudden, high-pitched whine as the gynoid’s blaster rifle was powered on to be primed to fire at any moment.

The gynoid at least had the courtesy to let the witch finish.

As soon as she did, Lucia opened fire from 35 meters away, sending off a rapid fire burst of three bolts in the span of a half-second. The first two bolts were aimed to strike the witch’s center mass, while the third was intended to strike her skull—a shot expedited by riding the upward kick of the weapon’s recoil. Simultaneously, the gynoid sprang into motion towards her left side, gliding just above the ground via her body’s integrated repulsors with a blistering speed and acceleration that would have dazzled an unenhanced human, in an effort to maneuver around any defense that the witch might project.

A near collision wasn't the best way to find someone else in places.

A hand thrown backwards as she steadied herself only to hear the sound of someone chastising her. Thrown for a loop by the blue blade as she pointed at him.

The sound of her speaking muffled at first behind the helmet until the annunciatior clicked on. "Pa thing. Oh. Alright, now-" Her hand giving a final slap to the chin guard before turning her attention back to him.

Recoiling at the sight of undead, thankfully being cut down.

"I'd say it isn't yours yet." Turmoil ignited as the other saber was clipped back to her belt, but the signatures on her HUD began to appear rather than dissappear.

A worrying sign.

The one in her way didn't seem entirely friendly, but she wasn't sure she liked the idea of fighting undead at the same time. Taking a gamble on her approach, she put both hands to her white Bladed saber, taking a force assisted step toward him with a twirling jab at his core to push him inside.

The white lightsaber waved awkwardly in the air as if unbalanced toward Marcus.

While she didn't intend to kill him, she wasn't sure she'd be offered the chance at a tour given how excitable he seemed. Especially with the growing number of potential enemies.

For all the grandeur of his arrival, he hadn't expected the Jedi to simply cower and bow at his presence. There was no doubt one could feel the tremendous pressure in the air combined alongside the inertial upheaval of falling from the sky. Over the blaring of an alarm, the flashing of emergency lights, flickering and atmosphere on par with a dying star - he felt resounding strength in the Jedi before him. They, together, had wrought courage from the teeth's of a God; and despite Empyrean's hatred of their kind, he could respect their attempt to face him.
The black gaze of Kami turned to Elias, his stalwart strength in the face of death was commendable. One after the other, Jedi Masters and Knights from the Outer Rim ignited their green, blue, and yellow sabers before him. There were two less now, but ten was still nothing to scoff at; even if he wasn't actually here. Kami, with tears still streaming down her face in contrast to the placid expression the Dead God forced upon her looked between them as his own saber hummed.
"Then you've signed your own death warrant."
In the same moment, the ship seemed to hit another bout of terrible turbulance, pushing from its path as the distance screams of the pilot tore through the alarms. Their shreak was a mix of annoyance and fear, swearing something about 'C'mon ol' girl', as she desperately tried to rip the yoke from the floor in an attempt to glide to safety. Empyrean wouldn't allow such a thing.
With a subtle press of Kami's finger, the ship began to barrel and twist towards the ground - throwing many of the Jedi off their footing for only a moment as the body of their friend slammed against a far wall with anything not secured following him. Kami rushed forward with her blade, striking at the Jedi most obviously unbalanced, lethal in his approach but slowed by this foreign body. Were he only here in person, the fight would have been long over - but he didn't want to appear as himself. The Jedi must think this is unrelated to the Order as a whole.
Kami's blue blade slapped against the raised blade of the Master, bouncing off with the inertia Empyrean had expected. It twisted into another strike, only to be countered, parried, and a slice going for Kami's own torso. He ducked the first strike, only for another Jedi to swing downwards in an attempt to take his head. A slight push of the force and the blade missed by an inch, shooting sparks and molten metal upwards into the face of the other Master he had struck at first.
He reeled for only a moment, brief as it was, and 'Kami' twisted to launch a hard kick from the ground towards his stomach. It landed amidst the sparks and launched him from his place on the ground - bouncing his head and shoulders against the ceiling of the freighter and sending him careening into the far wall. He likely wasn't dead, but the wound would hurt regardless. The second, however, would not be so fortunate.
Before another Jedi could interfere, Kami set her kicking foot down hard on the wrist of the Jedi who had come to her friends assistance. She cried out and let go of her saber, allowing Kami to twist and strike - seperating her head from her body with a simple but violent sweep of her blade. It sang as burnt flesh filled the air and the head of their friend now twisted through the freighter - alongside the remnants of blood that escaped before the cauterization broke through.
It had been enough of a display to force the others only a moment of hesitation - enough for Kami, with tears still streaming through her eyes, to launch towards Elias Edo Elias Edo in full. A strike for the heart backed by the full force of Kami's body straight and true like a spear flying through the air. It was but a split second of hesitation that would define if he lived or died in this moment; as the other Jedi collected themselves in the split of a second and moved to assist.

Cori shivered as she walked through the snow covered forest, tightening her grip around her fur trimmed coat which she was wearing over her normal outfit. Having grown up in the tropical waters of Aquilaris Minor, the Ersansyr wasn't accustomed to cold weather. But the crunch of ice underneath her feet was not what preoccupied her mind as she made her way to just outside the Mortis bio sphere.

Taking off her hood, Cori gazed at the structure before her, the one from her vision. This crumbling ruin held something dangerous, and she had foreseen a living shadow taking it, slipping ahead of the Jedi and finding it first. The evil she had felt in that vision had led her to wake up screaming, and once she had calmed down, she vowed to go to the icy world and help prevent another sith tragedy. Other Jedi came too, many more powerful than her who could better face the threat of danger, but Cori had always needed to see the outcome of her visions herself. And now she was here, standing in front of the very building that had she had seen before only in her nightmares.

Looking around for an entrance, Cori paused as she sensed violence not too far away from her. Quickly, the Jedi knight ran towards the noise, drawing her lightwhips as she did. Drawing nearer, she spotted a cyborg or robot of some kind fighting a human woman. Neither's allegiance was immediately obvious, however the one with the blaster was clearly the antagoniser. Drawing on her former master's wisdom, she made a snap decision - disarm the aggressor and find common ground between the two enemies. Better yet, find out which one is on her side.

Hence, Cori ran up behind the woman in the green cloak and force lept over her, backflipping in the air while attempting to use her whips to rip the blaster out of the gynoid's hands. Landing, she remained crouching in a form four stance, ready to leap up again at any moment, Cori asked: "Can we be civil? I am a jedi, a peacekeeper. Are either of you the same, or at least allied with the Galactic Alliance?"

Lily had been prepped for the mission, it was to investigate some ancient Sith lab where a horde of dangerous Sithspawn still lurked. It was something that she wasn't keen on exploring but the duty of the Jedi was to protect others. If left unchecked these demonic creatures could do who knows what to innocent civilians. So, Lily put on a brave face and confronted the mission with everything she had.

With her Lightsaber in hand, Lily wandered forward, she was separated from others on the mission, chosen to take a path alone since it would cover more ground. The threat of Sith being around any corner was ever looming. It had been heavily stressed that the Sith knew the Galactic Alliance was coming and they were attempting to find whatever they could and potentially continue these dangerous experiments.

Lily refused to allow that to happen.

She was being cautious, while she was physically alone, she knew others were not far from where she was. And she would seek out their help if things got out of hand. Though how quickly they would come to her aid, she would not know. But Lily was determined to demonstrate she was an asset and not some damsel, so she pushed herself into riskier situations in order to demonstrate where her skills were most useful.

She was a fighter and she would fight.

ODACER-FAUSTIN, ESSTRAN SECTOR, OUTER RIM TERRITORIES

The past week with Allyson hasn’t been the easiest. The Jedi Shadow isn’t exactly the friendliest person. One thing I can attest to, however, is that she is that damn good and precise at what she does. Everything was planned to the teeth, mitigation plans were made, and I was subjected through vigorous training to make sure that I’m fully prepared for the mission. It’s 100% justified in my opinion, we are going to an ancient Sith structure, and there’s an almost certain likelihood that Sith of higher rankings are going to touch down on the planet and approach the very same structure we were sent to, and there is a risk of engagement if we are not being extra careful and if we spent too much time rummaging around. Allyson has by far the most experience of infiltrating anything dark side, and it’s only logical that she takes every precaution needed in approaching this mission.

That’s why it didn’t surprise me at all that she was very pissed at the abrupt addition of another Shadow-in-training, and the subsequent blunder that the Cathar made. Jonyna Si, I’ve heard of that name, a cryo-baby Jedi from a bygone age. A recent addition to the New Jedi Order. That’s about what I know of her, and I can’t lie that it makes me worry a bit not knowing and not having the time to research a supposed partner I’m having to work with, or alongside, at the very least. I can’t help but give Allyson a sympathetic look as she scolded Jonyna over the comms, and if I know her correctly, she’ll either be unaware of my changing facial features, or be annoyed at it.

Reaching back, Allyson slapped a device into Aymeric's hand. "Not as good as a force cloak, but it will keep you hidden well enough."

I nodded my thanks at Allyson and picked up the device. If I have learned anything from spending a week with THE Shadow, it’s that less is more and silence is appreciated. I was a quick learner in this regard, and it’s not like that I’m a talkative guy after all. Especially when I’m with another awkward individual. The device itself looks interesting. I’ve been practicing force cloak for the past months on my own, and Master Valery had promised me an intensive session to accelerate my growth in that regard. For now, this device would work adequately. Besides, if there is something I’m good at, it’s using technologies to enhance force abilities. Perhaps, I could dissect this cloaking tech further after this mission, and adapt it to my needs.

Following behind Allyson, I glided through the snowy terrain with the cloaking device on, sneaking behind inattentive dark siders, amongst them acolytes and cultists. Without any signal, Allyson drew from the force to shoot a golden arrow of light to catch a dark sider off-guard. Of course, this has been the plan from the start, to start picking off unsuspecting dark sider. It’s just, I find the way she operates fascinating. So cold and efficient. I guess years fighting behind the enemy line forces you to be like that. At the sight of another one in proximity, I threw my dagger through the back of his head, using the force to pull it back through his chest, while also slowing down the impact of his collapsing body, making sure that no one hears it.

Objective 3
Evor Evor
Resh was already regretting that he ever came on this mission. He had built it up in his mind that he was ready to serve on the field. He wanted to; The Jedi had given him a second chance at life, and now he wanted to repay the favor.

But he wasn't ready. And deep down, he knew that he wasn't. Least of all for something like this. The Pureblood was assigned to a cadre of Alliance troopers, and a Jedi master leading the charge. After just one engagement with the undead locals, and Resh had been separated. He took off in fear, and by the time he'd escape his pursuers, the squad was out of his sight. He tried to focus on the presence of the Jedi master, but it was drowned out by the darkness.

A darkness that now threatened to drown him. Its presence was choking, gnawing at his malleable mind to be let back in. Resh fought against it, but could do little more than lock himself away in the shadows, and pray that his allies find him. Wait, The padawan thought, the commlink.

Of course! This would be his saving grace. What a fool he had been. Rescue was merely a call away. So long as nothing else intruded upon—

Foosteps neared. Resh silently cursed his misfortune, still clutching the communicator in his hand as he slinked further back into his hiding spot: a claustrophobic crevice, mostly filled with old pipes and wires that helped obscure his silhouette. Troopers walked past, but not his. These were Sith. They had to be. The boy held his breath, knowing a single mistake could be his last…

"Let's hope, for his sake, that he decides to join us soon," Valery commented after turning her gaze away from Todblaz Graker Todblaz Graker . She doubted that he had the intel about what was hiding within this facility, and he certainly didn't have her senses. Any wrong step in there and it would be his last. So, given the fact that she felt no hostile intent from him, she wouldn't be opposed to him joining her and the soldiers.

She wasn't going to allow someone to lose their life for no reason at all.

"A long time ago, a Sith experiment on this planet went horribly wrong, and an academy full of Sith acolytes was largely turned into undead creatures. It seems that someone has decided to repeat history here," Valery explained awfully calmly, considering the evil she was describing. A blaster bolt to the chest could take down most people, but these undead would hardly be phased. They'd have to aim for the head, or target the legs so they couldn't walk again.

Up ahead, Valery soon spotted the junction as well, and her senses once more alerted her to danger "Stop," she said as she walked forward to a closed blast door. "Do not open or breach this one." Instead, she turned right and continued to walk deeper into the facility.

"It's hard for me to know exactly how many of them are in there. They stick close together, and the Dark Side clouds senses. But the stronger the feeling, the worse it'll be." She paused and looked at Makani, "I feel a small group up ahead that we can't go around. I suggest you and the others move up and take them down."

"But be careful. I have a feeling that the first shot will alert this entire facility to our presence."

Fear.

Raw and unfettered he could sense it nearby, a stain upon his mind and mission. It was intoxicating just how palpable it felt to him. But there was a chill to it as well, it was out of place more than anything. The Knights and Lords that scoured the planet would not allow such thoughts to fester in their minds, or the minds of their men. Not unless something truly horrific and formidable already had them on the defensive so early into the campaign. The chances of that being the case were unlikely, but he figured it would be best to tread carefully.

He held up his hand and closed it into a fist, quickly pointing to a nearby dilapidated wall. The crew behind him quickly rushed to the small, crumbling wall, holding a defensive position. Evor himself paused for a moment, reaching his mound outwards to find the source of the fear. His brow furrowed, his face slowly turning into a hateful sneer. There was not something here, but rather someone. Someone trained in the force, though even less honed and guided than he. He sensed nobody else nearby, did he luck upon a lost Jedi? Once more he looked toward his men, raising his wrist to his lips, speaking in a hushed tone.

“Clear the vicinity and set up a perimeter. Nobody gets through without a fight. I’ll deal with our visitor.”

Not missing a beat his men cleared off, some heading deeper into the winding maze and others backtracking to make sure nobody snuck up on them from where they came. Evor stepped forward into a somewhat larger, circular room. Nature had reclaimed much of it, vines encroaching down every wall and rubble littering the floor. About 20 feet or so up the walls there was a catwalk that encircled the room, though most of it had collapsed to the floor below. Slowly he paced toward the center of the room, unclipping his lightsaber from his belt and letting the familiar hum fill the room.

“Come out, come out little rabbit. Nobody is coming to save you,” he called out with a sneer. “Do not be afraid, death comes for us all.”

Indeed, the Dark Side clouds the senses - to even attempt to pervert the power of the Force in such a repugnant way was depraved to the core. Thinking about it any further may have led to a dangerous lapse in concentration, had it not been for Valery's abrupt warning. Makani stopped and nodded in affirmation, keeping his light aimed down the passage to their right into the uncertain darkness. The appearance of another, a third, then four more torch beams gave him some comfort. The squad moved efficiently, constantly scanning the uneven walls; lights were fixed on every doorway, vent and panel until they had progressed past it, just in case someone or something had the bright idea to make a surprise entry. One trooper stopped dead, shining their light up and down a small alcove, convinced they'd seen someone there for a split second. Hesitantly, they moved on as to not be left behind.

"Weapons tight - not a shot until I give the order." From the middle of the pack, the squad leader brought up a free hand to direct her troops, speaking in hushed tones with the knowledge that hostile contact was just up ahead. "You two stay on rearguard. The rest of you, keep low and take up firing positions at the end of this hallway." Makani noted her rifle was a little shorter than the others, though the power pack was much larger, implying it was some type of automatic carbine. That seemed a bit odd when she then said, "I want accurate and disciplined fire, just like you're back on the firing range. We don't have time to miss."

The Jedi's warnings had given him pause up until now, but the last few moments had been subtly rousing. Makani kept pace with Valery for a few more tense seconds, as the pathway seemed to emerge out into a wider room just ahead. It was eerily quiet in this place - as she said, the sound a single shot in here felt like it would travel for miles. Before pacing ahead to make good on that advice, he returned her look. "I'll try to make it count."

Makani was first to emerge from the doorway, immediately seeking cover behind a low wall. It was a thick slab of obsidian that protruded from the ground and was smoothed on all sides that was to Makani, much like every other object in the room, simple in design yet unknowable in its purpose. There was something across the room, farther than his torch could hope to reach, illuminated instead by trails of sunlight that bled through a handful of tiny cracks in the ceiling. So too did they bring the snow, and the whistling wind that broke the stony silence. The undead seemed unfazed by the light and the cold. They hobbled aimlessly from wall to wall, some still clad in the tattered remains of their acolyte garb - but that did little to disguise their disgusting, unnatural anatomy.

The squad fanned out, guns up, picking out their targets through the gloom. The foot of one trooper crunched under a bunch of brittle, dead leaves, where nature had tried to reclaim this place. Even nature had failed. They all bated their breath, fingers coiled steadily around their triggers as they waited for the order, staying still even as the sithspawn leered over to their side of the room, shambling toward the source of the noise. There'd be no getting out of this one quietly.

"Enga-"

The squad leader didn't have time to finish the order before her voice was overpowered by the fire from dozen blasters. The sound echoed with alarming intensity, funnelled down every adjoining passageway, more so when the squad continued to fire. Those spawn who still stood were flung into a frenzy, charging headlong into the firing line. Some took blows to the head and fell in an instant, others cut apart piece by piece by searing bolts of energy. Before the last body fell, the squad lead sprinted ahead. "Weapons free from here. Everyone's hostile unless the Jedi says otherwise. Now move!" Makani held back for a second, making sure that Valery was keeping pace, while the other troopers were hot on the lead's heels advancing down the next hallway.

Though brief, it would be safe to assume everyone in the tower would have heard the blaster fire - including the sithspawn. They knew they were not alone, and they definitely weren't happy about it.
