- City Name: Mirai Jar'Kai
- Classification: Metropolis
- Location: Atrisia codex Atrisia wookiee
- Affiliation: Atrisian Commonwealth
- Population: Heavy
- Demographics:
- Wealth: Wealthy: The city's wealth is rooted in a robust, decentralized economic model centered around self-sufficiency and trade. With much of their goods being divided into three main areas, for the home, for the government and city and for trade.
- Economic Infrastructure: The living units and resource production areas themselves form the backbone of the economy, designed with a decentralized shop system. Residents are empowered to cultivate their own food and craft goods. This forms a hyperlocal trade network where citizens sell their diverse produce and wares directly to one another.
- Interstellar Commerce and Hub Status: The city has the Anshin MK II and Breakwater as a major interstellar trade hubs. Its strong reputation attracts offworlders primarily seeking Atrisian technology and specialized foodstuffs. Goods are also routinely shipped to other worlds. This outward flow of trade is incentivized by a unique stipend system: residents whose goods are sold off-world receive a portion of the sales as reimbursement, directly linking individual effort to planetary prosperity.
- Foundational Philosophy and Prosperity: A core tenet of the city's philosophy is an emphasis on meritocracy and hard work, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to rise and attain wealth through their efforts. This commitment to equitable opportunity and reward has fostered a stronger, resilient infrastructure and cemented the city's superior economic standing within the sector.
- Stability: High: The city's stability is not accidental; it's the result of a massive, coordinated reconstruction and security overhaul initiated following the multiple attacks on Jar'Kai and the planet itself.
- Infrastructure and Self-Reliance: A comprehensive reconstruction phase has fundamentally reshaped the city's physical and energy stability. The new advanced living modules are the core of this system, functioning as self-sustaining homes. Crucially, these modules contribute surplus power to the city grid, establishing a distributed and resilient power source that minimizes vulnerability to centralized attacks. This design ensures that every living unit actively contributes to the city's foundational strength.
- Governance and Social Order: The stability is buttressed by the carefully managed rule of the Empress and Emperor through the cities Sansin. Their approach is one of support without overreach, providing the means for prosperity rather than micromanaging it.
- The social structure, while tiered, is unified under a protective umbrella:
- Economic Uplift: Support begins at the very bottom, empowering the lowest-living citizens those who sell their homegrown food to rise up.
- Unified Protection: From the food vendors to the Lords and Ladies who host lavish parties in the High City, all citizens benefit from a visible and active security presence. A mixed force of specialized Police Patrols and Citizenry Soldiers ensures that all streets are safe and that criminal elements are swiftly deterred, allowing even the elite to move freely.
- Defense and Security Reforms: The lessons learned from the many attacks on Jar'kai spurred critical military and security reforms that closed previous security gaps.
- Universal Military Mandate: A key pillar of security is the Universal Enlistment policy, which mandates that every citizen is disciplined, trained, and listed as either Active Military or in the Reserve Corps. This rapid mobilization capability ensures a large, trained defense force is always available.
- Biometric Reinforcement: The city employs advanced security measures, including stringent reinforcement of Biometric Security Protocols. This system is specifically designed to isolate and restrict offworld visitors from sensitive or strategic locations, maintaining a high level of internal security and preventing foreign infiltration or sabotage.
- Advanced Control and Terraforming Controlled via Advanced Terraforming station/towers such as Builders Seeds, Sasori Modular Production Facilities, Junjita and Kalantas towers.
- Freedom & Oppression: The city operates in a state of High Economic Liberty facilitated by its post-scarcity reforms, which ironically forms the strongest check against widespread social unrest. The Emperor and Empresses works to make their people happy and able to prosper is done and implemented well.
- Economic Freedom and Motivation: The core of the city's freedom is its post-scarcity economy. The foundational reforms ensure that basic needs are universally met, eliminating poverty and the primary economic drivers of rebellion. Clans and Houses are able to expand, improve their standing and rise upwards.
- Voluntary Labor: Citizens work purely from desire and ambition, rather than necessity. This allows people to engage in specialized crafts, trade, and production selling goods and producing as much as they want without the fear of destitution. These changes have produced some of their brightest minds and talented engineers creating many of the wonders that continue to fuel their growth.
- Leisure-Centric Design: A significant portion of urban planning is dedicated to facilitating leisure and self-actualization, offering diverse activities and environments to encourage a high quality of life. Continually improving their skills as they are able to rise up through the military or government.
- Social Liberty and Political Dissent: The city maintains a stance of unrestricted political freedom, allowing for dissent and organized protests of policy.
- Guaranteed Rights: The right to assembly and voice opposition is constitutionally protected, ensuring the government cannot be accused of tyrannical suppression. The Emperor welcomes it as a means to see where they can improve over viewing it as people being ungrateful.
- The "Prosperity Barrier": While dissent is permitted, it is psychologically difficult to mobilize a large-scale movement. After enduring numerous attacks and realizing their current state of widespread stability and prosperity, the populace is deeply reluctant to support actions that might threaten their hard-earned quality of life. The general contentment serves better then any heavy handed force.
- The Nuance of Control: This system represents a sophisticated governance model where freedom is maximized in areas that promote productivity (economy/trade/art) and dissent is tolerated but naturally marginalized by the very success of the government's policies. The people are free, but they are generally too content to challenge the status quo.
- Description: Jar'kai is an ancient, resurrected city, having been destroyed and rebuilt "a thousand and one times."This history has culminated in a design that is both a majestic monument and an impregnable fortress.
- Location and Outer Defenses: The city occupies a commanding, naturally defensible position:
- Mountain Spire: The main city is built atop a massive mountain spire with a sheer, three-kilometer drop down to the surrounding plains. The mountain itself has been deliberately honed and cut to present steep, unscalable sides. With its own walls even high while the interior of the mountain is a series of levels dedicated to resource and housing. Making waterways that can be traveled as well as advanced recycling and sewer systems.
- The No-Man's Land: The flat area surrounding the mountain is a heavily fortified "no-man's land." This zone is saturated with defensive towers, military carriers, vehicles and sensors, creating an automated kill zone designed to break up and dismantle any large-scale invading force before it reaches the mountain base.
- Dual-City Structure: The city is physically divided into two halves, with a Vaulted Bridge lined with defensive turrets. This bridge is a choke point, equipped with swiveling turret alcoves that can either protect the main city section from approach or be used to contain and lock down an invading force that has already breached the first half. Below it are smaller bridges thaat are enclosed for tram and smart roads allowing faster travel and shielded like the rest of the city.
- Architecture and Defensive Materials: The design successfully merges deep tradition with cutting-edge defensive technology:
- Layered Design: The city follows a massive, layered design, beginning with its massive gates and ascending into various districts throughout the expansion district that house millions of Commonwealth citizens. Carved waterways allowing boats and fisheries. The smart system with underground rroads, bunkers and facilities building a city under the city and into the kazue stone mountain itself.
- Kazue Stone Construction: Streets, buildings, walls are carved from Kazue stone, a strong material that forms the city's structure. This stone is inherently resilient, able to withstand volleys of orbital bombardment. WIth improvement it is able to repair itself at the walls to maintain itself.
- Self-Repairing Defenses: To counter degradation, new defensive measures have been installed, including an advanced material that spreads along and coats cracks and gaps, enabling rapid self-repair and reinforcement after an attack.
- Traditional Facades, Advanced Interiors: Buildings maintain a traditional aesthetic on the exterior, preserving the city's historical character. However, their interiors have been completely outfitted with advanced, modern technology. The areas below the city aare dedicated to growth as food, water, supplies for an attack are stored, cultivated and kept. Smart roads allowing travel on incredibly fast trains without impediment.
- Shielding: Designed as a multi-layered, multi-redundant system. There are many stations, generators and projectors around the city, on the walls and along the spire but the planetary shield that is projected is designed to be projected from many giving it a design similar to Mon-Calamari shielding with multi-layered shielding that can withstand overt attack.
- Infrastructure and Layout: Jar'kai's internal design prioritizes redundant power and efficient transport:
- Cathedral-Like Design: The primary city area is the main area on top of the kazue stone mountain spire, designed like a vast cathedral with the central mega block apartments of the Spire. The exterior and visible parts of the city's surface are dedicated to shops and commerce, maximizing the aesthetic appeal and economic visibility.
- Near-Impossible Power Loss: The power grid features dozens of redundancies across the two city halves, supplemented by backup stations strategically located in the no-man's land, within the fortified walls, in surrounding villages, and in subterranean facilities. This distributed and layered power structure makes a total power loss "almost impossible."
- Gentoku Rail System: An armored track runs along the exterior of the city for the Gentoku Train System. This dedicated line ensures the rapid, protected transport of supplies and soldiers throughout the city and its defensive perimeter. Yuma trains being built along as a means to have even faster transport and the smart system honeycomb developed allows movement throughout the city itself.
- Assembly: The central, city-wide aid system responsible for managing and maintaining the entire urban infrastructure.
- Infrastructure Management: Its primary role is to run the complex systems that sustain life in the city, including power distribution, environmental controls, logistics, and resource allocation. It ensures the seamless operation of the layered architecture and redundant power grids.
- The Control Shackles: Crucially, the Assembly is deliberately shackled and prevented from ever achieving full control. This fundamental, hardwired limitation ensures that ultimate authority and decision-making always remain with the human leadership, preserving a balance between advanced automation and governance.
- Specialized Defensive AI: In response to the series of devastating attacks the city has endured, a newer, specialized cohort of defensive AIs has been developed to work alongside the Assembly. These AIs are designed to further automate and reinforce the city's security:
- Predictive Analysis: These AIs constantly process vast streams of data from the No-Man's Land sensors and biometric checks to provide predictive security assessments, identifying and neutralizing potential threats before they materialize.
- Automated Defense: They directly automate and control many of the city's offensive and defensive means from managing the turrets to operating the defensive towers in the plains. Alerting of warbeast and siege engine use at the city or most importantly dangerous elements detected that the smart towers and clouds are working to neutralize.
- Force Multiplier: By automating complex defense protocols, these systems act as a major force multiplier, freeing up citizens and soldiers to focus on strategic execution while the AI handles rapid, precise reinforcement and maintenance during an attack.
- Location and Outer Defenses: The city occupies a commanding, naturally defensible position:
- Tomb of the Emperors: The Tomb of the Emperors does not simply hold the dead; it is a fortress built for eternity, designed to proclaim the glory of the Atrisian lines for all time. The entrance is a massive, sheer archway carved from a single piece of black kazue stone, worn smooth by centuries of wind and ritual. The air within is cool, dry, and carries the scent of ancient stone, powdered incense, and cold metal. The singular entrance to it makes it a place forr a final stand in a fight or an elaborate trap where those retreating within can be entombed.
- Gardens and Tombs of the Empresses: Where the Emperor's Tomb is a fortress, the Empress's Tomb is a sanctuary, woven into the very fabric of the city's life. It is entered through the Imperial Gardens, a place of curated wildness where weeping willows brush still ponds and night-blooming flowers perfume the air. The entrance itself is a graceful, circular moon gate, overgrown with silver-leafed ivy that seems to have been trained, not planted.
- The Spire: Preceived capital of the city by most with the massive central tower the Spire is not merely a building; it is a vertical nation, a self-sufficient arcology, and the absolute seat of power for the Sansin. It is the first and last thing any visitor sees a gleaming spear aimed at the heavens, its roots plunged deep into the mountain.
- Theater House: The Theater House is a masterpiece of classical Atrisian design, built from luminous, white-veined marble that seems to capture and hold the moonlight. It is a vast, circular structure, open to the sky, allowing the constellations to form a natural canopy for its performances. Tier upon tier of seating, inlaid with precious woods and cushioned with deep velvet, rise in a perfect acoustic curve around the central stage.
- The Honeycomb: Designed as a series of streets, multi-leveled and housing the buildings, estates, embassies, shops and eateries of the main city districts. With defensive designs in mind, waterways and improvements that they are able to use. Redundencies layered for shielding, power and defensive networks.
- The Expansion Districts: Built across the great bridge and integrated with the mountain range, these districts are a testament to the Atrisian philosophy that functionality, defense, and art are one and the same. They are pristine, orderly, and purpose-built wards that enhance the whole, serving as the city's vibrant connection to the wider world and the foundation of its enduring post-scarcity.
- Kāi-Yùn: City Walls of Jar'kai: Adjusted, rebuilt and designed as a final layer. The mountain spires wall is sleek in its design with kazue stone like the rest of the city. Defensive platforms aand a number fo their newest countermeasures that have been designed to create constantly shifting redundencies. The massive drop from the walls to no-mans land below is a primary defense.
- Lóngkou: Great Wall of Jar'kai: The original great wall built by Shoma and the first order, it surrounds Jar'kais main city and is massive still with new defensive turrets, refined power systems and containment shielding for breeches. Newer counter measures have been developed along the wall itself as it is the first line of defense outside of the city walls and has tracks for armored trains for defensive purposes but it no longer the sole defensive point.
- Qū-Fēng: Second Wall of Jar'kai: The second wall that encloses the majority of towns, villages and districts creating sectional areas of defensive shielding. control devices for arborne attacks and helicarrier sections that allow the overhead airships to dock picking up more soldiers and fighters.
- Jìng-Mài: Third Wall of Jar'kai: The final wall spreading out from the city and first that is encountered... the third wall is one fo the most protected with additional turrets, the coordinating fire can be done and in the space between the second and third wall there is flatter more controlled areas dedicated to military facilities and defenses that make advancing forces take heavy casualities.
- Bōei Kyōdan: Atrisian Garrison-Community: Designed and rebuilt, the towns and villages that fell within the areas of the walls were given their own protective walls and military facilities. Creating smaller installations and strongholds that allow the citizens to have protected areas for their own use. Each providing additonal back ups, redundencies and means to deploy or hold out against larger forces.
- Hospital/Healing Temple: A hospital their cutting-edge technology and the power of the Light Side of the Force blend with jedi healers. The continued advancement has seen standardized Bio-Nanite Immunization Network, Stardust Medical System, Medical Pulse Generator.
- AI Network: Designed in Jar'kai and across Atrisia to provide a comprehensive suite of defensive, offensive and utility AI's that are within the cities from decentralized cores. Project "Silent Hydra", Atrisian Assembly, Quantum Analysis Computer, Project "Oracle", The MIYOUNG Intelligence Nexus, Smart City Resilience Network.
- Hypergate Enclave Network: Designed as a series of hypergates connected to embassies both on the plaanet and offworld for different groups. After their aid they were given a district allowing diplomatic talks to be fostered with Advanced Living Pods being used for the design.
- Exploration Factility Station: Designed as an advanced tourist and training facility allowing soldiers, mercenaries and citizens to practice for prizes and prestigue.
- Atrisian Transportation Network: Redundancy system with the far-caster allowing rapid movement around the planet itself. Ensuring that they are able tog et from city to city via many different means.
- Royal Academy of Arts: Improved and welcoming, the academy functions as one of the historical landmarks on Atrisia providing much for study as well as a means to bring in people interrested.
- Rare Books Department: A massive facility dedicated to preserving, copying, attaining and distributing knowledge not just from Atrisia or the Commonwealth but from across the galaxy itself. Giving them a knowledge base to rival the Great Library of Manuals on Ta Hasa itself the Grees galactic knowledge base.
- Imperial Historical Library: A massive library dedicated to Atrisian and galactic history. To teach and inform but also able to work with families to trace their bloodlines back to the ancient Atrisians within Chitai itself.
- Crown and Spears Hall: A sophisticated trade HUB designed to house and facilitate deals. With some of the finest in terms of offworld facilities for foreign shops and elements.
- Connection Bridge: Adding to much of Atrisia and used to connect the two halves of the city. The massive bridge is a feat of engineering that has stood at the city since the foundation of the Sarnoi and the oldest emperors. Now constantly upgraded with improved defenses and systems to make it as much a part of Jar'kai's defensive grid as anything else.
- Kōyō Jar'kai: The nexus that Zanza sacrificed herself to cleanse of the darkside and now baths Jar'kai in a lightside aura that makes darksiders in the city uneasy. It isn't known ifit will be permanent as it is still new, still raw compared to many in the galaxy but it extends to the great wall which was used to form the wall of light and enclose the city.
- Unbreachable Layered Defense: The city is protected by the Tri-Wall System three concentric, progressively larger defensive barriers. Each wall is a self-contained fortress with integrated anti-siege weaponry, creating a kill zone that must be overcome not once, but three times. This is augmented by a Sectional Planetary Shield Network, where overlapping shield generators ensure that the failure of a single section does not compromise the entire city.
- Integrated and Overwhelming Firepower: Defensive capabilities are networked into a single, AI-assisted combat system. Coordinated Fire from wall-mounted cannons, aerial carriers, war droid patrols, and orbital platforms can be brought to bear on any threat with instantaneous and devastating precision, creating a volume of fire that can engage countless targets across the entire city and its airspace simultaneously.
- Strategic and Structural Resilience: The city's foundation, built with Kazue Stone, provides unparalleled structural integrity, allowing it to withstand catastrophic impacts that would level conventional metropolises. Furthermore, the extensive Undercity tunnel network and the self-sufficient Expansion Districts allow for strategic mobility, logistical continuity, and localized command, making a successful siege or decapitation strike functionally impossible.

The history of Jar'kai goes far back since before the unification wars... longer with some of the warlords who started it out as a small village where they based their raids. The village gre into a town and eventually a city with the discovery of a kazue stone quarry that they could mine. They used it to create the intiial buildings and when the Jade Empress came to the city her siege of it laid waste to almost everything. The stone survived and it was made the seat of power for at least her operations as the planet itself was being united.... but it goes back further then that... history is often forgotten and save Chitai's lost lore there is not much known about what came before.
The people of Chitai have recorded tales of finding ruins of the city, the stone had brought them there and when they got closer they discovered ruined buildings that overlooking the quarries... riches flowed from the mines in the nearby mountains... creatures came and roamed the area but there was more things there... dangerous things after the calamity... several followed it as things fell from the sky. One massive thing towards he north (which sank ezogashima into the sea) and to the south (severing Ukiyo's bridge from the mainland disconnecting it and smaller debris to the east (forming the white pearl) and from it they went back into the underground.
Before that they were uncertain... the ancient Atrisians created structures like the shadow towers and Sarnoi.. the massive overgrown ruins of Ukiyo and Shikoku which was cast into permanent winter. The first civilizations of Atrisia were largely lost to legends and myths with their ruins and artifacts remaining behind and the oldest gods being seen still but old gods have new jobs. Still the records show the rins had served as a mining outpost.. the massive amounts of stone located around it were deposited deep and precious gemstones, metals were around. After the Atrisians of Chitai disappeared deep within the earth it was left abandoned.
It was found thousands of years later and turned into a village and later a town with high walls by the warlords. A longhouse to have their soldiers and farms that were outside and along the border of it to supply the village... eventually being taken over and joining the Jade empress as the mines and quarry was the most important part of it. They could harvest the kazue stone to make new structures across her empire and the town became one of the most important locations due to its massive supply of stone. The workers handling and shaping it before it was shipped out on massive carts drawn by Longma and matenga.
They took to mining the stone for centuries and eventually there was a large island created that they created. The town itself needed to expand and they were creating sections of it on this island with a large bridge. Across the way a grand palace was created allowing the emperor at the time to have a seat of power. All major roads were meant to end here at the city while Xam'chi was the closest i terms of location and region... they could see the mountain range in the distance. The higher walls of the palace district became a bastion of the rich lords while the original town was changed into a sprawling city that was walls off and ready.
The city continued to thrivve under he different emperors with tribute flowing and as the quarry continued to produce they could create more structures with eventually the lower it go and the further out the more defensible they created it with a massive moat that went into sections of the desert. It continued to expand outwards over thousands of years and the cit grew. Then the Republic fell and larely Atrisia remained intact with their avoidance of participating with the Galactic empire then later the new Republic until they had to with the yong wars. They continued to largely remain isolated trading with the rest of the galaxy.
The onset of the gulag plague saw he city ravaged like the rest of the planet... food shortages, rationing and riots were more commonplace but the people worked and tried to endure until something could be found that functioned like a cure or alternative to help them survive. The galactic dark age saw them struggling to rebuild and many things becoming important. Atrisian high technology that could be used as a central means to buy supplies, more to help improve lives and do the work of those who had died in the plague. Atrisia recovered slowly but it was a massive effort and Jar'kai stood tall as emperors like Akio and his sister came bringing in a new age of industry and purpose.
The Kihoshi line served Atrisia well and brought it back into being an empire that expanded... gathering allies and resources from other worlds which allowed it to rebuild itself and then some. The fall of the emperor and his death as well as the death of his sister led to a small power struggle but the new emperor brought back the people and recalled what could be done as they were absorbed into the Lords of the Fringe. After the CIS rained fire down from the skies the people of Jar'kai worked even harder mining more of the kazue stone and working to improve everything that they could. The city needed to prepare as they were part of the galactic scene once again.
The attention brought the one sith and mythos one of the figures in the city who is the hero of his own tale. In truth as he subjugated Atrisia he killed millions, forced others into servitude to his ego and destroyed much of their economy, education systems and medical care to remake it in his image which took their military and navy away from the world when he left the first time after declaring himself emperor. The people tried to recover but it was much harder the resistance movements struggling to repair some fo the damage and with less things for their own they started to rely on aid from other companies. Jar'kai mined as much as it could for stones and jewels.
They managed to restore much before Mythos returned again proclaiming himself emperor and using them as slave labor to bild statues to his greatness.. The people he took were dead and gone, the ships destroyed. Their industrial works used to churn out more ships even though they didn't have the numbers to sustain or man the ships. The fleet was being taken and they managed to hide just one ship. The Dragon's fang would lead what resistance forces they had as the people rose up to try and overthrow with a longer war coming to them and Jar'kai burned in many places... a force storm being unleashed as Mythos would not give up his seat of power easily.
The force storms ravaged the city destroying many fo the structures that were not made from Kazue stone and killing large swaths of the population. Fang Min managing to escape with children into the mountains and finding the Agora, others from their police forces working to get people evacuated as the darkside became a nexus on the world. There was dangerous things within it and there was even more as Shoma worked with the first order to contain it while Mythos returned again to try and exploit it. The people repelling him as no one wanted him and the recovery worked to function and rebuild other cities that were filled with refugees.
Jar'kai would be cleansed and purged severasl times, whenever a new group of jedi came to the world and largely continued to be ignored. The people didn't matter as much as coming to claim power and eventually Zanza managed to do it... creating a massive wall of light when mythos returned for the ninth time to the planet itself trying to lay claim to it. She sacrificed herself to create the wall and puriofy the city creating a new force nexus that radiated the lightside of the force itself and brought many of the lightsiders back to the world as well as creating the strange moss that grew across the world and nourished Atrisia's people in their recovery efforts.
The Jishi era of Atrisia is what really brought Jar'kai back after Zanza saved the city and made it so darksiders within or near it wouldn't be able to stay there. The people were rebuilding and with the Anshin, their industrialization of the moons and improvements to technolog it was ble to become something more with highly advanced defenses... wards and more security forces. The palace was there and remade but it was governed by one of the Sansin while the royal family moved between the different palaces across the planet while a new Imperial city was being built for them. Jar'kai started to thrive again as its three massive walls were raised and shielding put in place.
The military presence in the city was moved to cover the walls and districts.. the city rebuilt in many places and the mines continued to be mined. The improved technology turning the hospital into a temple of healing as a hybrid that utilized the new nexus of the city. The tombs of the emperor and empress, the wards and districts that were made for entertainment, opera and even embassies able to house some of the closest Atrisian allies. The roads were improved so that is could connect once again to all of the major cities and its airfield for the airships as opposed to the closed down spaceport. Jar'kai has had a bright future thanks to the indomitable spirit of the Atrisian people.
The continued efforts of the city, the people and emperor has seen much more of the city. As technologic advances allow them to make their power systems more powerful and smaller. They aare able to have several dozen around the city on each level. Coordinating and maade so each one could power the planet with its output and it is designated into the systems allowing them to function, store back ups and improve with overrcharrge as needed. The reforms for the military have had almst twenty years to improve and take hold allowing for generational training of the soldiers and citizens. With implants for durability, advanced weapons and equipment. A household becomes more a fireteam able to defend.
