Velmor

Stomp.
Stomp.
Stomp.
The walker strode freely down the boulevard of Den Velmor, the capital city of the Mid Rim world of Velmor. Its single captivator arm swung around to smash through the roof of a nearby building, the sounds of terrified screaming bursting free as the arm retracted with a person clutched between its mechanical digits. The walker turned and moved away from the building as several squads of Imperial Legionnaires rushed up and began laying down thick streams of flame into the building's windows and doorway, setting the structure alight and all who remained within. Identical assaults were being conducted all over the city, the sounds of death and violence reaching a fevered pitch as the hours waned into gloomy twilight.
Darth Thuyrn watched the destruction unfold with impassivity, his attention focused more on the datapad detailing the collection of Velmorian youth by the Imperial Legion. The Empire routinely replenished its manpower through operations such as these, collecting the youth of neutral systems and training them to be loyal Imperial soldiers. Velmor was one of the closer neutral systems to be targeted by the Empire, who usually went further out as nearby systems typically were absorbed into the Empire and the Empire needed to present itself as a benevolent protector in order to convince planetary leaders. That and the Empire's more aggressive methods of putting down obstinant systems were enough to bully weaker systems into succumbing to the Sith out of fear. Velmor was the exception due to its proximity to the Silver Jedi's border, and the fact that they had allowed the Silver Jedi to build a listening station on the planet.
So far, the Empire had concluded about half of its planned operation. Vigilant eyes were now looking up towards space, the technicians of the Jedi listening station managed to send off a panicked transmission before being eliminated. It wouldn't be long now before the Jedi would show up, but Thuyrn was eager to face the Jedi again. Ever since his failure on Jabiim and the cybernetics he had been forced to endure, he had allowed his hatred for the Jedi to churn and boil until it nearly threatened to consume him from within.
It would be good to, at last, find an outlet.

Den Velmor: The Sith Empire is halfway through rounding up the city’s citizens, taking their youth hostage to eventually be trained into soldiers of the Sith.
  • The Sith must complete their operation, and make off with their harvest of youth.
  • The Jedi must put a stop to the Sith’s vile scheme, and free the captured children.
Outpost Zulu: The Sith have overrun Outpost Zulu and begun to turn the station’s listening devices against the Silver Jedi, transcribing down positional data of other Silver Jedi assets.
  • The Sith must protect the Outpost until the downloads are complete.
  • The Jedi must either drive the Sith out of the Outpost or destroy it.

They had been waiting for this moment. The order knew it was only a matter of time until the sith struck at their borders again. When they received news from their listening outpost, it was not a shock. The Silver Jedi mobilized with impressive speed, and they had to. The galaxy was large, every moment wasted was another innocent put in harms way.

The distress call was received, and then amplified through their own communication devices.

The Sith have mobilized. Come quickly. And away the signal was sent, reverberating out through the depths of space. Would it reach their allies in time? Elise could only hope.

When they reached the planet of Velmor, The Order was not sure what they would arrive to. Was this an invasion? A taunt? The sith's presence on this poor neutral world was unfortunate. They had hoped to bring it under their protection. They had not moved quick enough.

The report reached every ship, Silver Affiliated or Allied alike.

They are pillaging the city. They have gathered stolen children. The outpost is overridden. Help is needed in all three sectors. Aid where you can. Protect, preserve, and by the Force get out safely.

Elise lingered in orbit as she watched help descend upon the planet. After a spell she took a deep breath and closed her eyes. What did the Force call on her to do? She listened, reaching for a sense of direction.

Aboard the Curt Cthon

Who was he? No one. What did he have?

Nothing anymore.

It had been a dark few years for Leon Avar. From decorated pilot to alcoholic wastrel looking for any job that he could possibly find. Things even in that department were fairly rough, but he'd somehow managed to keep it together for the last two years. A part of that was probably because he was still flying.

Sitting in the cockpit helped him keep his mind off of things, kept him stable, sane. Whatever he'd lost, it seemed to be forgotten when he sat himself down in the pilots seat.

Of course, he was only going to be able to manage that for a few more weeks. The Curt Cthon was not exactly a young ship, and Vanir ships tended to guzzle fuel. He'd bought the damned thing for it's looks, never considering that three years down the line he'd be flying around doing escort runs for merchants.

It was supposed to have be-

His lips thinned, banishing the thought that crept to his mind and instead rubbing his face as he leaned forward in his chair. His eyes caught a flash of something on his right. A beacon on the edge of his console. He recognized the code that flashed across the screen, his fingers tightening into a fist.

A sigh escaped him, and slowly he flipped the switch to read the message.

Den Volmor

This was not Kyrel's first battle. The screams, the blaster fire, the flames all around and the chaos of it all. Brought images of the First Order's conquest across the Outer Rim against the likes of the Galactic Alliance. Victory after victory brought Kyrel increasing confidence in the dark side as well as his own strength. Now here he was on some backwater world no less in the midst of a city under siege. This was the Knight of Ren's first appearance in the ever-expanding conflict between the Silver Jedi and the Sith Empire. His dealings with the Sith since the fall of the First Order had become more open, having gained the impression of the Emperor, and mutual respect between the Ren and the Sith. He had begun to work more openly with them as apart of the Sith Empire who had shown open arms to any First Imperial.

Now here he was, on this backwater world. What was he doing here, well the Empire's conquest costs resources, and manpower most of all. For the Empire to keep expanding and to defend it's own borders it needed more men. Not adults one that were already corrupted and posed a risk of rebellion. But of fresh young minds open to the indoctrination of the Sith. This method was done with the First Order, crafting the Order's Stormtrooper corps with that of young children. It was a method that made the order's downfall not from within, but without from foreign invaders. Kyrel could respect this most of all, and even help take part in overseeing the operation. Besides it was all to test his newfound philosophy of the Ren!

The blood and the screams made Kyrel into a frenzy, into a hulking brute as his saber Vader's Bane cut through a swathe of innocent civilians. It was a way to provoke the Jedi yes, but as a Ren it was something he believed in. The Ren did not care what burned, who they killed, they took what they wanted, killed who they wanted. For that was to be a Knight of Ren and he was exercising it with utter devotion. The crimson blade slicing through men, and women. But left the children this time to the troops he was aiding. The Legionnaires, while they were no Stormtroopers. He had respected them as useful tools to the Emperor's will. Often feel relieved to be fighting by soldiers.

"No, please don't!" A civilian cried out shortly before Kyrel plunged his blade through the man. The likes of his mask creating a terrifying sight. Troopers wandering with a handful of children kept and hindered by restraints, even painful electroshock nets. The troopers still continuing to push, and to set up a defensive perimeter at those that dared to resist. A smirk came to him, sensing the Jedi would soon appear to save the day. "Burn it all down!!"

By the time the technicians manning the Jedi listening station had sent their distress transmission, they had been near competely overrun by the legion of battle droids deployed by Grand Moff Aut-X to capture it in assistance of Darth Thuryn, for the glory of the Sith Empire. Aut-X had come to help lead the operation himself. It was of vital importance, after all, and the Grand Moff wanted to test the capabilities of his new right hand general also participating in this important mission.

His droid forces had quickly fortified the Jedi listening post while numerous T-series Tactical Droids worked their processing power to download the data they were here to retrieve. A full legion of droids, a mixed assortment of B1 and B2 units reinforced by a division of Armored Assault Tanks protected the perimeter of the listening post, having established sandbag and turret defenses to aid in this regard. When the Jedi counter offensive arrived, they'd be prepared to mount a strong defense until their objective was complete.

Aut-X had established a rudimentary command centre within the listening post itself, coordinating efforts there. He turned to speak to his adjutant, TE-236. "This is your opportunity to prove my choice in right hand was the correct one, TE-236. Return to your command AAT and coordinate the defense. They must not breach our lines until we have retrieved the data."

Objective 1

When the distress call was received by Reggie and Simon, they wasted no time making their way to Velmor. The pilot kept his attention on getting to the planet as fast as possible while Reggie made sure any equipment he needed was with him before they landed. He had his Jedi robes on with some light armor underneath, allowing him to move without being weighed down by too much. His two lightsabers were on his hip, accompanied by some other gadgets that he thought were worth using. This time, the Padawan would bring his staff with him, which was usually left behind since defending against blaster bolts with it would get him and others killed. Fortunately, he was able to obtain a portable shield that would negate that downside. The staff would be able to go up against close range weapons such as lightsabers, while the shield would defend against incoming fire. It meant he had more to keep maintenance of, but gave him more options while in combat. Besides, he could always switch to his lightsabers in a moments notice if the need arises.

With everything accounted for, Reggie sat down and allowed himself to think. From the information given, it seemed as though the Sith had two objectives on Velmor. One was to gather children and probably turn them into weapons against those they fought against later, stripping the children's innocence and turning them into soldiers. He was sure that it was something of that nature. He couldn't stand by as this was happening, so his efforts would be focused on protecting and rescuing the children. The Sith's other objectives had to do with the outpost. He didn't know what they were going for exactly, but there had to be something there that they wanted. Reggie's mind continued to think of the most effectively way to combat the Sith in this situation, preparing himself for what was ahead of him.

"We've made it Reggie. Descending upon the planet now."

Simon's words broke the Padawan out of his thoughts. The time for action has come.

This would be his first time he saw himself fighting for the Sith but he was actually glad for once that he has no strings to hold him back against the Jedi anymore, He chose to defend the outpost while the other sith download their intel, those who went to the city wasn't something he was ready to commit to yet but eventually he may join in the fun in the future. For now he simply waited at the entrance observing and even helping create defensive trenches and bunkers and possible trenches for the sith soldiers as he waited for the battle to begin patiently. Alot was on his mind but for now the only thing guiding him was battle and itd be a interesting battle with the current company but he knew with the current company as well their chances of success looked more favorable but he wasn't going to let that cloud him the goal was to keep the tower intact until the intel is done.

It was said that hate was a bad thing, but Ra could and did often say, she hated the Sith. A distress call was sent out and picked up by the Silver Jedi. She knew she needed to be there to help the Jedi. At one point in her life, she would have been on the Sith side, but that was no longer the case. Any chains she had with them had long since been cut and Ra was a freed woman.

When that call had come in, Ra jumped into action. Her first step was telling Josh Dragovalor Josh Dragovalor what she was doing. He could join her if he wanted, but she totally understood if he stayed home with Jason. Her partner had been through a great many things and might want to sit this one out.

Arriving with the Silvers, she joined them in the shuttles and gunships that would take them down to the planet. Securing her own weapons and gear, they weren't anything special, but they did belong to Ra.

Kyrel Ren made himself a big, obvious target, both visually and ethically. The hell he unleashed on the defenceless radiated bright enough for even Shira to feel it, and she wasn't the most sensory-focused of Jedi. She beelined through the city on a swoop bike, weaving between buildings and skimming over single-story roofs. She slewed the bike around a bend and dropped down to street level.

The bike skidded to a halt just short of a knot of fleeing civilians. Shira slid off and handed it over to someone who looked a) vulnerable and b) like they could fly a swoop. She barely even saw their faces: Kyrel Ren held her attention. Bodies surrounded him, all adult thank the Force. He looked ready, willing, and able to add to the pile.

Her saberstaff's two blades snap-hissed to life as she bore down on the murderer at a dead sprint. She'd felt this bastich at Mustafar, but hadn't faced him. He'd been the man behind the big ritual, the lava surge, all of it. She slowed just outside lightsaber range, just shy of the bodies.

"Hey karkwit." She got the saberstaff up across her body with its emitters protruding from the top of her right fist and the bottom of her left. "You wanted some fething attention, you got it, you little shavvit."

TE-236 followed after the Grand Moff into the base, behind the legion of droids. This would be his first mission for the Sith Empire, and he wanted to proved that he could win missions for the Empire. Also, the mission was of vital importance, so helping further along success will allow his superior to trust him with more vital tasks.

Gin nodded to Grand Moff Aut-X upon receiving orders. "Yes, Grand Moff. I calculate their chances of breaching the base are 238 to 1." Gin answered him, showing that usual Tactical droid behavior. Gin walked off towards the outside, where the defense would be set up. Gin walked outside, approaching his AAT, next to the other tanks. He climbed in the hatch. He sat in the main cannon turret. He viewed the defenses they had set up. Many battle droids were stationed outside, and they had set up barriers and cover positions. They had also set up turret defenses to also aid in the defense, both for targeting ground troops, vehicles and tanks, and for providing anti-air support.

Gin turned to the droids. He signaled over a droid lieutenant. "Lieutenant, I want anti-tank at 125 meters in front of our troops, and I want anti-personnel mines at 38 meters in front of our troops." Gin told the droid, placing the mines at an optimal distance where the mines will hit the Jedi troops before they can cause any major damage to their troops. "I then want tank traps placed 5 meters behind the anti-tank mines at approximately .91 meters apart from each other. Next, arrange the troops in multiple sections according to platoons. I want a reserve droid force behind the main lines, safe from the combat, to provide reinforcements for the main force.Place them apart to where mortar strikes cannot take out multiple platoons at once. Place them in the trenches and behind the barricades, and have them hold position. Have snipers behind the main lines, and have artillery and mortars behind them. Have the tanks placed at regular intervals behind the main lines, and have them use their full arsenal on all enemy troops, such as the main cannons and anti-infantry blasters. Have droid commandos hide in the surrounding environment, so they can surprise attack them or surround them. Have rocket launchers placed so that droids can take out large squads, vehicles, and enemy ships. I have calculated multiple contingencies for a wide multitude of problems and setbacks, so that the plan can be adjusted." Gin ordered, having sent a lot of processing power into the plan before hand.

"Roger, roger." The droid lieutenant replied, walking off to go and make sure that Gin's orders were received and followed.

Now, Gin waited, examining the troops executing his orders.

Silver Jedi Objective:
Den Velmor is being overrun by forces of The Sith Empire. Civilians are being killed and the young are being enslaved for future service to the Emperor's legions of Darkness. This cannot be allowed! Fight for the people of Velmor and beat back the tyranny of the Sith!

ZMCFqRD.gif

Caedyn Arenais had been present on Kashyyyk, following his teaching a Class at the Silver Rest when the call went out, sounding the alarm over the attack against the people of Velmor. He had fortunately been taking his time before heading back to Svivren when word came, meaning that he need only board the Repertoire with as little preparation as needed before blasting off with a handful of volunteers towards the Velmor System.

Their arrival would be greeted by the sight of Jedi Forces engaging the Empire's naval contingent, though there would be no pause for the Repertoire as Caedyn and his droid co-pilot directed their point of entry directly over the Capital City and spared the thrusters none. Within moments, the devastation wrought on by the Sith Forces would be clear.

"Lex, get us in over the City as close and as quickly as possible, we're going to make the jump" Caedyn informed the Co-Pilot, "We're going to be being fired upon as soon as we reach the City limits, so drop us down on top of a building if you can and then fall back to board one of the Silver's capital ships. I'll get back to you on my own from here" droids were not the pilots that Sentient's were, however Lexus had been flying with Caedyn for some time now and the Jedi Knight had adjusted the droids programming of his own accord during their time together. It had been a great purchase from Locke & Key Mechanics!

There were a squad of Antarian Rangers on board, they who were readying the weapons and double checking their armor and gear. "Landing's going to be fast and heavy" Caedyn advised them as he moved towards the point of entry, where the landing ramp would lower once they were over the skies of Den Velmor and descending on point. "Rendezvous with the rest of your people once you're on the ground, I'll support you until then" Caedyn assured them, and soon the droids voice came over the comm's announcing their arrival.

The U-Wing banked sharply and almost toppled Major Stazi over but he held on tight before letting high winds rip him out of the passenger bay. His anti-grav chute fired a quick course correction burn lining him up with Outpost Zulu kilometers below. Another transport was ripped apart underneath him and then he had a clear view of ground turbolasers and other AA batteries spitting up holy armageddon. No doubt the Empire had detected the Wild Stallion before their dropships even showed up on the captured base's scopes.

A few hundred rebel guerillas plus a scattering of Judges and mercenaries could not hope to drive out an entire Sith occupation force not to mention whatever else was in there. That wasn't his mission. Sol and his Pathfinders were here to buy the Antarian Rangers and their Silver Jedi comrades as much time to launch a major counter-offensive as they could before the Sith fully entrenched their position.

He came down just short of his planned LZ in the Imperial trench network. The duros commando shrugged off his bulky grav chute and charged his Firelance not a moment to soon before he was trading fire with a pair of Sith battle droids.

"They are pillaging the city. They are taking the children. The outpost is overrun. Help is needed in all three sectors. Aid where you can. Protect, preserve, and by the Force get out safely"

"We need to deploy with all speed, but we can only have a rapid response force, complete with medvac, at the onset, with heavier artillery units arriving later. Although it pains me to, I will have to take the RRF's control personally. The primary objective is to save the civilian children. All units, refrain from using lethal force until you come under attack; if it comes to using lethal force, its use must be as surgical as possible. Load ion bombs and stun bombs; have medvac ready to intervene at a moment's notice, and issue stun grenades as well"

After the losses sustained on Bimmisaari, Kintan and later on Mandalore, where the Sith won what amounted to a Pyrrhic victory, and, despite the Sith's inability to capitalize on its victory against the Mandalorians, it was due to happen at some point. Jessica was one of the main drivers of the Silvers' victory on Kintan, but even if the second wave, with the heavy artillery (tanks, heavy mortars, MLRS batteries and other siege equipment) came, the main objective would simply be, at that point, to draw fire away from the civilians. They have realized by now that they can't just expose themselves to high casualties by carrying out raids of this nature without trying to plunder something, she thought, while snipers, field artillery (fielding MobileMortar-4 swoops), and special forces were deploying down to the surface in search of the pockets of enemy activity to intercept, with air support consisting of aircraft loaded with ion bombs or ion torpedoes. Or even these old stun bombs that have been kept in storage for years. But the first wave of SEAD was there for disabling these AA emplacements using ion bombs so as to create a beachhead to land troops. And maybe remain disabled long enough to send in heavier units if required.

Poker was just one of a great number of droids under the command of TE-236 TE-236 and Grand Moff Aut-X. He was an old model, but had seen rather little combat by comparison. However due to his programing and his strange level of curiosity, creativity, and intelligence, the droid could prove quite useful. He joined with some of the other commando droids, prepared for ambush, weapon in hand. He crouched very low using cover carefully. Waiting, noiseless, for the approaching forces.

He waited quietly, a single finger pressed slowly against the ground distractedly. To see how the ground would react. The same process against a piece of grass. However he didn't let himself get too distracted, he was under orders and was trying to obey. Poker had only recently joined the Sith after he lost his contact with the last group he was with who freed him of being owned by anyone. Now the droid was free to do as he chose, physically that is. Poker retained a sense of need for relying on another to give him orders. He had difficulty functioning on his own and always had. Perhaps it was due to the damage he had sustained that caused his curiosity. That caused his creativity and almost sentient styled processes at times.

He turned his head ever so slightly, glancing to where the others were supposed to be. They weren't under his command. Probably for the best, he didn't know how to give orders. Just how to take them. He would do whatever he would do and they would do what they were told. His ship, the Royal Flush. Remained nearer to the rest of the forces. Somewhere he could get to it if he took off full sprint so that they could vanish quickly should they need to. Another custom made piece of equipment. However, it was perhaps better for him out on the field then flying it for now. Sometimes being on foot had an advantage if it was in coordination with others.

After the Lord General overtly outed himself as a traitor to the realm in the face of the Emperor himself and his closest retinue his short after disappearance brought on a shadow war to purge those who aligned with the Lord General's sentiment, helping only to culminate into the 'heresy' which parted the Sith Empire right in two between religious and political lines.

Tracking the isolated and familiar signature of the Pyramid Of Scientific Advancement's arrival into the Velmor system, Tavlar sought to strike the first blow in this brewing war. The first aim being a jagged cut through the throat of one of the hydra's head in the capture or killing of a Dark Councilman on the field of battle. An operation of this scale might've never warranted his direct hand again, but with the stakes and reward as high as they were - Irveric was at the tip of the spear.

Managing to either conceal itself or get drowned out by the greater chaos of the exchange between the Sith Empire and Silver Jedi, Tavlar managed to sneak a contingent of his fleet into the system to deploy his fighting force planet side - an element remaining in high orbit in order to conduct a swift and full scale extraction of Deathshead once the operation was complete or otherwise aborted.

On its approach to Velmor, Deathshead came across the ideal adversary. The black and green of Cognus Legion holding sentry in the outskirts of Den Velmor was unmistakable. Ideal in that Tavlar's aim was not to break this siege and reclaim ground lost in favor of the Silver Jedi - only to capture or kill Giedfield.

Kascalian's legion was met with a focused and breakneck storming offensive from Tavlar's own counter part. What Cognus had in a trim and elite infantry fighting force, Deathshead favored the mailed fist in spades. Stingily distributed contingents of Sith-Imperial armor among Kascalion's ranks would be met with a focused and hard hitting attack of combined armored formations while Tavlar's own storm infantry disembarked from their transports, taking up cover and establishing heavy and special weapons positions to lay down crushing supporting fire unto the soft contingent.

Cataphract main battle tanks had long taken up the backline, setting down unto their stationary positions to lay down punishing volleys of their M6 Turbolasers within the focused assault. Tavlar sought to draw the Dark Councilor's attention and quick. He could gain early victories but in an event of the Silver Jedi being overrun, more barrels would find themselves turned on Tavlar's legion and risk his fighting force being overwhelmed and killed.

Uncharacteristically aggressive he closed the gap in tow with his supporting infantry - trudging through rubble heaps within the city's outskirts with his cold gaze singularly focused in finding the Dark Councilor. Even whil equipped in his full panoply of war the shared camouflage pattern and otherwise in-uniform appearance of the ablative equipment among Tavlar's legionnaires served to hide him well enough -- even if he was more than eager to bait Kascalion into the open field.

His father, as he learned from the codex given to him by Vilaz Munin Vilaz Munin , was a pragmatic, and slightly aloof man of few words. But he was a man of conviction, which eventually lead him to dive off of a cliff in shame for what he had brought to his people. In a way, one could admired that, that a man believed in so much that he would rather die than watch his own daughter destroy their people any longer.

But a father, only in name.

Thal had never met the man, and vice-versa. It simply was one of the things he could not change about his life. But what he could change, was the allocation of souls by the Sith. He had buried his lightsabers, both in his mind and literally, and dug them only recently. The Silver Jedi, did not cast him out- he casted himself out. So he went alone, feeling as though he had to do something.

He crouched in an alleyway, a Sith patrol leading a trio of crying, quivering children. In the darkness, he squinted his eyes so they could not see the whites of his eyes, and waited for his moment. In a patrol formation, or any combat formation, as they were, the easiest, especially in an environment, was simply to turn around, and mass your fires. So he waited until they were perpendicular to him, and struck at the side. A blue blade came out, and met the helmet of the Sith soldier closest to the alleyway, removing the top half of his skull.

The other three were dispatched just as quickly, with the last having his weapon bisected to prevent him from firing a shot to alert the others, before Thal stuck the blades through his chest. He let the man drop down quickly, turning to the frightened children. He disengaged the blades, narrowing his eyes before moving further into the city. The children would make their own way. They knew that better than him. He didn't have time to play caretaker, only the liberator. That would come later, if at all.

He began to run, trying to formulate a better plan in the meantime. He had come alone- and ahead of any significant amount of... anyone. As usual, Thal had not thought of a good plan, and was recklessly putting himself in danger in the name of revenge.

Mandalore had broken Lirka, or at least, made the hulking monstrosity just a little more broken. To truly witness with her own eyes the futility of mortals: she had sealed herself way in contemplation and meditation on such things, and it had dawned how hopelessly empty these creatures were, they did not understand the truth of this Galaxy, did not understand the enlightenment that been forced down upon her. But she was liberator, the true freedom fighter, she would liberate their heads from their necks. They would see the truth of this Galaxy.

Her war plate was resplendent, Lirka seemed less a soldier and more some creature pulled straight from the mythical stories of ancient Thustra. A demon, a twist of the beauty of art and an unending cold void that held no room for these driving forces. There was no true emotion from her massive armored form, just the hiss of her movements and the whining of her blade as poor and hapless mortals were saved from their empty existences: massive burning gashes formed across their chests.

"Do not fear! Your deliverance has come, children!"

It took time for one to realize she meant all those gathered here, not just the screaming and thrashing youth that were pulled from their families and given their new life in the Empire: it brought her great pleasure, for just the same happened on Moridinae as they fought here: a new greatness formed from the shattered remnants of the Mandalorian trash, her new Legion. She wished to see these children progress. Yes. She decided on that fact as she sent three civilian heads rolling to the ground. She wished to watch over the most promising, to see the fruits of Imperial labor...to see if all this effort was worth it.

"For rejoice! Rejoice in that your spawn have been given a second chance! Rejoice that you will now be freed from your empty existences! For Thustra's Queen knows mercy to the vermin, for I take pity upon your empty souls!"

Fire burned around her, as homes and livelihoods disappeared in an inferno of crushing Imperial fight and the flames of battle itself. A man crawled beneath her feet, trying to escape. She did not even looked down at the vermin as sickly crunch filled the fighting: merely another to be liberated.

"Cry out your anger, cry out your hate! Embrace the primordial nature of our existence! For hate is freedom! Suffering is enlightenment!"

And with none of the empathy and mercy she preached, Lirka stalked the streets just as she had done on Copero. And just as she ordered on Moridinae, all would be crushed. The hulking behemoth hard for any to miss, with all the gaudy additions to the now not-so-pristine plate flowing in the winds of chaos. Wayward blaster bolts harmlessly disappearing into her duranium plate, not stalling the unending fury of Enlightenment.

How foolish it was to the Devil Lion, in his endless stream of incredulous irritation, that the Empire would find the time to engage with the Silver Jedi Order, openly he might add, in the midst of a Civil War with itself. While the results of this expedition may have proven beneficial to the Empire's future, in some capacity or another, it could not be denied that the whole endeavor seemed hasty on a certain scale, foolish on any scale. Borders would be left open, forces would be stretched, and the Empire would be forced to focus, once again, on a possible war of attrition with itself and the Jedi Order.

As the panic-stricken citizens of Den Velmore screeched and hollered in their retreat from the Empire's army, often into the waiting grasps of Darth Abaddon's personal legion, whom he had given the nickname Stygian Retributors, the Devil Lion thought on the menagerie of outcomes for these two forming wars. In many outcomes, the Empire wins by sheer determination and shows of power alone. In many others, they are destroyed by the traitors and the Jedi and any other foe that decides to join the melee. In some, a truce is made and things go back to how they were before. In some, the war never ends and goes on and on for eternity.

Abaddon despised all of these outcomes, for he knew that the war, or rather all the coming wars were unnecessary to begin with. It did not compute in the otherwise prodigious mind of the Devil Lion to have such squalor created on otherwise perfected landscapes. To have worlds and star systems and Galactic governments become new mass-graveyards for the trillions killed in the crossfire alone. Unbeknownst to all others, this mere idea of widespread destruction had pervaded the Dark Councilor for so long that he had begun to feel the small pangs of desire to simply leave everything behind and return to some world whose name he had long forgotten, distant enough to not be killed in the crossfire. To not be destroyed in the flames of ego and despair and disagreement and petty squabbles. To simply surv-

The sudden barrage of hellfire raining down upon his position drew his attention away from the non-Sith thoughts. Immediately activating the sensor and tracker suites of his helmet, the Devil Lion scanned the immediate area, searching for the source of the attack through the increasing walls of smoke and embers. Quickly did he pick up the unmistakable signatures of Imperial vehicles in the distance, along with a number of life signs belonging to soldiers most certain allied with the Apostates. Of all those who had betrayed the Empire during the great debacle, Abaddon knew of only a few who would so brazenly attack the Empire alongside the Jedi, even if not allied with them.

"Lord Tavlar...humorous," he grumbled to himself before turning to the commanding officer of the battalion. "I want half of our forces to enter the city and link up with the nearest company. You lead them. The rest I want to take up defensive positions in the buildings outlining the border. Those who have them, I want to equip the Pulse Cannons. The rest, I want to charge the Ion shots to deal with the tanks."

"What of you, Lord Abaddon?" the officer inquired after giving the orders without hesitation.

"I have a traitor to deal with," the Dark Councilor replied before activating the Sinrich Optical Dephaser of his armor, effectively turning invisible to both eyes and sensors.

"So, what are you thinking? What would be the smart play in their position?"

"They're setting up trenches and barricades, and what looks like possible mobile turrets. AA maybe. Plenty of space though...mines?"

"Good. Most likely, yes. Tank- and personnel-targeting, if they hold to the classic tactics. It's an effective combination and a direct assault would be costly."

The tones in use were partially teacher to student, partially just the distracted tones of people focused on a problem. See, Sith forces had come to Velmor, and they had been unlucky enough to show up partway through. Unluckier still that the ranking being between them had a past affiliation with the Silver Jedi Order, who had a post on-planet and was in direct conflict with the Sith. Ignoring ethical issues arising from doing so, the ship could have otherwise simply skittered away with nobody the wiser at their presence.

The Faradrim was only lightly crewed comparatively speaking. The hunter corvette was running silent with all stealth countermeasures active, as well as the advanced sensor arrays. Gathering information was useful, and that information would be transmitted to Silver Jedi forces once they made themselves known - and when doing so wouldn't directly danger the Faradrim. The owner knew that this was no simple recon ferret however.

"Options?"

"You tell me."

"Not now, we can go over this later."

That was a change in tone. Not unfriendly, but becoming more official. Audren Sykes - Jedi Master, business owner, and vessel owner - was not an expert at war. Gido Melnau was a friend, and he was teaching the Sephi about tactics when the occasion arose, but he also was an employee. His head nodded...this was becoming less of a classroom and shifting to reality, mistakes needed to be minimized. The best option in his mind was simple enough, and before long the ship was moving.

The corvette dropped near the planet's surface a significant distance away, still running silent. The pilot used buildings and natural terrain to their benefit, but this was still a corvette. Compared to most planet-bound vehicles, it was big and noisy, and that made it noticeable. But it got close enough.

"Fire."

Stealth measures fell back to minimal levels as four light turbolaser cannons introduced the vessel. Noisily. Pinpoint targeting was used to fire at the larger defenses - the turrets mostly, but the larger barricades and vehicle groups as well. A mounted gatling spat particle beams in short bursts at the formations of personnel. Meanwhile, missiles erupted from launchers. These, however, spiraled away from the enemy. Their target was the open areas where tactics said mines would be laid. And with the warheads set to proximity detonation, they just had to get close to the ground to detonate and effectively wash destruction across the mined zone. If that weren't enough, a small and unpowered projectile launched at the facility itself: when close it erupted into a hazy Connor net that was intended to wrap around the main transmitter system and fry it. Maybe run more damage further into the facility as well, who knew?

No doubt the Sith forces had prepared for aerial assault. Atmospheric aerial assault was typically bombers however, which were much smaller than the Faradrim. After all, it was crazy to bring a corvette down into the atmosphere to assault an installation. But the corvette's shields could handle much more incoming fire than those of a bomber, and the weapons were built to take bites out of other space-going warships. Orbital bombardments were typically performed with very similar weaponry, but could be inaccurate. This close in the accuracy was immaculate...the firepower was just plain overkill.

Audren was fully aware that the Nephilim class corvette was a fragile one however. That first - and hopefully very disruptive - pass was intended to be the last. Engines that had been running low kicked into gear and rotated, accelerating the vessel as quickly as was safely possible in lower atmosphere and pushing the nose up to the skies. They'd done their part to hopefully make things easier for SJO forces and now it was time to leave. Weapon power shifted to stealth systems and the vessel made for a cloud bank in an effort to simply disappear.

EDIT: Each of these is an attempt rather than calling the hit.

The Sith soldiers caught up to her in one of the backrooms. She'd stopped by a doorway, peeking past the frame, when a heavy, gloved hand clamped painfully against her mouth and nose. Eyes wide, Kirie threw her weight back, slipping out of the soldier's grip before his burly arm could close around her throat. Wrenching herself free, Kirie turned to run, but another soldier blocked the way she had come. The second soldier smiled cruelly and gave Kirie a savage kick to the gut that brought her to her knees.

Crouched down, Kirie splayed her palm and the soldier that had kicked her went flying across the room, crashing heavily into a solid table that collapsed beneath the weight of her armour. The first soldier turned back, his face twisted in a snarl, and grabbed Kirie before she could react, yanking her upright and slamming the slight woman into the wall, before tossing her backwards, her head striking the timber flooring painfully.

Dazed, Kirie looked up to see the soldier unslinging his
rifle and levelling it at her. Instinctively, her hand snapped at the air again, sending the man hurtling backwards as she leapt to her feet and sprinted out the door, crouching down by a display of various types of shells from across Velmor's coastlines. Breathing heavily, she peered over the display cabinet, waiting until she saw the shadows of the two soldiers darken the doorway before pulling her head back.

They approached from either side, moving methodically past each of the displays, searching for her. When finally they were close enough, Kirie stepped out from her hiding place, took a deep breath to centre herself, and swept her arms wide like she was parting a great curtain, sending each and everything in front of her, including the two Sith Legionnaires, rocketing backwards into the wall in a tumble of glass, furniture and antiquities.

She hurried out the back door, moving further into the museum's back rooms and leaving the two soldiers buried beneath the pile of debris, painfully aware that her little show would have the other soldiers descending upon her in moments.
