SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Integrated rangefinder

  • Long-range communications array

  • Sensor array

  • Environmental control equipment (temperature control, air purifier, containment field)

  • Electronic warfare package (sensor-jamming ECM, ECCM); can jam in any direction within mortar firing range, with the most effective jamming occurring at much shorter ranges

  • Inertial compensator

  • Tensor field generator

  • Autoloader

  • Fast: can be used for hit-and-run attacks
  • Ability to swap out armament
Weaknesses:
  • Fragile
  • Armament cannot be swapped in battle
Description: It was found in combat situations that ground-based field artillery was often hamstrung by its limited mobility, and that there are circumstances where it called for hit-and-run operations of field artillery to compensate for limited availability of airpower. There are two configurations for the MobileMortar-4, based on what the armament is: the assault configuration, with one forward-mounted MiniMag MANPAD, and the mortar configuration, with a retractable mortar equipped underneath, both with an autoloader with a capacity of 35 rounds each, giving the vehicle clear limitations in their deployment. However, given the design requirement of a 24-unit squadron, the defenses are rather low, making the MobileMortar-4 a glass cannon used for swarm, hit-and-run attacks. Additional automation allowed the MobileMortar-4 to be manned by one gunner, rather than the two-person arrangement of the MobileMortar-3, whose 500-round ammunition capacity was found to be too high. Finally it can jam enemy sensors to help make hit-and-run attacks easier.

While I can't recommend firing a mortar at high speeds, I can't find anything immediately over powered with this. I would like to hear what you think the range and effectiveness of the speeder bike's jamming systems are. Is the jamming directional or area based?

[member="Gib"] I would probably have to go with the jamming range being essentially the same range as the 60mm mortar, although at the edge of the mortar's firing range, it would definitely not be as effective as it would be at shorter ranges.
