Strengths:
Hunter: The Nephilim Class Hunter Corvette is above all meant to be a tracker vessel. Similar in purpose to Bounty Hunting Vessels, the Nephilim was designed to track down and hunt other ships, it's primary systems being geared towards it's highly advanced sensors and powerful weapons. This function was created as a design for Saeva Incorporated, who on an individual basis often took out assassination as well as regular bounty hunting contracts. This means that the Nephilim is essentially a ship purpose built for Bounty Hunters and people of that sort. In order to aid with these functions the Nephilim is equipped with heavy weapons including quad light turbolasers, a VT-Particle Gatling, two varying missile launchers, and it's primary disabling weapon a conner net launcher. Aside from it's weapons system the Nephilism is also equipped with an incredibly powerful sensor system. This sensor system is built around two pylons on the side of the ships engines, taking in a constant stream of sensory data. This allows the Nephilim to more easily track other vessels through hyperspace routes, far away distances, and other such methods.

Adjusting Engines: The other feature of the Nephilim class is it's adjustable engine pods. Designed by Vanir Technologies to assist in maneuverability the Engine pods on the Nephilim are capable of fully rotating three hundred and sixty degrees independently of one another, shifting and moving depending on the will of the pilot. These engine pods allow the Nephilim to move more swiftly through space, dodging obstacles and moving around far more quickly than one would expect from a ship of it's size. It also allows the Nephilim to outmaneuver smaller ships that it might be chasing. The Nephilim is not the fastest ship in the galaxy, but it is quite light on it's feet.

Weaknesses:
Reactor: Much like many Vanir Technologies ships, the Nephilim-Class has an issue with it's reactor core. Though this issue is manageable with the use of the VT-Nerve Helm System and careful observation it is known that the Vanir Technologies ships have an issue with simply overdrawing power from their reactor, the Nephilim is no exception to this. Much like the Varactyl-Class, the Nephilim makes use of a VT-Particle Gatling, that along with it's shields, quad light turbo-lasers, and engine systems make it incredibly easy to overdraw power from the reactor. This overdraw of energy can have one of two effects, either the ship itself shuts down, the reactor simply ceasing function, or the reactor goes critical and causes the ship to explode in a rather violent display.

Armor: Though well shielded and constructed, the Nephilim-Class follows the same suite of thought behind it as many other Vanir Technologies ships. In order to preserve it's sleek nature and more stealthy nature, the Nephilim has no real armor. It's hull is a thin fiberplast coating, it's skeleton being a strong titanium body. Though the vessel has shields, once these are penetrated it is entirely too easy to destroy the ship with only a single heavy turbolaser blast or well placed missile. The Nephilim instead relies on it's increase maneuverability and sleek body to allow it to dodge and weave between most forms of assault.

Description:
The VT-Nephilim Class Hunter Corvette is a small departure from Vanir Technologies current policy in Ship building.

This departure was brought about by the request of Vanir's military arm, Saeva Incorporated. Saeva, being founded before Vanir Technologies, and being owned by Kiran Vess, has a strong amount of pull within Vanir Technologies, and it's own improvement benefits Vanir. As such, the creation of new equipment becomes a priority for Vanir Technologies. When the request was put in by Kiran Vess for a new class of ship it was immediately put forward as one of the primary projects to be focused on.

What Saeva Incorpoated requested was a new niche vessel that could be utilized to track and hunt down special operations targets.

This ship would require specific parameters to be met. It would need heavier firepower, long range sensor capabilities, be capable of running stealth operations, and finally contain enough room for three to four operatives but allow for only one crew member to be needed. These parameters, although tough, were eventually all met with the eventual development of the VT-Nephilim Class Hunter Corvette. This ship, though not entirely perfect, met each and every single part of the requirements set forth by Saeva Incorporated.

The first of these parameters, the firepower of the vessel, was met by the additions of several armaments onto the vessel. The ship was first and foremost equipped with quad light turbolaser cannons alongside a VT-Particle Gatling and twin variant missile launchers. Lastly the ship comes equipped with a conner net launcher. These nets are utilized to disable ships, utilizing a high powered ion charge to completely knock out a vessels systems and render them inert.

The second and third requirement of the ship was it's ability to function as a tracker vessel. This was achieved through the addition of two long range sensor pylons on either side of the Nephilims twin engines, these sensor nodes having far greater range and power than even most capital grade class vessels. To go alongside with this the Nephilim is built like a stealth craft, being made up of fibeplast construction and coming equipped with a whole suite of stealth features such as a Gravitic Modulator and Thrust Thrace Dampeners. These features, although not making the Nephilim completely disappear, allow the ship to fly mostly under the radar, though it can still be picked up on more powerful sensor systems.

Of course, the last and perhaps the most important feature of the Nephilim is it's reinforced brig. Within the very back of the vessel beneath the cargo hold are located two titanium reinforced ray shield cells. These cells are strong enough to hold most anything, and are used by Saeva Incorporated employees on retrieval missions.

When the first Nephilim-Call Hunter Corvette rolled off the line it was decided that the ship was versatile and fast enough that it should be sold on the open-market, as such the vessel saw construction on a limited basis to be sold to Bounty Hunters and other mercenary corporations.
